Been absolutely loving your "shop my stash" advent calendar idea! It's so exciting to see what you have each time, and makes it even better knowing your son picked them out!
@JenPhelps. I am so Happy I watched this video. It saved me from wasting money and a lot of grief. My Tirtir foundation dried up within a week. It was sealed properly so I don’t know why it happened. I enjoyed your version of the advent calendar so much that next year I will have my grandson pick my options. ❤️❤️❤️
You saved me $25 when I decided NOT to jump on the red TirTir foundation! I put my money toward the silver compact when it was available 'cause us dry skinned gals gotta stick together! Happy Holidays!
I’m coming for you Jen 😂😂😂, some people take makeup too serious 😂😂 love your honest reviews. By the way, I hated that Covergirl palette, my quickest declutter ever!!
I appreciate that you say ‘this didn’t work for me’ and ‘ let me know if you have found a way to get these to work.’ Thank you, Jen! ❤ That is really cool of you.
Thanks for the video, Jen! I think it's hard for some people to understand that not all products will work for everybody, no matter WHAT you do! For example, for those of us with dry or very dry skin, foundations formulated for oily skin are unlikely to work well no matter how much you moisturize, exfoliated, or whatever.
I'm so glad you tried that peel off lip stain. I got so many ads for this product on YT. The creators in those ads didn't mention anything about a 20 minute dry time. They peeled it off and had instantly beautiful lips! I'm so glad I saw your vid and didn't fall for the hype 😊
The new CG purple blush looks great on you, and it's sad how CG has let their old Eye Enhancers quads fall off the cliff. They used to be pretty much my only eye shadows back in the day but now there is no pigment at all. Great video! 🌲
I thought the samething. I love some of their trios. If they can make the “clean” quads with the different formulas, there is no reason for the other eyeshadows to be so terrible
I don't have the same skin type, skin tone, or exact preferences as you, but I'm always interested in hearing from you because I know you're not afraid to speak your mind, and you've been consistent throughout the year about your positive and negative experiences (including clips of your first impressions in this review is super helpful). I appreciate that, and considering the industry you're in, I don't take your sincerity for granted 😊
Jen, I have found that the best lip balms with SPF that I have tried are actually those marketed for men! The Jack Black squeeze tube SPF lip balms come in several flavors and work great. The Duke Cannon "Cannon Balm" (olive green label) is another favorite. I have purchased each of these multiple times throughout the years and they are tried and true favorites. Of course they dont have SPF 50 (25 & 15, respectively) but both are pleasant to apply/reapply throughout the day 😊
I completely agree--the Jack Black is my go to. I have one in my purse, my nightstand drawer, and my makeup bag. I haven't tried the Duke Cannon one, but the "Cannon Balm" would make a cute stocking stuffer. Kind of a play on the song "O Tannenbaum."😆 Thanks for the idea!
Wow, that lip stain experience sounds awful!! And even if the product peeled off well, i can't imagine ever wanting to wait 20 minutes to peel something off my lips when I can simply find another lip product to just swipe on and go! Thanks for all your honest reviews, Jen. ❤
That TirTir foundation could have been popular back in 2016 if it was released back then, since people wore cakey full coverage foundations and layer powder foundations above that.
May I ask why people like full coverage? I really can’t figure it out - it’s usually very noticeable irl, it seems to be about covering acne or wrinkles but it seems to magnify any texture & creates a strange mask effect. I know a woman who wore it as part of a fairly obvious strategy to look 50 not 60 (career changer, I understood her logic, it’s hard to restart when you’re close to retirement- except her new career was therapist & you can def get a job at any age - there’s a shortage). I didn’t know her well enough to tell her that her makeup was so heavy (& she was obviously at least 58), we started actively wondering what she was hiding… I vowed, after realizing on a long plane ride together for work, that her foundation had settled into a web of fine lines, that I would never ever wear full coverage. She is a lovely person & I hate to admit that the web effect does make me nauseated. I only say this because a lot of women are not seeing what the world sees, and let’s face it, few of us are expressing creativity thru complexion products. 99.99% use complexion purely for vanity reasons. Acne, age spots & wrinkles all look worse if the makeup particulate is clearly visible. Full coverage seems to just create new problems. I’m all for creative freedom but outside of editorial/stage makeup, complexion coverage is a science more than an art.
