It's the little things that make me so happy! I had no idea Desi was there sleeping!!! I just kept talking away!! Watching him sleep would be a great video for me...no talking needed!!! Just his little snore! Love to you and happy Memorial Day weekend!!! xxoo Susan & Desi PS: I think he wanted to say hi to all of you and just fell asleep waiting his turn!
LittlePoet, What an honor it is to get 100,000 subscribers. Your channel is very down to earth, unique, thoughtful, creative and artistic. One of a kind really. Congratulations on receiving this well deserved plaque
I am 60 trying to find a new job due to leaving a job, forced... but, watching your vids gives me hope, watching tina turner and reading her book gave me strength may she rest in peace. Yesterday was the 4th anniversary of my mother passing, she gives me strength. I need all you women whether I know you or not. Thank you, Susan ❤you look adorable in that dress and you are the real deal 😘 cheers, salute' and slainte 🍾🥂
Best wishes on your journey! My mom passed eight years ago. What gets me through my grief for loved ones is knowing they're in a better place. I had Tina Turner's autobiography years ago it got lost. My daughter just purchased it for me. I ❤ Tina also she was very inspiring for me. I come from an abusive past Tina's life her book her movie really helped me and a lot of women. Best wishes!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would love to own a single home. I own a condo. The homes around me are at $400k, and still employed. For a power outage, just use candles, or invest in a generator.
You don't need to get a wooden table, your glass table is fine. I can't imagine telling someone that their choice of furniture is wrong. What you like is what should be in your home. Love the dress and your home. Desi looks happy in his backyard.😊 Have a fabulous weekend. Congratulations on your UA-cam plaque and 100,000 subscribers. ❤
I was thinking the same thing. When Susan mentioned that someone said the glass table was wrong, I was thinking 'how rude'. I think the glass table is wonderful - it's light and airy. Wood tables can be heavy looking....I would never tell anyone that their choice of furniture is wrong. Sure...it might not be something an individual would have for themselves, but everyone is different and it makes us unique!!
I agree with you Brenda. The glass table is a lighter open airy look..and I love it. I would never change something unless I wanted to. It's my house and I will have it the way I like it. I feel the same about the kitchen paint. I would not wait and hope the color grew on me! I would paint the kitchen and any other room the color I love. I always tell others (if they ask my opinion) to go with what they love. And Susan has an eye for what is beautiful.
Susan, congratulations on your 100,000th subscribers! That in itself, is a great accomplishment. Being a retired Landscape Designer, I’m surprised the one you picked, wouldn’t have recommend or tell you how you can plant your own design. One suggestion I told clients were, what kind of anchor plants, trees would you like. If you have a patio or deck, start planting annuals in pots , for instant color. Divide your yard into 4 sections. Draw out🎉 your own design, buy the big specimen pieces and plant them first. The big box stores have sales. Look for your perennials at the end of the year, since they come back year after year and you can divide them every third yr. to spread around your yard. Susan, you can do this - look what you have done in your life already. Blessings, to you and Desi. 💕🌻💐🌼🌸
@@texasmimi5566 Great landscaping advice for Susan! I loved that too🌞. I follow a You Tuber for a wealth of knowledge on plants and garden adventures even though I don’t have a garden. I’ve learned a lot on plants for sun & shady areas. We all can dream 💖
I might have finally figured out how to “look below” for the links in your videos to purchase any of the products. I have been a subscriber for years now, and was never able to figure it out. I wouldn’t want you to go to all that trouble to explain it to me, except that I think it might be a benefit to you as well, and to other subscribers, that, at least some of them, might be technically challenged such as myself. Leah
I agree thank you so much for telling Susan!!!! I would suggest buying a tree or two and placing it in the yard so that it can start growing and look beautiful in a couple years... The rest of the lawn can really stay grass until she's ready to design and decorate... In the meanwhile she'll have a green lawn and a couple beautiful trees❤
If you want that Weeping Cherry, you don't need a full size one. Get a small one that costs a lot less and plant it where you want it to grow. In 2-3 years, you'll have a full grown tree. And you'll also have bragging rights that you grew your own tree. Love you, Susan. I look forward to you and Desi every week.
Thank you for sweetness. I am a widow of two years living alone with my two dogs. Retired RN. Getting use to being by myself. It was hard at first after being married 48 yrs. Like you, I am doing my own landscaping and planting . My joy is the Lord. Digging in the dirt is therapeutic.
