Can we talk about how Joyce suffers a shit ton in every timeline, consequence/etc.? She loses the love of her life, wants the support of her daughter but said daughter becomes a rebel as a coping mechanism, has to go through stuff worrying about what Chloe does without the power to nothing because she doesn't listen to her, actually finds some comfort with a loving man (although a bit asshole-ish), still gets shit because now she's "replacing dad with another", almost positive she feels guilty for his death and THEN has to deal with the loss of her daughter too. Without even having some real "mother-daughter" moments because Chloe was too busy bickering with her and David. i mean JESUS
When I was playing before the storm I tried to be nice to her but every option you pick still screws Joyce over in one way or another (David too actually, cause you could see there that he was really trying), and that makes it really frustraiting when the game acts like you`re the mean one because you made those choices
yeah I know right, in life is strange: before the storm it’s so incredibly annoying how Chloe doesn’t cut her any slack, all your response options to Joyce are so disrespectful, I could never with my own mother even after what happened
Surprised they didn't mention this one: In Episode 1 if you don't hide in Chloe's closet in time, Chloe will blame the weed on Max to David, and your decision is whether or not to take the blame or deny fault. It was honestly one of Chloe's jerkiest moves in the game, considering David does work for the school and Max could easily have her scholarship on the line.
Should’ve sined how in car crashes you have to be at the exact right moment at the exact right time so if you stalled Chloe’s dad for even one second he wouldn’t be in a car crash
well no, a couple seconds, not exactly 1 because it still would've clipped. But either way William would've still been alive if you stalled for 1 second, still changing the timeline
Dart ever heard of traffic lights? If you arrive 10 seconds earlier or 10 seconds afterwards, you’ll still be at the same spot in time when the traffic light turns green
xNAMx10 I didn’t know traffic lights were 10 seconds. Also I’m pretty sure they were exaggerating on purpose when saying you had to wait one second. Even if they weren’t, leaving less than 10 seconds would still have a difference. Especially given different traffic lights’ areas. If he was stalled 5 seconds, he would still be delayed and a crash could still be prevented
@@mimsycookiiess im not saying the traffic lights are 10 seconds im saying HE arrives 10 seconds early or late depending on max. its hard to explain over text but its like the traffic light lasts for 60 seconds and william arrives normally when the traffic light has 40 seconds left but when max stalls him he leaves 10 or 20 seconds later so he would arrive when its 30 or 20 seconds left on the traffic light so he would have ended up there at the same time either way. i know it looks complicated but its because i had to type it out.
41:51 Well, I payed attention to the game and still was surprised AF when the teacher turned out to be the BDSM photographer dude... And in one of the final scenes when we get back to the beginning of the game in the classroom I had goosebumps when I realized he was hinting it in his speech..
i think these douche bags just wanna seem cLever. they aLways say every twist or betrayaL is obvious. that teacher is bareLy shown i nearLy forgot about him. it was a great twist.
You could try, it's a sin that she didn't, but allow me to overanalyze here: why would anyone listen to a teenage girl screaming about impending doom? (Even if she worded it a bit more saneley than that.) Also, if the storm is caused by her interference and follows her and her actions, there's every chance some horrible fates would still occur elsewhere she went or where the majority of Arcadia bay residents went as she would be massively changing the destiny of the entire town by evacuating it. (Like with Chloe, and every time she saves Chloe, Chloe keeps dying again.)
Nobody would listen to a teenager talking about a doom tornado at the end of the week. Although people would be impressed that she also mentioned a snowstorm ahead of time. Holy shit, she knew about that eclipse? How?? Wow, whales beaching too? I'm out of here!
"Is changing your hai color enough to make Max not recognize her?" Later in the video "Chloe changed her appearance so how did Max notice her with the blue hair?" Wtf?
Not to mention: when you don't see your friend for 5 years it's natural that you don't *instantly* recognize them. And if that's not enough she dyed her hair, cut it short, started wearing punky-tomboyish clothes and got herself a tattoo. HOW was max supposed to know "yup, that's Chloe alright"??
+Deandre Webb This game had some of the worst "hip" teenage dialogue I have ever heard. Some of the lines the characters said made parts of me shrivel up and die forever.
What I find so interesting about this game is it's fanbase. Reading all these comments I realise how different everyone's opinions on the game are! I've never seen such a division between one fanbase like this one, we've got people who hate Chloe then people who don't, we've got people who love Warren then those who think he's flat out annoying. It's so mixed....
@@Freelancer837 well it was complete garbage and wasted at least 70 hours of people's lives so it's justified. O mean, imagine actually liking that game ... EA 👉👌 Mass Effect fans
He was actually the last person I predicted. Thought the bottle of whiskey in the dark room pointed towards the principal. Thought that was set up well. Don't agree with there being a "million clues".
19:10 if you look at her schedule, her lit teacher is sick so her first class is cancelled It happens again the day she slept over at chloe's (thursday i think)
Okay, i have a HUGE problem with the game that leads up to the ending... When Max goes back to the past to Save Chloe's father.... when she rights her mistake, why doesn't she tell Chloe "Hey, in the future your going to meet someone named Rachael Amber, you need to make sure she does not Associate with Nathan Prescott" sure it would be stupid, but it wouldn't be any more stupid than what we actually got in the game
choosing not to kiss chloe doesnt have to mean youre homophobic or you dont like her. it could mean that you simply dont ship it and that you want them to be friends. (regardless of whether its cannon or not in maxs diary) is it just inevitable that a girl will always fall in love with her best friend? im taking this too seriously
You are right though. It doesn't make you homophobic. I ship Pricefield, but I can totally also see them as just best friends for life. Both are plausible (Although I think Pricefield is a bit more likely considering how disappointed Chloe sounds if you don't kiss her.)
I know that wasn't the main part of your comment, but I would like to dispute one of your points. It's not totally a cliche that a girl will always fall in love with her best friend. I have three best friends and I have fallen in love with all three of them (two of them long-distance, which only makes the situation more frustrating for me). It's less a fiction cliche and more of an in real life cliche that unfortunately happens to most people. Best friends = strong emotional connection + (usually) lots of time together. That usually leads to you thinking of them romantically AT LEAST a few times, sometimes even leading to full-on love that you'll never move on from completely.
Not only that, but Max is also really shy. She might simply be too afraid to go through with the kiss. Obviously Chloe didn't expect her to. On the other hand she might also go through with the kiss even if she doesn't have any romantic feelings for Chloe (or is in denial about them) simply because of the dare. Two of my friends once kissed because of a dare and they definitely don't have anything going on between them. It totally had the two kiss on my first playthrough, but on my second playthrough I decided against it to see what would happen differently. There are many reasons to not take the kiss besides homophobia. Besides, being able to not kiss Chloe, even if you never pick the option makes that romantic moment way more powerful and engaging for the player. I also found it kind of stupid of them to give the game shit for having Chloe not use the L word (love or lesbians, you decide) when talking about Rachel, because it totally makes sense. It's pretty clear that Chloe had a giant crush on Rachel anyway, and since Chloe always has a lot of trouble admitting "emotional weakness" for someone it would be kind of OOC for her to admit this when Max finds that photo. The game is always pretty subtle when it comes to Rachel. It never tells you outright what she was like, it just gives you clues and leaves it up to you to figure it out.
Pretty sure that was made jokingly. These sins videos kinda do that every now and then. What I don't like is how some sins are legitimate well-thought-out sins, and some are just jokes and even just noticing a detail. The inconsistency is jarring, and it makes me wonder sometimes if they really means something as a joke or as a real criticism. Granted, most of the time, it's obvious, but sometimes it's not. Like with you being confused here and taking that joke seriously. Or maybe he was being serious and I'm taking it as a joke. See? We don't know. It's confusing.
47:31 "Max has never once told Chloe that she can travel through time by looking at photos. So how does Chloe know about that particular ability?" Actually, she does mention that when she goes back using Warren's photo to talk Chloe out of going into the party. After explaining how everything was going to go to shit and how she made the mistake of trying to change Chloe's past, she tells Chloe that in a few minutes (once she leaves her past body to return to the present), she won't remember this conversation, and asks Chloe to fill her in when that happens and "explain that I travelled through time using the photo."
Right, anything with two eyes and common sense would see the tornado and gtfo of there.

