Just my two centavos but many people move to Mexico to save money instead of the love of the people and country. They don't learn the language or the customs. In addition, they bring a sense of arrogance, too, and act as if they know more than the locals. My advice for people moving to Mexico is to get involved with the locals. Watch and listen and ask questions. Be humble and open minded. It's a tough transition and not for everyone.
It’s definitely the same as SOME places in the. USA. I wouldn’t say it’s the same as ALL places lol I can tell you it’s a lot more affordable than Toronto. Especially if you live, eat and shop outside of the tourist area!
@@Morelifediaries My family all lives in Toronto, it is INSANE, we live very well on $3000 CAD or about $2300 USD per month in SE Asia, not including air travel, our budget is $5,000 CAD or about $3500 USD, we rarely hit our limit, only when renting a vehicle and flying to other countries, that costs a lot, but well worth it once in a while!!!!
Have lived here full-time for 13-plus years, have been back to the US exactly once, 11 years ago. I do not plan to leave PV. I'm a permanent resident since 2015, married to a Mexican citizen, enrolled in IMSS, and probably will start the citizenship process next year. Mexico is home now.
I'm moving there in September from the US. Have heard about costs rising and people leaving because their fixed income isn't going as far. I understand it. I'll be working remotely as a telehealth therapist that I currently already do in the US so income won't be an issue for me. Rented a home in the Versailles neighborhood for a year's lease and went through a service that walked me through the temporary visa process, which made it so easy. There will be things I will need to adjust to like having patience and understanding the infrastructure is not what I'm used to but there are trade offs. I'm so glad I am renting a home with solar panels so it will ease the electric bill since I'm sure I will be running the A/C a lot during the worst of the summer months, but the house also has a pool so that will help. I'm still excited about the move and most looking forward to becoming fluent in Spanish instead of just conversational. I want to really immerse myself into the culture and the locals and live an authentic Mexican experience. I don't like the arrogance many foreigners bring. I recognize I am a guest in the country and I need to assimilate to their way of life.
That's awesome! You will love it! There is some getting used to but all of that really depends on the individual. You seem like you have the right mindset :)
Lived 5 years in PV. It came to a point that I couldn't support the noise and the lack of respect for human life, animals welfare, environment, neighbors, lineups even pedestrians. I returned to Canada and it's so clean, respectful, quiet, incredible.
Thats all of Mexico no doubt, but on the other hand it can be pretty great too. I've been asked over the years for advice, some wisdom and have shocked a number of people by stating precisely what you have said and the importance of accepting that reality first.
@@Morelifediaries me too I spent all my time in Vallarta in Casa Kimberly before it was a hotel. My friend Toy bought the house from Elizabeth Taylor and I spent Winter time there and living just above El Centro in an open air home the “noise” was amazing. Church bells, donkeys on the cobble stones, the kids going past on Calle Zaragoza to the Catholic school in the morning! Roosters! I DO remember before McDonalds and Dominoes how the idiot tourists would piss and moan about not being able to get fast food! lol.. with the fabulous local food and fresh fish !! One has to GO to Mexico to SEE Mexico and APPRECIATE Mexico for THEIR culture. PV is paradise
@@jeffreymartin6369 what strikes me about it is that people seem to have to work so hard but they seem so happy. americans are unhappy and unhealthy obese and stressed out.
There's always been high mobility both in and out of Puerto Vallarta of both Mexican nationals and foreigners. Every year new people arrive in town and the largest part decides to leave (for whatever reasons). This is the way it's been ever since it became a famous beach resort. However, in the long term a small group of people decides to stay and those are the ones that have made the city grow. So, it may seem like a lot of people leave but the final balance indicates the number of new inhabitants is always increasing.
As a Mexican/American I can’t wait to leave the U.S and go to Mexico for a few years❤️ Reconnect with my roots,Spanish is my firs language anyways and Mexico is so beautiful . The politics well Mexico soon will have the first woman president and is progressive. I have family too and yeah I’ll be great👏🏼🇲🇽 It’s cheaper too! Not to mention most parks in the U.S are infested with Zombies, drugs and homeless. So I rather take the beautiful parks in Mexico ❤
I lived down there for a dozen years. Be prepared, you may be Mex-American but Mexican nationals will look at you as an outsider, not a gringo, but close. This surprised me. Just be prepared.
You will love it, even Mexico City , don’t worry this is just because they have little kids and need help from family! I live in PV! Love it every day 💖 from San Francisco California
Informative video, well done. We moved to La Paz, BCS seven years ago from the left coast of Canada. We had travelled extensively around Mexico, South America, SE Asia and India for many years in search of the ideal retirement location. La Paz checked 90% of the boxes. People, food and overall vive is very laid back. Yes it does get hot from July to October, but we have never once needed a snow shovel, ice scraper or long pants. Flip flops work just fine. Cheers
We’ve been here for about 4 years, my wife and I thought we needed a break from PV so we visited a couple places for 2 months and it made us appreciate Pv again we love it
This flight to other countries is not going to work. I lived in Mexico for years. But that was when the dollar was strong. Now the peso is strong so there goes the economic advantage. Then, what you don't expect is the intense heatwaves, drought and that causes blackouts and water shortages. No place is safe and there are no utopias on the planet.
