Hey Patrick, i did my buisness startup 2 years ago, and I have been very underconfident regarding cold calling which is the most crucial part of my business, it used to give me anxiety whenever i had to make a call. Since past 1 month i had to cold call 6 people, that i have been keep on neglecting, today i saw your video first time, after watching your video, i used your tactics and within 3 hours i made contact to all of them, and it worked, all of them took interest in my business, they gave complete time to take to me, and moved forward to work with me, thanks for saving me friend. Thanks a lot
this is a good news... cross fingers for your success :)
Definitely ask them how they are doing!! But I would personally NEVER ask them if it's a good time or not (it was respectful years ago) but today people are hectic and appreciate a concise approach. Based on my experience, go right in and pitch...THEY will tell you if it's not a good time. Personally, I automatically tell salespoeple who call me that it's not a good time. Then, you have no where to go. Tonality/voice inflection is paramount and I love your approach when you say, "I'm a little lost here..." People are inclined to want to help. Exellent script Patrick! Love your channel...let's continue the conversation.
Hey Peter thanks for sharing that feedback. I agree that asking if it's a good time can lead to a quick "No" which puts the salesperson in an uphill battle.
And you're right, most of this actually comes down to tonality and how you sound over the phone! It's not what you say, it's how you say it.
Looking forward to making more videos for you guys!
I think it depends on where you at and it's culture. In my country, it's little bit weird when we asking something such as " how are you doing", especially when it's first time we talk to each other. Thus, I'm still going with old style: if it's a good time or not. And it still fine so far
@@maituananh9005 That's a great point. You definitely want to adjust the script for your specific sale in your own country.
As long as you make it work for you, the technicality of the words you actually say isn't the most important.
Take inspiration from what I'm saying here but find your style and approach that works for you!
@@patrickdang yea i agreed with Patrick! You come here to asking for some inspiration, not to fix what Patrick used it all the time. It works for Patrick, but if it is not work for you, you can adjust it by yourself. It is not about what are you saying, BUT it is about how you say it again.
Great points. I also always like to say. "We have never met". because they are thinking, do I know you?. So i answer the question.
Anyone who cold calls knows, you do not ask for permission. You firmly lead the conversation..
You also do not lead the call with "Im a little lost.." confidence is key & no one wants the help of someone who is also lost.
Can you give me an example for how I can firmly lead the conversation
Hey Patrick, was recommended your channel by a Facebook group, watched one video, took immediate action and implemented your tonality and pitching strategies on my next 5 sales calls, and got immediate results! Thanks for your video 👊
I love that you mention! “Hey how are you doing today?”
I’ve heard many people say not to say this. In my experience I’ve been successful with both. I also share with my team “It’s not what you say but how you say it” I tell them to do what’s natural to them and they will be the most successful!
Hi Patrick, thank you for the great advice ❤ I used most of your script for a mock sales call during an interview and I got the job 2 days ago!
I'm soooo glad I found this video! I'm just starting to learn how to cold call, and wanted to follow a different approach from the usual "pushy", sales-y ones. Thank you so much Patrick!
Fantastic video. I'm following those steps. I do cold calling and complemented it with texting. I use Launch Control to break the ice and then I call follow-ups.
I was legit just calling & rambling at the 👄 this video definitely took me to the next level 💯 I can't believe I closed🔐 sales the old way😭😭😭
love how earnest and sincere your advice is... thank you!
Confident, positive, friendly & open
Hey Patrick,
My biggest takeaway from this is tone, I also like the part "I'm a little lost", I feel this not only grabs the prospects attention, but outs them in a mode where they are thinking how to respond to what you ask them next.
Another great video from Patrick👍📞
Hi - I must admit that I have a different view on building rapport on the first call. You say that asking them "how are they doing" is a master trick and should always be used. The simple answer is no - the reason is, it depends on who your target persona is. I work in sales and I only deal with cold leads (no warm/inbound marketing leads).