A freak snowfall (or hail) in the summer is remotely possible, but A FUCKING ECLIPSE that wasn't predicted would freak the entire planet's scientific communities or something fierce. Someone doesn't understand how the solar system works. 1000 sins just for that.
for snow to happen, wouldnt it have to be unseasonally cold though? they mentioned when it happened that it was 80 degrees when the snow fell? but i still agree with your 1000 sins
7 років тому+2
Mochirin it can be very cold high in a zone of the atmosphere and the snow could fall down and melt really fast (usually not reaching the ground or becoming hailstones for it to reach the ground). It's not impossible or stupid, but the eclipse and the moon stuff are retardedly impossible.
Komninos Maraslidis i know snow can happen all year round high in the atmosphere but at 80 degrees it would turn into rain once it gets to the point where we can see it. and it wasnt hail since we can see it was a gentle snow fall. either way, at least meteorologists would be like wtf with that snow. and like i said earlier, i agree that the unscheduled eclipse would freak the whole world. 1000000 sins
You missed one, at the event when running into David and Kate ( at 10:45 ), you can choose to take a photo, rewind time and then intervene,... but for some reason, you will not have the picture, tho, if you pick up an item and rewind time, you will still have that item on you.... If you did take a photo and rewound time to intervene, Max will later talk about "I wish I took a photo" or something like that....
Guess what? It's the same for some dialogue pop - ups! There are many, many mess-ups in that game. E.g. why did max fear to forget everything that happened with Jefferson, but could still keep the memories forged inside of the William-alive timeline?
It's because the situation never happend if she rewinds and intervene, so the film blacks out. You can see the same when she returns in time thru a photo and the going forward in the changed timeline, the photos burn the events that didn't happen in the new timeline, and get changed with the ones that did.
Probably been said already, but I couldn't find it, so. Max can rewind in the past because, although she's in the body of her younger self, it's still her older self in control. Max said it best with "I'm 18 years old inside my 13 year old self". Basically, Max's rewind power is connected to her mind, not the body she's currently a part of.
11:52 - I love how Chloe's licence plate reads as 'Twin Peaks' which as most people know is a show about similar small town and weird shit going-on's. Also love how Chloe parked across two lanes and Max dissing the owner as having no respect for handicapped people even though Chloe is handicapped in an alternate timeline later on in the game. Like they said, nice foreshadowing DONTNOD.
@NormalSodaGuy I think it’s because in the bathroom Max was only able to hear Chloes voice and Nathan was kinda in the way to where anyone could see Chloes full face, but with the car scene Max was able to hear Chloes voice and look her in the eyes, maybe lol
She sounded like the voice actress of Alyssa and another character that voice actress did the voice of. Maybe she filled in for her for that scene for some reason.
@@talizorahnarrayya8166 ; i know this is old, but sherry and chérie are pronounced differently and she said "sherry" although it's most likely because the voice actress didn't pronounce it properly
@@milannoelle1576 totally! someone as pretentious as Victoria would've definitely pronounced cherie properly and in an over the top French accent as well. Shay- reeeeeeeeee 😂
During the finale I decided to save Chloe, because I was like: this is just an evil prank! i've seen that the storm is coming no matter what I do in alternate timelines! but you can't play me game, I'm smart. And then I realized that they were serious and that that really was the ending. I wasn't even emotional because I was to busy being confused and disappointed.
@@PhantomRing I mean yeah cool but literally none of those people are real, but the 15+ hours I invested into keeping Chloe's stupid ass alive were very, very real
I find it weird that nobody's mentioning the fact that probably most of the people would survive. Yeah, some of these people would probably be injured, some maybe killed but it's not like around 5000 people died because it's unrealistic. Even for that game. Yeah, In E1 of LiS2 you can see that there's a memorial for people killed by the storm but it's not saying that everyone got killed because... it would be hella weird. Look at the data. Katrina in 2005 killed less than 2000 people but affected 15 Million and went through 5 states. Other than that, I didn't save her 3 (or 15, if you would count the train sequence from 2nd episode) times to just let her die. Furthermore, the whole world building suggests that this tornado will come either way. It's not a coincidence that Prescotts built entire bunker with prepper stuff in it. It's also not a coincidence that this bunker have a "Stormbreaker" name. So yeah. Go, save Chloe and stop bitching about a city and people. This is probably the strongest message I got from this game. No matter what would you do, the stuff will happen and you can only hurt yourself and people you love by postponing inevitable.
@@PhantomRing It's also very selfish to murder your best friend or lover to save a town of people who can save themselves just so you don't feel guilty for killing them. Yes, we can say that Chloe was already dead but Max went back and saved her, now to go back and let her die is like pushing her into an oncoming train, hoping that it will stop it from killing more people down the track. Neither Max or Chloe know for sure that going back and letting Chloe die will stop the storm. Max said, it was time to stop messing with time.. but using the photo to go back in time AGAIN is just more messing with time. At this point I always say it's time for Max to take responsibility for her actions, deal with the consequences, and move on with Chloe towards a new life.. fuck that town.
@@PhantomRing the way I look at it, that town had a week of weird shit going on to prepare. They had bomb shelters in town. They were too busy being petty, ignoring the weird shit, and partying to wise up and get out of dodge. even Warren said, "How the hell did I ignore all those warnings, Max? The snow, the eclipse... I’m so stupid... I should have seen it coming...". There is no way I'd give up Chloe for that town, especially considering Max did not ask for her power.. why was she given the power if she wasn't meant to use it? My Max makes her own destiny. I also know that given the chance, Joyce would rather die in that storm than see Chloe to be killed in that bathroom by Nathan.
Here's another question: If the universe is trying to punish Max for messing with time, then why does she even _have_ powers? She didn't ask for time rewinding powers. What was the point of the game in the first place if she was just gonna be punished for something even she doesn't know about!? (*ding*) Also, why didn't Max ask herself in the nightmare why she has powers, or why didn't alt Max tell her why? (*ding*)
another thing. she still has her memories and messed with the timeline so how does everything go back to normal? shouldn't she at least get amnesia or some thing so she doesn't remember it?
Maybe she wasn't "given" powers. I mean, who would "give" her powers? Who has time magic to give away? Maybe she just willed those powers into existence. Maybe she always had them. She could be a pagan witch for all we know.
Can someone explain to me what's so likeable about Chloe? She has her moments, but for the most part she just bitch and moans and takes her frustrations out on the wrong people. On that same note, is Max supposed to be a likeable character? Despite what she says, she clearly gives 0 fucks about anybody outside of Chloe, which is strange seeing how she was in no rush to contact Chloe in the beginning of the game... suspect -__-