I have a marble coaster by my bed that says "The Joy of the Lord is my strength." Nehemiah 8:10b. I love that verse. It is so true and looking at the coaster is an empowering reminder. The joy of the Lord is the gladness of heart that comes from knowing God, abiding in Christ, and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
My mother is 76 and I'm in my 50's - we both get outside and dig in the dirt, plant trees, shrubs, flowers, create garden beds, veggie gardens - we even dug out our own little pond! We might feel achy for a few days after, but we really enjoy the reward of watching nothing turn into something, and know that "we" did that! ;)
I am also a woman living alone for the last 14 years. And the home I'm in now. I have been in for five years and also doing all of my own landscaping one little shrub at a time. But it has been so absolutely rewarding to even mow the yard and look at the new leaves on my little trees that I drove home in the front seat of my car and planted myself. So I wish you blessings on that journey and I will be happy to see your yard unfold for you.❤
AMEN! I have been single for 14 years and just purchased a little home on almost 1/4 acre that has enough land to create my dream garden. 14 years ago, I would have never imagined it this, God is good. I truly love my life as a single woman!
🌷I am so very happy for you all, and Susan and Desi, but not all of us have happy ‘loving alone’ stories. Maybe some day I will. God bless you all with happiness and all good things. 🙏💕
My mother loved her glass top table. Honestly when I saw your dining room table, I thought how well it worked because it created an airy feel. And in a small space, that seems like a good thing. It’s nice people offer suggestions but this is YOUR home so if you want to change your kitchen color, go for it! We aren’t going to live there, you are 😊
Omg!! Sweet Desi, falling asleep on the back of the sofa while you were filming was just precious to see. He’s your friend, your cuddle buddy, and protector, who loves you unconditionally. He’s as much a gift to you as you are to him. Looks like a gift from heaven to me❤ So when someone asks what’s it like to live alone, just say “ I don’t, I’m with Desi” 🐶😘
Thank you for saying this...how cute was that??? I just love his little face! I think he wanted to say ho to all of you and just fell asleep waiting his turn!
@@LittlePoet , I just lost my pup of 14yrs just a month ago. Unbelievable grief for me, and such a sense of aloneness, but I’m slowly getting better. Just seeing Desi, with you in your videos brings me such joy because he’s got such a gangsta way about him as you say, lol!❤☺
I’m so sorry for the loss of your furbaby, bless you, Our fur babies are such a special part of our lives and leave such a hole when they are gone. Hugs.❤🐾🙏🏻
@@debra7241sorry for your loss. I've had furangels my whole life and it is so heartbreaking 2 loose them. I wait awhile then l adopt another angel. I know all my angels are waiting for me at the rainbow bridge. M
It's wonderful to be a woman living alone. I've been a widow for 9 years. Took a while to get used to it but I'm glad I finally embraced it. Alone is not lonely. The freedom is wonderful. God is good. I'm at peace. Your place is lovely and I just can't get over how happy Dezi is, scampering around, inspecting everything. What a joy and a treasure. Bless you both.
Desi is the cutest ever, I love his little bow ties and he looks soooo happy in his yard... just dealing with a slight stroke the last 2 weeks, I am alone too 11 years now since hubby passed. Please get those light bulbs that last 4 hours from HSN, I use them all the time and keep extras.. have a drawer full so I'm never without light,,, they r wonderful, my kitchen is the same color as yours, painted it a few months ago. luv your new home....God Bless : )
Remember during a power outage you can always charge your phone in your car and warm up in your car if you don’t have heat in the house. Little Desi is adorable, thank God you have him.
Oh I have tried that Mary! My car doors froze shut! But when I got in for some reason it took me 30 minutes sitting in there to charge my phone to 30%! I was so tramtized!!! Happy Monday and may our power never ever go out!!! xo Susan & Desi
Also the battery operated candles that you can place in you windows keep the rooms lit when you are without power.... Also put on timers for a few hours in the evening is beautiful ambiance inside and out
I keep a small flashlight in each room in case the power goes out so that I can grab the flashlight and move about my house. Also, keep a flashlight where your breaker box is located so you can find a tripped breaker with it. I keep battery operated candles with timers in the main living areas of my house, so even if the power goes out, the candles provide some light.
I'm 74 and brought my home on my own 27 yrs ago at the age of 46. Everyone either said I was making a huge financial mistake or you need a man to make a purchase so big which just made me more determined. The first few years were tough but with time it got easier and very slowly I was able to do alot of renovations. Now I love my home and it is the smartest investment I've ever made. As far as living alone goes "I Love It". All I do is whatever I want all day long. 🤣🤣 Like you Susan I have male friends that I can spend time with if I ever feel lonely for male company. My life is wonderful and I'm eternally grateful for all I have. Life is great. Wishing you only the very best in your new adventure. You are IN so enjoy and no hurry for changes. JUST BE!!❤
I live alone and have a fairly large back garden. It’s hard work at 71 years old but I can’t afford a gardener. But it’s so rewarding when you look at the progress and can feel proud that you did it yourself. You will end up with a beautiful back ‘yard’ as you say in the USA. Always wear gloves, whether thin silicone ones for light work or gardening gloves for harder work. Gardening is not kind to your hands! Good luck, it’s going to be amazing.
