Rise of the Tomb Raider - my personal Game of the Year, because it's better than the reboot in almost every way. But, that doesn't mean it's free from sin. And yes, it's back with a whole truckload of cliches.

Surprised one of the sins wasn't "the deathless still spawn after the destruction of the divine source"
Michael Durk when the game finishes and you can go back to the save file and go to where the deathless spawn. They'll respawn even though the divine source is gone.
well yeah you're at the deathless spawn it basically takes place before destruction of the source
The logic behind that is, not all immortal people who received the Source power will die after it is broken, e.g. Ana.

On Steam, of all the Tomb Raider and Lara Croft games available there, Tomb Raider (2013) is the highest review rating one of all with a 95% positive rating ("Overwhelming Positive"). Tied for third is the Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015) with a 93% positive rating ("Very Positive"). I have Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC (Steam version) and PS4 and Tomb Raider (2013) on PS4. The former is the first video game I played entirely using keyboard and mouse. I did it to get accustomed to playing that way, having transitioned to becoming more of a PC gamer than a console gamer today. For many, if not most people, it probably would be easier playing it with a controller.

There's a super good reason why Lara could've lost all her guns from the first game. For one, they were all taped up pieces of shit held together with glue and deer testicles, so it can be accepted they'd just totally break after a little bit, having only barely survived the first game yet easily destroyed in the second game. Second, customs and national laws (Especially those in Europe) would absolutely take away those guns from her. Third: In this game you're facing guys in body armor and with miltary tactics. That run down AK or even the garbage shotgun won't exactly stand up to a modern day weapon.

So why she has a gun on flashback but does not have one in the mountais or better, why the hell did she picked an old revolver instead a rifle in the full of rifle guys forest? Is a good game but not even close the first one.

The Russian made AK will be the best assault rifle ever made. It took the US many iterations of the m16 to get it right

Yeah, that was nuts. I think it would have been neat where every time you go into the water, you have to find some way to warm yourself. It could add an element of inventory management to the game.

Try playing the game on survival mode (it's a DLC), she can freeze to death AND starve!
At least the DLC Endurance Mode fix this. There, you can also die of starvation.

You wrongfully counted the voice recording of Jonah trying to get ahold of Lara as a sin. Jonah wasn't the one that recorded himself. It was one of Trinity's men that happen to catch it on his radio. Similarly to how Lara kept getting interference with Trinity herself. Pretty sure Lara mentions this herself when she hears it.
Anybody notice Jonah went from Samoan to Black? No one seems to notice that but me.

Immortality is different from invincibility. ._. Immortality is the act of being unable to die via disease or age. Invincibility is lack of death entirely.

I'd say the game is accurate.
Immortally means your body can be destroyed, but you still exist in some form that's not an organic being. Then, someone can perform a ritual and you take the form of a new body. That's what happens to the enemies in the game.
Invincibility means your body can't be damaged at all. Not even a papercut.
+Trisha Demilion +Trisha Demilion Immortal means you are not mortal. That's it. Which essentially means you can not die. Other than that, nothing is "explained" or set in rules since immortality doesn't exist. Everything is up to anyone's imagination.
Invincible means that you can't lose. It has nothing to do with being immortal. Maybe you meant indestructible, in which case you can't be harmed but you can die from old age for example. But again it doesn't exist so again it's up to our imagination.
Where is sam? Me: I completed the game only story and even i know from story collectibles that sam is in mental hospital.

The Deathless ones come back, if you listen to the recordings, when you kill one, they're just remade shortly after. Basically, lore friendly respawn power.
This video is funny but Rise of the Tomb Raider was a fantastic and clever game. I sincerely enjoyed playing it.

