I had a gen 1 Haro Freestyler frame and forks that I bought from Mick Ives cycles in Coventry circa 1983 for £175. A lot of cash back then.. Anyway, I built it up with black Tuffs and profile cranks etc and eventually swapped it for a high end CB radio in the late 80’s . Hindsight is a wonderful thing…
Is the frame design tuff compared to other new modern frames and designs available?? I’d the components high quality and tuff or better options to consider please?
WAY Overpriced for what it is. Not paying an extra grand for bobs name scribbled on a sprocket. if you can't build it up yourself or set up a gyro, that would explain why you're paying twice what it's worth. You haven't a clue, don't ride and you want a wall hanger.
Flights with a 16t sprocket. Looks so stupid. I was a Hutch Pro Racer freak in 1984. That, I suppose, is the reason that I think the current bikes look so hideous. Comp III gumwall tires are available. Im I'm sure that is what was on the original. Dia Comp MX1000 brakes were the standard in 1984. Not anymore. I guess if you want a cool bike from head to toe, you will have to get an old one and restore it to brand new condition.
1982 video, no fancy brake lines and lower mount brakes and such, that stuff didn't come out until later, not sure when, as I remember and also confirmed in this video... freeze it at 1 : 20 in the video: "BOB HARO 'Wonder World' BMX Australia 1982" Could have been not his real bike since it might have been in Australia, I didn't watch the video for detail... Here's another where he goes over his 1984 bike and it didn't have any of that late 80's and 1990's and even later freestyle stuff: "bob haro talking about his haro freestyler 1984" Freeze it at 24 seconds in that video to see what's on his actual bike in 1984... So many people who were riding a BMX in 1982 are into BMX now which is cool but they don't know what was on the bikes in which years and most of them only remember the very late 80's and 90's bikes.
Such a great looking bike.
Those blue stickers look insane with the chrome. Nice ride! 👍

Lovely ride that..but gimme an old school haro any day of the week👍👍👍
Great bike! Is the geometry the same as the original? Cheers
I hope not, the original was sized for little kids. This probably has a 21 inch top tube.
But, is the bike worth the price ?