Hi, from inland highland Mexico mountain area. I did Baja, many places in the Oaxaca coastline, before realizing that I just couldn't handle the heat. And I honestly thought that I was the quintessential Beach gal, but nope
The weather is pretty much perfect year round in Ensenada. The cool ocean water tends to keep the temperatures in the cooler range. It's comparable to how the weather is in San Diego and that's been called one of the best living climates in the world. Today was the warmest it's been so far this year at a sunny 71 with a low tonight of a very comfortable for sleeping temp of 57. No bugs or mosquitoes and because no a/c is needed my electric bills average around $7 to $9.00us max per month. Buena suerte!
I felt exactly like that living in Canada for 17 years and being from Mexico those feelings are common wherever you move in the world… but life is meant to experience and live in the moment, the beauty of our times is that you can make those dreams come true and then if you decide move back to another place in the world ❤ the psychological aspect of moving and finding the right place for permanent or temporary homes is our passion❤
All I can think of is how blessed mexico is in every aspect of the word, my kids love it, best years of my life there!❤ Even the energy of the sun seems different there.
Not looking so great with Howler monkey's dropping dead due to the heat, rolling power blackouts and a massive water shortage in Mexico City as the heatwaves and drought continue.
Lots of people from the Coasts and the North who move to places like Houston also learn they cannot take the summer heat AND the mosquitoes, so they move back to a cooler, more comfortable place.
5k on the way!!!!!! love you guys. Like in the USA, Mexico is suffering from price increases on the basic things: food, gas, housing. This is a global phenomenon, and while the increase of wealthy foreigners plays it's part, it's not the only factor. Again, this isn't just Mexico... cost of goods and services is up worldwide. I do what I can to live with as little impact as my lazy self can muster. Cooking at home helps, eating less meat helps the budget (and the world). Keeping driving to a minimum (btw something that San Pancho and NYC both share....it's a place where walking works for almost all needs.) love to you guys, great vid
It's definetly global! And you're right wealthy foreigners play a part and greed plays another! We also live modestly most of the time in comparisson to how we used to live in Toronto and spend 1/3 to 1/4 the amount we used to and are happier than ever. Thanks for watch Shaun!!!
Puerto Vallarta is one of the few places in Mexico we never visited, and we still want to. But we left Mexico after two and a half years and returned home. We love Mexico, but it felt like the country wasn’t paying attention to the infrastructure problems. I’m glad it’s working out for you. There are so many positive aspects to life in Mexico.
1. We are a family of six and have lived here for 3 years. Prices have definitely gone up. I know of so many families moving to cheaper areas and some have moved back to their home country. 2. You can apply for a temporary residency very easy to do. (You are not able to work in country but you can work online) 3. I would suggest to get an online job. I did this for about a year. 4. Message me if you have questions.
Moved here 3 yrs im mexican american never gelt more free and even safer. Couldn't care less if it's just as much as Houston now I'm staying here I love it!
I've been coming to PV every year for the last 30 and it's changed. 1 Even five years ago $1 beers could be had, now the price is much higher. 2 When I interact with locals they are less friendly and sometimes hostile, I blame that on the popularity of PV and too many rude tourist. The cruise ship days make the Malacon a disaster and I avoid being there then, but the proposed hike in port tax may cause ships to avoid PV which could help. I still believe in the hospitality of PV and saw that first hand when I got on the wrong bus and ended up in a area few tourist visit, a non English speaking taxi driver took me back to my resort and the guards were surprised. 3 The resorts have moved upscale and bargains are harder to come by, even the downtown hotels are charging more so it feels like other options may be worth exploring.
Thank you for sharing! Our experience is different living here vs. travelling here for short stays - we find people very friendly and helpful and have had not a single negative experience with locals. The prices going up can be said for just about anywhere in the world - especially in the last 5 years so PV is no exception. Cruise ships coming into town is an inconvenience for us foreigners or tourist but they equal a big pay day for all who work around the port and on the Malecon so I doubt that having them not come is a good thing for locals.
Hello friends !! I move to Puerto vallarta 2 years ago and i loved .. The heat is not for everybody it's either you loved or you hate.it plus most of the people move here to save money not for love of the people or the country sadly most of immigrants or expats don't get involved with the local people they come with very arrogant mentality.. mexican people are very kind and generous but in general is not for everyone mexico is a unic country and is not cheap to live in paradise Great video amigos saludos!!
