@@PrettyShepherd How are your arms doing? Fingers not cramping up from all the twiddly braids? We gotta keep you fighting fit, for you to keep going with your wonderful videos every week!
I found Anna’s channel today and can’t stop watching her. I love how she’s so positive. I haven’t decided if I have hair envy or not. Ok I do. I do have hair envy. ♥️😍♥️
"Someone doing hair on UA-cam", me: Uh no. "It is Anna, the Pretty Shepherd" Me: Oh heck yes! Be right there! Such good attitude, good humor, full of life and energy, a joy to watch
I haven't watched Bridgerton. I didn't know what to expect. When she said she will braid her hair into the basket I had to pause the video. This girl made a basket from her own hair. isn't it some kind of superpower?😁
I don't have long hair and I have not watched the series, but I love your flower-filled-braided-basket! Even more, I appreciate your celebration of life. 🌷
Wow, taking hours to do your hair. Surely ladies back then had maids to do it for them. You are immensely skilled to do it by yourself, Anna. I envisioned putting Easter eggs in your hair basket, lol. Mr. M is adorable. He photo-bombed your video taking care of some personal hygiene. Hahahaha!
Haha! Yes! I was sure that cat owners would recognise the dainty foot in the air position 😹 as for the eggs... I actually think it could be done with some of those lightweight decorative eggs meant for crafting! 🐰💖
More is more!!😍 the “flower basket” is my favorite part of this beautiful creation! If you’re accepting requests, I’d love to see a video on your collection of hair decorations and accessories! Maybe even little stories of how you acquired them?
Oh wow! So much work, but the part with the seven strand braid is SO COOL. Love the basket idea, and the fringe on your forehead is just lovely. Incorporating that into other things would be creative and so stunning. 💙👍
I love it! I will watch intricate hairstyle videos forever, even if I'm never going to be able to do it for lack of hair thickness. You pulled this off very nicely and it looks amazing on you - ready to go dancing! :D
I love your videos and your style! It’s so great to learn more about folklore, there is not much Information on youtube. And the hairstylist is stunning! So intricate, creative but still glamorous. Cant take eyes off of it😍
You are so talented demystifying hairstyles !! I loved it!! This particular one has got my attention watching the series, spot on! Very delighted to make your acquaintance Mr. M! 🐈⬛😆
anna, your hair is magic!! i too love the seven-strand braid made up of three-strand braids. I'd have to fabricate something out of beads if i were to try this wacky, glorious, over the top hairdo!
I think the series feels like “a breather”. I’ve watched some other more researched period series, like Outlander, and now more recently A Discovery of Witches (which I think you would love if you’ve not watched yet btw) and they’re so high stakes with plots and murders and politics, that even my ignorant self would’ve shuddered if they tried to pull off what they did with the customing in Birdgerton. But this show is light, like the books (btw, I also love that kind of literature, don’t let anyone shame you for it) it feels right for the whole setting to feel mildly... Alice in Wonderland-y almost in its brightness. Don’t take me wrong, I’m no expert in this subject, I wouldn’t dare to say to people that this is how they should feel and if a historian is horrified by the costumes I’m the last person who’d go “well maybe you shouldn’t” to them. To put it into perspective: I’m a doctor, and I’m the first to lose my marbles watching a medical drama... when it tries to be serious. It takes a certain kind of setting for me to not go “THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS!” Not because they’re getting it right, but because I accept that the hospital is a vehicle for me to get to know and love the characters. If you try to shove super serious medical setting and also get me super invested into the personal lives of the characters I’m going to log off; which is why I suspect I can’t watch any drama made in the early 2000. But if I get some campy/outrageous medical stuff and then a parade of sweetheart characters my brain recognises this is about people, not medicine, and I relax and enjoy. Bridgerton is the same, do I care how many feathers someone is wearing in their hair (or if they should even be be wearing them)? No. Do I love Lady Danbury and want to be her when I grow up? Absolutely! ETA: I’ve made so many spellings trying to write “Bridgerton” I give up. Just ignore them
I love the final hairstyle with the yellow dress! Though I don’t think I currently have the patience to replicate this style. On a side note, how long is your hair now in terms of measurement or where it comes down to?
“Why’s she got a stupid basket on her head?” Was the most common question in my household every time Miss Cowper appeared on screen. I admire the work though! Haha
