“I’ll have to get creative”. 🤣 You’re already one of the most creative furniture upcyclers on UA-cam! These turned out so beautifully - they would work together or separately.
I just started following your channel a couple of months ago. You do a fantastic job turning "trash" into "treasure." What I appreciate most is the presentation: no music, just the natural sounds around you, like the kids playing on the playground, or the wind blowing, or the brush moving across the wood. I've been doing a little of restoration work myself but, based on what I've seen you do, I can clearly do better. Keep up the great work!
@jefferymoon1974 I’m actually so jealous of you right now. 😂 I binge watched all his videos when I found his channel a good while back, and now I have to wait in between each time he posts one. Torture. 😆
To my surprise I love the quirkiness of the differences. The fronts make it clear they are a set but just like the couple in my mind that will use them, they are also uniquely themselves!
I didn't realize how beautiful those drawers/door were. They were so dirty. I'm sure you saved the little drawers on the middle. You'll think of something. I'm also glad you reused the hardware. The design is fantastic. I agree with others, a shelf on the bottom one would have been nice. I would have "balanced" both pieces. Still, they turned out so fantastic, I would buy them in a heartbeat. Again, nicely done!!! You are a true artist!! 🤩🤩🤩
Both of these nightstands have a unique, independent character. And they look great together. Amazing job! And I like the split screen that you did for the ad. Thanks for another wonderful video.
Maybe a silly compliment but when you post a video I wait until I can stop all the things I am doing so I can truly focus on your work. Incredible build and your ingenuity always amazes me.
I really like the interest of having slightly mismatched bedside tables and you've certainly made a fabulous job with these two. That was a very odd looking vanity but now it's regained its dignity again as two beautiful nightstands.
I was not sure from the beginning how this would turn out. I kept thinking--has he made a mistake? No. The end was pure perfection. I would love to own those pieces and they would be treasured forever. Fantastic work. Those handles and the inlay were SO worth preserving. Bravo!
Unbelievable! You have a very good eye for design and proportions. The right surfaces and smooth transitions. It's really a pleasure to be part of this creative process every time!
I learned how to refinish my bedside dresser from watching your channel and now every time I see how shiny and beautiful it is now I’m happy 😊 thanks for the videos!!
BRAV-OOOOO!!! These pieces are chef's kiss, first place, gold star, gold medal! I cannot believe how gorgeous they turned out! But i shouldn't be surprised. You are a Master creator! What i also liked is the split screen of your sponsor nd you continuing ur exquisite work! Thank you for doing that. I actually found myself ping ponging between the two screens, lol.
I absolutely love the eccentric pieces you create with the furniture you find. You have such a keen eye on what you want to create, then it becomes a masterpiece. Watching the work take shape as you progress is really exciting to see. Beautiful, amazing work. Cheers! 😊🎉
This is amazing. You let the doors come to their right. Those are such beautiful doors and the way you stained them kept and brought out their beauty. Your passion for your work is clearly seen in the outcome of your product.
You are an artist in every way, from the video filming and editing to the newly birthed furniture masterpieces, transformed and salvaged from the pit of death...such exceptional mastery over your mediums. Watching you is pure joy! ❤
Awesome! Reuse of a gorgeous art deco piece. So many of these wind up in the trash. Kudos for hoarding, good parts and wood from old furniture. Anything you can keep out of the landfill is good!❤
I LOVE your transformation! Whether as bedside tables or family room/living room end tables. I love that they're NOT identical, but match. When pieces are identical, it's boring. These are interesting and beautiful.
You are truly SO amazing and inspiring! I have always LOVED this period's lines and complicated inlaid patterns and designs. I abhored the "paint milk paint over the whole thing" DIYers reclamations. Its like painting over a mosaic 🫣 10yrs ago, Waterfall was not in vogue, so furnishing my home on a very thin shoestring allowed these pieces to be collected bc no one else saw their beauty, either as-is or refurbished. So- almost all my BR furniture is Art Deco, most needing a bit of help to reclaim their stunning former glory. This was always intended, but I think the reason that this period's furnishings were left for dead is bc all that veneer is *intimidating* and there's almost always water damage. Watching these videos prepares me to be ready to reclaim my pieces' back to full glory with the tools and products now available. And it gets me very excited about it, instead of feeling total overwhelm. I'm currently in the process of painting my living/dining/kitchen rooms and recovering a LOT of furniture... so BRs are a bit away on the "going-to-get-to" list. I deeply appreciate your camera work, angles and pace of restoring pieces. There's such a calm gentleness to your videos as well. THANK YOU for your vision, skill, and earnest love of craft. 🙏
Absolutely stunning transformation. But that sums up just about everything you do, Andy. You have the Midas touch with unloved, unwanted, broken down furniture. Much respect, as always, from me the UK (3.50am and I can't sleep - life of an insomniac) xx
I always appreciate your keen eye for creating something unique from furniture that would likely end up in a burn pile. Your videos truly are a delight to watch.
I would have encouraged incorporating the small drawers from the discarded middle section into the tophat that you made for the shorter right side module you removed. This would have retained more of the original features from the piece as well as raising the height to match the new height of the left side module. Art Deco pieces can be quirky in appearance but sometimes remarkably valuable. It would be interesting to see what a professional appraisal would say about the before and after on your project.
I'm guessing that adding one of the drawers to the top of the shorter piece would have made it too short, and adding both would have made it too tall. I have no doubt that he had a reason for not using those drawers.
I agree, i thought he would incorporate the two little drawers, but they would not have matched the height if he placed them atop. Overall they are gorgeous!!!
