No joke I frickin love milanote. I found it when I was trying to find software that was easy to use for game development. You can add tons of types of media to it they give you I think 300 posts? For free. If you only use that much then swell but if you find you need more then you already know the program is useful.
The fact is that this piece of furniture was trash, beyond repair to most. The many hours you put in to this broken cabinet was a huge project. Thank you for taking this project on to an amazing level. Great video!
I cackled out loud when the Skrillex wasn't Skrillex.🤣 You're so imaginative and talented. I love your channel because it's apparent how much you love what you do by the time and dedication you put into everything. I've seen other restoration videos where things are rushed through and done half-assed, as if they just want to be done with it. But not you. You're a perfectionist and I am too, so I really appreciate that about you. It turned out gorgeous, as always. ✌🏻
The dark stained legs blended out to the rest of the piece is something I've never seen done before, not only was it a great way to cover those repairs but it looks absolutely beautiful!
There's so much to appreciate about repurposing a repurposed piece. Yet another life it'll go on to lead! I just love your videos - they're interesting, relaxing, and full of sparks of personality.
The ombre legs were an inspiration! I love it when a flaw leads to a stunning design choice you wouldn't have made, but for the flaw. Beautiful work, as ever.
🤯 I don't know what blows me away the most... your woodworking skills, creativity or videography/editing, but man you're so good. When your vlog drops, I'm here. Thank you for sharing with us. 🙏 Pat/Yukon
As soon I noticed the broken leg, I wondered how in the world you were going to fix it... All I can say is that I am simply mesmerized. The legs deserve their own video. 😄 Not in a million years I would have repaired them to perfection. Not to mention the blending technique took the restoration to the next level. Absolutely beautiful. Nicely done, it was a pleasure to watch. 🤩
Andy, of all the projects I have watched you do, this one takes the cake for the complete restoration and elevation of a piece of furniture that seemed destined for a fire pit. It certainly was your greatest challenge yet! We knew that you were up to it!! Of course we did! But wow, no one could have predicted that you would meet the challenge and then smash it like this! You're the best!
What a fantastic tribute to a grand old lady. Now she brings joy once more. Was really surprised to see the water stain adhere after the Tung oil treatment. Great work all ‘round. 👏🏼🌟
As a professional musician, my grandmothers used to have Victrola's in their homes...this almost made me cry. I love these old record players SO much!! Absolutly incredible, your craftmanship, creativity and patience is so appreciated Thank you for saving this!
So glad you were able to save this cabinet. I love the cabrio legs. Please think about using dowels to strengthen the leg break instead of screws in future projects. The joint will last longer with wood and can expand and contract with moisture content. Thanks for your consideration. You're the professional and do a great job.
First of all, I shouted at the smirking dog. This channel is equal parts a restoration channel, a relaxing aesthetic channel, and a comedy channel alsdkfjsk. Second of all, dude, this was INSANE. Truly has to be some of your best work on the channel so far. And that's saying something because I swear you're some sort of wood whisperer or something.
The one thing I truly love about watching these types of videos is seeing the treasures that are out there and with all the work you do to find the best way to return it to good use. In this one not only restoring the leg with missing pieces but also restoring the doors to their original design among the things you accomplished. Then to also have the original name in basically perfect condition. Love, love, love the results. Thanks again for an amazing video.
It's a super rewarding feeling to look at the final product thinking "I did that", so I'm glad there's people like you who enjoy watching so I can continue to do it :)
@@ModernMakeovers I love the imagination you have to see what something can be. That while it's good to restore the great things about a piece, it's also fun to make changes that make it even more beautiful. The furniture available today is boring, usually made of horribly inferior materials and is ready to throw away in the trash in a few years. That's why the work you do is so important. It's beautiful, made to last for along time and very useful. I can't remember your name if you've ever given it. But thanks. I just wish I could buy some of your pieces. But I live in Mexico and the shipping is ridiculous. Thanks
An absolute beautiful restoration of this beautiful cabinet most likely from the early 20th century. I am glad you still have it being a record player and storage cabinet for albums.
Beautiful job! My uncle worked and retired from RCA in Camden, NJ years ago. I believe the original stained glass image of Nipper- "His Masters Voice" is in the Smithsonian. They turn the building into condos, and replaced the stained glass with a full size replica in acrylic. Thank you for sharing your hard work...
Watching a master craftsman turn firewood into a work of art restores a sense of civility and humanity. As the world descends back into beasts fighting over a carcass, your work reminds us of how much better we can be. Another phenomenal transformation, and lesson on how to repurpose everything. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Blown away once again! Almost everyone would walk right by that piece and feel bad that it was wreaked, but not you! Thank you for taking such care when restoring your pieces. Your talent and creativity are so inspiring! I'm especially grateful that I get to watch your videos.
Thank you for this restoration to be close to the original. When I saw that Victrola stamp/decal thing, I was hopeful you would keep it - and you did! That is an awesome prize of a cabinet, and now it has a record player in again. I'm sure it is happy now. ;)
Once again you taught me something new: using tape to block off where you don't want it to go. Also, using dowels or skewers to fill in too-large or wonky holes and the little paintbrush dipped in paint to touch up newly-placed screws.....so simple, and more ways you work smarter, not harder. I would love to find a cabinet such as this. Thank you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I just re-purposed a nightstand for my daughter to use for her record player. I fixed some minor damage and then gave it paint and poly. Obviously, you did far more and it looks fantastic! It reminds me of the Victrola record player cabinet my grandparents had in their family room when I was a kid. I'm glad to see that you kept that classic logo on the underside of the top. Well done as always!
Greatest challenge, but I think your most impressive piece. Blending the dark legs into the lighter body works SO much better than I think the stark contrast between them would have. Very glad you kept so much original, especially the inner lid. And what great luck that it's still holding a Victrola player!
When you first hit the legs with that dark dark stain and said you were going to fade it into the natural finish, I was skeptical. But I should not have doubted, it looks absolutely beautiful! Your projects land somewhere that a ton of furniture restorations/"upcycles"/flips don't - you repair them in a way that keeps the original beauty and character while also adding your own artistry. I absolutely love it.
Thank you for rescuing this old phonograph. To restore it back to it's original use, well almost, is a wonderful thing. I prefer the pieces where you are just staining the furniture, instead of spray lacquering them. The stains bring out the character of the wood. Well done!
One of the reasons I like to watch your videos is to get inspired to make/create with care and deliberation, the way that you work. I don't do carpentry or woodworking but the importance of "slowing down" and making with thoughtfulness is important to me. Thank you!!

You always make me smile when I see the reveal! (I am cheering and applauding while you work, but not too loudly. I live with people who might think I'm strange, ya know?) Lovely, Lovely work.
Very impressive and I mean your filming as well. Very creative. The James Bond clip made me laugh out loud. What you do well goes beyond beautiful furniture restoration.
Incredible craftsmanship ... I'm about to attempt my first restoration of a small Victorian side table, your video has definitely given me extra motivation... Thank you Sir from 🇬🇧🤝
