Hey the bike turned out cool. It’s really unfortunate about the seat clamp not coming in the right diameter, I searched all over, but they don’t make that style in the width we need. I not calling you out for anything, but I thought you might like know, the brake pads are normally toed. Meaning the front end of the brake pads pointing in the direction of the handle bars, that part touches the rim first, so that you get a nice smooth brake connection hopefully with no juddering or squealing
I just ordered the dmc24 today on sale. I'm super stoked. I will definitely follow your lead with the skyways and the brakes. I'm just over the moon. Beautiful build.
I’ve only seen these from afar. This is a real trick rider’s dream. Those white spoke wheels were the right choice. They make that bike stand out. I had friends whose sons were BMXers and rode bikes like this. Good solid frame and would take all kinds hell that was given and laughed at em. Half pipes or dirt, these saw both and did both well. You go Big D! This is a treat to see this. Stay safe my mates!😊👍🏻😁
Williston Audio Labs in the house and a BMX nut to boot! Thanks for the video... I just ordered the 2021 Haro DMC Master and was wanting to do the same upgrades. This video helped me a ton! Keep up the good work! Also, as you can see, I LOVE the Kawi green...
Did you ever put a gyro on it? I just ordered a 24 inch master off of citygrounds for $430 with shipping. I had a master when I was a kid and had it for almost 20 years. it got stolen out my parents garage in 2012. I plan on making it look exactly like the one I had. The one I had was a mix match of different parts I liked as a kid. For instance, had dyno pretzel handle bars, a Hutch pentagram sprocket, dyno layback seat post, Redline 48 mags of an rl20, and a Redline 6 bolt front facing stem. I don't know if I'll add all of those parts to it but definitely want to add a gyro and the pretzel handle bards. So if you ever got a gyro on it please comment and let me know how it fit.
@@dre_withwithout I just got mine yesterday and put it together and rode it around a bunch with my son. I'm 6'2" and it was comfortable for me. My old 20 inch was definitely noticeably smaller. if you are 5'7" it should fit you perfectly. I probably would have my seat post raised higher than yours but if it fits me it'll fit you just fine. I was thinking of going with the 26 inch too. I wanted something a little bigger than my old 20 inch but not too big. To be honest, even at my height, the bike fit me perfectly. I think the 26 would have been too big for what I wanted. I think 26 inches are more like a mountain bike than a bmx trick bike.
@@dre_withwithout I just picked up the 24 and I’m 5 11. It fits me perfectly. I’ve only ridden 24s, but from what I’m told, the 24 will be a little more nimble, and the 26 is better for longer rides and more cruising. Tbh, I thought the 24 was great for long rides, so what do I know. I’m just sticking with the 24s.
That’s a damn fine looking 24, I still ride 20 inch bikes but I don’t do anything bigger than a 24, loses that nimble bmx feel. I ended up getting a dyno voelker 24, but that green haro is one damn fine looking bike 10/10
Brakes in white, pedals white, get those bolt in rear platforms in white, clamp on platforms on forks in white, polished free wheel. Double tube bars in white, seat post white
I did a resto on my classic dirtbike then ended up giving it to a friend’s kid and the mom threw it out during their divorce. I was a little pissed about that one
Beautiful build...ive got the 2016 re- issue and love it....brake levers are the wrong way round for me though...front brake right hand and back left...had an 84 master as a kid and the day i sold it was one of the biggest mistakes ive made....😪
I just gave my 11 year old son my 24" 1995 GT pro series. It's awesome and he loves it! I was surprised to see how much they are selling for! If you can find one...
@Williston Hey what’s up. I Think your restoration looks really good. On my Haro Master DMC 24” I got the white Skyway’s 50th Anniversary with the black alloy hub’s, white Cool Stop brake pads but I really need to get some blue tyres instead of black. I got a blue Viscount Dominator seat. Chrome chain, a Shimano sprocket, blue Odi grips. Along with some chrome Haro Knee saver bars and all the bearings are sealed, also the stem is like your’s but it came with a green two tone look. And the rest is all standard, I will change a couple of things. However I must admit that your bike looks a little better, as you’ve really got the colour and old school look on point.
Sweet bike, I have an old school Dave Mirra Haro that I ride with my kids. I believe it's a 2002. I like the shorty levers. I run them on my BMX and I always cut my dike bike levers down also.
excellent job, just out of curiosity of much time do you have in editing? i have done a few projects thst i wanted to post but thought i didn't have several hours to spend in editing. thanks
Wonder why they chose aluminum rather than cromoly. Sweet bike, I really liked the old-school Haro Freestyler. I'm currently riding a 24" too. It's a 2013 DK Sentry 24.
It's called gunby green. Gumby was a fiction character made from clay. To get the original green color. Gumby green is what you what you want to look for. It was also Denis McCoy's favorite character back then. I own a 1985 version. Course mine is not green anymore. I sprayed it dupont chameleon purple. Dropped the skyway had hp pro peregrine wheels the redline fork lifter came apart so went to a normal stem. Still ride it today

