- I present to you, Tissaia de Vries' hairstyle tutorial from the Netflix Witcher series, featuring three braided buns, with variations of her updo from throughout the whole season.
The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski is my all-time favourite fantasy book series, so I was beyond excited to finally see a promising adaptation!
I was really happy about some amazing details they chose to include and a little bummed about excluding others, but oh well, that’s just what adaptations are always like. Alas, my most favourite scene didn’t make the cut either, but I’m still very happy about the outcome.
When it comes to Tissaia, I'm truly content with how they went about adapting her personality and looks from the books. I was also overall happiest with her hairstyles too, enjoying the way her updos evolved from the beginning of the season towards the end.

I was already loving the video, and then your little bits of sorcery absolutely made it. And yes, they certainly have changed quite a few of the characters, but I agree that Henry Cavill's work is absolutely nothing to sneeze at.
Is it weird that my favorite part of this video is the singing at the end? The styles are gorgeous, and the tutorial is clear as can be, but my hair is chin length. I would need extensions to do the hair styles, but I can enjoy the music now. 😊

Loved these styles! Also, I always find everyone with knee length hair seems to have so much more hair than me! I feel like my thickness was one of your ponytail braids, but surely that can't be true. I aways think my hair is soo thin, but it really isn't that bad. Ugh. I mean, a 6 inch hair stick gets pretty fully covered with any bun, so I can't have thin hair, right? 🤔

I wouldn’t worry about the thickness. My hair is actually naturally wavy/curly, but the length weighs it down. A lot of the volume comes from the texture of my hairs, and not necessarily from their number. Plus, when you have long hair, you can cheat your way into more volume by using length 😁
@@PrettyShepherd oh yes, definitely the length adds extra fullness! I know my ponytail circumference, at last measure, was just a bit under 4", so I know in my head I have "enough thickness"...it just never seems thick enough compared to others. Also doesn't help that my husband's hair is about twice the thickness of mine and so is our daughter's. Ugh.
rionashairblog.blogspot.com has blog tutorials on fine but thick hair. This type of hair is, as she calls it, compressible. In the forums.longhaircommunity.com we call it Houdini hair because "where's my thickness?" Sometimes it feels thick, some other times it feels thin.

The styles are lovely and I think I will be trying the second version soon ... but it would be easier if you spent more time with your back to the camera. Anytime your hands are behind your head might be a good rule of thumb? And I keep slowing the actual building part back down (not the braiding, we know how to do that), which gives me a worse picture than if at least part of the "puting it all togather" were just normal speed.

I’ve read the books and I am also currently playing the game, and I do not like Triss in the series. She is way more childish in the games. And I adore Yen in games but I also like Yen in series (just not as much). Thank you for hairstyle ideas but unfortunately I have quite thin hair 😩 and I am afraid it won’t look so rich as it looks on you 😊

New to your chanel.. Going through your hair style/braid videos. Wondering if you have any suggestions for up-do's that hide ears. Decorations? Quite the challenge as my ears stick right out from the sides of my head like a monkey instead of laying flat. Post partum hairloss does not help matters. Thanks for your content!

Anna Hibbert in the series, Tissaia’s buns are much smaller than mine, so I think it’s just my versions that are a little bulky 😅 I’m sure it can look almost filigree with softer hair ☺️