Yeah I totally get what you mean, Max and Chloe are flawed characters, but I think that's one of the reasons why I like them. They're not perfect, they have good and bad sides to them and they have problems. Idk I think that makes them more relatable. And I think Chloe definitely started off seeming like a person who only really cared about herself. But then throughout the game she went through some serious character development. It's shown that she's gone through a lot of hard stuff in her life and she's lost a lot of people, and I think that broke her and that's why she always thinks the world is out to get her. Also, she owned up to acting like a bitch about Kate's call and she genuinely apologised for that. But I think the biggest change in her character is that she went from someone who only looks out for herself to someone who was willing to sacrifice her own life for other people. I think spending those days with Max made her a better person.
the problem with Chloe is a standard sin of all writers that don't quite think their stuff through: they give her too many rebellious, angsty, Nobody Loves Me So I'll Be A Bitch To Every Living Creature moments over too short a period of time. the trick is to insert a character trait that would make her likeable, then one that's not, then two more likeable and one that's not. and so on and so forth. that's how you get a relatable character. here, she practically loses most of her fans by the end of episode 2 with how incredibly dumb she is. then, to add insult to injury, she blames Max for her weed bust at the beginning of episode 3. i could never care for her any more until the very end of the season. they did a similar thing with Nathan: his first scene gives you an idea that he's just a troubled teenager, then he's just a gigantic asshole until pretty much when you find out about his father. again, no fans for him (just check how many gamers decided to blame him for Kate at the end of e2). Max is okay but she's way too simplified. like they said in the video, Victoria is not only the most fleshed out villain but the most fleshed out character of them all. i just have the feeling she was the one person the writer had a lot of fun sketching out
Can totally understand you.Max is OK, But she was too simplicated, they focused too much in her friendship with chloe and fucked a little up Chloe ,I did not care about her,as You said, she had her moments, but she is not the big thing, plus, she looked like she was using max to find Rachel more than anything else, I felt like she did not really apreciate Max like Warren and Kate did (characters that deserve max' friendship more than chloe,in my opinion)
Ariel Robinson you know I’ve always wondered what this dude wanted from games like this. He wants the game to fully cater to your choices but it’s supposed to be as realistic as possible so is having every little choice affect the story good writing? Noo cause other characters will make choices that can make yours obsolete no matter what. Jeez learn to sin half this dudes sins doesn’t make sense I’ve rewatched these videos a few time and his walking sins videos makes no sense sometimes. He sins things that were clearly told to him. Rant over
ASMRWhisperLight., why everyone always whines about that in life is strange? Why not other gMes? Why not The Walking Dead? It has one ending but and its a choose game but it doesnt matter right. Its only about life is strange. Fuck people like you.
Dream City lol fucking calm down. I was just trying to make a humorous observation using a quote from this video. I’ve never even played this game or the walking dead, I just like gaming sins giving games crap.
In my interpretation, the "Save Chloe" ending made sense in a way that Chloe always witted about "Trashing this place and leaving", so, in a little dramatic way, they did just that by the end.
I feel like you've missed some of the points about mental health with this game... at least with Kate. Suicide is complicated and cannot be boiled down to 'feeling beyond redemption', Max was searching through Kate's room for evidence that could help (most likely, and it actually helps you talk her down from the roof) and Max not reporting the blood on walls and photo could be about not wanting to burden anyone or maybe she's too scared since what she received was a threat about tattling. Max is already painted as a gossiper among the adults so she might not want to give them more to take on. The rest I mostly agree with though!
I really do love this game. Don't get me wrong. This game gives me so many emotions. But there are a *lot* of fucking cliches. And the fact that they're not playing Gorillaz is _definetly_ a sin.
4:30 I would argue "yes" - when my little sister dyed her hair blue a couple years ago, I only recognized her because she was the only other person in the house at the time.
Exactly, plus Max hasn't seen her in five years, and Chloe looks quite different from before. Not to mention, it's kinda hard to focus on recognizing someone when they're about to be shot.
48:40 if you sacrifice Chloe: Kate Marsh is seen still alive at Chloe's funeral, and therefore didn't kill herself; Rachel went missing month's before the game even started, pretty sure we can assume she is still dead; Nathan gets arrested for shooting Chloe and he is clearly insane so of course he tattles on Jefferson, getting him arrested too. The details are pretty clear. Granted it would be cool for you to meet Rachel during that "lost in time fever dream" but it makes perfect sense for Max to only be able to see people she has actually met before that point. And yes, saving Alyssa is completely useless.
chloe: so you haven't talked to me in five years and are already besties with some blackwells chick? also chloe: didn't talk to max in five years and became besties with some blackwells chick
if u play as Chloe in Before the Storm, u will see how many times Chloe tries to text Max lol...It was just one-way text, Max didnt even reply her eventho she promised to make a call with Chloe on the weekend after she moved to Seatle. Chloe was desperate and Rachel came to her, she was hesitate to make friend in the beginning but who wouldnt fall for a girl like Rachel lol
19:09 If you look at her class schedule in episode one she mentions that her first class is cancelled because her teacher is out sick. Still weird that they have a bus taking students into town during the day while classes are going on, though.
Chaos Theory involves believing one event no matter how insignificant it may seem in the long run is part of a larger picture. Chloe's destiny isn't "to die", her destiny is to die at the hands of Nathan in the bathroom. Her surviving that incident is the direct link to the storm. If you choose to save her, the storm happens and destroys Arcadia Bay and presumably every inhabitant. Her destiny was averted and Chaos Theory reigned. It is logically consistent.
With what you said about kissing Chloe, it doesn't seem like anybody values platonic friendships in stories anymore. You make it seem like if its not romantic its not valid, as if those are the only kind of relationships that mean something. I just wish people wouldn't decide that every girl-girl friendship in a game or show should be a romantic relationship. Friendship can be just as close
The developers obviously put that option in for a reason. He was just stating the obvious. The game dev's want you to kiss Chloe. There isn't any other reason why they would put it in there.
@@Gun_Metal_Grey Where you lives, The hair, The weird music, The absence of taste, The funny toys, The way you dress, The niche drugs... YOU'RE a hipster!