My impression of it was that it was a more old fashioned type of BB cream which is much more geared towards oily and very oily skin. I've never tried it though cause my skin is dry.
I always appreciate your honest reviews! I bought the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation after your review and it has become a staple. On the other hand, Revlon's Illuminance was so pasty on me that I had to return it. But the thing I appreciate about your videos is that I see them as an honest, helpful baseline of where to start searching for products.❤️🥰👍🏼
Thanks Jen! Finally someone shares honest opinion of the peeling lipstain gimmick - so many influencers are pushing it so hard. However, imho it's just creating problems that don't exist in the first place and completely unnecessary invention.
Ah first view!!! I absolutely adore your channel. Your videos are amazing. You can tell how much effort you put into making your channel different and relevant. I love that ur channel is honest and not always pushing to buy:) I love hearing about bad products too!! Not everything can be amazing ❤❤
Completely agree on the Huda lip gloss. Another popular influencer raved about it, so was excited to try it. Like you, I experienced stringy, thick gloss that did not make my lips look bigger as the influencer claimed. Thank you for always being forthright with your product reviews.
The description of the Tir Tir cushion foundation in the red compact is perfect. I have oily skin and even for me, it felt mask like and heavy, and when my oils came through it felt like a heavy cream that was hardening on my skin.
I almost bought this foundation on 3 separate occasions, but decided against it. People were losing their minds over this stuff and now you don’t hear about it much at all. I don’t know about you, but I just couldn’t figure out which color to get.
I started with red mini versions, massive oxidation in the mid range neutral shades. Moved to pink minis, much better. Picked up a couple of silvers as well and find those to be very drying on me Currently using pink with silver in tzone and very happy with that combo. One thing I noticed in video is Jen used way, way too much product. The amount put down with the first touch of the sponge is enough to do entire face. If you lightly press sponge into product just once that is all you need. Dot it around, cheeks, chin, etc and use same sponge and just keep patting it around til you get all areas covered.
The TirTir foundation was also an absolute no for me. Like paint on my face and no matter what I did, it never looked right. I took it off before leaving the house. 😆
I'm not gonna get too personal in UA-cam comments, but I'm having a very difficult December and your videos have been such a wonderful escape (and way to curate my makeup shopping list 😆). Thank you for posting so much. ❤🎄
Thanks, Jen, as always... I really appreciate your honesty! I love those Elf SPF glosses! They have a light coconut scent and are very pretty. I can also just picture Robert talking about that Milk primer LOL. I need to check that out.
I totally agree with you on the TirTir foundation. I was excited to try it but it did nothing for me. It didn't smooth my skin at all and felt funny on my skin. Hard to explain! Also agree on the Huda lip gloss. I've had the exact same experience with the strings. Too bad because I absolutely love the color (honey). Thanks, Jen!
Totally agree on the Tirtir. I tried the red cushion umpteen different ways and just made my dry mature skin look awful. But really like the silver cushion. Enjoy and appreciate your reviews, good and bad.
It’s super important to me to know which products to avoid. I’m on a pretty small budget & I can’t afford to buy things that don’t work. Especially foundation. They are all over the map as far as effectiveness goes and so many of them are not what they claim-unless you’re 20 with flawless skin. And I’m not too surprised about the Hello Kitty shadows. When I saw it at the store I thought it was for children to play with. 🤷🏻♀️ I wish there was more honesty about make up products. Jen, you should take pride in being honest and helping other women avoid the pitfalls of the mystifying world of makeup.
i appreciate how quickly you respond to your viewers. makes us feel like u care about your viewers. i follow another utuber, but she might respond a week later... makes u feel like she isn't in it for the viewers.