So true about gloves. Stupid me loved the feel of the soil on my hands, and never wore gloves for years. It discolored my nails and they took a long time to recover after I started wearing gloves. I too cannot afford gardener, so do everything myself. Have been working on my yard for years, and loving every minute of it.
Absolutely... At seventy-five I find I cannot do even half of what I could do at 68.... Plan your yard carefully with minimal maintenance required from yourself!
Stick to perennials for flowers.... Evergreens for lots of your bushes... To keep the yard green all year... A couple trees and stone or brick whatever you can get the cheapest!! Lawn is always green and cheap compared to maintaining the rest of the yard.. an electric lawn mower is easy light and it's 75 I can still manage to mow my lawn about the same size as your backyard
Good on you for continuing to take care of your yard even as age makes the work more difficult. You obviously take pride in your property and I am sure your neighbors appreciate it also!
Thank you for sharing your life with me tonight. It is rough, but I will be leaving my marriage and my home very shortly. I can not imagine living alone, so listening and watching your videos gives me hope to get through it all. I hope you can stay with me through this very depressing transition Thank you so much On another note, I'm sure you will do fine at working your garden, and yes, don't rush it. This way, you can use it as therapy. That is my plan. I will be moving into our snow bird home in Florida. I have no where else I can go. So this will become my new home. I hope to visit you often and may we share in our transitions. God Bless!
Try not to worry Jane. I have been living by myself for 7 years now. At first I found it hard because I had never lived alone. But now I really enjoy it all. I want to have a small dog and a cat for more love around me. I will keep you in my prayers. You will grow and be happy🌺
Jane, you are amazing.... Some never find the courage to do what you are doing. It is not easy. My neighbor left her husband and home of 57 years. She was ready at age 81 to enjoy her life on her terms. She is so at peace & enjoying each day now. Wishing you all the best. ❤
Hello Susan, I'm glad to hear that you decided to keep your blue kitchen! That color blue is just perfect, I love it! As always, I've enjoyed your video this week. Congratulations on seeing all your hard work over the years bear fruit. You are an inspiration to us older women that it is not too late for us to flip our scripts and learn new things. That Cute little Desi is obviously living the dream in his new home and backyard!! He is a joy to watch. Blessings!
I love your glass dining room table! It repeats the glass of your coffee table and gives the room a beautiful lightness. I am 72 years of age and I have planted a large yard full of trees, shrubs and perennials all on my own, by just doing a bit at a time. It is very rewarding watching the work of my hands become more beautiful every year. I look forward to seeing your garden blossom and grow.
I so agree with you about the pretty glass dining table!!! Besides allowing all that lovely light to pass through, it makes the room appear larger 😊 And the money you don't spend on a new table can purchase so many beautiful living things for your garden!!! 🌳🌸🌿🌻🌳🌷🌿🌺🍃
There is nothing more satisfying than feeling the soil between your fingers as you create your own garden then watching your flowers / trees grow . Looking forward to see what you create over the next years . Have a safe week 💕🌹🌹
please let me become your cheerleader, as a widow of 10 years, now i am 74 years old... i am redoing my backyard, alone..... i began gardening when my hubby died.. this year i decided to do away with 90 % of my grass.. thanks to the grubs that destroyed most of the sod... so here comes the lemonade!!!!! invest in a 40.oo drill. buy an agar, large drill bit that digs holes in the soil... i have planted over 150 plants,,, then decided i must invest in an agar..... the joy of doing this project is so gratifying my yard is so beautiful, i dont believe it is the same.. phase 2 is planting a rose garden.. go girl, you dont need a landscaper....blessings,annie
I too am a 71 year old woman alone too. But I also love it. I have times I'm lonely, but I have 2 cat furbabies. I get a lot of love. Just like you and Dezi. Your home is beautiful and full of peace, joy, and love. I'm glad we met, dear friend.