4:29 Hair color, WHOLE different style of clothing, makeup, and the fact that it's been YEARS since they have seen or even talked to each other someone these sins are just dumb af
43:58 Yes. The Storm is tied to Chloe's destiny. There are things bigger than one person's life at stake here. In the original timeline before Max discovers having powers, Chloe dies in the bathroom at the hands of Nathan. He's immediately taken to jail. Then he rats out Jefferson. Justice is served and the Dark Room is no longer used to torture and kill young women. Fate or destiny or whatever you want to call it wanted Chloe to die right then. Because Max interferes with the natural flow of SpaceTime, it begins to unravel. Granted I have no idea how Chloe not dying in the bathroom leads to dying animals and freak weather, but that's the Butterfly Effect for you. Somehow there's a chain of events that go from Chloe's lack of dying to beached whales. The point is, even though Chloe is dead in this timeline. She died days after she was supposed to, in a junkyard. That coupled with the hundreds of other kinks in the flow of time this week is causing the storm to brew. This is similar to Back To The Future where Doc Brown talks about how Marty's parents never falling in love could lead to a rupture in the SpaceTime continuum, which may eventually lead to the destruction of the universe, or perhaps localized to just this galaxy. Not immediately, but if certain things aren't put back the way they were, a paradox could wreck with the very fabric of reality. It's why many argue time travel cannot be possible. If one were to go back in time and change events even a little bit, that theoretically could have dramatic effects centuries later, and as Chaos Theory dictates, the factors involved are so numerous it's impossible to anticipate or predict them. Ultimately the only way to stop the storm is for Max to go back to when she first used her powers and not use them. In fact, it's not just Chloe that all this is connected. It's Max's abuse of time manipulation. If a week later she tried to save Frank's dog from running out in a street and getting run over by a truck, the whole storm thing would probably happen again. So perhaps the only way to really win this game is not to play it. Not to save Chloe in the first place, and never use powers of time manipulation for personal gain. There's a life lesson for you: trying to make things better often backfires. You're better off doing nothing. That's not a pleasant moral for any story.
Nah, he already said that the game is the better with choices because they really change the finale of the history. He also really likes walking dead from telltale but pretends he doesn't because it's him 😂😂😂😂😂
To all those questions that remained unanswered: 1. Kate doesn't try to commit suicide. When you bring Jefferson and Nathan to justice, she knows that it wasn't her fault, and everybody else knows it, so she doesn't feel as hopeless as she did when she was on that roof. 2. Yes Rachel Amber is still dead. She died before the bathroom incident and when Max retconned everything, she only affected the events that occurred after the bathroom. Anything before then was out of her control. 3. No, Mark Jefferson was not killed. He was brought to the police, as shown in the photo montage thing. 4. The lighthouse was probably, as Geek Remix said, a symbol of safety. Just a place for Max and Chloe to wait out the storm. 5. Remember the plant thing? Overdoing things in the pursuit of perfection can lead to disastrous consequences, or something along those lines? If you don't do anything exactly right with Alyssa, then you try to talk to her in episode 5, she'll back up and fall to her death. It's just a reiteration of that. 6. I agree, there was a lot more that could have been done with Rachel. There are some amazing theories on this website, go check them out if anyone is interested. 7. Nathan's plotline probably had to be scrapped because of timing. There wasn't enough time for whatever destiny complex Papa Prescott had anymore than there was time for that girl's tablet with cat photos. My point is, some of these answers were either common sense or shown in the montage that happens when you see the repercussions of you letting Chloe die in the bathroom. You end this rant about these questions with "Details, you motherfuckers! They are important." The answers were in the details, man.
Clicking "Read More" gets you a wall of text, fair warning. All sins written in good spirits. 19:20 But...Max does have a dialogue option where she can offer to get the homeless woman something from the diner. 21:12 Seriously? Look where Chloe is holding her hand. I'm no doctor, but I bet if you shot yourself right there, even from a richochet, you would either be dead or well on your way to death. Chloe dies nearly instantaneously from a gut shot earlier, but is still able to stand after a bullet wound in or near her heart? Yeah no. Then again, this is the only gunshot wound in the game with no blood, so maybe it didn't actually penetrate...some how? 22:42 Chloe and Max stroll down the middle of the tracks immediately after Chloe almost got run over by a train on those same tracks. Let's also not forget they heard the train going by while they were still in the junkyard. Sigh. 24:07 Depending on your choices with Kate and how you talk to her, this scene can be incredibly emotional, or can ping pong wildly between Kate calming down and becoming hysterical again. Look, I get she's in an incredibly fragile mental state, but consistency isn't a suggestion. Some of the dialogue choices give a more organic feel to that scene, so it's especially jarring when others don't. 29:46 And yet, this is pretty much exactly what Max ends up doing, even though Chloe's explanation was all messed up. Chloe, when Max rewinds, she is the only one unaffected. You telling Max to rewind so Frank wouldn't see her makes no sense. You would be rewound right along with Frank, and since he saw you before with the distraction, he would still see you after the rewind. 30:02 The ant vortex is all wrong. I'll disregard the fact ants wouldn't walk around in a spiral like that, because it's the game's vortex imagery, I get it. Pass. Still, vortex or not, that bird would be in the center of whatever grouping the ants were forming. It being off to the side makes no sense in real life or the game. 31:49 So, have you read Michael Crichton's "Timeline"? It's a great book, if you're fan, but my point is it's about time travel, except not. In that book, the characters don't actually time travel, just jump between different universes that are each traveling through time at different speeds. In essence, if Max's powers are connected more to her consciousness and mind, rather than to her physical body, then Max doesn't time travel, she just jumps between different universe Maxs? / Maxes? / Maxi? (names weren't meant to be plural like that). This theory is somewhat supported by Max meeting herself at the end of the game, and makes as much sense as anything else in explaining her powers in this scene. 32:56 Well, that explanation of Chaos Theory is only valid if you wildly stretch it and simplify it. Kind of. Saying Chaos Theory is the "Shit Happens" bumper sticker is like saying the Mona Lisa is the same as, I don't know, the Transformers movies, because both...use images and colors? 33:16 Even in an alternate timeline, Warren still passes up Brooke for someone else. Poor Brooke, or that's what I would be saying if the game didn't actively try to make her petty and unlikable. 33:21 So...Kate's definitely dead in this AU, right? I mean Max was pretty much the only person that could convince Kate to come down from the roof, and in this reality, we see from Max's texts that she's kind of spoiled and entitled, basically, she's out Victoria-ing Victoria. It doesn't seem likely that AU Max would have made that effort to seek out and comfort Kate, from what little we can glean about her alternate's character. Either that, or Kate happened to never go to Blackwell at all. 38:59 Hardy Boyz? A wrestling reference, really? They wanted to ask questions, so the reference is probably “Hardy Boys”, the series of teen mystery novels from the 70s. The game already uses a bunch of out of date references, so it’s not so far fetched. But hey, you hear hooves, you go ahead and think zebras all you want. 39:48 Well Max, inputting the correct code into something usually results in said something unlocking. That’s kind of the point. 41:36 So, the whole trying to get into the VIP area was BS, right? After Max gets in and chats up the partygoers, we see Chloe enter the VIP area from some side door. And no, Max didn’t leave the area before meeting Chloe. She walked past the bouncer to get in, but never walked past a bouncer to leave. Why not just enter through that side door with Chloe. 44:16 Well, that's not strictly what we find out about Chloe and the storm. Due to the sacrifice Chloe ending, we see that allowing Chloe to die before all the signs start cancels the storm, the key point being Chloe dying before the effects of her not dying start happening. You can go back in time to put out the match that starts the forest fire. But dumping water on the match when the forest is already blazing? Not going to help. 44:50 So, why didn’t Mr. Jefferson kill Kate? I mean he nonchalantly mentions that he plans on murdering Max to her face, but Kate gets to walk away, and he’s even nice enough to take her back to her dorm? Is all this because he was pretty sure Kate never saw anything incrimenating? Because that’s pretty shaky logic for a serial kidnapper who’s supposedly careful enough to gain shelves full of victim mementos. And as Kate’s conversations with Max demonstrate, she did in fact remember details about her kidnapping location. Did Mr. Jefferson have romantic feelings for Kate? Was he always planning on doing a round two with the traumatized girl? Did he even have a reason? 45:22 Me? I was just going to sin Evan for that haircut, tornado or not. Then again, when I was in high school I grew my hair out several inches and bleached it because I wanted blonde-ish hair, so glass houses? Still counting it as a sin though. 45:30 So, that rain is traveling at a nearly vertical angle with the ground. Is this a tornado or a normal thunderstorm, because the game’s visuals seem confused on this important point. If the wind is strong enough to fling whales into the street and kill Evan with a piece of debris, it is strong enough to blow the rain at a greater angle. 47:15 You’re Max, she’s Max, we’re all Max. You share more than a last name. 47:30 Or, that photo could simply blow away into the storm, since neither of you are grasping it strongly enough for tornado force winds. 48:53 Wait, what do you mean, “is Rachel Amber still dead?” She’s been missing for a little over 6 months. You rewind back less than a week. Unless Nathan kept Rachel captive for half a year before killing her, then Rachel Amber is totally dead, dude, and has been for some time. Oh, you actually read this far? Cool.
It is not confirmed 100%, but from the fact that when Max travels through a photo into the past and changes something, the player can see some photographs being burned (facts that are 'undone'), it is likely that alternate timeline disappears, carrying its consequences into the real timeline (and only one). But it's true that in two points in the game, Max wonders whether there are alternate realities or not.
Fun fact! Theres a disorder where your literally unable to recognize people based of facial features alone amd thus have to rely on other things such as clothing style, hair color or style and that persons voice! its called prosopagnosia! But chloe obviously doesnt have that so it has no relevance to the hair-color-change-means-unrecognizability sin. just something cool to know about =D
I got a sin to point out. When in chloe's room, when she first reveals her gun, max says 'I thought you believed in gun control.' 'I do, I believe I should be the one controlling the gun. It's the men that need to be watched.' That's sexist. *Ding!*
She also shot herself. Also not relevant but she was gonna take money from the colleges disability fund. Yeah shes the one i want to talk about gun control about