@@MorelifediariesHola Marco, Kat and kids! The weather is perfect in the PV to Mazatlan area though the winter but can be brutally hot and humid during the summer months where just don't dare to spend anytime outside....Kat, don't melt in the heat sugar! You guys should look me up if you ever want to explore Ensenada. Marco I'll show you and the family some nice places to surf around town and up through the many point breaks up to the Rosarito area. Buena suerte!
For me, I had “wintered” for at least 3-4 months, or more, in southern Mexico, as well as travelling around other parts since 2016. I love the people and culture, but not the lack of infrastructure. I found health care very hit and miss, it’s fairly common to get sick or injured while on holiday there. I enjoy many of the areas, but as a retired person, it has become too expensive for my budget, the value is no longer there, with all the stuff that goes wrong.
A lot of older folks are also finding it very difficult making ends meet here with increasing insurance prices! That being said it’s significantly cheaper than a lot of towns and cities in the rest of North America!
There's lots of outstanding places to live in Mexico. I like P.V. for several reasons and there's some negatives there, too. There's other outstanding places in Mexico, but there's also other countries in central and south america, too.
Hola ❤ soy Hayley de Canada .. mi encanta los personas de Costa Rica nicaragua y Mexico.. eres MI amigos ! I will be a good immigrant porque soy muy interesante en la corazon & Jesus Cristo ♥️ 🙏 also i am learning spanish because i enjoy it! Es muy divertida! Mucho gusto! 🎉@juliohidalgo669
I hope to get a little place down there but probably not in PV because of the expense. However nearby say a few hours away by bus in a better cooler climate life is less expensive. Then I’d be able to visit PV easily for a few weekends.
When you talk to people from that area of Mexico as I have...It is considered a big city to many folks...I never thought of this way coming from San Francisco but I have been corrected many times for saying I love this small town to my Mexican friends...
I’ve been here for 2 1/2 years. I love it but I’m now experiencing trouble with the local men. They are not keen on women with voices. So if they are flirty to sell you something and you dont respond the right way, it offends them and some can become aggressive/unkind. Also the infrastructure. The city is becoming more populated and they can’t keep up. The streets are narrow, and the traffic is horrendous at certain times a day. I also dislike that they’re not as strong with their payment processors. Some days they work. Some days they don’t. And if the payment processors don’t work. You’re stuck. Especially if you don’t carry cash. And some days you just don’t have cash in your pocket and it’s easier for Canadians and Americans to swipe a card. I got trapped at the Walmart for seven pesos. I literally had to use the ATM machine that cost tons (I plan for my withdrawals) to leave the Walmart parking lot. All because their processing system was down.
It is thoroughly understandable .i .found it so busy and crazy rents even in smaller towns ...it's a global thing.....less and less online opportunities..it's sad .but sadly a sign of the times...all the best
It does not matter where foreigners move in Mexico, at the end where ever they go it will be expensive, because they make it expensive. They don't understand that when they are willing to pay more for goods than what locals do, they drive everything up, so having said that they create a harsh enviroment for locals as well. Not blaming any one here, just giving you feed back. Need to learn the cost of living in the areas and stick to that, once they start paying more there is no way going back.
@@Morelifediaries I suggest to make a video about that topic, teach foreigners that they MUST learn the cost of goods, because it affects everyone including them.
The Canadian dollar is currently valued at 14.52 Mex pesos, so that's the range its always been since I've been travelling to Mexico for the last 25 years. And in the earlier years it exchanged at 10 to 1. So, it's even better now. The real reason is there are two prices, one for foreigners, and one for locals. It didn't use to be that way, or if it was, it was still cheap enough that it didn't matter. Plus, many people are saying the atmosphere isn't very friendly anymore. Maybe that's justified, but it does seem that way.
Not true I’ve seen the Canadian Dollar as as high as 17.5 pesos in the last 25 years but maybe you should look at it differently. 25 years ago you could get a beer for 10 pesos now 40 to 50 . You could get a street taco for 4 pesos now 25 to 30 the Canadian Dollar just doesn’t go as far in Mexico anymore and especially in a tourist hot spot like PV.
A few things for me. I feel it's just too hot all the time. Another is there is nowhere to really rollerblade/skate and too hot to exercise outside. The roads and streets are broken and or cobblestone or covered in polvo in most areas. I feel like there are no "Real" parks. Like a central park. Its like all malecon and that's it. Even when I go to Tepic, they have great parks and invest in the city. I don't feel that in Puerto Vallarta. These are the biggest negatives for me. It's easy to get bored too after you've seen everything over and over again. I'll likely not ever leave, but these are real drawbacks for me personally. I've thought about making PV homebase because it is a really great place but maybe do more visits to Guad, DF, other places in Mexico more. I think if I'm away more, I'll appreciate everything I like about it more.
