It’s really unfortunate that a fellow Mishima main is the reason us devil Jin mains have to suffer this much, especially since we’ve been trying to master this character for decades. But oh well, that’s what the tekken community has been doing for a while now.
Honestly, it’s hard to believe they don’t have any agenda when seeing certain nerfs. It was the same thing in Tekken 7. After Qudans went back to back to TWT Grand Finals, they nerfed the character to death and it was then nerf after nerf after nerf. Same goes for Kazumi. It’s like they have character they really don’t want to see succeed at the highest level. Devil Jin being one of them. They don’t want you to play him
We need to let bandai know that DVJ needs to get some buffs to be playable in online. This is just ridiculous how much they went out their way to nerf him into the ground
at this point they are just taking the piss because now they have realized how stupid bandai namco is in terms of reacting to feedback. even the tiniest of feedback makes them wanna nerf something to the ground
Even Devil Jin's high moves are lackluster, his jab has no range, his shackle(u+1) is a really bad move where if it misses, it has so many recovery frames that the opponent can run all the screen into DVJ and launch him, and even on block DVJ has to commit into something risk, MC 2 is -13 and any other option he has in MC the opponent can just jab him out of it and get a float or the opponent can side step it, which gives him an even better punish.
@@sand__wich99 No. MC 2 is -13 and MC 2,2 is -14. And I'll say more, MC 2 on hit and on CH is -5! The devs couldnt even give us some plus frames in this move on hit, they really want us to gamble our life in every move. Also, even after ws+1,2 ON HIT the opponent still can side step or jab MC 1, so we're back again into our MC gambling with the odds against us. The character is just broken in the bad meaning of the word.

The fact tekken team are insistent on things having the same properties and utility for no reason really doesn't help. I get signature archetype moves being similar... But a paw isn't really a signature move like electrics, if we go by that then can can on jun/asuka(low, high) should be the same as jins(mid, mid). Give Dvj the dangerous demon paw, make his uf heat engager not heat engage, they already nerfed the heck out of stage stuff and his heat give his gate the damage. Tekken team needs to stop being weird.
Dvj problem is that his strings doesn't have any low attacks. You can basically just stand blocking his strings cause his lows are so weak, so there's no need to be afraid of his lows. Plus if you learn his setups then he's useless. His only low that can go into a string combo is super risky.
This is the Tekken community’s fault. A bunch of Garyu’s complaining left and right about how ‘OP’ Devil Jin is. He was not OP even on Tekken 8’s release.

it was a bit overtuned with the tracking i agree. the range was kind of the whole point of it but like come on they didnt need to nerf his poking and any move that isnt a high

And now learning a wave ws2 and ws3 cancells which are different and have different utility while being super hard to master. All that for a King throwing a low from the other side of the screem that hits 60 dmg on counter.
@@Gabi24492 Being hard isn't the problem, it's the output he gives. Kazuya is just as hard as he has to learn the same things, and his output is amazing now while Devil Jin gets fuck all most of the time. DvJ is a shadow of his former self.
I guess its Devil Jin's turn, normal Jin was busted strong in T3 & T4 so he was nerfed into oblivion in T5. I wish they would actually try more to "balance" a character with a few good moves instead of nerfing them into a useless husk.
The craziest part about Dvj downfall is that he was a menace for most of his Tekken history. If you include T3 and TTT1 Jin, he’s been top tier or at least high tier for 5 games straight and top tier for most of T7 lifespan. PS: I will keep maining him, since there is nobody who comes close to his edgy design and the gameplay greatness he once had. At some point the devs will realize their mistakes in the DVJ treatment.
He got nerfed on every single patch, and got no real buff, just very miniscule bug fixes on either useless moves, or moves that no one uses in the situations of the fixes like the axe kick, so it's kinda like 5 nerfs in a row, lost his hellsweep (on blue ranks and higher no one even cares about ducking cause he has no good lows and even if you get hellsweeped you lose just 45 at best), his smash is useless, and despite the animation it's actually one of the slowest smashes in the game, the ferrari tech is gone despite being quite risky, his demon paw despite being the worst out of all mishimas was still his best mid, or more like his more decent mid, and despite the nerfs it's still the most convenient to use which says a lot, his mc 1 lost the tiny tracking it had in the start and that doesn't help much either, and now he is so repetitive, with all those nerfs, many old combos are either gone or useless damage wise, he already had very few moves in comparison to other characters, and the stuff that still works is so few even if you win, you only win the first match, cause they already figured you out, I've became basically full defense player with dvj, low parrying and rehersal, cause I get literally figured out in just a few rounds, so I gotta go at it slow and hope I win by time up rather than ko's, and even in defensive it's kinda repetitive, only got devil twister, a rehersal and low parry, dvj also for some reason has only one power crush aside his rehersal, a weaker version of jin's d1, and it's not that good either, very slow and unsafe, and with his lackluster lows, if I need to win by one hit, the best low I have is 10 hit combo, literally his best low is a like the 4th hit of a 10hit sample combo, cause his three ring alaya has an s.low so you don't even have to duck to block it, and he lost his three ring circus too in tekken 8. I hope he gets at least his range back on the smash, not because it's good, but because his smash now looks visually embarassing, and maybe getting back his old df2, like why did they give it to jin, and why did he need another move that gets him to morning crow, he literally has already 5 other ways to go into morning crow, no wonder why it's so gimmicky, he has f3 to get into morning crow, ws3 to get into morning crow in combos, the chain that also guarantees a certain mc 2 2 on hit, his smash when blocked and devil lance to make a decent 50/50, his df2 now is worthless it doesn't even get you a certain mc 2 2 unless it's in counterhit, why not leave his old one so he can have an extra way to get into wavedash and get an ewgf or anything else, it wouldn't even be that good since all of his moves in wavedash are slow except ewgf and maybe his down forward 3. Also if they actually wanted to make him more gimmicky, why not leave his old samsara?
harada js rlly dont want the villains to win, im seeing a trend hes doing. imagine a 16 yr who does a grasshopper stance is better than some horned winged devil who literally wiped the whole humanity with js a laser from his character ending. great stuff harada totally 👏👏👏👏👏👏
but dvj isnt a villain, kazuya is.. Dvj is just an untamed child thats why he looks evil and tempts jin but once you review the tk8 story mode, dvj was all along protecting jin what you saw in his character episode, thats what happens if jin didnt tame the devil and gave him the body control
Its really fair that both jin and kazuya's demon paws still have decent pushback. Meanwhile the totally necessary nerf to dj's leaves them point blank 👍
Its more so why would you pick him when the game has jin or kaz. Jin has his former all around-ness while kaz has his former mishima and vortexness, specially when they gave him a 5050. Now with an easy mode high damaging 15f punisher, devil jin is really only picked for the loyalists, otherwise youd rather go jin or kaz