Choosing "Don't kiss Chloe" means I either hate her or are homophobic? It can't just be that I'm not attracted to Chloe romantically and prefer to put Max with Kate instead?
I just profoundly hated chloe. Nothing against max having a partner, but just for me , she wasnt her true pair. Also, chloe sometimes is an asshole to max
You missed the fact that Max can store items in her pocket and remains in their but the kate choice ep.1 you can't keep the photo of kate and david after u rewind and see a different outcome
47:35 you're wrong here. She told Chloe that she can travel through time using a photo when she traveled through her selfie with Warren. At the end of their conversation, she literally tells "in a few minutes I won't remember any of this. Just explain to me that I traveled through time using a photo."
47:31 When you go back with Warren's photo, Max says "You'll have to tell me exactly what I did and said just now. Just explain that I traveled through time using the photo."
Also 100 sins against this video for not sinning the fact that the whole Max saves William creating an alternate timeline where William is still alive but Chloe is paralyzed due to a car accident is clearly the game stealing the plot scenario of "someone who has superpowers that includes time travel saving a parental figure resulting in a new timeline where every is messed up" from the the Flashpoint comic from DC comics. Or to phrase it in a clever way that you guys "Maxpoint"
As her photo was ripped off, Jefferson was angry, so he burned her diary, so the first time travel could never happen, so did all that came after it, those explaining why Max couldn’t warn David. But, honestly, if I were her, I’d have written on a piece of paper that Jefferson is evil so that when “autopilot Max” takes over once the photo was ripped off, she can read it and possibly trust this word once she finds out it comes from future her as she discovers her powers.
yeah here's the sin for you Sinners at the very end when you're giving your motivative words when you say (call the person you've lost touch with)how are you supposed to call them if you lost touch with them DETAILS MAN!!! Sin Counter: 1
Extra sin: Removing the time power when talking to kate on the roof is pointless plot-wise. Because you can restart back to the last savepoint. The last save point is when you get onto the roof. Therefore, you can keep chatting with her as many times you want to save her ass.
Chloe is drastically different from when they were 5 years younger. As for Max recognizing Chloe the second time, she was DIRECTLY in front of her, unlike in the bathroom where she was far away, and she was looking at Nathan 95% of that moment. There's no way Max could've recognized her.
Okay, I'm sorry, but the sin about driving the car is stupid because she might just not OWN a car. She's not rich. I can drive, but I don't have a car. So I take the bus or a friend drives me!
I've had quite a few playthroughs where I didn't kiss Chloe because I want Max to be with Warren, Chloe is her best friend and I feel she wouldn't want to be with Max just after she found her ex-girlfriend/bestfriend dead. You know?
Hella Sydney i feel you. I did it the same way. Max should be there for her on an emotional level but still letting her feel the pain of losing someone so she can properly let go and not forcing herself in a realstionsship with someone she hasnt seen in years who changed so much just to cover up the pain of losing Rachel.
If you read Max's journal, it actually shows that she has absolutely no interest in Warren, for example when you agree to "go APE" with him, she writes that she hopes that Warren won't make "a lame move" on her, and even if you don't kiss Chloe, Max writes in her journal that she wishes she had. Max and Warren were never really meant to be.
Alien Kid I KNOW RIGHT I feel particularly bad of the "go ape thing" because I understand that situation Warren, come on *Don't* But Christ Warren is so damn cute
actually you can change that i wrote on warren board "you are cute" and she calls him when he save her from nathan his with knight and they can kiss so your ship can be cannon 1 year later ik

