- Filmed at Alton Towers in the spring of 1980, this was the bands last top 10 hit. A BBC strike took TOTP off the air for several weeks which probably cost the number a few places in the charts. This track was supposed to feature on the unreleased 'Frantic Antics' album which was eventually replaced by the MAG 5037 'Greatest Hits' offering.
2024 still listening this great song.
Thank you for this! FanTAStic. The very talented Bob Fish showing off his amazing vocals 🎵 Love it. 🎵
I loved the Top of The Pops from 1977-1983 but 1980 was the peak yet we lost out over 2 months of TOTP...shocking.
Infectious. Darts on point again
The shot of the band in front of the Pirate Ship is bittersweet in December 2024.
It opened in the Fantasy World section of Alton Towers in 1980 (also the same year the Corkscrew opened). In 1997 the Pirate Ship was moved to Forbidden Valley next to Nemesis and the topspin flat ride Ripsaw, and rethemed as The Blade.
However Alton Towers have now confirmed that The Blade has been retired due to the ride coming to the end of its mechanical life. At 44 years of age, it was the oldest operating ride in the park.
'Let's Hang On' is one of those songs that I just love, whoever is performing it and in whatever way it is arranged, be it the great Frankie Valli, Barry Manilow, or here by the much under-appreciated Darts.
Thank you for uploading this and other Darts tracks and in great quality too.
If you close your eyes you could be listening to the Four Seasons...great stuff!
Great to see this one in high quality at last.
Yes it’s been a long time coming. The last one I uploaded was converted from a roll of EMI film that I came across! This is fantastic quality.
Great remastered video thank you
Another Frankie Valli classic..sounding excellent
Looks like they had great fun on the rollercoaster or was it fear? Thanks for sharing
I thought it reached number 11?
Aha! Just testing. 😳
Frankie Valli is an hard act to follow but Bob didn’t do too bad with it.
