Right! Kinda contradictory.
But to be honest, those two countries are much more different from each other than U.S. and Canada are. Uruguayans are white, mostly Italian/Mediterranean descent, and speak Spanish, and their country is extremely liberal and developed (first country in Latin America to make Cannabis and homosexual marriages legal, and most people are atheist), while Paraguayans are mixed and speak Guaraní (an indigenous language, they learn Spanish in school though).
A similar U.S.-Canada comparison would be Uruguay-Argentina, they are very similar countries, with very similar people.

I am half Greek and Greeks are the same. I've never felt inferior to any man, on the contrary I'm looked up to by male colleagues and respected. The issue here is education and it's not unique to Arabs, it happens in other countries too, all around the world.I know strong independent men who are excellent husbands and fathers (European) but they're mamma's boys. As an Israeli woman it was funny to get an outsider perspective. I LOLed at some points. I prefer the more introverted, shy, intellectual Israeli types who don't behave quite like that, but generally speaking I feel that as far as men go I got the best deal on earth.
I get the impression that on average native Israeli men have less of a "masculinity complex". On one hand many of them exhibit qualities traditionally associated with masculinity - they're confident, strong, assertive, energetic, optimistic, but at the same time they don't find women who are as strong and opinionated as them threateting or unattractive. It's like they're more secure in their masculinity. I've seen more than a few Israeli men cry, yet they don't seem one iota less masculine when they do. Their masculinity seems to be so natural and innate that they seem to need less external reinforcement. They are somehow both the most masculine men and the most sensitive and warm.
It's a generalization, of course. I'm talking about qualities that are pretty common, not about each and every Israeli man.
I am an israeli palestinian, and this is exactly what i like about israeli society, i think is a result of the close-knit culture of israeli jews, and the fact both genders serve in the army later in their teens.
spending a lot of time with israeli jews you get this feel of family, everyone is accepting of eachother and gender discrimination is like non-existant... its also intersting how israeli dudes combine classic arabness with some westerner behaviour, funny thing is I am the least arab youd find in fact a lot of jews couldnt believe i was palestinian and thought i was some introverted european, didnt help that my hebrew accent is soo ashkenazi.

@@marimartins7984 The opposite actually XD Canada has much less of a defined Nationalism (outside Quebec) than a lot of other countries, but one of the common identifiers is 'Not American': it shows in our political system, our linguistic differences in English etc. We are in a lot of ways closer to Europeans than Americans; we tend to travel much more, speak more languages etc but at the same time we have a more open attitude to immigration than the (current) slate of American and European politicians. In a sense we're a balance between the two, but no - we are DEFINITELY not Americans :D Hope all is well in Brazil!!
