Thank you so much for the compliments on the darker hair! 🥰🥰Unfortunately I've developed an allergy to hair dye, so I'll never be able to go darker again. The only thing I can do now is foil highlights (because it's bleach and not dye and they're in foils so it doesn't touch my scalp). Also, I've been getting some questions on my sweater, it's from Primark and I got it 7-8 years ago. I mentioned towards the end of this video, it's actually the sweater I wore in my very first video EVER on this channel in October of 2017. I kept it all these years and apparently it's trendy again, haha! 💜💜💜 Edited to add...my nail polish is Cardigan from Olive and June.
I think your hair looks beautiful but would going natural be an option to consider? In my case, too many highlights caused breakage for me and then covid caused half my hair to fall out, so I'm stuck with a medium cool brown that is quite aging and drab on me at 64. I think as we age lighter colours generarally look better and less harsh. Despite my dark hair I'm working to make it as healthy as possible. I've been using the loreal glycolic line - oh my gosh, game changer. Wearing it up helps too. Just wondering about your thoughts.

I was just thinking that we are living in a “fast” makeup era 😅 every week a flood of new products. It’s refreshing to see some products pass the test of time
Thank you jen. I had to move and lost all my makeup. As a broke mom I appreciate this. I can't wait to feel pretty again (thank you to everyone that's commented)
Jen, please do a video about discontinued products you wish the brand would bring back! Then we can all lament the awesomeness that is no longer in the comments together.
What an inspiring video! Side note; my eldest sister was recently diagnosed with cancer and understandably feeling pretty low. Since I’m too fatigued these days to wear makeup regularly - I drew from my own makeup collection and filled a box with all kinds of eyeshadow palettes, an eye primer, liners, mascaras, false lashes, an eye mask, blush, lipgloss, skincare samples, makeup setting spray, and even powdered electrolytes!! It definitely lifted her spirits! 🥰🎉
I love that someone with your platform STILL talks about Revlon lipsticks being their favorite! I love the color selection and the classic, simple packaging. I DO wish that Revlon would do some limited edition lipstick cases once in a while, like around the holiday season, but I understand Revlon is not about exciting collections- it is about being reliable and a brand that is a staple that everyone goes back to time and time again. I have so many favorite lipstick shades from Revlon! I love Cherries In The Snow, which is a truly cool based red that looks beautiful on pale, fair skin with a strong pink undertone, like mine! I also love Primrose, which is a pale, cool toned lavender leaning pink that is so awesome for a more neutral winter look. I also have a fushia shade in their matte formula that I love! The colors really have a lot of pigment so they “pop” against the skin. I have bought a new Cherries In The Snow every year as it’s one that I enjoy applying around the holidays. For the price, you can’t beat these- but the formula is seriously second to none! I find the matte formula lasts nearly all day if I’m not eating anything with oil. It has a beautiful blotted look if you don’t want it full on. The satin lipsticks will last a long time unless you’re eating and drinking- but that is standard for satin lipstick. The satin lipstick is not drying at all- but if I blot and apply and then blot again, I can get this to last several hours! It’s such an amazing lipstick formula and i have tried them all! Revlon also has some trendier colors in their line.
LA girl’s blue mixing pigment in the large glass bottle is definitely my favorite product from them. Has transformed all orange foundations. Such an amazing product.
Yes to the Revlon lipsticks! The shade berry rich is my favorite out of the handful I have. On my fair, cool toned skin it leans red and is very wearable.
Thanks for letting us know that the Revlon lipsticks have no scent. I've been reluctant to buy drugstore lipsticks because I didn't know which ones were scent free. Really helpful information!
I think you'll really enjoy the Revlon lippies. There are a lot of pretty shades, including more retro/classic shades that take you back. The price is right, too!
@@beverlynelson599 I used to wear the L'Oreal Colour Riche, but I quit buying them for 2 reasons: the fragrance, and the way they package them. They don't, or didn't used to, fasten the lids on, so it was quite possible to open them and sample them before buying. I was afraid of catching something if they were contaminated.

Hi Jen! Love your videos about drugstore! I just wanted to tell you I went to a grocery store the other day (northern europe) and got a MUA lipstick that you mentioned in a video quite some time back now. I saw them and remembered you loved them. It has such a nice texture and smell and the buildable pigment is perfect. You're one of the few who's recommendations actually work out for me!