Every time I watch one of your videos (I watch them all), there’s a point where I am not sure about the direction, and EVERY single time you turn it into something so good I couldn’t visualise in my head. Absolutely brilliant mate keep it up! 🙌🏽❤️🙌🏽
You do such a great job taking something, like a vanity, that nobody really wants anymore and turning it into something beautiful that keeps it out of the landfill. I think that's amazing! One suggestion I had. I don't know if you've ever heard of a product called Bar Keeper's Friend, but I find that it works much better than Brasso, it's not toxic, can be used on a wide variety of things, and it's a lot cheaper too!
Your video's are worth the wait for me. No useless talking, just beautiful craftsmanship, btw the ad was perfectly done with the split screen. Love your work ❤
Pure art, pure genius and pure wood! Here in Italy, wooden furniture is hard to find and costs a lot and is almost never thrown away or sold at a discount... But I have started my first "spartan" crafts! Thank you very much forever!
So UNIQUE and BEAUTIFUL! Amazing veneer and handles! Brilliant idea to make them the same high. Your added shelf adds so much character to the piece. The end result, after staining, is awesome. Thanks so much for sharing
Another great rescue! I liked that you kept the Art Deco character of both of the finished night stands. They retained their elegant period look while becoming completely different end result. Great job, always look forward to any project you put out!
Love the art deco pattern on these, and I’m glad you modified them to be the same height. Beautiful coordinating set now. My immediate next thought behind nightstands would be small bar and side table both in a study or den. Great job! 👍
Such a beautiful rescue - I love watching you sort out these wrecks & outdated pieces & turn them into something completely new & desirable -- great craftsmanship & ideas
Again I say, you are a master craftsman! It amazes me to see what you create. That piece would have ended up in the landfill and you saved it. Beautiful!
Brilliantly executed👌🏼One would never say the new extention part was never part of the night stand. It looks like it belongs there. Great job. Love it, love it, love it❤
Not sure I would use them as end tables, which are usually identical. But no reason they could not be in the same room as occasional tables or display for artwork. Similar enough to fit the room decor, but different enough to be interesting. Great project. Fun to watch your creative process.
Wow. That’s incredible how your mind works. Dang. What was kind of an outdated and rather ugly piece of furniture was made into a very handsome set. I love your videoing and editing. Very clever. I’m glad you reused the handles. They match the drawers perfect. Loved this 🇺🇸👍🏼❤️
This project came out so well, and the bedside cabinets are beautiful. I love watching you work and hearing the swish of your jacket and the tapping and sawing sounds 🤭 so it’s really nice to see you again.
These came out absolutely stunning. You kept the art deco and added the modern. Brilliant idea for making them the same height! I love watching your videos!
Love the way you use stain to bring out the woodgrain in the new elements. REally complements the original pattern on the drawers and the door. I know there has been a lot of discussion about keeping it as the original art deco vanity, vs upcycling. As far as I am concerned, if a makeover means one less piece of hardwood furniture going into the skip and landfill, go for it. Well done.
when you used the stain, it really brought that wood to life! i love the final pieces have an almost quilt-like vibe to them, with the mix and match kind of wood here with the different grains and directions. lovely video as always, very relaxing ♥ also love the comeback at 6:57 of the nail jar with the little bow xD
It is a wonderful piece. I am admittedly stunned and wasn't sure initially where you were going. Glad I stuck around, because this is some serious craft work and some of the best looking nightstands I've ever seen! Thanks for the video!
Impressive! It's like you re-arranged the original piece and made two very original new pieces with the same vibe, just be thinking creatively. I love it.
These turned out great! Another idea would have been to add a shelf under the bedside table that has a cupboard to mirror the shelf you added to the bedside table with the drawers.
Wow... didn't think I would like taking an antique and making that much of a transition, but I was mistaken, it was brilliant... First time to see your channel and knew immediately that I wanted to subscribe. Been looking for someone to learn from that is as talented as you are. Thanks for sharing your craftsmanship. Loved it.
With the quality of work you do, you must get an immense feeling of satisfaction with the finished product. Which is odd really because I get that same feeling of satisfaction when you finish and it's your product ha ha ! That defines how engaging it is to watch your videos. You have a great imagination...bravo my man and keep ém rolling 😀
You never cease to impress...love the corner legs and creative shelf addition you added for height. Worth watching for learning about dowel pins (who knew?) and mixing tung oil with stain (who knew?). Bravo for providing viewers with beautifully filmed and edited videos that showcase your talents and creations.
I just spent an quite a while watching previous makeovers. I thought I would be bored. But I wasn't. They were as great as the first time I saw them. What a pleasant surprise to see this one! Andy, you are simply the best! You have it all - imagination, creativity, top notch skill, and patience. To watch your videos is to enjoy the making of art..
No, not Bow Jar! - cries - You should put her next to Mustache Jar. . . I love how you solved the issue of the night stands being two different heights! Very clever!
This was a very creative solution to the different cabinets! I love that they coordinate without being identical. Were I in the market for nightstands and came across these... I'd buy them in a heartbeat. Great work, as always. 💜
Wow, that thing was really in rough shape. AT FIRST. But once again, you made masterpieces out of a mishmash. And that hardware is gorgeous! Well done! 👍😍
I love your work! Really appreciate the finish tips. I have mission style vanity that I hate to disassemble, but you have inspired me to dream up a beautiful design that will suit today's living. I love how you made the legs, back & sides out of salvaged quality wood.

