  • If your lawn isn't quite as level as you'd like, you've got to try topdressing your yard! Applying top dressing is a great way to smooth out any low or uneven spots and get a nice polished look for your grass. Lawn leveling is actually one of the best ways to ensure long term soil & grass health, and the results always look amazing.

    In this video, I'm going to show you just how easy it is to top dress your lawn with the ECO 250. This is important to do during the summertime, when the grass is actively growing.
    Topdressing mix is a combination of sand and compost. The sand fills up all the empty spots; the compost adds organic fertilizer with beneficial microbes and also helps break down all that thatch material -- brown/dead grass.
    Whether applying compost, sand, soil or a custom blend to existing turf, the ECO 250’s superior maneuverability allows you to distribute bulk material in a 180-degree forward arc. The spread can range from 3 feet wide up to 18 feet wide! This machine makes topdressing quick, smooth and effortless.
    HOW MUCH WILL I NEED?
    Wondering how much topdressing you'll need for your lawn? A good rule of thumb is estimating 1 ton for every per 1,000 sq. feet.
    But first things first, we've got to cut our Empire Zoysia grass super short (almost but not quite scalping it) - about an inch and a half tall.
    It's time-consuming, backbreaking work to attempt to topdressing mix by hand. That's why we're excited to announce that the new ECO 250 Spreader machine is now available for rental at Grass Roots Garden Center Graniteville, SC! Ryan, can you use a sand and compost mix on any type of grass to top dress? We have a small suburban lot and the soil is terrible. We live in Iowa and I’m not sure what type of grass we have???

      @grassrootsgardening  Рік тому +2

      Absolutely! You can use it on any turf grass 👍👍

      Please don’t use sand with tall fescue. In IA you probably have fescue, blue or Rye. Compost is great with a long rod to level.

    Why wouldn't you mechanically detach first? Great piece of equipment.
    What is the overall width? (gate constraints)
    Look for a Landzie leveling rake.

      @@Legendary_UA ohhhh de-thatch! Well, the beneficial microbes that we use to inoculate our compost with will break it down and turn it into organic fertilizer for the grass. I learned this from golf course superintendents who use our topdress blend. 👍👍

    I just spent the last 30 minutes clicking the "do not recommend channel" on all the garden videos YT insists I want to see. Think they'll go away? Now I'm not recommending, leaving shitty comments and giving lawn videos a thumbs down.