We found it really helpful to have a car here! We're able to drive short distances North or South and see new things all the time. We've honestly never gotten bored! Got lot's more to explore :)
@@Morelifediaries Yeah that definitely helps for sure. I like to go down to Boca de Tomatlan or take trips from Marina Vallarta via boat to the southern beaches. Getting around and seeing things is key. Tranport by car, boat and bus is very easy here. If you can get used to the driving (lol).
Everybody? What a absolute word. How about some people? How about a number of people? This is one aspect I hate about media. Anything to create panic, sensation.
We hate media! We don’t consume ANY of it! We’re a fun family UA-cam channel talking about our life here! We usually don’t clickbait but thought it would be funny to experiment with it because it makes ZERO SENSE that EVERYBODY would leave ANYWHERE - the issue is that it worked lol
We are traveling to PV and driving to Punta Mita. Bringing family. I keep getting the look from people here like I'm taking them to a dangerous place. What's your thoughts?
Very honest video. Although my interest is not to live outside the USA, those who entertain the idea should take heed to your observations. Like the quote goes, "Advice is least heeded when most needed." Thx. Your East Coast friend from Maryland. You know; the guy who is concerned about ' hand washing'.
haha "Hand Washing" made me laugh!!! The reality is some people come and some people go! We love it so much here and wouldn't choose to live anywhere else at this moment and time. There's also nothing wrong with people wanting to live something different short term, growing, learning, gaining new perspective!
If its expensive for the foreigners, imagen how it is for the locals . I am sorry but the main reason why everything went up in price is because of the high demands of the foreigners. Where I live the rent use to be like 2,500-3,000 per month for 2 bedroom home like 3 years ago or even less but now those same houses cost even up to 6,000 or 7,000 a month because there has been a lot of foreigners moving here lately.
Thank you for sharing Laura. Yes that it definitely a factor in prices going higher. A lot of foreigners come here and also stick to the touristy restaurants and shop, live in expensive neighbourhoods so it can get very expensive very quickly. As for the price of rentals doubling in PV - it is not unique to here - rentals have quite literally doubled in Toronto since pre-pandemic as well. It's terrible!
Puerto Vallarta's 2024 population is now estimated at 567,694. In 1950, the population of Puerto Vallarta was 4,809. Puerto Vallarta has grown by 11,598 in the last year, which represents a 2.09% annual change. These population estimates and projections come from the latest revision of the UN World Urbanization Prospects. These estimates represent the Urban agglomeration of Puerto Vallarta, which typically includes Puerto Vallarta's population in addition to adjacent suburban areas. its all relative. those who can afford it, will continue to go.
With gentrification comes higher costs of living/etc. In my view that has a lot to do with how things are in Mexico. I could go on and on but you can get my point. Mexico is beautiful ❤️🇲🇽💯
Most countries in the world have seen a spike in cost of living! Gentrification is a factor but NOT the only factor and people forget that. Viva mexico :)
PV was the place to live about 10 years ago when I lived there. Now, so many expats moved there cost of living is high. Also crime is a big problem there. The crime numbers are NOT accurate because not everyone reports the crime because police do very little. Home break ins, cell phone theft, so many scams etc...I knew a person who was scamed by her housekeeps she knew 5 years. People move there because they think it's going to be like there visits during vacation. My realtor friend said yes...more people are leaving than moving there. Also health care is "OK" if you need serious health care... the doctors in Mexico will tell you move back to US... LOL
Thanks for sharing! We have to respectfully disagree as we live here now as a family and absolutely LOVE it. We live amongst locals and live simply...best decision we've ever made.
Thanks for the video, we’re going to continue to winter there, how’s the Real Estate business going, hopefully you are crushing it, cheers from Midland, Ontario 😊
Thanks James! We don’t let others decisions influence ours and neither should you 😊 PV is as amazing as always and it’ll be that way when you come back!
One size fits all .....Guaymas San Carlos, Sonora Mex. When choosing a “permanent”place to retire for good, considering your age, medical services, health, budget amongst other things, like climate etc, there is no best, country, city or region! Every country, región has its magic! But of course you know all this. A retired Airline Pilot, born in Mexico, arrived in ‘88 in La Paz, in BAJA California Sur, still here, living in a nice neighbourhood! Fidepaz. Originally from the northern state of Sonora in Ciudad Obregón, the heart of the fertile agricultural Valle del Yaqui, Yaqui Valley where the Green Revolution started. Have you been to colonial Alamos, Sonora of rich history and few people ?…. Less than 20,000 inhabitants, no Home Depot, Walmart, no Costco, no Sam’s Club, only local markets! Great late 18 century Arched portal colonial homes! Want the ocean, for that San Carlos!
My dad is a retired pilot too. Alamos was the 1st town in Mexico that we lived in 50+ years ago, then I went to school in Guaymas & Chihuahua City. I'm so glad I experienced Mexico so many years ago & I still love going every chance I get. Hello from Yosemite National Park area! Alamos is truly special!