If you should get a little frustrated from time to time concerning how slow your back yard dream is coming along just remember Desi loves it just as it is & he doesn’t give two hoots & a holler about the other fluff ❤
Yes hello there again I’m just saying if you are indeed awake we know that there are so many things for us to be concerned with at such a time as this (P.S. I spoke with Desi about it & he agreed with me he loves his new back yard 🙏🏻
I adore your house and Desi looks so content! I know I'm in the minority, but I'd love to see the kitchen cabinets painted a pale yellow. Plus, I think you should paint them whatever color makes YOU happy (not us). 💖
My little Pomeranian was going nuts barking at Desi and your neighbors dog! My Theo absolutely loves watching TV. We both enjoy you so much albeit for very different reasons 😂. I love everything you’ve done so far! The kitchen rug is beautiful. The blue reminds me of a beautiful sunny blue sky. On a personal note, I’d like to ask for prayer from this amazing community for my daughter. She is a breast cancer survivor, diagnosed 4 years ago at only 33 years old. She’s gone through so much and with such bravery and grace. She just discovered a lump on her chest wall. It was biopsied yesterday and we’ll hopefully get results Tuesday. Please pray it’s benign. She is the reason I moved to Hawaii after she was diagnosed. Financially it’s hard for me and I had to downsize to a tiny apartment but that is a small sacrifice to be near her. Because of her type of cancer she also needs a hysterectomy to prevent ovarian cancer, so I won’t be a grandma. I always dreamt of being one, but I’d trade that in a second for my precious girl to live a long happy healthy life.
Hi Susan! I just wanted to share a little about my friend’s memorable backyard. As you walked out her back door onto her deck, you saw three heart-shaped gardens. The hearts were formed with flowering plants. Inside one heart was a birdbath, another had a small tree, and another had a small table with two chairs. It was like her own secret garden! It was something that could easily be switch around and decorated. It was definitely unique!
All these comments are so supportive, kind and encouraging. I love this community you've built. Congratulations on your silver UA-cam plaque. You deserve it. I always feel inspired by your content. And, I love Desi too. ❤ I live alone but don't have an outside space. I can't wait to see your yard blossom...
Even though I have been married for 28 years, I think I would not have a problem living alone. I cherish my alone time. I think as we get older we need time to ourselves. So happy you’re settling in to your new home. I love yard projects, you will have such an awesome time creating your yard. It’s a wonderful feeling to know you created a little piece of heaven ❤
I am never alone ❤ I have Jesus in my heart. I love your new kitchen rugs, so pretty. Looks like you’ve settled in so nicely to your beautiful home! Desi looks happy too . 😁
As a fellow single (and loving it) gal, I 👀 forward to your videos every Saturday night. They never fail to make me smile❣️You will love landscaping your own yard… I’ve been doing it for many years and find it’s good for what ails ya and oh so rewarding!!! 👩🌾 Sending SO MUCH LOVE to you and Desi!!!! ❤️
When I bought my house 33 years ago I have a dream about my garden, but like you I couldn't afforded. Today every plant every tree have a story. I look at it and I can see my kids planting there favorite flowers, tree or plants. Now my granddaughter is making memories with me. Make your new chapter in your life with your grandchildren. Its worth it. 🌴
Oh Susan,! How absolutely beautiful you look in your lovely sun dress. It thrills my heart to see Desi romping in the backyard, so happy!! You are in your element in your precious cottage home, and it shows in all you do. Thank you for the "shout out" last week for the flowers. They did a wonderful job. I'm so glad that you enjoyed them. Flowers make everything better!! Continued blessings each day during your new chapter of life. BIG HUGS!!!!
oh they are so beautiful!!!! Did you see them!!!! I was so thrilled!!!!! I still am and the blue vase will fit in so elegantly!!!! Love your sweet kind heart so much!!!
Susan I would like to congratulate you on your 100k subscribers. You and Dezi deserve it. You bring a well needed real friend into our livingrooms. I get excited everytime a notification comes through for a new video. ❤❤you deserve this and way more. Beautiful
YAY!!!! You're keeping the blue kitchen! You can get a tree smaller from even Home Depot or a nursery and plant it and let it grow. It's healthier than planting a fully grown tree. You can do a section at a time and get the discounted plants and plant them. I love the pocket hoses. But for the first time today at the age of 74 and while gardening, I thought it has become too much for me. I get little to no help most days. I have created a lovely jungle but it is a lot to care for. By the way, that hose is sold out.