Im loving this i was amazed how you did this style yourself im a hairdresser to trade and I dont wasnh my hair onky once a week ive been stretching it out during lockdown oh and yeah I used to wash and blow dry my hair everyday but it drying on the hair tbh I nener used to feel clean unless I washed my hair but im trying to go longer without washing your hair does definitely adjust anyhoo im goingvto watch more of your videos thanks for sharing with us im Tracy im from Glasgow Scotland
Absolutely gorgeous! This is so cool love that 7 part braid it’s so cool! Of course I would have to do it with a wig or extensions maybe switch etc. super over the top super fun and silly and yeah isn’t that the point?
I thought the weakest aspects of Bridgerton came in when they tried to explain the differences with real history--that broke my immersion much more than glitter or eyeliner or hairstyles or whatever possibly could have.
How do u stop ur hair breaking? Mines midback, wavy so it passes, but so terribly thin n rough to touch Iv only recently started using coconut oil once a week n i have a huge tub of hair mask on the way. Just learnt about hair mayonaise which should help rehydrate my neglected hair Whats ur routine of haircare?
I cannot believe this was achieved only by different braiding techniques! I absolutely love how weird and beautiful it is. Tip: I couldn´t seen some parts of the tutorial really well, the top of your head sometimes wasn´t in the frame and I was not able to see what you were doing. Maybe Im only nitpicking on nonsense, but could you try to shoot videos like this from slightly higher angle? If you´re not able to do this, Im sorry. P.S. You speaking Hungarian to Mr. M is everything. ♥
Thank you! I'm glad you like it! And thanks for the feedback as well! I'll definitely keep that in mind for the future. I've noticed how some bits were cut off during the editing process as well, but there wasn't much I could do at that point anymore. It's a lesson for the next one I film :)
How gorgeous, Anna! P.s - can you please share the lip products that you are wearing? I would love to know more about the beauty products that you use/love. Thank you! ❤️
I'll make a note to look it up - though it's most likely an older colour from a drugstore brand. I've bought so many lipsticks in my early teens, that I haven't really bought any in the past 5 years or so 😅
it is not a Bridgerton hairstyle but I would absolutely love to see empress Elizabeth's (Sisi) famous hairstyle from the diamond stars painting. Sisi and that hairstyle, in particular, is the reason why I want to have long hair. And since your hair length is pretty similar to hers I'd love to see you try it.
I took some inspiration from a pattern in "Regency Women's Dress - Techniques and patterns - 1800-1830" It's not an exact copy of a dress, but you could find the pattern for the petals in there, though basically, it's just a quarter of a circle, each 😉
that f^$mcking loose strand of hair dbdkjc I already have really fine and slippery hair that is ever so slightly too short for the styles I'm aiming for and after two hours of carefully pining my hair in place I will inevitably have 1 stupid strand of hair that doesn't belong anywhere ! **not exclusif to updo, also happens with really intricate wet set patterns** edit: i thought i was the only one who wanted to cut that piece of hair, glad i don't have hair scisors everywhere in my house
Was the show historically accurate, of course not, but they never claimed it was. It was fun, I agree with our wonderful PrettyShepard it feels more like people into but not completely focused on being 100% historically accurate having some fun. I have had people complain that my dress was mostly accurate, however I was wearing modern panties and even admitted to using a sewing machine, and those kind of people will never be happy.
wow, that’s absolutely insane! 😱❤️
Thank you! It was... insanely time consuming 🤣
I was hoping our meme mom would show up for this ❤️

The tiny braids made into a larger braid tooks so cool!
I am DEEPLY impressed. That is some commitment to braiding right there!
Haha, no biggie... just 2 hours or so 😂

I'm also really stoked to see something like this on your hair! ❤️
This is INCREDIBLE. Your arms must be aching after hours of braiding. Big props!
Haha! Not really, actually 😅 I guess my muscles are pretty used to this kind of workout by now 😂💪🏻
Watch as the Pretty Shepard becomes a Queen. How delightful! Your hair would make Rapunzel weep for jealously! I love it!

Haha! I'm very happy to entertain - everyone can live their long hair dreams vicariously through me 😁
I love the defined texture of the 7 strand braid! It is breath taking!
And here I am, getting excited when I put bobby pin the way it doesn't fell out of my hair
I haven't watched Bridgerton. I didn't know what to expect. When she said she will braid her hair into the basket I had to pause the video.
This girl made a basket from her own hair.
isn't it some kind of superpower?😁
There should be some kind of Oscar for hairstyles. This would be the winner
So. Much. Braiding.
That is actual art, so cool!
You pull off that era wayyyy too well! GORGEOUS!
The 7 strand braid + your lovely hair colour *so* reminds me of antique metal laces! Just stunning.