The people I target are C-level executives that have several hundred employees, and these people receive multiple cold calls a day. So even if you come across as nice, they don't give a shit, they want to know the reason why you're cold-calling them. So if you are appreciative of their time and ask them straight away if they're busy or if they have 30 seconds it means that you're respectful of their time, hence a professional salesperson.
If you bring value on that cold call they will agree to a meeting and the meeting is where you build rapport... Know your target audience (ie, end-user, manager, C-level executive) they all act different on the phone. The higher their position the quicker they want you to get to the point.
Suit yourself but how are you doing can’t possibly hurt as long as you don’t linger on it. Guarantee you a lot of those cold calls they get every day don’t open as friendly as that. It can make a difference
@@robbiegregg8377 I see what you mean. But these people aren’t here to speak to someone who is friendly or to have a friendly conversation. They want to get straight to the point, so if you have great value proposition they’ll take the meeting.
Patrick Dang delivering straight quality as usual! Appreciate the content brother.
Thankx for making this video man I usually don't comment, but this gives me a lot of learning and id love to see more of such videos, please do make a video where you are actually cold calling people as that will be put all of these together amazingly and we'd love to watch it
I'm working sales and really like your vids. Subscribed! Gonna watch more and thank you for your content!
I really like this it helps my cold calling, thanks for this.
This is great, I often go back and forth on rapport building at the beginning of calls but I guess it depends on the contact right? if they are more senior/director level then sometimes I think twice but great video!
Thanks Pst,I loved it.Just bumped into your channel, i feel empowered.
Hoping I get hired as an appointment setter. The sales reps, insurance agents close the deal. But I have to do the prospecting, outreach, and inbound calls & I have to be comfortable cold calling. I do believe that improves your skills & gets you better at talking to people & being a better communicator.
I saw your video and thinked this is brilliant. Then try it by myself and was my most stressful day in work this week. Never gonna do this opening again
Hey Patrick,
Your videos are great learning 👍
Perfect..thnx Patrick, it helps a lot
Hey Patrick,
Really appreciated your Udemy courses, which led me to subscribe to this channel. Love your upbeat and enthusiastic way of teaching, but I really appreciate the tips. In my case I love this video, as it gives it a different outlook than normal sales calls. Telemarketers with scripts have made it tougher for regular sales calls, which has immediately cause for someone to put a mental block when it sounds "salesy" but this a great balance. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you're learning from these videos!
Excellent video, Patrick! Enjoyed it thoroughly!
This refreshed tips really help too. Thanks.
Excellent video, Patrick! Enjoyed it thoroughly. Many thanks!
My G 🤝 I just tried using this script with few changes. It worked like a charm!
Hi Patrick many thanks for this video. I was looking for a script how to make a short present in the first call. Thanks for this line. ❤
Really appreciate your style. Nice
Thanks Patrick. Great video. I’m your new subscriber from Vietnam :)
Hey Patrick, can you make a video on how you reach the decision maker? I think in sales that's the most difficult part.
Thanks for the tips !
Thank you Patrick
i love your voice. so relaxing. I hope I can be like that with my australian client
Bro it's really do well . Your cold call opening lines really work . Because I have experience your opening lin bro . Thanks
Thanks for posting
Your content is what I was lucking man, I'm doing wonders man. cant believe its me doing it
This is brilliant stuff. Thank you for sharing.
About to start a career in sales and I have come across your videos. I have been bingeing all day. Hopefully, I can reduce my fear and apply your techniques to achieve success.
P1 learning
THANK YOU!
OMG !!!! You are super brilliant.
Nice strategy, appreciate it
thanks for the video. Definately agree about tonality and confidence.
Thanks for Watching
I really like your video. There is 3 parts in my call. Introduction, Explain the reason of the call, then closing for an appointment. For each part, I ask them a question and whether they answer yes or no, they are giving me permission to go to the next part. I will try the asking for help, it might actually gives some great results!
thanks for this insightful video Patrick! how about asking for the budget, how do you usually ask them?
i work in tech industry too, thanks in advance
Thank you for uploading this vedio. ..
I am into sales of GPS vehicle tracker.. Thanks for this video
Hello Patrick
I like your channel,,, it's very helpful for me. Thank you.