Privacy fence will make your yard much more like a hidden garden ( even if you just have lawn for a couple years)... Whether it's with evergreen bushes, trellis fencing, or whatever❤... In my opinion that's where I would start, get the lawn going, Santa couple trees started... That's all you need for a couple years❤❤❤
Wonderful video. I agree… take your time and add new pieces to your home and yard gradually. Even one hanging basket or one bench can make a big difference, you may find that as you do the work yourself, your ideas will change and shift. Your first year will bring the fun and joy of watching your yard change with each season. As the leaves change colors and the first snow arrives, the personality of your yard will emerge. Loved this video.🌸
I love the glass table!! The glass table is unexpected and a beautiful contrast to the wood furniture; it brings an eclectic touch to your beautiful home. The glass opens up the room and also brightens the room The heavy wood and the transparency of the glass compliment each other. Your home is beautiful!
Can’t wait until our next visit!! The pops of yellow in your kitchen will make it so charming! You know that blue is so cottage like and it reminds me of the beautiful Forget Me Not flowers and bluebirds of spring. It’s actually a very soothing and happy color. Adding your happy pop of yellow makes it even cuter! Slowly adding your touches to the landscape in your backyard is so wise of you. Come next spring your current ideas may be something that isn’t what you want after all ….and you may consider adding a little cozy gazebo surrounded by a wildflower garden with a sweet wondering paver pathway to the house. Isn’t dreaming fun?! 😊😊😊 whatever you decide I know it will be whimsical and breathtakingly beautiful! I love you Susan. Thank you for the happy moments I spend each Saturday with you.
I love your little house! I don't know that I will ever have one (I live in an RV) but I am making this a home, not just a place to stay. I LOVE being alone. After 40 years in a bad marriage (he's in an Adult Care Home) I am so happy to be able to live the way I want to without someone telling me I can't do what I want. I decorate how I want, I eat what and when I want, I go to bed and get up when I want. It is truely heaven!
I take care of my yard, and I love being outside in the sunshine digging in the dirt! I actually call it “my dirt therapy.” There’s just something about smelling the dirt, planting new flowers and trees, and watching everything grow and bloom that feeds my soul! I’m so glad you’re not changing the color of your kitchen cabinets!!! The rugs you added are beautiful!
Hi, I been watching your videos for awhile now but rarely comment. I'm 62 and I live alone. Somedays I feel lonely. It seems the world is full of couples. When I feel down I remind myself that I have good health, financial stability and peace. I have some friends, I golf, read, paddle on the river, do classes at the gym and I love to garden. I miss having someone to share my life with but life doesn't always work out the way we thought it would. Thank you for your joyful videos and congratulations on 100,000 subscribers.
Dear Susan, I just want to congratulate you on reaching over 100,000 subscribers! It has been such a joy to share your journey over these past years. You have filled my heart with joy, I've shed many tears too right along with you but we've all shared the journey with anticipation and hope for the future- you certainly are one of natures' born story tellers. And I think its because you are so very kind! I remember a couple of years back and I think you asked what we did or what gave us joy and I answered that I had started a UA-cam channel because I wanted to help the elderly through the joy of art classes - well, I'll never forget when you replied in the comments and told me that you finally found my channel and that you had subscribed!!! WOW!!! I was totally blown away (cause there's a lot out there with my name hahahaha). You totally deserve every acknowledgement and success cause its hard work (but you make it look effortless)! Wishing you much continued success Susan and love to Desi too xxx It won't be long before you reach a million 😘
Love your summer dress, when you walk it flows so nice. Desi definitely is becoming the King of his back yard. Glad you decided not to paint your kitchen, and that power pack is a great idea. You and Desi have a wonderful week.
I love your home it is so cozy. You live close to your grandson and family. I live alone but close to my adult children and adult grandchildren and my 2year old great grandson. Enjoy your life!!
I love your new home! It's YOU! I also really like the blue cabinets but remember it's your home and if you want to paint them then do it! Your dining room table is wonderful....the glass top and white chairs are a really nice contrast to the more traditional furniture. It's refreshing and eclectic. Most of all I love seeing Desi stretching and trotting around his new yard. 😍
Love love your new home! I agree with leaving your cabinets blue. And your rugs in there are perfect! I would keep your glass dining table! Glass makes the room seat bigger. You already have A LOT of wood and don’t need more. Love your fireplace!! 100% I think you should get 2” white vinyl blinds and NO drapes!!! You’ll have all the light you want and close them for privacy. Your son can help you plant the tree you want and I believe you can do the rest❤ I’m so proud of you! Give Desi kisses from me!!!
saved for 5 years to pay cash for my 6ft cedar fence. changed the look of my home. added a side garden bed and it's bursting forth this spring. planted several trees in my backyard and added a pergola to the deck. it's my private oasis ❤ it's taken 6 years and still adding on. I'm grateful. can't wait to go with you and Desi on your gardening journey ❤
Hello from Ontario Canada, I’m a woman alone and own my own home, it’s amazing, free, and rewarding, we have so much in common, I enjoy your videos❤️🇨🇦🇺🇸❤️
Hi Susan. Congratulations on your one hundred subscribers. Desi should be included. Your house is beautiful. I hope you enjoy living in it. Take Care. 😊
It is so fun to watch Desi play in the yard. I have lived alone by choice, for 53 years. I am 78. The longer I have been alone , I enjoy it more and more. My two dogs and two cats keep me from ever feeling lonely.
