Havent played for about 4 years, got my son to try it with me, watching all these guides again with him they are still useful and entertaining. Cheers !
I use the Protector of the UE as a troop transport, I mean it even looks like one. I use the Coordinator as my tank and have one or two in a fleet specifically for support. They're great for making an invasion force, and essentially for any such. Have two or three invasions fleet moving side by side, albeit slowly (cuz 2 movement is often inevitable when going for maximum combat efficiency, but I am still a noob). This guide has helped me a lot in realizing the usefulness of a balanced fleet, and how to build my UE ships. Thanks for the amazing video, keep it up.
Regarding ship loadouts, I personally would love to see a video series of that following up this one, and hoping you'll finish this one by the way. As far as the ship loadouts series goes, I think you should stick with the standard/optimal setup(and by optimal I don't necessarily mean strongest if for example talking about cheap expendable ships for example investing too much into them is rather counterproductive) for the ship rather than try to elaborate on every single scenario, as that would be impossible as you rightly said.
Nice video again! :) I disregarded UE for a long time, since I thought they were a rather boring vanilla faction. But their ships sure do pack a punch. They are one of the few factions I love to use missiles on, because your glass cannons can eradicate the enemy before they even get to the second stage. Regarding the settler: I love to use them as a manpower omnibus, since the hull itself is very cheap. Just slap an engine and two manpower modules on it. The titanium sieging module does a fine job as well. This and the strong scout ship allow you to go for early aggression, without researching efficient shielding. Keep it up!
There are two ways of dealing with ship speed: - putting a good engine on each ship so that fleet has a decent speed - building small support ships and filling them to the brim with fleet movement speed. Each ship should give +4 or +5 speed to the fleet. The bad side of this is that this support ships take Command points from the fleet, but the fleet can easily reach 20 or 30 speed per turn. This setup is very good paired with tanking ships in the mid-late game.
@@Nazar_Melnyk what do you mean? There is still the fleet speed module in game. I use a single fleet speed module on a hero assigned to the ship to give the fleet one more movement. Did they just nerf it so that there is no effect if you use more than one?
@@tyfawkes they nerfed it so, that you can't use more than one, and you can put it only on hero ship. What I meant was that you could create a protector that takes only one CP and pack it with fleet accelerators. This way your fleet could roam across the galaxy with 20 or more movement points. Basically, when they nerfed fleet accelerators, they forbid this kind of fast travel to everyone, except Vaulters. And with vaulters, funny enough, your best possible ally is the Pirate League, because you can sign non-agrassion treaty and fly anywhere you want (this Treaty allows you to teleport to pirate systems).
I think your right that ship loadouts have too many variables to be tacked on at the end of these videos, and even as their own videos they would probably be 40+ minute videos. I certainly wouldn't mind videos of that length but I think most people wouldn't watch it all the way through.
I would definitely watch those as well. Although I agree, it is probably a project for another series. There's a lot of variables going into it. Still, it would be interesting to see the thought process going into it and to get some new ideas.
I'm pretty new to the game and I mostly play the united empire, but I can't seem to find out how the fuck you get diffrent sizes of ships and either I've somehow missed it in the technology tree or I've just missed something. If anyone knows plz tell me :/
Usually the combat ships are in the empire/left section of the tech tree. Watch for red symbols since those are usually military. Upgrades to a ship are linked to the original tech used to unlock them so you should see a line connecting them. To unlock bigger ships you need to research their respective techs, they are usually right above the other ship techs in the next tier of the tech tree.
What i don't like about this analyse is that you never said HOW FUCKING SLOW THESE SHIPS ARE. And not just this, but you even compared them without even once using a FUCKING MANDATORY drive module. What the fuck is this. This is not how you use these ships. You need SPEED. In this game SPEED rules. Guess which one of heroes is the best in a game for any fleet? The one that will increase the SPEED of your fleet. Which hero you will take on second UE quest? A fucking useless militarist guardian that can't move his shit and can't support his fleet, or awesome badass scientist seeker which can boost your fleet speed 3 times over? Judging by your analyse.. your choice would be useless guardian. The numbers doesn't matter if you can't actually move your shit around. You won't be able to even protect your own systems with SPEED of 2, let alone to pose any threat to other empires. By the time you will move your 2 SPEED fleet they will create 3 fleets with the same power as the one you just send.
and you didn't show any of them in action. Lazy. You could have asked you subs to join the net battle, they would play the enemy faction an you could ask them to stage spectacular battles around black holes, asteroid fields, neutron stars to showcase the ups and downs of the ships.
This would mean that in order to make a single video I would have to spend significantly more time and it would take forever to finish this series. This is a guide series anyway - playthroughs are a better place to watch explosions ;)

i just loved how mush compassion you about the united empire ship vs the vaulters ship xD
The manpower from food improvement that comes with hunter / coordinator is pretty good, so you are not wasting a full research just for the ship.
I love how the music picked up when you talked about the upgraded carrier

I have a question. Would you recommend putting engines (speed) on ships even tough it uses up a utility slot?

It's a free DLC ;) I think you may have to create an account on www.games2gether.com/ to redeem it though (not sure, it's been a while).