Yep Joyce deserves so much better.
@@ninashaven Mrs. Madsen is a strong woman with a devil spawn for a daughter. She should've had Chloe arrested and thrown in jail.
@@katemarsh7146 girl u going a bit too far
Surprised they didn't mention this one: In Episode 1 if you don't hide in Chloe's closet in time, Chloe will blame the weed on Max to David, and your decision is whether or not to take the blame or deny fault. It was honestly one of Chloe's jerkiest moves in the game, considering David does work for the school and Max could easily have her scholarship on the line.
Also it makes it hard if you blame David for what happened to Kate.
Btw, no sins for two girls going to a junkyard in the middle of the night because some weirdo text them (+obvious trap is obvious) ?
Max shouldn't have been hanging out in a crime scene in the first place.
Should’ve sined how in car crashes you have to be at the exact right moment at the exact right time so if you stalled Chloe’s dad for even one second he wouldn’t be in a car crash
omggg that’s exactly what i was thinking it was pissing me off
well no, a couple seconds, not exactly 1 because it still would've clipped.

You could literally use a photo, go back in time, and evacuate Arcadia Bay, but didn't.
+150 sins
You could try, it's a sin that she didn't, but allow me to overanalyze here: why would anyone listen to a teenage girl screaming about impending doom? (Even if she worded it a bit more saneley than that.)
Also, if the storm is caused by her interference and follows her and her actions, there's every chance some horrible fates would still occur elsewhere she went or where the majority of Arcadia bay residents went as she would be massively changing the destiny of the entire town by evacuating it. (Like with Chloe, and every time she saves Chloe, Chloe keeps dying again.)
Nobody would listen to a teenager talking about a doom tornado at the end of the week.
Although people would be impressed that she also mentioned a snowstorm ahead of time.