Devil Jin is one of those characters that definitively deserves to be S tier. He is a literal boss character, and his combos look really flashy and cool, in my opinion. And just like Kazuya, he is very difficult to play and always has moves that have high risk, high reward. Devil Jin doesn't really have those capabilities, and that saddens me. Hope he will get the same treatment like Kazuya did in the next patch. Also, the fact that Jin is way stronger than his Devil form makes no sense. 🤦♂️
A cool gimmick, bc thats all he is now, would've been making him shift into MC into CD and vice versa since he already hops with CD+3. Also just give him back old U4 good ole samsara. Give him something. Man's has no mid outside heat.

After the much deserved nerf for UF4 into B4 in Tekken 7, it feels the devs kinda just hated this character. Wasnt performing super well in tournament, but nerfed his UF4 to not knockdown and also nerfed his wall damage at the same time. Keeping up the trend in tekken 8, he gets nerfef without a ton of results. I dont umderstand the amount of nerfs this character gets when his tournament results dont really back it up.
I'm playing only devil Jin currently in Fujin and I don't feel him weak but a little bit frustrating to play because the amount of execution he requires and yes as tmm said you don't get rewarded that much I'd like to see u/f 4 into B4 back because as strong it was in Tekken 7 in Tekken 8 devil Jin lost one of his main vortex setup with the flash punch (1 1 2) push the enemy so far away and currently u don't wanna use uf4 at all because u can be clipped into a combo very easily especially if the opponent activates heat
I think they meant to make this character keep out counter attack character so the only buffs he need is heat smash range crow 22 should be -12 on block and b1+3 more armour and unblockable grab should be used even without heat

MC 2 is only -1 which is the safe option, MC 22 is -13. Yeah his only good high move is electric
@@sand__wich99 No. MC 2 is -13 and MC 2,2 is -14. And I'll say more, MC 2 on hit and on CH is -5! He's D tier and unfair. Get a better character, loser
Strings with low attacks are not even good. That is the least of his problems lol.
This is the Tekken community’s fault. A bunch of Garyu’s complaining left and right about how ‘OP’ Devil Jin is. He was not OP even on Tekken 8’s release.

He was Tekken’s own Akuma historically and the one character you can count on being strong.
He was only good in t5. T6 he was average at best. Ttt2 maybe you could argue he’s top 10. But t7 he was trash throughout, people just didn’t understand the game until much later.

I'm playing only devil Jin currently in Fujin and I don't feel him weak but a little bit frustrating to play because the amount of execution he requires and yes as tmm said you don't get rewarded that much
I'd like to see u/f 4 into B4 back because as strong it was in Tekken 7 in Tekken 8 devil Jin lost one of his main vortex setup with the flash punch (1 1 2) push the enemy so far away and currently u don't wanna use uf4 at all because u can be clipped into a combo very easily especially if the opponent activates heat
This is getting boring now Swe, no cap you had a BIG / HUGE part in nerfing this character. Some of it is your fault and THAT IS THE TRUTH
You said everyone was complaining when you were literally the main complainer
I think they meant to make this character keep out counter attack character so the only buffs he need is heat smash range crow 22 should be -12 on block and b1+3 more armour and unblockable grab should be used even without heat
Now I play him defensively and I’ve found some success, but he is not dominant anymore, he was the predator before, now he’s the prey.