It’s paradise when you are inside with AC… We could personally never live in PV! 🥵🥵🔥🔥☀️☀️ Wayyyyy to hot and humid for us! Everybody is built different
I guess! But if you don’t have ac you acclaimed as I have after 3 summers it doesn’t even bother me! Today I sat outside a cafe as it’s too cold inside 😂 and the breeze was amazing and so was the food
Cost of living rising in states too if you’ve been gone for only 2-5 yrs and you’d be shocked to see how unaffordable it is to live in US. It’s going to get worse because of current political changes. Now is the time to leave
We're canadian so our cost of living has been bananas for a very long time lol We we're back in Toronto for the first time in 2 years this summer and it's very expensive.
Do the cartels make you get approved for a work visa first? I was considering taking a 6-12 month vacation there and trying out being a sicario. I heard it pays well? Any answers help. Thank you!!!
One thing that would be in the back of my mind is the stability of the area.Taken over by the drug cartels, like Acapulco for example. But it’s good to hear your views.
I was there 1998 and found it already too late ... IMO, expats in the 50's 60's had it made there. And what I am seeing that all fav expat places globally are increasingly more expensive to live now, due to OVER tourism driving up prices everywhere.
I have been living in Mx for 15 years started in Cabo and did not like it. Big tourist destinations are not good quality places for living permanently. Especially if you are raising a family. Job quality is also low the hotel business is not reliable for good jobs in the long term. Living inland up in temperate mountains is way better!
We love PV. Been coming here for over 25 yrs. PV is like the Beverly Hills of Mexico.you must come here for the customs. And the family lifestyles and traditions. We love it. We live in Palm Springs. CALIF AND OUR SECOND HOME IS PV. The prices go up EVERYWHERE. So get use to it. SEE YOU IN AUGUST. WE LOVE THE HEAT.
In reply to a comment - they don't think what I said will happen. Well here's the back story, that if you spend most of your time on Social Media you would not know about. By the way I am a Degreed Economist also. 1.) This IS a 230 year Super Cycle Depression. This one will make the 1930 Depression look like a cake walk. YES, those living in Mexico will have it better UNLESS you're dependent on retirement or checks from USA? Which makes up 90% of the Expats in Mexico. Love Mexico and want to stay - invest in Mexico, returning Pesos to you NOW! The Mex:USD might drop as low as 5:1, so those remote workers will be rushing back OUT of Mexico. Don't think it possible? 1994 it was 3:1!!! It won't stay there for may only 6 months and then start back up - but it will PROBABLY get there, because the US Govt. is trying to Crash the USD, to make it cheaper to pay down the US National Debt. 2.) Pto. Vallarta economy totally dependent on US/Canadian/European visitors. All 3's Economies are headed down into this Depression - so YES, the Pto. Vallarta economy will dry up like prune left out on the sidewalk in the summer in Mexico. Can't happen? I remember when it did happen to Oceanside, CA. after the Vietnam War. It became like a Ghost Town. Many, many of the storefronts and hotels boarded up. IT WILL HAPPEN in Pto. Vallarta. Your two and most of your followers are still in "La La Land" mentality. Go pick up some books on Economic History! Oh, and the weather. Most long term expats have learned "the coast is unliveable for at least 4 months of the year". Stay living there and it will age you prematurely - at least as how you skin and outward appearance looks after 10 years of that heat.
Thanks for sharing! Unfortunate you think everyone except you is in “la la land” you because you hold a “degree” - seems like you’ve got a lot left to learn about people and the world… best of luck friend 🙏🏼
Yes people do leave Puerto Vallarta and many people move into Puerto Vallarta.I think people who leave any place because they miss family ( duh ) what did you think. It's like if you live near the beach all your life and now you move to a desert town do you think you might miss the beach. If you are not ready to move away from family then don't move.I would not want to live in Puerto Vallarta it's too touristy for me and I prefer colonial towns over beach cities, but I would love to visit Puerto Vallarta .
You definitely need to be at peace with leaving everything you know behind. That being said, sometimes things aren't what you expected and there's no harm in going back if that's what you feel is the right thing for you!
Glad to hear there were not negative reasons why expats were leaving PV. Like feeling unsafe or having bad experiences with Mexicans. 😊 Remember, We are here on this lifetime to change the world and make it easy to migrate to other countries without the headachea of finances and issues with immigration services.
Things are changing everywhere! I'd say some of the things the Canadian government (where we're from) have done in the past couple years are pretty scary!
Surely high prices has something to do with it ? -- Inflation. Greed. -- Not just there - much of Mexico is getting more expensive - given the strength of the peso increasing. -- Many people are looking to S E Asia for much less expensive living. > Up to 70% cheaper in some areas of the Philippines - over the US average ! -- Cambodia nearly as much. -- Significantly cheaper than much of Mexico. -?- Cost of living is becoming more and more important as inflation continues to destroy the middle class !!! - - - Obviously - well to do aren't as effected.