Glad you're keeping the light blue kitchen cabinets [I was one of the people haha] and I like your garden gnome. "What's it like to be a woman alone?" I so needed this, to see you confident and exuberently moving forward in your dream. You shine ✨ I wish I had a dream. I'm not even at the beginning. I don't even have a dream...
Tip: you can freeze the extra coffee and then thaw in microwave next day. I don't waste the extra cup in my single brew. Sometimes, I add more to the frozen container another day and it tastes really good , I love not wasting my organic coffee. Enjoy.
Have you considered a pink dogwood tree from the view of your dining room.... Fast-Growing ...bright pink flowers in the spring and red foliage in the fall.. perfect to put a park bench under❤ a very beautiful tree I have one in my yard
🌱 ~Your kitchen rugs are gorgeous & coordinate beautifully with those charming blue cabinets! I also "love" your glass top dining table! ~Very elegant, classy, light & airy. ~I "love" it Susan ❤
I don’t know you but I can honestly say that I love your soul and of course Desi’s soul as well! Good for you for having the courage to follow your dreams❤. Doing your backyard slowly is the best idea-you will grow to love it even more with every change you make. Absorbing the nature around you helps one feel secure and grounded. Be safe always! Think about some sort of security system especially with your bedroom on the first floor. Eat good healthy food, take walks and feel the connection of your many friends who wish you and Desi only the best around the country. You made it!❤❤❤
I have that same little coffee maker. Mine is robins egg blue. It makes my cup of coffee in the morning and I just love it! I absolutely love the rug you put in the kitchen. Congratulations on everything! Thank you so much for sharing.😊
Congratulations on your award. I am living alone and have been for over twenty five years. I like being independent and at age 82, I look at my yard and think I have done a pretty good job over the years. Think doing your own yard is something that gives one enjoyment if you take your time. Some of my plants should have been on skates I moved them so much 😂. I wish you and Desi a happy life in your home. Hugs from Northern California.
You are me! I lost my Mom and Husband within 4 months of each other. Worst year of my life. Downsized and moved I to little bungalow too. You are a inspiration! THANK YOU & GOD BLESS !
I live in a home alone since my husband passed away well actually since he had a stroke in 2009 and then passed away in 2014, but I am never alone. I have Jesus Christ as my savior, and it made me fiercely independent and strong💪 just the way you are Susan and of course you have the Des man🐶love my kerig❤❤❤and my air fryer ❤❤I have that hose 100 ft also, I have five gardens. This reaches from the back to the front. Absolutely love it. I’ve had mine for three years now.
Your home is adorable, it looks prefect for you and Desi. It just warmed my heart to see Desi enjoying the back yard and making a new friend. Yes take your time with the backyard. Sit out side different times of the day and evening to get a feel for the space so you can create rooms in sections of the yard.
I really like your glass dining room table. Mixing up styles just a little bit (a little more modern with a little more traditional) creates a nice tension and makes for a more fresh and interesting interior. I think you should keep it! ❤
Congratulations dear Susan!! You and Desi deserve the award!! I’m so happy to see your first post from your new home!! I’m sure your backyard plans will look amazing- better than any fancy , pricey landscaping service!! You’ll do a fantastic job, whatever you decide!! You look amazing in the Christian Sirriona dress!! This will make you chuckle Susan, but I get anxious if I miss your videos!! Watching you and Desi are one of the highlights of my weekend!! Your joy and wisdom truly inspire me!! Thank you for sharing your journey with us!!When I can afford to do it, I’m definitely going to grab one of the portable charging stations!! I have a few rechargeable lanterns& LED candles for power outages. Wishing you, Desi and your family all the best!! Take care Susan!!😍😍😍🙏🙏🙏
I just want to say that if you ever want to paint your kitchen yellow... just do it... The blue colour is beautiful but yellow is sunshine, varm and welcoming and a little gold too would be so beautiful... and grow your garden yourself, one step at a time... the fun is in the growing and to see it come alive little by little... and keep a place for wild flowers.. the blue "forget me not" are so beautiful...