Pls make video on mutual fund or finance sales video tips for selling a financial product.
Thanks Patrick :)
i guess you could say this is some pretty *dang* good advice
I enjoyed your video it's very easy to understand and it's how you say something that makes a difference but most of your examples were you were already in contact with the person you wanted to talk to the problem I am having is getting past the GateKeeper I was even told that the voicemail of the person I needed to talk to they actually told me the voicemail was down any tips
I see a PD video, I like before watching, thank you for a practical video again.
Thank you for your attention! And I'm glad you're liking the vids.
Okay so this is awesome because I just got done watching your video on objection handling and now you're jumping to a cold calling video that you probably put all months ago who knows here is even I am new to the cold calling industry. I absolutely love it I've only been doing it for 6 months I am selling a window cleaning service I have one sales person of the week numerous times already and I just want to improve anyway I can my biggest objection is getting the people to stay on the phone past the name of the company or even my name it's almost like an immediate hang up before I can even pitch anything. Help me!!!
Set expectations at the beginning of the call by asking “do you mind if I take a second to tell you why I’m calling”
Hi Patrick,
Do you have any live training available, where you teach sales? I'm interested to do it live with you!
Especially after doing your online course that made me have more money haha!
I like that. I always ask how they are doing. Just to make it personal before I shift into the script. Some tell me not to open with how they are doing because we don’t care. But we actually do because we can get a connection or objection on the stop so we can adjust the script based on how they responded
Definitely ask them how the are doing! But I would personally NEVER ask them if it's good time.
Very Good Information Thanks
Excellent video man,I’m in the real estate game, this was great
Glad you enjoyed it!
God bless you for your wisdom
Thanks 🙏
Patrick this is really dope, thanks.
No prob

This dude is amazing!!!

Hi Patrick, I'm your new subscriber. Your videos helping me a lot ! Do more videos Thank You.
Sure! New videos every week
very helpful❤
Thank you. I liked the script. I'll be using it. "I'm a little lost...." That's counter-intuitive. I'm curious how well that will work.
You just earned yourself a subscription
Thanks 🙏
Hey Patrick... I really enjoy your UA-cams... and they certainly complement your Udemy Course very nicely...
Thanks Kent, appreciate that!
Great video. Informative and I am going to try the tips. But, how do I get past the receptionist and to the specific person I want to speak to?
Awesome! I applied your script for a role play in B2B Sale job interview. And I got a job! Thank youuuu. I'm so grateful.
Congratulations 🎉
where do you call? what app do you use to call?
I love you brother ❤️🔥🔥 this is fantastic. Thank you so very much 💕
Thanks for watching.

It’s my first day cold calling as a bdr for a software company, nervous but this helped
Nice, glad it helped.
Any updates?
@@Jessshenanegans yes I’m much more confident now
@@craigdankovich7607 nice congratulations
Why would you say that you are "lost" on a cold call?
Hopefully, you're sitting down in your office, not wandering around.
I'm thinking it's much more direct and effective to say "I'd like to get your assistance/feedback" or "I'm conducting a survey on xyz and I really value your input/feedback"
I have my assistants tell people that they are college students (which they are), conducting a survey (which they are) in order to get a better understanding of xyz..."
This has worked really well for us.
Nice. I was thinking the exact same thing.
Thanks a lot.
Getting through the intro and not stumbling with impactful questions
I just tried this technique on my first ever cold call, wasn't shabby honestly. Didn't lend the client of course but she said she'll keep my numbers for backup as she also is an Interior Designer. I lowkey feel it's a polite way of letting me down haha but it's good regardless. I guess the call also helped me overcome my fear of cold calling.
Thanks so much for this! I am a 3D visualization artist rendering for designers but I’m terrible at selling my services. I have a hard not being nervous. This was very helpful 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
how did cold calling help you in your business? I am curious if this works in Design industry.. how about cold emailing?
@@travelsizearchitect cold calls are the most effective way to connect with prospects, emails are way too easy to ignore.