13:44 I tried a few cheap lip balms with spf and I've never found one that I like so I went back to my la poche posay spf 50 anthelios chapstick. I use it as a base before any lip product or when I'm at home to hydrate my lips.
As a culture I think we need to stop being afraid of criticism and "being negative" when it comes to situations where we're being taken advantage of. These companies are charging money for products that don't match their marketing claims - why should we feel bad for acknowledging that this is not a kind or respectful way to treat consumers, or people in general? I trust the company's marketing, and then it turns out they were exaggerating the utility of the product. I'm the one losing time, money and even emotional energy if I was excited about the product or if I needed it to fill a gap in my routine. Why should I be afraid to tell other people that this was my experience? We need to stop blaming ourselves for our feelings when brands across the board are pouring millions of dollars into learning how to manipulate our feelings so that we spend money. Never feel bad for not liking products and then sharing about it. The consumers suffer more than the companies if a product doesn't work. Our resources are finite. Honest reviews are hard to find in this social media landscape. Lots of influencers don't know how to review products - in the case of makeup, I've noticed some people seem to enjoy buying makeup and posting on social media more than they actually enjoy makeup. Great for them and the companies, terrible for the viewer 😢
I bought one of those Cover Girl eye palettes, but in the purple shade. The only one that showed up was the dark purple color, none of the remaining colors showed up on my skin and I am very fair like you are. I am going to give it to my granddaughter to play with. I wish Cover Girl would make some good eye palettes again ! I really appreciate your honest reviews - good and bad ! So many influencers say every product is life changing, and that simply isn’t true. I am excited to try the purple Cover Girl blush ! It looks so pretty on you !!!
Your absolutely 💯 % on par with your videos, it's true what suits one person may not suit another, that's just the way it is. Merry Christmas to you and yours 🎄🎅🤶
I love these videos! And I’m so happy for the update on the Covergirl blush! Blush always turns orange on me. I’ve been wanting to try a purple one but I didn’t want to spend a bunch until I know how it’ll turn out on me.
Although this is a video about bad products, this is a ‘highly rated’ type comment. I bought the Violette Vespertine palette (Viseart) on your recommendation. It’s gorgeous; just stunning. Happy Christmas.
With so many people talking about it it has been difficult to resist at times NGL 😅😂 But it just doesn’t look like anything I would like. Plus there are too many people talking about it-too many sponsored people so it’s hard to tell. Appreciate your accounting of it, helps me know that I’m making a good call. 😊
I really think you should continue having your son pick at least 12 products a month that you have to use. Keeps you accountable to that collection!! 😂
63 yr old face here-normal to slightly dry and pretty good complexion. I agree on the points about Tirtir. I got the small size to try and wouldn’t repurchase.
This was good. I personally don't think you are just being negative or didn't use something correctly if it didn't work for you. Makeup is personal, just like perfume. That is why there are so many dang choices out there. Just keep being you, Jen. People have too much time on their hands if they are complaining about your honest opinion. ❤
Hi Jen, yes the covergirl quad was so not good at all. Another bad product I found was so not good is the Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor Huez Tinted Moisturizer. I did not see it a lot of review about it but the smell is awfull and the result is like applying vegetal shortning. Thank you for the video
Everything you said about the Milk primer reminded me of this Smashbox primer I just got in an Ipsy sale. It is the 8 in 1 primer essence but it literally just feels like water and completely absorbs into the skin like water and feels like absolutely nothing. They cost too much to be essentially water!
I can’t say I’ve watched a UA-camr like tirtir without the company paying them. No desire to purchase. I only trust your opinion compared to everyone else!
CVS has been dropping prices on the CG quads & upping the coupons lol, I knew they looked way too familiar! How have they not figured out that the old school drugstore formula is a huge part of why people think they hate drugstore.