Okay, i have a HUGE problem with the game that leads up to the ending... When Max goes back to the past to Save Chloe's father.... when she rights her mistake, why doesn't she tell Chloe "Hey, in the future your going to meet someone named Rachael Amber, you need to make sure she does not Associate with Nathan Prescott" sure it would be stupid, but it wouldn't be any more stupid than what we actually got in the game
chloe se envolveu com muitos caras problematicos, jeferson, nathan, frank, e por ai vai
two words: butterfly effect.. if it wasnt rachel amber, it couldve been someone else.. like kate or victoria or max
choosing not to kiss chloe doesnt have to mean youre homophobic or you dont like her. it could mean that you simply dont ship it and that you want them to be friends.
I know right? And there's also people who just prefer Max and Warren.
...
There _are_ people who prefer Max and Warren, right? :/
It's confusing.
the minus sins were gold. I laughed my ass off everytime, especially when Warren beats up Nathan
47:31 "Max has never once told Chloe that she can travel through time by looking at photos. So how does Chloe know about that particular ability?"
Actually, she does mention that when she goes back using Warren's photo to talk Chloe out of going into the party.
Honestly, the tornado was as slow as a snail and literally everyone in the town could have escaped it, but, the game demands it.

Mochirin it can be very cold high in a zone of the atmosphere and the snow could fall down and melt really fast (usually not reaching the ground or becoming hailstones for it to reach the ground). It's not impossible or stupid, but the eclipse and the moon stuff are retardedly impossible.
Komninos Maraslidis i know snow can happen all year round high in the atmosphere but at 80 degrees it would turn into rain once it gets to the point where we can see it. and it wasnt hail since we can see it was a gentle snow fall. either way, at least meteorologists would be like wtf with that snow.

If you did take a photo and rewound time to intervene, Max will later talk about "I wish I took a photo" or something like that....
Daniel Bang The reason why is because she practically never took the photo. It would just be black as in not used film.
JD Akane but every other picture is fine with time travel in the game
@@maya2papayaa no its a massive plothole
Yeah that's true.Or perhaps she always had that power but never had the need to use it until Chloe's death in the bathroom.

Sacrifice the town🔥
(*ding*)
Also, why didn't Max ask herself in the nightmare why she has powers, or why didn't alt Max tell her why? (*ding*)
Because the devs have a season 2 planned. *(Hella ding)*
another thing. she still has her memories and messed with the timeline so how does everything go back to normal? shouldn't she at least get amnesia or some thing so she doesn't remember it?
Maybe she wasn't "given" powers. I mean, who would "give" her powers? Who has time magic to give away? Maybe she just willed those powers into existence. Maybe she always had them. She could be a pagan witch for all we know.
and why didnt max just HIT NATHAN WITH THE MOP TO STOP HIM UGHHHH OR EVEN THE WWWREENCH.......

Which raises more questions.

I think spending those days with Max made her a better person.
phan trash True. Chloe does have the biggest character arch.
the problem with Chloe is a standard sin of all writers that don't quite think their stuff through: they give her too many rebellious, angsty, Nobody Loves Me So I'll Be A Bitch To Every Living Creature moments over too short a period of time. the trick is to insert a character trait that would make her likeable, then one that's not, then two more likeable and one that's not. and so on and so forth. that's how you get a relatable character. here, she practically loses most of her fans by the end of episode 2 with how incredibly dumb she is. then, to add insult to injury, she blames Max for her weed bust at the beginning of episode 3. i could never care for her any more until the very end of the season.
they did a similar thing with Nathan: his first scene gives you an idea that he's just a troubled teenager, then he's just a gigantic asshole until pretty much when you find out about his father. again, no fans for him (just check how many gamers decided to blame him for Kate at the end of e2).
Max is okay but she's way too simplified. like they said in the video, Victoria is not only the most fleshed out villain but the most fleshed out character of them all. i just have the feeling she was the one person the writer had a lot of fun sketching out
Can totally understand you.Max is OK, But she was too simplicated, they focused too much in her friendship with chloe and fucked a little up
Chloe ,I did not care about her,as You said, she had her moments, but she is not the big thing, plus, she looked like she was using max to find Rachel more than anything else, I felt like she did not really apreciate Max like Warren and Kate did (characters that deserve max' friendship more than chloe,in my opinion)
She's hot.
All the decisions you make ultimately have no bearing on the final outcome of the story. Seems like the game should be called life is pointless.
ASMRWhisperLight. I mean like...it is.
Ariel Robinson you know I’ve always wondered what this dude wanted from games like this. In my interpretation, the "Save Chloe" ending made sense in a way that Chloe always witted about "Trashing this place and leaving", so, in a little dramatic way, they did just that by the end.

