I too have been to Bucerias, many times. And yes, it is changing quite abit. I really do not know how the infrastructure is going to hold up building all the new high rises. Time will tell I guess. It is very easy to cross the highway actually, by the intersection with the hospital. There is a crossing that does have police at it to cross during the day. Also there are many breaks in traffic to cross it. Also, if you are scared to cross, you can always walk down to the bridge and walk or drive underneath it. There is also a pedway that goes overtop the highway as well. Like anywhere, you can make the best of it or not. Please go and check out the place for yourselves. It is well worth the trip. Good video but a little bit misleading about the highway part, don't get me wrong, it is very busy and could be better, but it is getting there. I do love how you talk about the vendors and how hard they work, they really do have to work to earn a living there in Mexico. Great job! Cheers and Adios! ;)

Bucerias has a lot to offer. And like almost everywhere in Mexico - if you're going to sweat the small stuff - it's not for you. I discovered this area a couple of years ago, and love the people (locals and visitors), love the restaurants, love the diverse life. I have met young people from all over Mexico working in this area, and improving the lives of their families. We are so, so lucky to have a peaceful, beautiful and welcoming country as a southern neighbor.

Great job with the video. I particularly enjoy your empathy towards the hardworking locals who are trying to make a living. Also, you highlighted the beautiful parts but also included pragmatic stuff such as choosing which side of the highway to stay and the issue with noise and constructions. Thank you.

Thanks Savio , and I appreciate that you see the positive along with the helpful tips I am trying to impart on people planning on travelling to this area. Unfortunately, many people on the Bucerias FB page seem to be interpreting this as an indictment on their town …. It’s not. We are very much enjoying our visit, but I can’t imagine renting for 1-3 months next to condo construction and pay the $4k+/month only to contend with noise and dust. I think it is important that these facts are identified!
I hope you are keeping well!

Hello, I live in the region year around. Congratulations, you have made a very good video about Bucerias, it points out the things that would be good to know before visiting. However, you mentioned in the video the beach vendors and there especially the kids. As a mom I understand the feeling of a child approaching with that smile and a pleading look. But I know the other side too, between 4 to 6 children disappear daily in Mexico. Only about a third of them are found. The kids that work, will never go to school, will never have the possibility to learn a trade or get a college degree. They are bound to live from hand to mouth like their parents, without fix income and without medical insurance. Because the kids earn much more than the adults, they will never have a chance. Or worse, especially the girls end up in "cantinas". Child labor is forbitten here in Mexico, but as long as there is a market, there are kids laboring. I have traveled much in my life, this is not solely a Mexican problem, you see it in many underdeveloped countries. I've found your video very interesting and you are pointing out the negative impact of the construction in Av. Lazaro Cardenas and rightfully so, it would have been additionally perfect if you would have drawn attention to this issue from that side of view. Education/Information is the clue. For the kids but more importantly for our visitors. Thanks.

Thanks for your poignant, thoughtful, and articulate comments. It is unfortunate that I didn’t have a chance to speak with you before posting this to better understand the vendors’ situations. I had reached out to the FB forum a couple of weeks ago requesting chatting with someone to get some better insights about life here, and unfortunately only received one offer that in the end never came to fruition. Further, I tried to arrange meeting with a vendor who spoke, and understood English. We were to have met last week, but unfortunately he was a no show. I am hopeful that at the minimum, your comments will help to enlighten people to the perils these people face.
Thanks again for your feedback !

I have being to Bucerias. The infrastructure is in progress and over time we will see what happens to Bucerias. Personally, I love the fact that the venders come to you instead of you having to walk awhile to get to them. you called them "Minor inconvenience's" which I do not see them as. I Particularlly enjoy eating the Pie de queso and think you should try it sometime if you haven already. Also I found that crossing the Hwy at the street lights particularly easily although you as it appeared in the video were jaywalking across the Hwy trying to avoid cars when you could have easily walked down the street a little to find a street light and waited till it was Red to cross. Overall I though it was a great video besides the highway.

I agree with your take on the construction and the 200. It’s noisy, piles of rubble everywhere, traffic is horrendous. We had rented a house on the ocean side of the highway, left there, tried the other side of the highway but same issues. We moved on and won’t be back. We also found the food in the area not great. I wonder what they are going to do when all these condos are full and infrastructure has not been upgraded to keep up with the influx of people.

Great video , very accurate I must say , but it’s still a very nice place to visit as isn’t too crazy busy quite yet but in few more years it will be nuts to stay and enjoy. If you want to invest in bucerias now it’s the time before it becomes almost impossible to afford ( for most people) especially if you like low key type of villas. Again Bucerias is a magical place to visit or live if you have the financial freedom. But regardless of what anyone opinions just come visit Bucerias and judge for yourself 🇲🇽👍 enjoy cervezas 🍻

Interesting how when it comes to Mexico some people complaint for about just everything, cities grow and so that brings construction, noise among other things…I lived in Los Angeles for a few months and they were working on the Fwys, it was noisy, lanes closed all the time, super slow traffic and No one complaint about that?! But in Mexico let’s complain about everything?!

Great tip...don't try to cross a busy 4 lane highway in the middle of the block. Go to where the lights are. What an original concept. They should teach this in the US! Oh wait...

We found a nice airbnb on the same block as the restaurant Delicias Mexicans and it's south of Highway-200. Is there a lot of construction going on there too and will it be a pain and lot of noise during the day or not much of an issue? Thanks

You are one block off the calle lazaro cardenas which is where the major construction was happening when we were there. I would say that you should be away from the primary construction, but it has been 9 months since we were there, and I don't know how many projects have now completed. Your location is perfect for all the restaurants, the town centre, and access to the beach. Enjoy Your Stay

Highway 200 runs north and south, just like the Pacific Coast Highway does in California, etc... The beach side of Highway 200 is the west side and the other side of Highway 200 is the east side.

I don’t know why foreigners in Mexico always talk about the bad things. Violence, too touristy, too many people, noise, etc…things that happen in all of Latin America but you never hear anyone complaining about those countries?!

Oh my goodness... go to Costa Rica, or Nicaragua. Its much less developed and thus peaceful. Those are growing pains and they are everywhere that people want to be. Do a little more research next time and you'll find the perfect place for a quiet VACATION. You may not have all the services you want tho. It's always a trade off.
    Happy travels 😉👍🏻

the sand is most definitely not "white" in Bucerias or anywhere on the Pacific coast. I agree about the highway splitting the city into 2 sections really sucks and makes it a pain to get to the beach... I lived that for a month. the vendors are not nearly as bad as in PV but yes, still a constant annoyance. I do feel sorry for those people and cant imagine how they are able to eek out a living. one of my pet peeves in Bucerias is the sad condition of the Bucerias sign where the main plaza meets the beach. it really needs to be renovated. and that area is also usually full of trash and empty beer bottles all over the ground. the river that runs nearby in rainy season always smells like a combination of rotten eggs and dead animals and again is full of garbage. out of the dozen or so places i have been in Mexico I think Bucerias is my least favourite.

@@Karen-fs6lf In fact, La Paz has what many Mexicans consider to be our MOST beautiful, white-sand beach: it's so popular that you need to book either a morning OR afternoon visit since limits on daily numbers of visitors are STRICTLY enforced. (Google Images of "Playa Balandra " if interested.)