Sin #22 An old money rich dude like Lord Croft fucking a much younger girl that's like 5 years older than his own daughter happens all the time in real life.
sin#28 the language level game mechanic makes perfect sense. Word meaning, style, syntax, and grammar within the same language changes depending on the time period and the specific region or group of people; while Lara is fluent in those ancient languages, she needs to read a few easier documents from the same specific time period to get used to those languages to read a much longer and more difficult pillar. Adjusting to a language after reading a few dozen documents is more believable that the video suggesting that she learned an entire new language from reading documents when she should already know them.
sin #36 Those guys are trinity, their whole existence is to cover up the secrets of the prophet which they deem heretical, so rigging bombs in the prophets tomb does make sense, not just to create action
sin #115 if you actually read one of the game documents, it reveals that Anna manipulated Konstantin into believing that getting the divine source and saving Anna's life is god's will. So Anna is the selfish one, Konstantin is a victim that was manipulated by his older sister.
sin#125 Anna asked Lara to join her just after ordering her men to kill Lara moments ago because Ann is not being sincere and is only trying to manipulate Lara. Lara had a gun and Ann didn't have shit except for her words, so her only choice is to try to talk her way out of that situation.
sin#138 the rope Ascender tool is purchased using ancient coin that you find and dig up in game. It is not crazy expensive, and you can get it pretty early if you choose to get it before the other upgrades. There is enough coins in game you can dig up to purchase all upgrades.You would be retarded if you actually paid real money to get it.
sin#144 ancient people didn't have modern light projectors nor would they have foreseen the existence of modern technology to take it into consideration when encrypting the atlas.

They build their own little Empire in the Valley, surrounded by High Mountains and then BURIED the City under the ice, by causing major landslides and avalanches, as the City was under Siege by a huge mongolian Army, bought by Trinity, as they were just a small Order of fanatic Knights, lacking the raw Manpower für a Siege.
How do I know this? BECAUSE IT IS IN THE FUCKING GAME!!

Plus, in a document, it is said that the Scouts of the mongolians saw Movement up high in the Mountains, so my guess it the Deathless, Immortal Guards used Greek Fire to blow the Ice.

All in all, this was beyond Nitpicky, GCN... alot of those sins were either total made up bullshit, or YOU counting something as a sin, (someone who played through the game enterily) , DESPITE that the Sin was actually explained, or clarified later in the game, automatically making it no sin!
All in all, the other points in the game you counted as sin , are valid, and I agree, but the ones from Lupin and Me, are just utter Filler,

How is it Lara manages to go through so many guards, pickpocket them, and still end up with not enough of the things needed to make the tools she needs to progress in the game (climbing arrow, grappling hook, that thing that's literally just rope tied to one of her pickaxes)?

1:16 actually they explained why Sam isn't in the game, but it's often overlooked by players as I only after completing it some 7 times realized that when you get the AK47 in the gulag, you unlock some personal notes of Lara at the psychologist sessions (you have to go into the note menu to play them) that her uncle Atlas set up with Anna (you read about that in a note in Croft Manor). In one of those sessions Lara says she's no longer on speaking terms with Sam because of Yamatai and Lara's apparent mental difficulties afterwards. Although it's pretty fucked up, first the psychologist says she needs to speak to her friends about their Yamatai experiences, when Lara says she has the psychologist immediately blames her for sticking in the past????..... so still a sin point for that one.
The reason the psychologist contradicts her is because he was working for trinity, that’s why he was hired by Ana
I was extremely disappointed that Sam isn't in this game because I liked Sam but instead we get Jonah - the cook of the Endurance that had basically no role in the 2013 reboot Tomb Raider.
It says in the game that Sam didn't want to see Lara after what happened because she blames lara

You know the final scene with the sniper killing Ana poses a lot of problems. Number one, it implies that the sniper was there the whole time considering there’s no way trinity would have learned of the mission failing. This also says that Ana and Konstantin weren’t aware of his presence, which means that Trinity didn’t fully trust them yet sent them to collect an immensely powerful artifact anyway. And since trinity went to the island from the first game, they are fully aware of how dangerous Lara is so why they didn’t kill her and Ana at the same time is just asking for further problems

outstanding video bro, it takes an intense gameplay to find many of the loopholes of the entire plot of ROTTR. Specially, pointing out the usage of the same paragraph thrice in the newspaper in the cutscene blew my mind... Awesome work!!!😍
As a diehard Tomb Raider fan, I was expecting to hate this video but I loved it! The biggest sin to me is that some areas are inaccessible when you replay the game after beating it, making it impossible to get secrets if you didn't the first time around