I've heard others say the same thing about the Tir Tir Red and Silver Foundation, which was good. Thank you for a helpful video Jen. I won't be using any of those products because of your reviews. I find that you are usually right on point with your reviews and that is enough for me.❤🌲💐
Love the vid! I bought one of those peel off lip stain. I like using it for a liner only. Its not convenient for everyday with that 20 min wait time but I do use a couple times a week.
OMG I LOVE YOU !!!! thank you for all these "warnings" and I 100% believe you, you take your time and explain each product so well, so thank you and im sorry for the stuff that hurt your skin so be careful im 54 years old so way older than you, and its so true make up that looked good when we were younger its not the same with our mature skin anymore, i have to use a light hand most of the time with most makeup. thank you♥♥♥♥♥
I really appreciate these types of videos I think they can be so helpful ❤ I would have been drawn to the lip product with sunscreen in it to that added benefit would have drawn me in also 💙 I've been wanting to try Moira but if I ever do get the opportunity to I'll skip the shadow sticks 💙💛❤💚💜
You look beautiful today-and you ARE the be-all and end-all of makeup reviewers! I have fallen for more products pushed by influencers than I care to admit, so I appreciate you de-influencing me. For example, my favorite YT dermatologist recommended that lip stain but it looks absolutely hellish.
Grace Jones was a badass singer in the 80s & she wore visibly purple blush. I’m betting you need a MUA to help you find the right shade, coverage, etc & it probably requires specific complexion correcting & coverage to get a true purple that isn’t stage makeup. Or just learn to blend stage makeup. The 16 yr old who was the best actress and MUA in my school could do anything with our crap stage makeup, incl an iconic 80s face! Also I just found out Merle Norman still exists 😂 for lady realtors & their teen daughters lol but I remember that the one Merle girl had some wild blush. It was weird cuz the blush was the only thing interesting.
I wanted to love the Dior stick but it looked so chalky on me. Maybe the color was too light (I was matched by an associate at Sephora). My friend loves it but for me it was a big 👎
It could be! Whenever I get a foundation that's too light I don't like it...for some reason it makes things look more dry/textured. This color is slightly too deep for me, so it works. :)
I love the Dior foundation stick. I use 2.5N. Its so creamy, blends so well and looks flawless on my 58yr old skin. We're going to Europe next month and I'm taking that stick.
What a shame about the Haus Labs. I still have and use a Black liquid eyeliner from her original Haus Laboratories brand. It is jet black and flows smoothly - still!!! Great video. ❤
As a professional makeup artist (30 years experience) I have many products that I work with and like, but sometimes something that usually works well just doesn’t and I have to tweak and adjust… so not everyone gets along with a product
I ended up putting a dropper full of the Wet n Wild niacinamide skin tint into my Tirtir cushion and those two blended together work much better than the cushion alone
Me almost spraining my finger to click on this video so fast. I love when Jen roasts bad products!
Aw thank you!! 🙏🥰
Same here!
I've got my popcorn and iced tea! Jen can be sweet even when she's brutal.
It doesn't happen that often!!! 😂😂
I'm ready
You saved me $25 when I decided NOT to jump on the red TirTir foundation! I put my money toward the silver compact when it was available 'cause us dry skinned gals gotta stick together! Happy Holidays!
Same here! 😊
I’m coming for you Jen 😂😂😂, some people take makeup too serious 😂😂 love your honest reviews. By the way, I hated that Covergirl palette, my quickest declutter ever!!
Haha! Some people do take it too seriously! 🤣
i was gonna say the same, but i did not want my comment to be misconstrued. so glad you did it first 😂
@ 🤣🤣🤣, I have a small channel so I know how much heat we can get sometimes for being honest. Jen is amazing 💕
Yes! People want us to be honest but then when we are, they get upset!
You are literally one of the best and most honest beauty reviewer! You’ve helped me save money and I’ve needed that 😂!
I agree I think they were actually better before!