right it's so soothing rather than hearing music
The best thing I could say is your modifications looked like they should always have been there..Stunning and Beautiful!!!😊

I agree with you. Those art decco patterns are beautiful. The "treatment" he used brought them back to life. 🤗

What Magic Visions You have dancing in your head🧚♂️ I LOVE Watching you‼️
Genuinely impressed that you were able to integrate that much red oak and maintain the sophisticated look. Great choice of stain color.
The leg design was such a good idea and I look forward to seeing what you’ll do with the middle piece with the two little drawers as well 😊
This is amazing. You let the doors come to their right. Those are such beautiful doors and the way you stained them kept and brought out their beauty.

The design vision, video editing, and carpentry skill you have all come together to result in some of the most entertaining videos on UA-cam.

The original quality was terrible. Don’t you recall them ripping like paper? He rebuilt it with oak and kept veneer for drawer/door fronts
Удивительно красивая мебель получилась!!! У Вас золотые руки и хороший вкус. Вы прекрасный мастер! Браво!!!❤
I think this is one of my favorites of yours. I absolutely love that the pieces don't match but coordinate so well together.

You put a new facade over the shell and gave it a modern look. I've never seen anybody do that! Really Nice!
Third time watching this video, and I still think this is the BEST furniture makeover I have ever seen online!!

I would die for these side tables😍What an outstanding craftsmanship
These two turned out absolutely stunning. I’d fill my house with your furniture mate!
So creative! I love that they are each so different, yet have a similar front. Your stuff is always so unique and you do a beautiful job!
What a great way to have my morning coffee! Love your work!
YAY!!! I've been missing your videos. I was worried you stopped LOL My grandparents used to have a dresser like that. It had a huge round mirror.
My grandma did too 😊

What a delightful duo these turned into! They're super charming.
What perfection! They turned out beautifully and the handles were restored to brand new condition. You are the Wizard of Wood!
These are STUNNING, as always. You're an incredibly talented person.
I really love what you do with old stuff. Keep up the good work.

All of your creations are exceptional. You have some of the best videography out there and I always look forward to your next makeover!
No, not Bow Jar! - cries - You should put her next to Mustache Jar. . .
I love how you solved the issue of the night stands being two different heights! Very clever!
Truly unrecognisable from the original and both tables are equally beautiful. Love your thinking outside the box.
Thank you so much for sharing your skills and talents with others. It is the most generous act to teach. Your videos and projects are so impressive.
I'm actually floored! the end result is so stunning, you always do such incredible work and this is just another level xx
You're a true artist and can think outside the box for sure! Brilliant and beautiful work!
Your work is imaginative, creative, beautiful and meticulous. You are a master!
You absolutely amaze me. I would not have thought of the way you fixed those. They turned out beautiful.
As always, your work is amazing. Always original, always unique! Thanks for sharing your skills and talents with us.
The split screen ad was super smart great job 👏
Yes, normally I skip ads. You got my attention by continuing to work
@@ellenfoster9764 yes exactly 👍
The character was kept on two usable pieces of furniture. Beautiful.
Wow, your vision is incredible! Excellent job!
This was a very creative solution to the different cabinets! I love that they coordinate without being identical. Were I in the market for nightstands and came across these... I'd buy them in a heartbeat. Great work, as always. 💜
I love the 2 different looks but cohesive nightstands 🫡
Honestly, it should be illegal for someone to be this creative, talented, witty and cute. Straight to jail.
😄
Wow, that thing was really in rough shape. AT FIRST. But once again, you made masterpieces out of a mishmash. And that hardware is gorgeous! Well done! 👍😍
Each piece is beautiful in its own way but together they make a pair of matching nightstands 👌😁❤️🇬🇧
Your artistry never fails to amaze me ❤
The metamorphosis from a ugly duckling to two proud swans. They are very beautiful!
I think you’ve really made these two pieces work well together considering the height difference in the beginning 🙌🏼
I love your work! Really appreciate the finish tips. I have mission style vanity that I hate to disassemble, but you have inspired me to dream up a beautiful design that will suit today's living. I love how you made the legs, back & sides out of salvaged quality wood.
They're both unique and beautiful. I love the details on the drawers and door.