Aw I'm so happy to hear that...yay!! I miss that brand so much. They used to ship to the US from the UK but for some reason they stopped. They had great stuff!

It gave me such a natural, radiant, perfected look and u haven't found anything that duplicated it. Love that you still have the same sweater from back in the day. Thank you again for all the work you put into making these videos!
Hey Jen I LUV ur channel. Back in the 70s I sold REVLON Skincare and Cosmetics at the Meier & Frank Department Store. In Portland Oregon. Revlon started in Department Stores. Their Products were The BEST! They had the Best Loose Face Powder ever! It came in a beautiful round pink and gold trim container. It was lovely. They made the best Lipsticks and Blushes my Fav was Honey brown Lustre. I worked at the Revlon Counter for 5 years! Then went to work for Adrian Arpel. and Estee Lauder. But I had to tell you about Revlon. There Skincare was # 1 in the 70s also I could not keep it in stock! It was called ETERNA.❤
Thanks Jen , and congratulations on your utube anniversary , loved the vid , love hearing about your favourites from each brand , I too loved flower beauty but sadly they withdrew from the u.k a couple of years ago , but I did manage to to get the sweet pea blush from your recommendation and it’s everything you said it was you look beautiful in purple btw !
Last year Flower Beauty came out with the 6-pan eyeshadow palette called Garden Lights. At Ulta it has a new online price of $10. 🎉❤ I recommend ordering it with maybe some cotton balls to try to avoid exploding in the mail. I still own and use Desert Lights in the same setup, but this one is not actively showing on Ulta.
I just bought a couple of those because I saw they were on sale at Ulta. I suspect they’re discontinuing them because I couldn’t find them anywhere else except Amazon. I ended up buying the other 2 on Amazon because the first 2 I tried were so good and I didn’t want to miss out! Not sure why they would discontinue them, I’ve heard so many people rave about them!
@@jennbeth1 it is! It was the first thing I purchased right after finding Jen’s channel, and I haven’t had a product fail me yet that was first reviewed by Jen.
This series was new to me, but what a great idea! Thanks for sharing the three years ago favorite and your current favorite. Here are my picks: Elf- Holy Hydration Melting Balm & Stay All Night Setting Mist (green) L’Oreal- True Match powder & Voluminous mascara Covergirl- Clean Fresh Yummy lip gloss (probably stickier than your preference) Milani- eyeshadow primer & baked blush Colourpop eyeshadow- Nude Mood, That’s Taupe, & Deja Brew Maybelline- vanilla eyeshadow single, Lifter gloss, & Superstay Ink Crayon.
Jen I think it’s your personality that keeps me coming back here because we have opposite skin types 😂 I have oily skin so we need different things but I just keep coming back here 🎉
I also like the Elf extensions mascara, mine is still new and a little on the wetter side, I think it will only get better as it dries a bit. The Maybelline lifter liners are AMAZING! I always test lip liners in my hand first to see if they set and stay, and these ones do!!! They are so creamy, go on a like a dream, and they stay!!! They are better than any high end ones I own!!! And the colours are perfect for me! ❤
I've had a problem with the opening of my mascara, having the plastic part that wipes the wand, popping off and getting stuck in the lid. So frustrating, but I do really like it otherwise
I picked up a Lifter Liner in Line Leader this weekend off your recommendation in another video and I LOVE it!! It is so, so creamy and comfortable. I am going to have to go back for more shades. Thank you!!
I love the Maybelline Lifter Gloss and am excited to try the liner! I can't wait to do a gloss/liner combo once I shade match the liners with the glosses Petal and Ruby. I no longer buy Colourpop for reasons I won't drag out here, but their formula is so good, and I'm for sure using up my current palettes so as not to waste good product I paid for. I use the Milani eyeshadow primer, and that really helps keep everything in place.
I shouldn't be surprised that so many of your favourites are mine too. That essence goldy cassis blush is still my favourite out of the many I own. Thank you for all the great recommendations and congratulations on your you tube anniversary. It's been great to see you grow and blossom in confidence each year. Love from Canada❤
Grazie di cuore, Jen! ❤ I watch your videos from Italy and I really appreciate your job :) As a beginner, you are helping me not to be overwhelmed by all this crazy make up world! Ciao ☀️
Yay! I was hoping there was going to be a Jen video today. It’s cold and damp out there today and I’m curled up with a warm blanket. My favorite kinda down day ❤
I started using the NYX eyebrow pencil based on this and I love it. So much control and so natural looking & the ELF tubing mascara. Solid recommendations.