Love the house finches ❤
So cute having ur son pick the products for ur Advent calendar! Super cool idea. Also he is adorable!!
Your comments on these products are just too funny! Thanks😂💚
Of course they dont have SPF 50 (25 & 15, respectively) but both are pleasant to apply/reapply throughout the day 😊
I love the Jack Black ones!

Agreed 💯
Yeah 90s early 2000s too. As long as they were not the right color-because we sure were pink, yellow or way too light back then.
Some day I’ll pick that one up. I did pick up the Illuminance a couple of weeks ago and have been loving it 🥰
Totally agree! I 100% trust Jen’s reviews & can judge what will work for me based on her thoughts.
Love the Double Wear especially in the summer. Also love Christian Dior Forever matte.
I love the Revlon Illuminance foundation!
@dizzieblonde2010 I wanted so much to love it! Unfortunately, it just didn't work on my skin. 😭
Thanks Jen! Finally someone shares honest opinion of the peeling lipstain gimmick - so many influencers are pushing it so hard. However, imho it's just creating problems that don't exist in the first place and completely unnecessary invention.
I never peel it off tho, just wipe it off with a damp cloth.
See I used a damp cloth also but I felt like it took so much of the color away and it ended up fading faster. :(
I love your reviews! You are the only one I trust anymore ❤😊 I never bought that everyone loved that Tirtir foundation, it looked soo mask like! 😳
Ah first view!!! I absolutely adore your channel. Your videos are amazing. You can tell how much effort you put into making your channel different and relevant. I love that ur channel is honest and not always pushing to buy:) I love hearing about bad products too!! Not everything can be amazing ❤❤

makeup is so personal! i wish people kept that in the back of their minds. but i chuckled when you fast forward the comment 0:59 😂
Totally agree on the Tirtir. I tried the red cushion umpteen different ways and just made my dry mature skin look awful. But really like the silver cushion. Enjoy and appreciate your reviews, good and bad.
Hi Jen , I enjoyed watching this video, thank you for your honesty regarding these products. Love Katherine xoxo
AGREE with most of these!! But I really love the red Tir Tir foundation. It makes my skin look flawless.
I feel like for this it works for it works perfectly & then there is everyone else.
As with most cushion foundations, we westerners tend to use them as foundation and slap far too much on the face. Then we complain it's cakey.
Same!
I’m glad I skipped trying the red Tirtir cushion and got the pink one instead. I really like it - on my 48yr old textured, oily skin.
Thanks for sharing these and sharing your honest opinions. I trust you completely.
The blush is ohso pretty!!
I'm grateful you're here for us !
i really appreciate the honest unsponsored reviews.
It’s super important to me to know which products to avoid. I’m on a pretty small budget & I can’t afford to buy things that don’t work. Especially foundation. I appreciate your honesty and thank you for taking some of the duds for us and warning us. ❤
YES, the Tirtir foundation experience was the exact same for me.
I really love your intro.
I love this type of video 👍🏼 I love your channel. ❤✨
Yay!! A new Jen video!
I lol when you sped up the bit about them "coming at you"
It’s so refreshing hearing Honest reviews. Jen always lets us know the good, bad and awful. Thank you so much for that!❤❤❤
That covergirl eyeshadow quad was terrible, the colors looked good in the pan, but your swatch shows how awful they look like, the colors looks off
Yes! The shimmers had no shine and the mattes were powdery and chalky.
As a culture I think we need to stop being afraid of criticism and "being negative" when it comes to situations where we're being taken advantage of.

Tirtir is the worst foundation ever. My skin looked do gross. I had pores and texture i didn't know i had.
I didn’t like the Tir Tir foundation either. Too heavy, hated the scent, couldn’t find the right shade. Thanks for your thoughts. Very helpful ❤
I really think you should continue having your son pick at least 12 products a month that you have to use. Keeps you accountable to that collection!! 😂
Hey Jen I agree about the Tirtir foundation absolutely horrible see you soon ❤
63 yr old face here-normal to slightly dry and pretty good complexion. I agree on the points about Tirtir. I got the small size to try and wouldn’t repurchase.
