Thanks Alex! He got the iguana from us. When we found the iguana he was close to death, he had an upper respiratory infection really bad, and was skin and bones. The previous people had to have done nothing with him at all. I have no doubt he would have died had he stayed were he was. Believe it or not he's actually put on weight from were he was at also. I was able to clean up the infection and get him SOMEWHAT used to people. Before he would bite and whip non stop. Its definitely taken some time but I know Alex with his reach with people and amazing commitment to the animals he will be able to work further with him and get him placed in a great home. Thanks again Alex and Ethan. You guys rock!
@Azure Ablepsia you're exactly right! People see them as babies which are highly adorable and because they're so cheap they jump on purchasing one. Well when that little baby grows into a huge dinosaur they can't handle it. They require a lot of care and attention and people act on a whim and end up not caring for them correctly. I would also add that if you do your research and do decide to get one to make sure it is captive bred from a reputable breeder. Wild caught are very difficult to work with and I'm pretty sure this Iggy we rescued shown in the video was a wild caught based on his attitude.
I've never been bit by my tokay, except a few soft nips because I held him wrong. But I do agree with the iguana statement. Mine HATES me lol never been bit though.

I'm glad you warn people about buying morphs, and encourage buying wild-types. There's something really insidious about the morph industry. Selective breeding and inbreeding really does mess up perfectly healthy animals. People are very aware of it in dog breeds, buying a pug these days is a controversial thing to do. But people tend not to talk about the same ethical issues when it comes to reptile morphs. Big channels like Bryan barczyk encourage kids to by the coolest, rarest morphs like they're Pokemon cards and not living breathing creatures. Its horrible P.s. would love to see a video on your thoughts about the ethics of selective breeding
Rom there’s no problem with buying morphs unless there’s actual problems with the animals themselves. Most morphs don’t have any problems. There’s only a few that come to mind like an Enigma Leopard Gecko or a Silkback Bearded dragon, the enigmas have neurological problems and the quality of life of a silkback might not be the best because of how there skin is. But for the most part most morphs don’t have these issues. The breeders who have produced those morphs have come out and said they prefer not to breed them because of said issues with them.
@@Seyekans94 You're partially right, there are no obvious problems with some morphs. But the genome of any animal is so complex that it is hard know exactly what problems are linked to desirable traits that are being bred for. Enigma and Silkback are very visible conditions. But there are so many problems that aren't so visible. For example, how can you tell if your gecko is immunodeficient? The gecko won't tell you. The vet won't run that test. You may never know. Your gecko will just die one day and you will never know why. The region of the genome responsible for detecting pathogens needs diversity in order to fight diseases. Every time we selectively breed a gecko, the offspring will be less diverse. Any number of desirable traits might be linked to/messing up important systems in the body but we don't know which ones. Preserving diversity is important for the health and future of any species. Because problems WILL accumulate through selective breeding whether we are aware or not. Rom yeah that’s true but these breeders know this and strengthen the genes by not over inbreeding.(not saying they haven’t before)They’ll breed for what whatever morph they want then breed in a new bloodline that’s not associated with the morph bloodline. I’m on both sides I see why they shouldn’t and should breed for genetic mutations that create the morphs. All I’m saying is that if the quality of life of the animal is okay then there’s should be no issue. Every single dog is completely inbred but that doesn’t mean we should put down every single one of them or not be allowed to buy or breed them unless of course there’s severe problems with the quality of life with said breed as you mentioned the pug. But even then as long as the person is taking care of the animal I find no issues at because every pet owner should be caring for there animals appropriately.(not always the case I know) but I would assume the majority of people who buy these morphs and the breeders themselves actually care. There’s same bad people in the pet trade like backwater reptiles for example but actual breeders who care like a Ron Tremper they try to take care of there animals. I myself have breed leopard geckos in the past and I try to make sure my bloodlines aren’t associated with each other for the best possible babies.

I still have to mist three times a day though.

Rosie looks a lot like a gaboon! I always thought gaboon snakes were so beautiful...minus their potent venom. So this boa is like having a non-venomous viper!
To any one looking to get an iguana, handle them EVERYDAY. We got ours a little older and was extremely aggressive and the previous owner wouldnt handle him due to his claws. We clipped his nails and handled him every day and now hes super chill. No aggression what so ever. We are actually watching my brother in laws for the same reason. It was aggressive to the point where it was scary to even open his enclosure to feed him and a few months with us and he loves to be held and no longer whips his tail.