OMG , Jen I bought 80% of these products because of you and now I'm on my way to buy the Impossible stick primer and the cover girl powder so it'll be 100% 😅 I've been following you because we're about the same age and I've convinced my older sister as well to follow you. Thank you for the honesty and for the inspiration. Keep shining 🌟
Aw thank you! I mentioned it towards the end of the video...it's actually the sweater I wore in my very first video ever (7 years ago this month!) and it's from Primark. :)
Thank you Jen for sharing a fun video 😊 I use several skin care products from Neutrogena - the cosmetics aren't available here in Canada 😞 I have tried the Moisture Smooth color stick in the shade Soft Raspberry... it's a pretty shade these lipsticks are smooth and very hydrating on the lips . The Essence and Almay cosmetics are my favorites that I use often too. Take care everyone 🌹
Thank you so much dear! This was quite comprehensive so I'm saving it. My kitty seems to be slowly failing--she is barely eating the last 4 days. Your videos cheer me up and pull me out of sadness for a little while.
Just have to say that I love your video topics - you always find a way to put a cute little spin on something that just elevates the video that much more. You have a really insightful perspective on what will be interesting to us as viewers - you were born to be a makeup UA-camr!!
LA Girl makes amazing color correctors! I have rosacea redness and light-medium olive skin which can be tough to foundation match. Their green color corrector and their blue mixing medium don't disrupt the formulas of my foundations and keep me from looking orange. Highly recommend!
@@JenPhelps I see them at Walgreens here in AL but it’s definitely not a big display. They do have some good products though like their pressed powder/lipliners /concealer and bronzer.
I used the lift and snatch for a long time! I actually just commented on the video that played right before this from you talking about the zero to brow gel from NYX and the lift and snatch in taupe looks green in the sunlight on me!!
I use the Elf Soft Glam foundation and the Lash XTNDR mascara almost daily! Such great, affordable products. I love the L'Oreal Infallible Bronzer and the Catrice True Skin concealer as well. The Maybelline Lifter Liners are next on my list to try!
Jen, you look amazing. I started using Cover Girl Powder as a foundation because of your recommendation. I love the way it looks on my 52 year old skin. I really enjoy these videos.
That Catrice concealer is amazing, I forgot how good it is, but it is in my october shop my stash and I love it. I will be extremely sad if they discontinue it.
I’ve been watching you for a few years now and I swear you look younger than ever! You have a beautiful glow! I love your videos and trust your opinion the most-we have similar skin.
Thanks, really enjoy these videos. Sad about Flower beauty, I bought an early, early eyeshadow called Wanderlust, when they first came out in Ulta, and the colors and texture were so beautiful. Also the only drugstore lipstick I buy is Revlon because I don't like the scent in the others, especially Loreal. Appreciate your mentioning the scents!
Great video! Sometimes a brand will be on sale and I’m not sure what its best products are, so this helps! You come up with content that is relevant and useful. ❤
My #1 product from every drugstore brands are: - Catrice Cosmetics True Skin Hydrating Foundation in Neutral Sand - E.L.F. Hydrating Camo CC Cream -> I'm running low on mine and it helps cover up my acne - Neutrogena Skin Clearing Oil Free Liquid Foundation -> this is my favorite foundation tried with Catrice Foundation - Colourpop Super Shock Shadows-> can't stop wearing them - Essence Hello, Good Stuff! Glow Serum Primer -> love this and the Elf one - Maybelline Super Stay 24HR Skin Tint Foundation Serum with Vitamin C in 112 -> perfect for a no makeup makeup look - Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Bronzer in Light -> love the lip contour kit more - Revlon Skin Lights Prismatic Bronzer -> haven't tried anything expect the blow dryer brush - Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Highlighter in Pearl -> got this from Marshall's and it's my favorite highlighter - Flower Beauty Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer in Light -> best concealer ever - Milani Color Fetish Matte Lipstick in Secret - Wet N Wild Essence Primer Powder -> doesn't cause me to break out and it's so good - Almay Lip Vibes Lipstick in Be Strong -> I can't stop wearing it - L.A. Girl Keep It Playful 9 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Playmate
I have the same picks as you for NYX, Essence, L'Oreal, and I guess ColourPop too. I would have chosen the Halo Glow for e.l.f. and the LashBlast in the purple tube for CoverGirl. I always wanted that little palette from L.A.Girl, but I never bought it because I have so many palettes. L.A.Girl's peach color corrector, though, I use almost every day under my eyes. I have very dark circles and that one is good for me. Wet N Wild's Lavender lip mask is such a holy grail for me, I am literally sitting on six or seven backups. I was told they changed the formula, though!!!