Yes the mosquitoes, the crabs in rainy season, the non stop thunder and lightening lol the monsoon raining....just to name a few in rainy season hate to admit I do not miss that part lol but I lived in Nuevo Vallarta way before it was built up.
@@Morelifediaries it thought you were going to say the waterfall streets lolol but sound like you're closer to la Joya? The old movie set for predator?

I appreciate this video so people won’t come 😅 I don’t even get that hot ! I walk every day, it does take 2 years to acclimate! I don’t even sweat much ! Where do you live in Ixtapa not PV? Parks are great for kids in Zona ! Water parks and amusement parks here too!,?
Thanks for sharing! We live near 5 de Diciembre. Love it here ❤️ respectfully the acclimation to hear, everyone sweats a lot all the time - we live in a local neighbour Mexicans will tell you the same - you are in the minority if you don’t lol
I have heard that artificial intelligence has take out a lot of people from teaching English here in Puerto Vallarta it was like a really good way to make money and it no longer exists
Interesting .. So many expats coming here to Cebu PHilippines.. I am guessing because the USD / CAD / AUD / EUR is so strong this past year. Me.. Im looking setting up in PV becuase of being on same time zone as US and closer to family roots.
Great clickbait title for the video and the statistics for your channel indicate that it worked so congrats. Now what are the statistics that you can share to support it please? So is "everyone" selling their properties or exactly who is "everyone?"
Hae lived in Patzcuaro, Michoacan for 10 years. Much cooler at 7,000 feet. But, even here, climate change has had it's effect. Lago de Patzcuaro is drying up rapidly. I hate air conditioning! The beach towns are way too hot!
I lived in hot and humid Florida for thirty years, ten feet from the edge of the ocean. I waited a long time for Al Gore's glacier tide to rise. Extreme climate change is a hoax. Just another taxation scheme. I am an eleven year resident of PV.
if people are leaving then i'm happy. i want it to myself . it grew way too much over the last 20 years too much development too many " investors" that shit and those people fuck up every city they touch including mine.
@@Morelifediaries it makes it hard for the locals. they don't always have the income to keep up with rising rents etc. and of course the changes affect the cultural experience. that's why i never stay in nuevo. if i wanted to stay in a marriott with a bunch of americans i can do that at home. of course i like that lgbt folks can be fairly open in the old town. although i hope my lgbt brothers and sisters are behaving respectfully i worry about that. i think we should be better not worse, than our straight counterparts as a way of showing our gratitude for the locals welcoming attitude.
very well put together vid. but the premise of it is i beleive incorrect.i was raised in fort lauderdale fla. very similar to pv. people come and go in tourist towns. its a natural progression but its certainly not anywhere near a mass leaving. in fact the population here continues to grow. and as far as price increases her... been to to or vancouver lately ny miami all same same even the philippines . its [andemic. anyway content content content right? stormyjoe
They should get a reality check that in North American the cost of living is through the roof. In Toronto you need 2500 just for a small one bedroom place and the weather is all over the place and it’s very difficult to get a job. So I’d rather be In Vallarta
i can see how people from northern countries like canada or northern us states the heat would kill them, but being from the south united states im very acclimated to the humidity lmao

Agree! We often talk about integrating, learning the customs, culture, language, way of life!
there is no savings moving to Mexico, from my experience it's about the same cost as USA

Canadian and we just bought there!! I love PV, we got permanent residency
Thanks for Sharing 😊 thanks amazing to hear!
Can I ask what service? I’m a therapist looking to move as well.
Lived 5 years in PV. It came to a point that I couldn't support the noise and the lack of respect for human life, animals welfare, environment, neighbors, lineups even pedestrians. I returned to Canada and it's so clean, respectful, quiet, incredible.
Yaazs China is beautiful
Thats all of Mexico no doubt, but on the other hand it can be pretty great too. I've been asked over the years for advice, some wisdom and have shocked a number of people by stating precisely what you have said and the importance of accepting that reality first.
Coming from downtown Toronto I respectfully disagree!

Yes! Not to mention the people who come and go seasonally!
Thanks for sharing! Mexico is amazing! We have a lot of similar issues in Canada!
I lived down there for a dozen years. Be prepared, you may be Mex-American but Mexican nationals will look at you as an outsider, not a gringo, but close. This surprised me. Just be prepared.
Just leave it fabulous here in PV or Mexico City San Miguel! Just do it 🦜

Cheers
We’ve heard great things about La Paz and have friends that relocated there from PV. Looking forward to checking it out one day 😊
We’ve been here for about 4 years, my wife and I thought we needed a break from PV so we visited a couple places for 2 months and it made us appreciate Pv again we love it

What and where makes you happy - do that! Don’t worry about the rest 🤙🏼
Mexico is gonna get stronger in their currency if they nationalize their silver and US dollar will continue it plummet
Yeah expats think they will find a utopia though and all they end up doing is driving up costs for locals wherever expats infest.

