  • This tutorial series is all about analyzing different hull types of different major factions in Endless Space 2. The goal is to assess their strengths and weaknesses and compare them with their counterparts that others races can construct. I'll also voice my personal favorite uses of particular ships in this guide, so expect a little bit of bias - but I'll try to keep things as professional as possible!
    Time stamps:
02:37 - Attacker ship; Marchio-class (often called 'Weapon')
    08:46 - Protector; Baro-class ('Tool')
    13:08 - Hunter; Dux-class ('Imposer')
    21:04 - Coordinator; Archidux-class ('Upholder')
    26:08 - Carrier; Imperator-class ('Exactor')
    27:56 - Explorer & colonizer ship

Horatio has the best looking ships imo

matter of taste. I think horatios-ships are the 2nd most ugly ships (lumeris are the worst). I mean they look kinda elegant as long as their weapons are stored. The Dux, in particular. However, once unpacked any elegance goes out the window and you end up with a lean "snake" that got serious cancer in his face.
Not my cup of tea at all. I prefer battleships that look like actual battleships. One of the most beautiful medium hunters is therefore the UE one, in my book.

@@joethesheep4675 for me the ue ships all look kinda samey especially with their angular design but for me the unfallen and nakalim ships look the worst

@@joethesheep4675 as for battleships that look like battleships i think the hissho strike the best balance between war machine and elegance

It's messed up that they had initially intended the Price of Perfection trait to give you the extra 10% HP. Then the people at the forums said that PoP needs extra damage, not extra HP, because HP is near useless compared to extra damage. The devs understood and said they would change the extra 10% HP to extra damage, but I guess they never actually made this change. It's hilarious because during the community streams that Amplitude does, Amplitude was poking fun at their players because the players wanted to know the math behind all the combat. And this Price of Perfection issue is exactly why people want to know. They are absolutely HORRIBLE at teaching their players the mechanics of their games, and this is why their games will never catch on.
Endless Space 2 is just such a cool game with amazing lore, it's just sad it ended up with such bad "parents". Great job on the videos though. Keep it up! Going though all your ES2 videos.

I still think the 10% HP is not tied to the price of perfection trait but actually tied to the hull (e.g. craver ships have 10% less HP without any modifier). If the PoP trait works correctly, they should have 10% additional damage as well as the HP

How do you have the patience to forego any drive power? 2 move points?

So if your playing in Sandbox mode why not show off the Progression of Modules instead of showing off the basic designs ? Still learning this game after 2,000 hours into it, still have trouble w/ experimenting.. what to do in certain circumstances. But from what information i have obtained... these guys are powerhouses in Late Game... It just takes time to get there. Any race can win off an ideal start but it takes adaptability to truly prevail.

How do none of these proposed ship designs have no Warp Engines?

When this video came out, you could add more than 1 ‘fleet movement module’ on hero, medium, and carrier ships. The result meant players would always build ‘tug boats’ to pull their fleets around. This was patched over; now those modules are hero only, and you can only add 1 per hero ship.
Its also worth noting that Sophon, Vodyani, Hissho, and Seeker class heroes all can provide movement buffs. A high leveled hero can make engines almost redundant.