For that ferret enclosure, if you want to retain more humidity you can try taping tinfoil to the sides for a cheap option, or getting plastic or glass for a more aesthetic enclosure.
I actually have a red tail boa constrictor shes beautiful at a whopping 7 ft long which doesn't seem like much compared to other snakes but her name is Claudia and she's so beautiful.
I just love watching your channel! You're so young with such a great vision and purpose in life! That is not typical for young people your age. Thank you for what you're doing!
Put some plastic that you would use for windows on the winter in the outside of the iguana cage it’ll help keep the humidity in and will help with that stuck shed..prob why he has stuck shed in the first place.. and a reptile fogger. Glad you have him now.
Flawed Personality thanks I had to do the same for my old iguana cage and it worked amazing for being a relatively cheap fix! To clarify I didn’t mean that he was the reason the iguana as stuck shed I meant the people that had it to begin with prob didn’t give it the correct humidity a lot of people don’t realize how important humidity is to iguanas.
I remember my corn snake I couldn’t look after it so I gave it to a friend who had a meter long corn and he lost mine as it was about 30cm and it vanished into the house walls and still hasn’t been found to this day
I love seeing other tokay geckos. I have a male who is absolutely loveable. He literally just sits and stares at me while I'm doing work on my bed or whatever lol. Seeing others that are super aggressive just kinda snaps me into this weird reality where tokays aren't like cresties I guess? Idk, love your channel! I have quite a few reptiles myself and seeing how you have almost all of mine makes me smile a lot!
That was spectacular movement when your savannah monitor tried to jump. It was like watching a ballerina spinning and grabbing. That was pretty freaking awesome dude
The boa that you said was common is a rose tail boa :) the pattern on the tail and the scales on his face near his mouth ( the mustache and goatee) give him away but most definitely beautiful snakes
Alex seems to be getting comfortable in his skin and his true self ☹️ we liked his awkward unsure, insecure personality it was ADORABLE. I guess they all have to grow up eventually 😢

I just love watching your channel! You're so young with such a great vision and purpose in life! That is not typical for young people your age. Thank you for what you're doing!
15:12 anyone else see the little tiny white bug crawling on the corn snakes head?? Haha the shit I notice! Great video 👍🏼 though.
The agility it he had in catching those run aways amazes me! If only I was so coordinated :o
Your voice is so nice to listen too, you have a very calm presence.
thanks!
My ball refused to eat for over an entire year and looked chunky as ever.
I watch this video almost every night to fall asleep to. At least 60x
The Tokay lizards are so scary..THEY BUTE EVERY TIME YOU EVEN OPEN A DOOR literally tho they’re scary 😂
It's cool to see all of the animals in your room. This is a very cool thing to see change all the time.
Its 2019 and this guy still hasn't gone herping if that isn't a bruh moment idk what is
Edit: oh yeah and good video lol
Oh I love that you have carpet pythons. Had two when I was kid. Great to see you with Aussie snakes. I wanna get a jungle carpet python in the future.
Your should do something like a daily routine or something like that idk I think it would be interesting ❤️❤️❤️love your videos🥰❤️❤️
I came for the Herping and I stayed for, foooor. Why am I still here?
2020 reptile room update

wait a second you don't like arboreal lizards and they're not your thing but your logo and branding is an arboreal lizard :\
Harriet's enclose is amazing! It is so beautiful. Love your videos.
It’s more of a “Showing you all my pets” lol
That was spectacular movement when your savannah monitor tried to jump. It was like watching a ballerina spinning and grabbing. That was pretty freaking awesome dude
My cousin had the same exact cage for his ferret lol
Good video I've been watching you guys from the start keep doing your thing they've helped me a lot with my first corn snake
You know petsmart be great when they say:
Can you take it?
Okay.
"I'm tired of my own voice. And you are too"
Reason why I subscribed.
The boa that you said was common is a rose tail boa :) the pattern on the tail and the scales on his face near his mouth ( the mustache and goatee) give him away but most definitely beautiful snakes
I have a FireBee! I love him so much! His name is Pete and he also doesn’t show any neurological problems either!
I dont want to, stop.
- Alex 2019
He’s got some serious handling skills
do a bio activate leopard gecko setup that sounds dope
I dont get why people unlike your videos. I find them fun and interesting.
thankya
Saw the iguana so I guess he got a new pet
I have a bumblebee bp and he has zero problems. No wobble and he knows when he's upside down and i'm v glad
Alex seems to be getting comfortable in his skin and his true self ☹️ we liked his awkward unsure, insecure personality it was ADORABLE. I guess they all have to grow up eventually 😢
Mair Stunna ah yes, so someone should be unhappy and insecure just so that it’ll be “adorable”. Great mentality.
Shmánh Gge 😶😐😑 say wat!!!!!! 🤦🏾♂️ GOOD DAY MAAM
@@shmanhgge6735 Dude, chill. We all love him
When he was taking about ball pythons and saying how cute they were he was stroking/petting one like a cat 😍
Wait, you were at Repticon in Raleigh on Jan 5th?
I was there (to buy a Colombian Red Tail) and I didn't see you :/
Yep, we were like right in the middle. It was a weird spot and a lot of people couldn't find us lol. Hoping for a better spot next time but we don't get to pick!
@@GoHerping
Hmm, I must've missed you. Probably because I didn't stay there that long, I was only there from 9:15 to about 11:45. Next time I go, I will try to keep an eye out for you!
Great reptile room tour! Amazing reptiles they all look great. You are by far one of my favorite youtubers!
I was unsubbed 😕
Not cool YT, not cool!
aww that poor tokay, what a beautiful geck though, sometimes if an animal doesnt want to be held, you really shouldnt handle them, so it makes me happy that you just kinda got her to chill on that piece of cork
(also that gecko you showed right after!! what a cutie!! i love that little derpy face, what a baby. yall really just have a room full of beautiful little scaly babies)
oof at 10:46 the little toad in the background, what a grumpus
Alex, can you host meme review?
Loveley shots of the reptiles! I want a room like that in the future 🐢🐍🐸🐊
