    0:35 how did you uhh "splice" that noodle?

    • @ozzy1243
      @ozzy1243 Рік тому +10

      It's called a reroute node and it is made by holding shift, right click and drag. To move it, select it and press G

    I don't really understand how you managed to get such a great looking material. I did everything as you said, every step, every value, and still my material looks like some low quality planet with scratches

    Hey.. this is so cool.. can we save it as an asset and use it in future projects directly? and also can you do this kind of videos for different materials? thanks.. another thing.. what do you think is better in terms of quality and performance, using materials from outside? or making our own?

    • @Smeaf
      @Smeaf  2 роки тому +4

      Yes, you can! You just need to enable the Node Preset add-on, then you can save out a Node Group so you can use the same material in any blend file. Alternatively, you could just append the material as well.
      I've got a whole playlist of material creation here 👉 ua-cam.com/play/PL7LFuj3pHYfufXG49KBe7dsktarqN_X9x.html
      I'd say, you need to find a balance, it's good to create your own materials if it's a personal project that you are lovingly creating.
      But if there's a background asset that doesn't garner much attention, I wouldn't waste my time making a detailed custom material for it as it won't be the main subject and likely not even be noticed in the final render. So in that case, I would suggest just using a Blender market preset material.

    Something you keep doing in this video is assuming I know where the things connect, the video just cuts to them connected and you don't even show it on screen. Like the Musgrave at 2:19

  • @windbarioth

    What do you mean by CTRL + Shift + T to get the co-ordinates? This opens a file viewer for me, not what happens in the video.

    • @windbarioth
      @windbarioth Рік тому

      So for anyone that had the same issue, the intended function was for me done with CTRL + T
      No Shift.