I’m so happy for you! Yes, you can do the backyard yourself. I’ve been working on mine too. I can’t afford a professional. I’ve discovered how much I love gardening. Desi is precious ❤
I came across yr channel 3 days ago and I'm enjoying it so much. You are a very positive soul and give hope and inspiration through good times and bad ❤. I love yr elegant home, it's so cosy and you should have it the way you want... whatever brings joy into yr life. I hope you are well and give sweet Desi a hug from me. X
I'm from Kingsport TN! I am 51 now living in my little home alone and after the adjustment period, I've never felt so much peace and contentment ❤ I love the glass table!
@@pamcornelius9122 Depends on the circumstances, for me it was very quick, just about a month, but I left a bad situation that I was ready to be away from for a long time before I actually left. I also know I'm truly not alone because of my faith. It's possible and worth it! ❤️
Hi, you are an inspiration to us all. No need to be shy in trying to purchase plants for your home. A wonderful tradition is as you make new friends, and neighbors, as they hear about your love of gardening, may consider giving you some of there's. Some communities may have a plant exchange, where you can meet and purchase annuals, perennials, and small shrubs for a small price. Don't overlook nearby arboretums, some also may have an annual giveaway of extras. Whatever your home will be make it perfect to vision. Hugs to Desi, he is the best. I'm sure as you see him romping around the yard, your worries will evaporate! 🥰🐕🐶🌼🌼🌼🌳
You and Desi looks so very happy!, looks like he’s a bit sleepy today, I guess he’s been running around in his beautiful garden. You are such a sweetheart ❤ blessings to you and Master Desi!! 🥰👵🏽👍🏾🌹
Loved that dress! And the red belt. Desi has changed so much … he has grown more confident and curious ! I think you’ll make a haven out of your garden by shopping from salvage yards nearby, and bringing home objects that were once loved and had to be given to be adopted again! Happy transformation. No rush, slow and meaningful does it for us. Don’t close your garden up too much, it will be an inspiration and an oasis for lonely mums walking with kids, little latchkey boys returning to empty houses or a lonely elderly person who will begin to cherish his walks just because of passing by your yard. People will probably change their walking routes for you, Susan, and Desi, certainly!
Been watching your videos for about a year, and I am so inspired by you! When you post videos with Desi running outdoors, I am overjoyed by his happiness! He deserves that bit of running room! Its perfect for you both! :)
I love the glass top table…. The wood table will make the space look smaller…. You know what is right for you! Just do it! I love your interior design skills! Love to confident you and Desi!
I purchased a Japanese Red Maple tree from a local grower year's ago. It took me hour's walking around looking at all of the offerings before I picked the "one" tree that was just perfect. Then my girlfriend and I managed to Hall it home in the trunk of her car 🤣 Then it took almost a week to be able to dig the hole and plant that tree!!! Oh how I loved that little tree. When I had to sell our house and I had to leave the little tree behind I cried so hard 💔 I just pray that they kept her and she's growing strong and healthy today! Love you little poet and of course Mr Desire too ❣️ PS your choice of rug's in the kitchen is perfect!
I had a Japanese Red Maple too that I nurtured from a small tree. I was so intrigued by them when I moved to the PNW from Souther California. I loved watching it flourish and grow every year. When I had to sell I was so sad to leave it. I hope the new owners love it as much as I did. I still think about that tree to this day.
@@tamaralerette3669 Exactly Last time I looked via Google Earth it was still where I planted it. You should ck it out, it brought a huge smile to my ❤️
I'm about to be a widow. At almost 75, I haven't lived alone since I was 23. I decided to go ahead and grow my garden after all, I wasn't going to bother but it's satisfying to see bare dirt spring to vibrant colorful life! I will never seek romance again, I'm happy with my sons and grandchildren and friends. I'm sad and scared but watching you gives me such pleasure. your home is so nice and your yard will be fantastic. If you get a small (affordable) weeping cherry maybe it will grow fast! But it will still look so pretty as the years go by. I planted a tiny snowball bush and now three years later, it has bloomed with big, beautiful flowers! Oh my, That dress! And little Desi, so darling.
Susan, it is so good to see you so happy in your new home! That dress is to die for, you look incredible in it! Such a beautiful woman. Love the charger station too, that is just amazing! But what really struck me in this video was how wonderfully you spoke of living on your own with Desi. You are so right, it hurts a little at first, but then it grows into something beautiful, like a gift we give ourselves, with God above being our wingman, supplying us with the strength and determination and spirit, to find our own path and enjoy our own company! I consider my home my sanctuary of peace and retreat, a place of true rest from this crazy modern world. You are such an inspiration, just love and praise to you! You have no idea how interesting your videos are, and how much help you are giving all of us out here, who may be lonesome and feel so grateful for your kindred spirit. Thank you so much for all you do and give.