The weather is pretty much perfect year round in Ensenada. The cool ocean water tends to keep the temperatures in the cooler range.

Gonna get worse economically for ex-pats as the dollar slides and peso continues to rise. It will get just as expensive as up here.

Puerto Vallarta is one of the few places in Mexico we never visited, and we still want to. But we left Mexico after two and a half years and returned home.

“Everyone’s leaving” but then they say: yes, we know 4 or 5 couples that are leaving. LMAO. 4 or 5 couples out of 50,000. Ok

This amounts to click bait. "People leaving PV" is not the same as 4-5 couples that might be planning on leaving.
Where did they say everyone?
Smaller towns and smaller cities are super cheap.
Visited last winter, Puerto Vallarta is a paradise, made a video with a cost breakdown, looking forward to coming back
Awesome! I’ll check it out!

I'm in San Diego and we haven't been hot...mid 60's.
I hope to get a little place down there but probably not in PV because of the expense. However nearby say a few hours away by bus in a better cooler climate life is less expensive. Then I’d be able to visit PV easily for a few weekends.
Good plan! It's super hot
When you talk to people from that area of Mexico as I have...It is considered a big city to many folks...I never thought of this way coming from San Francisco but I have been corrected many times for saying I love this small town to my Mexican friends...
Haha 😂 that’s so true! We sometimes feel weird calling it a city because it feels more like a smallish town!
Thank you for sharing your experience :)
It is thoroughly understandable
.i
.found it so busy and crazy rents even in smaller towns ...it's a global thing.....less and less online opportunities..it's sad .but sadly a sign of the times...all the best
Thank you 😊 yes times are difficult everywhere!
Completely agree! We often talk about getting to know what things should cost!
@@Morelifediaries I suggest to make a video about that topic, teach foreigners that they MUST learn the cost of goods, because it affects everyone including them.
Thank you! I’m assuming you are new here! We talk about this subject A LOT lol
@@Morelifediaries Got it! Yes, I'm new, that explains it. 😁😁
Lol 😂 Silly logic. Who is selling the goods to foreigners and keeping that money?
The Canadian dollar is currently valued at 14.52 Mex pesos, so that's the range its always been since I've been travelling to Mexico for the last 25 years. And in the earlier years it exchanged at 10 to 1. So, it's even better now.
The real reason is there are two prices, one for foreigners, and one for locals. It didn't use to be that way, or if it was, it was still cheap enough that it didn't matter. Plus, many people are saying the atmosphere isn't very friendly anymore. Maybe that's justified, but it does seem that way.
Dollar is doing great right now. We don't share that experience of finding it unfriendly! If you try to assimilate people are great!

LOL

Do the cartels make you get approved for a work visa first? I was considering taking a 6-12 month vacation there and trying out being a sicario. I heard it pays well? Any answers help. Thank you!!!
Sure! Go ahead!
One thing that would be in the back of my mind is the stability of the area.Taken over by the drug cartels, like Acapulco for example. But it’s good to hear your views.
I doubt it would happen in PV but you never know!
Guys You should go to te cities of the Center on summers , and on winter You enyoi the beach , thats the perfect plan to be in México 😀
That's the plan eventually! Going inland and visiting family in Canada :)
I was there 1998 and found it already too late ... IMO, expats in the 50's 60's had it made there. And what I am seeing that all fav expat places globally are increasingly more expensive to live now, due to OVER tourism driving up prices everywhere.
THanks for sharing!
Seeing a lot of PV residents transplanting to Yucatan state
Interesting 🧐
I have been living in Mx for 15 years started in Cabo and did not like it. Big tourist destinations are not good quality places for living permanently. Especially if you are raising a family. Job quality is also low the hotel business is not reliable for good jobs in the long term. Living inland up in temperate mountains is way better!
Thanks for sharing…looking forward to visiting more places inland as well 😊
What about opening a small business???
Yes that’s an option for sure!
Thanks for sharing! MANY places have prices a lot higher than here - I’ll tell you that much! We love it here as well ❤️
Have been there.I think it's the cost the most. But not as much as the Baja.
I’ve heard Baja is pretty comparable in prices! Hoping to visit there I’ve also heard it’s beautiful
USA here, Mexico and south america US major trading partners. We also go china, india.
Yes!
Mazatlan is a better option.
It’s more affordable and offers more
Looking forward to visiting there someday!
That happens to people that love to Hawaii too
Yes!
Remember,
We are here on this lifetime to change the world and make it easy to migrate to other countries without the headachea of finances and issues with immigration services.
We don’t know a single person that has left PV because they didn’t like PV or felt unsafe! Bad experiences can and do happen anywhere - that’s life!
There are no expats the word is “immigrants “
We consider ourselves Immigrants but respectfully there are people that are "expats".
They do have museums in PV.
Yes! They do!