Yeah mass murder of an entire town to screw with the universe is totally the way to go!
So you kill hundreds, if not, thousands of people, just to save your bae? Sorry, but if I was in that situation, I would save Arcadia Bay.
Simple Username, quit using logic on people who chose the bae ending, it doesnt work on us.
Gorillaz have one good song and it fits absolutely no where in LiS
Chloe tried to talk to Max
if u play as Chloe in Before the Storm, u will see how many times Chloe tries to text Max lol...It was just one-way text, Max didnt even reply her eventho she promised to make a call with Chloe on the weekend after she moved to Seatle. Chloe was desperate and Rachel came to her, she was hesitate to make friend in the beginning but who wouldnt fall for a girl like Rachel lol
Even without Before the Storm, the game tells you Max is the only one who broke contact, read her texts and her journal
19:09 If you look at her class schedule in episode one she mentions that her first class is cancelled because her teacher is out sick. Still weird that they have a bus taking students into town during the day while classes are going on, though.
Students have different schedules, and buses have schedules. They used a yellow bus but it was meant to be a public bus, not a school bus
Max says it's Kate marsh from black well
what if she said it was Jake from statefarm😅😅

When max goes back before Chloe’s dad died I had a glitch where the dad was invisible and there was a floating phone
even if you do save Chloe, won't she still die? it's legitimately her destiny to die.
I was wondering about that as well.
That's been bothering me too XD. If she was destined to die, she would've died some other way.
Mama Jaddie Yeah
Chaos Theory involves believing one event no matter how insignificant it may seem in the long run is part of a larger picture. Chloe's destiny isn't "to die", her destiny is to die at the hands of Nathan in the bathroom. Her surviving that incident is the direct link to the storm. If you choose to save her, the storm happens and destroys Arcadia Bay and presumably every inhabitant. Her destiny was averted and Chaos Theory reigned. It is logically consistent.
Jonathan Gancitano ohh...well that makes sense...
RaybayTheDinosaur FUCKING a THANK YOU.
The developers obviously put that option in for a reason. He was just stating the obvious. The game dev's want you to kiss Chloe. There isn't any other reason why they would put it in there.
Yeah, a lot of the views that those who make these sinning videos (CinemaSins included) have are immoral.

Wow like your philosophy
You’re exactly right. Took the words right out of my mouth.
OMG HE SAID UNTIL DAWNS CHOICES MATTER BUT IN THE EVERYTHING WRONG WITH UNTIL DAWN HE DIDNT ;~;
Nah, he already said that the game is the better with choices because they really change the finale of the history. He also really likes walking dead from telltale but pretends he doesn't because it's him 😂😂😂😂😂
Zaiho ding
Zaiho well it kinda does some choices didn’t matter but ultimately ya you get to choose who lives and dies
In Until Dawn, your choices do matter SOME of the time as they legitimately define who dies and who does not but other then that - not really.
To all those questions that remained unanswered:
Madison Bugley Meh
Madison Bugley but you can get Jefferson killed in the alt reality before max changes everything.
Cool.
I read it all! Timeline seems interesting. Adding to "To Read" list,,
:)
THANK YOU
It is not confirmed 100%, but from the fact that when Max travels through a photo into the past and changes something, the player can see some photographs being burned (facts that are 'undone'), it is likely that alternate timeline disappears, carrying its consequences into the real timeline (and only one).
But it's true that in two points in the game, Max wonders whether there are alternate realities or not.

7:55 Come on now, that's definitely how anyone would used their power at first., ouf of many things.
That and win every poker tournament.
Hold up. Ya'll didn't make a sin for Max saying "ready to fuckin thrash" in the bathroom. That's the best sin ever.
yeah here's the sin for you Sinners at the very end when you're giving your motivative words when you say (call the person you've lost touch with)how are you supposed to call them if you lost touch with them DETAILS MAN!!!
Sin Counter: 1
THEY ARE IMPORTANT!!!!
I love how warrens shirt matches his emotion when hes beating nathan
"Oh my God, Chloe!! Please stop dying in our first date!!!" 😂😂
"Nerdy character who has no game cliche"
lol SAME
Extra sin: Removing the time power when talking to kate on the roof is pointless plot-wise. Because you can restart back to the last savepoint. The last save point is when you get onto the roof. Therefore, you can keep chatting with her as many times you want to save her ass.
yeah, but on a meta stand point it does makes sense
Chloe is drastically different from when they were 5 years younger. As for Max recognizing Chloe the second time, she was DIRECTLY in front of her, unlike in the bathroom where she was far away, and she was looking at Nathan 95% of that moment. There's no way Max could've recognized her.
Okay, I'm sorry, but the sin about driving the car is stupid because she might just not OWN a car. She's not rich. I can drive, but I don't have a car. So I take the bus or a friend drives me!
I couldnt stop laughing every time a sin was removed when warren was beating on nathan
yeah best part in the entire game especially that voice of defeat and desperation
UUUUUUULLTTRRAAA COMBOOOOO
+zak carney He got dat ass whooping.
WHY MUST I ALWAYS SHIP THE ONES WHO AREN'T MEANT TO BE
Alien Kid I KNOW RIGHT
I feel particularly bad of the "go ape thing" because I understand that situation
Warren, come on
*Don't*
But Christ Warren is so damn cute
actually you can change that
i wrote on warren board
"you are cute"
and she calls him when he save her from nathan his with knight
and they can kiss
so your ship can be cannon
1 year later ik
