We are passionate about travelling the world, experiencing different cultures, and sampling unique and interesting food. We want to share travel tips, and travel highlights with others who have the same passion for travelling. We feel that travelling helps to breakdown racial, and economic prejudices by providing a view into cultural, and socioeconomic differences. By understanding these differences, and why they exist fosters a different mind-set when encountering these same cultures in our own country.
Part 3 Olive Picking In Italy - We finally got to pick olives. It wasn't as romantic as we thought.
After touring around the Abruzzo region tasting delicious food, and looking at postcard worthy views, we were now ready to begin picking olives.
There were three different plots that we worked on during our time in Ofena. Each plot provided a unique perspective of the landscapes that surrounded the town. From a flat olive grove, to one on the side of a mountain, to finally one that abuts a cemetery. The weather remained unseasonably warm and dry, however the olives were noticeably smaller, and more withered than I would have expected. I thought these olives would be plump and juicy, the way they are when you buy them at the deli counter. Angelo corroborated my thinking telling us that the dry, hot summer the lack of rain played a role in the unhealthy growth of the olives.
We were given direction as to how to lay the nets around the picking area to minimize errant olives from being lost as they dropped from the trees. There were two machines with extendable poles powered by car batteries that knocked the olives from the higher part of the trees, while the rest of us used plastic hand held rakes to remove the olives from the lower branches. Once a tree was suitably stripped of its fruit, the nets were picked up from each corner, allowing the olives to gather in the middle. An attempt was made to remove the leaves and stems that had inevitably dropped from the trees along with the olives. FInally, the olives were scooped into a bucket, and then dumped into a burlap bag where they were stored before going to the pressing room. The bags couldn't be stuffed too full, otherwise there was a risk the weight of the olives on top would damage the olives on the bottom. Furthermore, the bags had to be light enough to be moved between a car trunk, a garage, and finally to the Frontoyo (the olive pressing co-op).
Once there was enough weight to satisfy the frontoyo's minimum, the olives were loaded into huge, flat, plastic bins. From there they were eventually dropped into a hopper where they were sorted, cleaned, milled, millaxed, and spun to separate the oil from the water. The final results were giant plastic jugs of olive oil which would eventually be bottled (or in this case, canned), labelled, crated, and shipped to Canada.
The work was tedious, and slow, but the company was great, the weather ideal, and the surroundings magical. We had the privilege of living like a local for a week. Slowing our lives down to literally smell the roses. Whether we decide to return again in the future is still up in the air. However even if we don't, we had an experience of a lifetime. Abruzzo was one of those unexpected trips that we went into not knowing what to expect, but came away pleasantly surprised. It was safe to say that it satiated all of our senses, but why wouldn't it. After all it was Italy.

Exploring Abruzzo Before We Embark On Our First Pick - Olive Picking In Italy Part 2
Переглядів 257Місяць тому
Technically our first full day in both Ofena, and Capestrano was spent getting to know the lay of the land. I called this the buttering up phase of the pick, as at this point, no olive picking had taken place. Why did I call it the buttering up phase? Because Angelo treated us to a nice meal the evening of our arrival, which allowed us to get to know the people with whom we would be doing the p...
Dreams of Olive picking In Ofena, Italy turned out to be more work than the romance it conjured up.

Italy! A place many people dream of visiting and if they have been there before, dream of one day returning. Where else can one experience the romance of a gondola ride in Venice, the sweeping, colourful vistas of Tuscany, or the crystal blue waters of the Amalfi Coast. Let's not forget about the well preserved world famous destinations in Rome such as The Colosseum, or The Pantheon. Then there...
What Happened To The Quaint Little Puerto Morelos
Переглядів 967Рік тому
Is it safe to travel to Mexico today with all that has been going on? We did, survived it, and loved it. We spent 6 week in Puerto Morelos a small fishing community between Cancun, and Playa Del Carmen. I recently heard it described as a drinking community with a fishing problem, which I thought was hilarious. The town of Puerto Morelos is separated into two distinct areas, the Port Side, where...

In Berlin….Don't fall into this trap!!

What I was expecting from Berlin, and what I really discovered were completely different. I wrongly thought Berlin would be beer halls, and rebellious punk rockers. How wrong could I be. In fact Berlin is a modern, bustling city, full of energy, and youthfulness. There is no Haute Couture or trendy style per se. Instead, it is a city that appears to be accepting of just about any walk of life. ...
Germany Drone Video - Berlin, Leipzig, and Dresden

We recently travelled to Germany for a wedding, and decided to add on some extra time exploring East Germany. In addition to Berlin, we visited Dresden and Leipzig, all three cities were under communist rule until the fall of The Berlin Wall in 1989. On this trip, I elected to bring my brand new DJI mini pro 3 with me. I checked in to all of the rules of drone flying in Germany, and all were co...
Alligator hunts my drone In the Villages Florida

It is estimated there are over 1,300,000 alligators living in Florida. It has been said many times, if there is a fresh body of water, there will be a gator living in it. The Villages, with its approximately 450 bodies of water, is the perfect home for alligators. It is common to see an gator sunning itself on the edges of many golf course ponds in The Villages. It was my intention to get some ...