Thanks Jen for the honesty regarding the products. I'm usually someone who prefer high end brands for eyeshadows and foundations however I find that the lipliner from Revlon is highly underated. It's an amazing liner that is really long lasting in my opinion. I find it even more long lasting than some high end brands. CoverGirl products are also great!
Drugstore makeup is my favorite! I don’t feel so bad about trying new things. If something doesn’t work, I’m out $10-$15 instead of $30-$40. Thank you Jen! The sweater is stunning on you ❤
Not at all! Most talc is perfectly fine, there's a lot of fear-mongering out there about it. The reputable brands get it from sources that are free of asbestos. The trouble is mostly when you buy from a brand (like Claire's or another super cheap makeup supplier) that doesn't do their due diligence when it comes to talc. :)
@@JenPhelps I’m so glad you said that - awhile back I threw out so many products because of it and now I regret it - Thank you so much - I highly value your opinion - you definitely do your homework!

Yes!! I’ve kind of decided I don’t need any other lip liner, these are so creamy and so lasting!
The elf mascara does get better as it dries out! :)
@@Silverwingz007 right!!!
Thank you!!
Jen thanks to you I just purchased the Essence Goldy Cassis blush and I absolutely LOVE it! Thank you💕💕💕
So excited to watch your drug store products content! Yippee!
@@ShirleyCoddington isn’t it the best! I hope she never stops reviewing drugstore products
Have to agree with your picks. You really know your stuff.
Love this idea, specially with your take on it! 😊
Thanks Debbie! I hope this is helpful. :)
@@JenPhelps oh it will be whenever iv purchased something on your recommendation it’s been a winner!
I LOVE the neutrogena hydro boost lipgloss
I watch your videos from Italy and I really appreciate your job :) As a beginner, you are helping me not to be overwhelmed by all this crazy make up world! Ciao ☀️
Yay! I was hoping there was going to be a Jen video today. It’s cold and damp out there today and I’m curled up with a warm blanket. My favorite kinda down day ❤
It's cold and damp here too! :)
I started using the NYX eyebrow pencil based on this and I love it. So much control and so natural looking & the ELF tubing mascara. Solid recommendations.
YES on this brow pen! You got me into this (but i use the Caramel color) and it's SO easy to get the perfect look!
Jen Amazon still sells the Wet and Wild stick foundation...some are as low as $4.00 depending on what co!or you need
You definitely need to get the Makeup Revolution Smoky Icon Palette! Such a beautiful cool toned color story!!! I LOVE it!!
Love the lift and snatch! I use the thick it gel first then fill in any gaps with the pen. Magic pair.
Yes!! I do the same thing!
I just bought the Wet N Wild Photo Focus stick foundation recently on Amazon
You’re right about the Neutragena lip glosses. Love them!
So many of your favs are my favs too! The neutrogena gloss in pink mocha, the essence blush in goldy casis, the Catrice concealer, the Almay blush!
OMG , Jen I bought 80% of these products because of you and now I'm on my way to buy the Impossible stick primer and the cover girl powder so it'll be 100% 😅
I've been following you because we're about the same age and I've convinced my older sister as well to follow you. Thank you for the honesty and for the inspiration. Keep shining 🌟
Aw thank you!! Your comment made me smile! 🥰
I also swesr by the NYX lift n snatched. I use mine everyday too! I would love to see what that top you have on looks like, it looks soo pretty!!!
Aw thank you! I mentioned it towards the end of the video...it's actually the sweater I wore in my very first video ever (7 years ago this month!) and it's from Primark. :)
@JenPhelps I laughed when you 'answered' me on the video. I didn't want to delete the comment though.
I love how you compared your prior favorites to your new favorites. Thank you!
