Can confirm. I am a 29 year old Texan man and, regardless of the age of the woman I am speaking to, I say yes ma’am/no ma’am. She could be 80, 23, or 12 years old, a southern man will say yes ma’am / no ma’am to her (If he was raised properly).
Also, “fixin” does have many meanings. Behold:
“Fixins” = condiments or toppings

My husband is not from Texas but he sure has Texan's mannerisms. He is big hearted, sweet, respectful and he treats me like a queen. We were actually thinking of moving to Texas because his employer wants to transfer him to San Antonio. It is nice to see he would fit in well.

I hope to convey why we find this to be such an important symbol for our state and why we look up to this event. The men who fought there, knowing death would be upon them, were born all across the world coming from different states, nations and ethnic backgrounds. Hispanics, English men, Welsh men, Scots, Blacks, and men from all over the United States: from New York to Tennessee. Though they were born across the world, they all died Texas heros. We all hope to live as nobly as they did.

Oh, BTW, one of the regions you can do that a lot of people tend to overlook, is the Pacific Northwest. Those are the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. Believe it or not, it can be VERY different from California. If you put them all in together it wouldn't be accurate. They aren't "liberal, Hollywood, surfer" like California, but are an interesting mix of the Midwest and South. People from the Pacific Northwest are typically much friendlier than Back East -- Minnesota and on -- but aren't QUITE as in-your-face as the South. They are sincere in their friendliness. I would avoid the big cities like Seattle and Portland if you want to represent the Northwest; they tend to be "city slickers" in comparison to the majority.

Another delightful video! I think I would definitely get along with the Texans well, if these videos are any indication of their mannerisms and behaviors. Chivalry, manners, large personality- all things I have, and respect in others. Although I will say my speech and mannerisms are more akin to an intellectually inclined individual with a sharp wit.
But they sound like delightful people to be around. Perhaps someday I will visit the Lone Star State to take in the culture and learn more about it. I am familiar with the Midwest, and to some extent, the South. But not with the deep South.