The Shocking Truth about The Swingers in the Villages Florida
Переглядів 1,2 млн2 роки тому
The Villages Florida is known as a tidy retirement in Florida in central Florida located close to Ocala Florida. For all its charm, The Villages also has the reputation of being a community full of swingers that spread sexually transmitted disease so prolifically, it is considered to have the highest rate of STDs per capita in all of North America. The Town squares feature live bands and happy ...

Is This Going To Happen to us Again While Whale Watching
Переглядів 4562 роки тому
A trip to Sayulita is an opportune time to do a whale watching excursion. But, after having taken many whale watching tours over the years, we had become cynical about the possibility of seeing any whales. Short of seeing a glimpse of a whale while whale watching off the west coast of Canada, we had been perennially shut out. We had a good feeling about this trip however, as we had seen dozens ...

Have you ever collected grapes? If not, try to do this next year.

People are gullible enough to believe anything they read online.
I am not hearing any downsides to this community at all! I am ready to now 😂

You work your whole life to get to spend some of your fruits ! Live it up ! Balls to the walls because you never know !
Get in where you fit in and win win winning streak win win win win
Are you a dope? I read articles like this and have to LMAO! !!! The swinging community in the villages doesn't meet others for swinging at the restaurants, stores, bars, and town squares!!!! LOL! Omg are you clueless... Those are the last places they'd ever look. 99% wouldn't want to be outed....... They meet new people at the villages through swingers dating sites. Before you run to the internet you need to know, for security, privacy, and anonymity, you have to be verified by an existing member of that site that they know you before you find out anything at all. Also, single guys? unless you have a girlfriend who plans to partake in the festivities? You have about a 1% chance of meeting a couple here. Currently, in the villages I know of at least 60 couple involved. I'm sure there are more. There are also a scattering of single women, and not too many single men. A lot of these couples move out here in groups of friends they've made in the lifestyle from different parts of the country when they retire. Most have already known the group they play with for sometimes decades before even moving here. The only time you'll see these lifestyle groups you wouldn't even know it. Some may just be out in a group for dinner, or for ones birthday. If you think they're out looking for someone? You are greatly mistaken.
oh there swingers there you just have to talk to people two find out out where there at !!!!
I got this feeling about these places but didn’t want to say
It's Florida. I doubt it's a rumor. That state is batsh*t crazy in so many ways.
I would take anything with a grain of salt.....dont believe everything you hear or read.
Agree 💯 % it’s all about adding additional likes with follows.
It is not forbid to buy or own a home under 55. You can be 19-54 and own up to 20% of the population.
Talk about a bait and switch commercial 🥴
Wrong headline you only talked about entertainment! DAAAAAAAAAAAA
Point out something positive

I can’t think of two better people to have a travel channel. Colour me subscribed! I can’t wait for the next time you bump into Neil Young! ;)’
Cause it is, your just not in the circle of them. lol
You are a goddamn fraud. The implication, by the title of this thing is that we'll be both informative and hopefully even a bit titillating, but at least informative. it is not any of the above, , and sounds like it comes across as something from the chamber of commerce.
too many trumpbots
5:30 recognize some of the vendors
I don't care about the rumours but I don't want to ever live in an old persons ghetto. I want to see young people and families all my life as well as older people.
A bait and switch video 🤨
I wish that someone would post a true post. There are swingers everywhere in the USA and the world. You just have to look for it.
went there once taking an elderly parent on a visit. never want to see it again.
Whine, Whine, Whine. Poor Gringo.. 🥲🥲 Glad you didn't like it...Don't come back. We love it here whine free.
Great tip...don't try to cross a busy 4 lane highway in the middle of the block. Go to where the lights are. What an original concept. They should teach this in the US! Oh wait...
horrible video
Have they thought about renaming this place "STDville"?
that's 3 minutes wasted.
I was looking for swinger content, not all the amenities and show schedules 😂
Wow! Click bait extravaganza! The topic of swinging is totally not addressed until the last seconds of the video. Glad I got bored and skimmed through most of it.
The sex swingers wear white tennis shoes.
👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
The villages is nothing but an overpriced sex club.. it's full of horny old people... Gross😂😂😂
Nursing homes have the same reputation!!
Can you say penis pump??
Gee why not come to CACAFORNIA where you can enjoy HIGH CRIME, Home Break-In's , 13 percent State Tax Rate, Closing stores and Businesses, Expensive Health Care but knowing that Socialist DemoCrat's Run & Ruin the state while providing FREE Health Care Services to Illegal Immigrants while you Pay Out The Nose should make you FEEL a whole lot better !