Oh noooo...I'm so sorry about your kitty! Sending you a virtual hug. ❤️❤️
@@JenPhelps Thank you so much. She's such a sweet and shy little girl.
I’m so sorry to hear about your kitty, praying she gets better, it’s hard watching our furbabies not feeling well, bless you.🙏🏻🐾🙏🏻🐾
I hope your kitty gets better! It’s so difficult to see our furry family members be sick. Sending you a hug 🙏💗
@@BlingyBea Thank you
Hair looks beautiful 💕
Just have to say that I love your video topics - you always find a way to put a cute little spin on something that just elevates the video that much more. You have a really insightful perspective on what will be interesting to us as viewers - you were born to be a makeup UA-camr!!
Aww thank you so much! :)
LA Girl makes amazing color correctors! I have rosacea redness and light-medium olive skin which can be tough to foundation match. Their green color corrector and their blue mixing medium don't disrupt the formulas of my foundations and keep me from looking orange. Highly recommend!
I love those too!
I didn’t see anything from Rimmel. Happy UA-cam Anniversary Jen! I hope you don’t ever leave us because you are AMAZING ♥️♥️♥️
Ooh I would love to hear the response to this! I really love their Kate Moss lipsticks.
For some reason none of the stores near me carry Rimmel anymore. I actually forgot about them because I never see their products.
@@JenPhelps That's a good point, I remember CVS taking them out so maybe they went away. They used to be so big!
I love your drugstore videos. Thanks for sharing your picks with us. 👍🏼
I absolute love the physicians formula lip conditioners. So good
love the lighter hair best. and i really appreciate this video!
That Catrice concealer is amazing, I forgot how good it is, but it is in my october shop my stash and I love it. I will be extremely sad if they discontinue it.
Hey Jen. Great video. Just a FYI…I always wanted to try the W&W stick foundation for months. Finally found it at a Walgreens.
Right?! ❤
You look fabulous in dark hair.
Have you ever tried henna hair color or brands they sell that do not contain harsh chemicals? Love the darker hair.
My #1 product from every drugstore brands are:
- Catrice Cosmetics True Skin Hydrating Foundation in Neutral Sand
- E.L.F. Hydrating Camo CC Cream -> I'm running low on mine and it helps cover up my acne
- Neutrogena Skin Clearing Oil Free Liquid Foundation -> this is my favorite foundation tried with Catrice Foundation
- Colourpop Super Shock Shadows-> can't stop wearing them
- Essence Hello, Good Stuff! Glow Serum Primer -> love this and the Elf one
- Maybelline Super Stay 24HR Skin Tint Foundation Serum with Vitamin C in 112 -> perfect for a no makeup makeup look
- Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Bronzer in Light -> love the lip contour kit more
- Revlon Skin Lights Prismatic Bronzer -> haven't tried anything expect the blow dryer brush
- Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Highlighter in Pearl -> got this from Marshall's and it's my favorite highlighter
- Flower Beauty Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer in Light -> best concealer ever
- Milani Color Fetish Matte Lipstick in Secret
- Wet N Wild Essence Primer Powder -> doesn't cause me to break out and it's so good
- Almay Lip Vibes Lipstick in Be Strong -> I can't stop wearing it
- L.A. Girl Keep It Playful 9 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Playmate
Love your videos! I trust your recommendations! Also, your hair looks especially good today! Shiny!!
What a great concept! Your hair looks Stun- ning!!
Thank you Jenn….. finally someone says the Revlon lipsticks …. Other lists you’ve mention I’ve said the same thing too. So much in common. ❤️❤️
Drugstore makeup is my favorite! I don’t feel so bad about trying new things. If something doesn’t work, I’m out $10-$15 instead of $30-$40. Thank you Jen! The sweater is stunning on you ❤
Wow! Love the dark hair on you!!! Thanks for another great video!! You mentioned some products with talc - that doesn’t bother you?
Wow this is a great throwback!! I remember (& deeply miss) your Beauaddiction website and the one before it. Love seeing you continue to grow!! Keep up the good work!
Aw thank you so much for being with me that long! That's amazing! 🥰❤️
Happy UA-cam Anniversary! I really enjoy your videos.
The flashback video of you with dark hair, your hair looks so good
Thanks for such an informative video. Happy anniversary 🎉