Foreigners are leaving Puerto Vallarta And foreigners are entering the United States 🇺🇸
I mean who wouldn't! They take good care of the folks walking accross lol
Two reasons. Its more expensive than the United States and the new government is very scary now be careful things are changing in Mexico
Wrong and wrong
Yes some places in Asia are way more affordable than North America in general.
How about India, Really cheap there.
@@jorgegonzales9815 there's very little that looks appealing about India as a place to live.
😂
Yes the mosquitoes, the crabs in rainy season, the non stop thunder and lightening lol the monsoon raining....just to name a few in rainy season hate to admit I do not miss that part lol but I lived in Nuevo Vallarta way before it was built up.
Thanks for sharing :) The thunderstorms are our favourite parts of rainy season - and getting to go swimming in the waterfall near our apartment!
@@Morelifediaries it thought you were going to say the waterfall streets lolol but sound like you're closer to la Joya? The old movie set for predator?
No we live near Cascada el Salto
Honeymoon stage? Wow I have loved it every day! No issues with visas at all got mine for $1200 us done! rent is 1/4 of rent in California!
Did you check El Salvador.
Immigration process is much easier.
I moved from Ontario-Canada
We’ve definitely been watching ES! We would consider it if we moved from MX
Is it really safe?
ES went from one of the most dangerous places on earth to one of the lowest homicide rates in the western hemisphere in less than a decade.
I have heard that artificial intelligence has take out a lot of people from teaching English here in Puerto Vallarta it was like a really good way to make money and it no longer exists
I am honestly not sure but I wouldn't be surprised! It's unfortunate because there's no better way to learn than speaking with another person!
Interesting .. So many expats coming here to Cebu PHilippines.. I am guessing because the USD / CAD / AUD / EUR is so strong this past year. Me.. Im looking setting up in PV becuase of being on same time zone as US and closer to family roots.
Yes it’s so much closer and cheaper
Great clickbait title for the video and the statistics for your channel indicate that it worked so congrats. Now what are the statistics that you can share to support it please? So is "everyone" selling their properties or exactly who is "everyone?"
…if they sell I’m buying 😎
Hae lived in Patzcuaro, Michoacan for 10 years. Much cooler at 7,000 feet. But, even here, climate change has had it's effect. Lago de Patzcuaro is drying up rapidly. I hate air conditioning! The beach towns are way too hot!
Very hot but we love it here :)
I lived in hot and humid Florida for thirty years, ten feet from the edge of the ocean. I waited a long time for Al Gore's glacier tide to rise. Extreme climate change is a hoax. Just another taxation scheme. I am an eleven year resident of PV.
If you want to laugh check out the Canadian Carbon Tax! If you want to cry check out the proposed Toronto rain water tax 😂
@@Morelifediaries ! And your point is?
Viva Mexico y Presidenta Scheinbaum !
👍🏼
I hope a lot of people leave. Maybe the rents will go down low enough for me to live there. It's not sad news for me. Wait?! Is this CLICK BAIT?!😂
It won’t because a lot more people come 😂
My opinion is that your too young with too much going on in life with family, friends ect.. PV is probably for people over 55yrs.
We strongly dissagre with you on that one!
Yep or I have many single young friends that live here and work remotely but no kids and they would never go back to Canada or Russia
if people are leaving then i'm happy. i want it to myself . it grew way too much over the last 20 years too much development too many " investors" that shit and those people fuck up every city they touch including mine.
Many cities and towns are going through the same unfortunately. Growing too rapidly is going to cause many issues in the upcoming years here
@@Morelifediaries it makes it hard for the locals. they don't always have the income to keep up with rising rents etc. and of course the changes affect the cultural experience.
that's why i never stay in nuevo. if i wanted to stay in a marriott with a bunch of americans i can do that at home. of course i like that lgbt folks can be fairly open in the old town. although i hope my lgbt brothers and sisters are behaving respectfully i worry about that. i think we should be better not worse, than our straight counterparts as a way of showing our gratitude for the locals welcoming attitude.
very well put together vid. but the premise of it is i beleive incorrect.i was raised in fort lauderdale fla. very similar to pv. people come and go in tourist towns. its a natural progression but its certainly not anywhere near a mass leaving. in fact the population here continues to grow. and as far as price increases her... been to to or vancouver lately ny miami all same same even the philippines . its [andemic. anyway content content content right? stormyjoe
Thanks for sharing your perspective Stormyjoe, it's a great point!
They should get a reality check that in North American the cost of living is through the roof. In Toronto you need 2500 just for a small one bedroom place and the weather is all over the place and it’s very difficult to get a job. So I’d rather be In Vallarta
Vallarta > Toronto 😎
You didn't say anything that would stop me from moving there I am single and have a hefty fixed income
i can see how people from northern countries like canada or northern us states the heat would kill them, but being from the south united states im very acclimated to the humidity lmao
I love the heat! Beats the cold all day!!!