I love your reviews. I don't buy if you don't like it.
Love this channel. 🎄🎄🎄🎁🎁🎁☃️☃️☃️
Oh yes!! I forgot about that one it's awful. I tried it during my 30 days of SPF back in June and you're right it was so thick and greasy. 😬
Your hair is so pretty! Loved this video.
Everything you said about the Milk primer reminded me of this Smashbox primer I just got in an Ipsy sale. It is the 8 in 1 primer essence but it literally just feels like water and completely absorbs into the skin like water and feels like absolutely nothing. They cost too much to be essentially water!
Exactly!!
I can’t say I’ve watched a UA-camr like tirtir without the company paying them. No desire to purchase. I only trust your opinion compared to everyone else!
I have never watched tiktok.
Hear Hear on Tir tir hated it.
VERY helpful🙌🏻
Merry Christmas to your family Jen❤
CVS has been dropping prices on the CG quads & upping the coupons lol, I knew they looked way too familiar! How have they not figured out that the old school drugstore formula is a huge part of why people think they hate drugstore.
I've heard others say the same thing about the Tir Tir Red and Silver Foundation, which was good. Thank you for a helpful video Jen. I won't be using any of those products because of your reviews. I find that you are usually right on point with your reviews and that is enough for me.❤🌲💐
Thank you for your honest reviews.
I also hate the red Tirtir foundation. I love the pink one though. So odd
Love the vid! I bought one of those peel off lip stain. I like using it for a liner only. Its not convenient for everyday with that 20 min wait time but I do use a couple times a week.
I actually agree with all your choices. Love these videos, honest reviews that will save me money🎉❤
Thank you! What nail polish and color are you wearing?
I just love your channel ❤
It's ILNP Olive Grove 🫒
@JenPhelps thank you and Happy Holidays 😊 🙏🎄☃️
Happy Holidays to you!
Thank you for showing the CG purple 💜 stick blush as many of us requested! Gorgeous color... Oh, the temptation!!! 😈👾💟
Aww thank you!! :)
Love the intro ❤
Glad I saw you today because I was thinking of buying that palette I really liked the purple but oh well lol
Ooh if you like purple have you checked out Robert Welsh new palette release?
Call me crazy but I want a actual purple blush.i think it'd be fun but they all look pink
@standdownrobots_ihaveoldglory I guess if I really wanted to I could just use an eyeshadow also .
Have you seen the Fenty blush in Drama Cla$$? Now that is purple!! 💜
@@pinksparkle258I was getting ready to comment that. It goes on PUR-PLE
@@pinksparkle258 I have no,I'll check it out .ty
We love all your reviews good or not ...brava !
P.S. your sweater is so pretty and brings out your eye colour!
Been LOVING your Vlogmas videos!! Love all your reviews Jen!! ❤❤❤
Thank you for this video … ❤
I have to get that purple blush stick!
Love your sweater and your lip color. Stunning.
You have had some bad experiences with makeup this year. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, I did but there were way more hits than misses. :)
Hated the Tirtir also- you nailed my review of it too! Not for me.
Omg ,merci car la palette hello kitty j'avais trop envie de me l'offrir.
Great roast Jen! You are so sweet and so helpful! Blessings this holiday to you and your fam🎀
🎉woo hoo! Another Jen video! 😁
As a professional makeup artist (30 years experience) I have many products that I work with and like, but sometimes something that usually works well just doesn’t and I have to tweak and adjust… so not everyone gets along with a product
That purple blush is super flattering on you!
I ended up putting a dropper full of the Wet n Wild niacinamide skin tint into my Tirtir cushion and those two blended together work much better than the cushion alone
I don’t know why but I found this honest review mesmerizing. 😂
I’m a new subscriber. Just love your content. Refreshing!
Welcome to the channel! I hope you enjoy it!🥰