@@travelsizearchitect It helps me. Web Design & hosting industry. I was prized about 40% of my current subscribed clients through cold calling. I immediately email them my contacts, design samples and referral page. Gets them everytime.
let me know if you still need help with selling your services.🤙
I just started my first sales job, cold calling Businesses to sell Telus products (mobility, internet, VOIP systems, fleet tracking software, payment processing systems, security etc.)
I would love a video about cold calls follow up please.
Excellent Video
Always a bunch of helpful insights, Patrick! You are helping newbies to be successful in this industry. Just a reminder to all telemarketers before making a cold call, make sure that the prospect clients you're calling didn't opt to be under Do-Not-Call list, or else, that's a violation and they may sue you for that.
Eat one
Fantastic and can you teach one for selling magazine advertising
Wow thank you so much for this! I am new in Sales and does this apply to Asia-Pacific Countries?
I honestly searched for great cold calling tips( and trust me I been searching all morning) 😑I have to say this is the one that gave the best tips thank you so much you wonderful person!! I have subscribed
Thank you. I've done many videos on this topic, feel free to look around!
@@patrickdang thank you🤗
Superb man 💣👌🏻
Thanks 🙏
Hi Patrick,
Just wanted to congratulate you on another awesome video. Keep up the good work and long life to your channel.
Thanks so much for the support. It's comments like these that keep the fire going.
You're very welcome. Because if your help through your videos, I was able to find the right tools to scale my junk removal business www.junkgods.ca to new heights.
Great video, though I wouldn’t ask, “Did I catch you at a bad time?” People will tend to say yes to such a question.
I like the Did I catch you at a bad time?
Hey Patrick,
Hope you are fine!
This is excellent, i use this type of script in company and it does work a lot.
Thanks for sharing this!
I have to confess when a salesperson starts off by asking me how I am, and I don't know them, that immediately puts my barriers up. I just want them to get to the point quickly so I can decide whether I am going to spend any more time on the call. How would you handle an awkward customer like me, Patrick?
I'd then ask you what you're looking to get out of the call and get straight to the point to see if I could help you or not.
Every customer is going to be different, so in any situation, my recommendation is to feel out what the customer wants and change your strategy on the fly.
@@patrickdang But, Patrick, I am making the cold call. At the moment, my prospect wants nothing from me. He probably wants me to end the call.
@@debugstore Build rapport with tonality and ask for "help". If they still aren't receptive, then that's okay. You can move on.
But you got to be honest with yourself on how well you're doing the first two steps.
Make sure you're recording yourself and listen to how you can improve your cold calls.
@@patrickdangThanks for your video Patrick. Also when you ask for help, it's actually not a question for help. In many situations the person who is called already knows that you are going to sell. How do you handle this?
@@debugstore at the end of the day cold calling is a numbers game. You're not going to sell every prospect, but the higher volume of calls you make the better your odds get
Awesome!
Patric my man thx for the help! I own a weightloss clinic in Chicago and i cold call to book apointments. I'm able to book the appointments however my show rate is down how do i get people interested/ excited on the phone to increase my show rate?
Hey Patrick,
Thank you so much for the best tips for cold-calling. I really followed the tips that you provided in your video. But could you please make a video for me that will be a great help in how I can cross the gatekeeper? Right now the data I am calling directly landed on the gatekeeper approximately 95% and when they transferred the call to the voice mail of the concerned prospect. It's the biggest headache for me.
Thank you for the amazing video Patrick? When you say "i'm a little lost", what does it mean? I don't understand why i have to say it to the owner before "do you mind if i take a second...."? Why do i have to ask for an help? isn't that a contradiction?
Thank you 😉
omg this is so coool my biggestchallenge is to convince them that the option I will provide worth so they are nice however they said not not I try to overcomming objections however they state no thank you they hung up I thing I am speaking to much so they dont feel well
"How are you doing today" anchors them in the present moment. Where the action is!
I'm a private investigator and my company specializes in locating lost, abandoned and unclaimed money. very helpful! what if the cold call goes to the front desk or the assistance? what should I say on the voice message to get a response?