Sick bike fo sho! I’d almost want fully polished freewheel, seat post, brake levers and brakes, but that wouldn’t be as true to the OG bike.
😬👍

Fantastic build. I just bought a 2023 Haro Master 24 DMC and looking to do similar upgrades. Great to see what you did for inspiration

How tall are you? I’m looking on city grounds and confused about which size to get. I’m 5’7

A pair of red donuts would finish her off!! Love the way she came out! Nice work!!
Pretty sweet. I wasn’t surprised when you said it was aluminum after seeing the weight
Cost saving measure
Looky, looky what the cat dragged in. Totally drooling at how awesome that came out.
👌😬👍
Love the history lesson at the start. Thanks for sharing and for this vid!

Had one back in the day similar looking to the master @:53. Had the pegs front and rear with the gyro brake… Pretty trick bike and very light.

Thanks for watching and commenting! I’m 6’4” and even the 24 is a bit small for me. I had fun building this one to match a 1985 Master
Brakes in white, pedals white, get those bolt in rear platforms in white, clamp on platforms on forks in white, polished free wheel. Double tube bars in white, seat post white
😬👍
it's a 10 from me Sir that bike is beautiful man it's perfect I agree with you about changing the pedals but I love it 👌

Still working on my version of this, what I rode a few years ago, my s&m warpig, not quite retro yet but it will be soon
I did a resto on my classic dirtbike then ended up giving it to a friend’s kid and the mom threw it out during their divorce. I was a little pissed about that one
Awesome 👏

Yeah the 80’s and 90’s bikes are crazy high right now
very nice build, you mounted the rear tire backwards....
Oops

It turned out fantastic!
Wilkerson Airlines bikes were also some of my favorites
👍
Beautiful bike !!!!
I have a red Quadrangle 24” with white Skyways
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome job. Beautiful 🤩
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Derek I was gonna say get tech 77 levers , and boom you mentioned them ! 💪💯
👌😬👍

I was this close 🤏to buying this in the 24" version but I went with the GT pro series instead and absolutely Stoked with my bike
I got this one specifically to build it like this. I prefer riding 29”
@@wal2 Cool ! This Haro that you've built, with that chainwheel and the mags ...man ... it looks beautiful 😍💪 ❤ 👌
I liked Robinson racing bmx ...they need to bring those back
Lots of retro bikes resurfacing, but not seen Robinson coming back
excellent job, just out of curiosity of much time do you have in editing? i have done a few projects thst i wanted to post but thought i didn't have several hours to spend in editing. thanks
Editing in this video was minimal, but I spent a lot of time changing camera angles and such during upgrades.
you should flip the break pad spacers to the small one so the rear brake wont stick that much more out
👍

I’m sure it was cost related
Nice job!
I like your seat and the chain ring. Where did you get them from?
Chain ring from Amazon, no longer available unfortunately. I think the seat came off a different Haro I have
Really very very nice.
I think it’s nice bike to have.
Nice Build . How tall are you ? I'm thinking of buying a 24 inch 2023
The 24” is too small for me. I’m 6’4”
Straight up awesome

🔥
Sick bike

Umm, what about the 2018 Haro Masters 26?
Dose the doctor come 9n any other colors I know that the 80s haros came in different colors
The 2021 ones are turquoise and blue, not sure about 2022 yet. For 2020, neon green was the only color available
Dope
Real nice
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Question: I’m 5’7 which size would be best?
They show suggested sizes based on height but I think the 24” would work well. 26 and 29 ride smoother though
U need the giro and knee saver handlebars
Got both but the bike doesn’t have Gyro tabs
Check out Etnies Rad collection for the anniversary
😬👍
👍
🤙
How much was it, $2,000?
Bike was $700 when I purchased it, extras another $400ish. Would take at least $2k to pry it away 😬
Think your back tire is on backwards. Looks like a directional arrow in the video...
👌😊👍
I think they make colored zip ties 😂
🤣🤣🤣
It needs 990 rear brake down under and front brakes , and gyro. Just my own opinion
"The Real McCoy"
👌😬👍
Nothing spells old school like lime green.
Fo sho
Love the vid, but that new Haro paint work looks terrible - the red completely ruins that beautiful green and blue.
All the money you spent on the bike and upgrades you could have bought a genuine 86 Haro🤣
They didn’t make 24” Master back then 🤷♂️