Trinity must have been monitoring him as he followed me into the valley...” so Trinity recorded Jonah talking into the radio, meaning he wasn’t talking into the voice recorder at all. I sin YOU, GCN, for not realizing this. (I’m just joking I love these videos lol)
The part where Jacob says “I know what you’re all after” was not the only thing he said to convince Lara to set him free. He tried multiple suggestions that could really help her before that, like telling her he knows the place well, in which Lara still wasn’t convinced yet. If you just looked at her closely that time, you’ll see how Lara really preferred walking on hot coal rather than to try and trust someone as shady as Jacob.
If it was a movie it would be wrong but as gameplay goes it was bang on. And to my delight there was a sequel I didn't know about which I just started playing. Love it

couple more problems with the game.
1. Squeenix had the dumb idea to release this game the same day as Fallout 4 which definitely hurt this game's sales.
2. Isn't the Tomb Raider reboot series kind of copying the Uncharted games. 1st game set in a jungle environment. 2nd game set in a snowy environment. How much do you want to bet that Tomb Raider 3 (or whatever they call it) will be in a desert environment.

Nobody knew that Fallout 4 was gonna release this year until Bethesda said so at E3 (from what I recall), Squeenix releasing Rise of the Tomb Raider on the same day Bethesda released Fallout 4 is just a unfortunate coincidence.
what made the old tomb raider games so cool was u fought everything from people to dinosaurs.if they had that variety in gameplay with advanced graphics it would be the perfect tomb raider game.

I had this video in my "watch later" playlist for literally a year waiting till I got around to finish the game. The plot holes/ stupid dialog you pointed out is that main reason why half way thought the game I started skipping almost all the cut scenes. It was pretty obvious what they were going for in the story, I wasn't interested, but I found the gameplay pretty fun with the combat falling short. Like you said, I've got poison arrows, what else do I need?

Health regeneration depends on what difficulty you choose, the 1st one does have that thing automatically while the others don't.
Anyways, can you make a sin for the Baba Yaga DLC too? The final fight in it is more hardcore than the main campaign IMO.
Missed sin: Ending to this game with Ana and Lara walking through the snow is very similar to the scrapped ending scene from Tomb Raider: Underworld with Amanda and Lara walking through the snow, even with a similar conclusion - In Underworld's scrapped scene, Amanda tried to attack Lara and Lara shot Amanda dead. The game thinks I don't know about this ending, but I do.
The bonus round at the end is always fun

2 bonus sins. 1. At the final boss fight with Konstantin, I was attacking him with the dual axes and no death animations but as soon as I starting playing cat & mouse..death animations. 2. The Deathless Ones are a knockoff of the Shambhala Guardians from Uncharted 2. Plus I think they used the same sound bytes.

One thing I found irritating was going to the effort of having characters dressed up in climbing gear and not using as my of it, like Jonah just holding the rope when Lara falls at the start or the rope clearly being tied to the gear loop on Lara's harness despite them not being rated to catch a fall

A missed sin;
There is a massive game breaking glitch in the game. Around 40+ hours in, when in a research base, if you go back to a previous base camp after fighting some enemies, and then go back the enemies has respawned. However, a cutscene that is supposed to trigger to blow open a wall so you can get out, never occurs, so you will be stuck there, unable to progress. I found this bug, and had to replay most of the game (my back up was only like ten minutes into the game) so I had to replay basically the entire game until I got to that point again.
What is the song played before the video game song at the end? It's pretty catchy
I like this game better than uncharted4 it has more action and upgrades uncharted 4 is more story than gameplay