You are gorgeous in that dress!! 🩷 Desi is SO happy and cute sleeping...I am sure he gets worn out, playing outside. 😊 Your rugs are beautiful!! Yes, take your time with your home. I love the glass DR table! I love living alone! 🩷🌞😊
The mini Keurig is great, and their coffees are delicious. Enjoy those little things in life, you deserve them. Your yard is going to be fantastic. And you can take some time putting it together. Perennials come back year after year. I prefer the glass table over wood, the kitchen is beautiful in blue, and your rugs match!
Desi clearly is enjoying his backyard! I think it wears him out. He's adorable. I got twin white sheets, some rod rings with clips, folded the top over until they were the right length and they are light and airy, no-sew curtains.
Susan you are just beaming with joy in your new home. Congratulations on your 100,000 mark on UA-cam, you deserve. I’ve been watching for about a year & look forward to a new video each week. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Dear Susan, I am truly happy for you and Desi. You both look SO HAPPY in your new home and Desi even has a dog friend who lives next door. I absolutely love your kitchen it’s so charming and cozy. My advice is not to rushed in any major decisions on costly decor, furniture or renovations. Wait feel and live the house. The house will let you know. Enjoy your house it’s a home not a showplace to impress people.
You can do the backyard yourself for sure. $1400 to get a tree and have it planted? Nuts. Get the tree in the smaller size and have your friends dig a hole. It’ll grow. Get “Sunday” lawn care on line delivered and spray your yard yourself to thicken the grass. I’m sure your son can help with any beds you want. It’ll all look great !
When the lights go out I just light candles! Lights don’t keep you safe. Just have a cozy night. Oh, and I just love that Desi has a yard and a doggy friend.
Little Poet, what a comfort you are for women living alone and a inspiration for all of us ❤ The house warming knife set yout son gave you shows he knows your taste. Very unque and quite pretty 😊 🙏
What a lovely picture of you wearing a beautiful dress and in your own garden…..not under the gazebo….fabulous. House will be amazing whatever you do…..you have wonderful taste. Garden hose is a great idea…. Thanks for another fantastic video and star of the show is our lovely Desi….how dare they leave his name off your award…..congratulations Susan 🌸
I loved seeing Desi sleeping in the corner of the video!
@@LittlePoet It was the sweetest thing seeing sleeping so peacefully. Hugs to both you and Desi ❤
@@LittlePoet An ASMR video 😊
I loved that, too ❤ It was so sweet to see him there
knowing some of Desi's history, the fact that he is so content sleeping on the couch and so HAPPY in his backyard fills my heart with joy!
You're not really alone anymore and you never really were. Your great Creator lives in you and now you share all your wonderful self with us!

@fabulousfoods8539 Appreciate your words 😊
Desi looks happy in his backyard.😊
Have a fabulous weekend.
Yes the glass table gives it an airy light feeling.
Hear hear on the table comment 👍🌸
I love the glass table too, it's not heavy in the space like wood may be and it does go beautifully with the coffee table from the living room.
It is very kind of you to give professional advice to not only Susan but to all of her subscribers. Thank you!
We might feel achy for a few days after, but we really enjoy the reward of watching nothing turn into something, and know that "we" did that! ;)
BEAUTIFUL. ❣🎈
So I wish you blessings on that journey and I will be happy to see your yard unfold for you.❤
❤
You are inspiring!

Look at Desi having the time of his life!
I hope you have a speedy recovery from the stroke!
You have the fireplace now tho or is it gas
You can invest in a whole house generator too
I'm 74 and brought my home on my own 27 yrs ago at the age of 46.

And, you a knee cushion too 🌻
So true about gloves.
I hope you can stay with me through this very depressing transition
Thank you so much
On another note, I'm sure you will do fine at working your garden, and yes, don't rush it. This way, you can use it as therapy.
That is my plan. I will be moving into our snow bird home in Florida. I have no where else I can go. So this will become my new home. I hope to visit you often and may we share in our transitions. God Bless!
Change isn't always bad. It could be the start of something great. Good luck ☘️
Good luck to you. It will work out for the best. You will be fine and stronger. 🍀🍀🍀
Good luck to you. Remember, God is always with you!
I love your glass dining room table! It repeats the glass of your coffee table and gives the room a beautiful lightness.

I so agree with you about the pretty glass dining table!!! Besides allowing all that lovely light to pass through, it makes the room appear larger 😊 And the money you don't spend on a new table can purchase so many beautiful living things for your garden!!! 🌳🌸🌿🌻🌳🌷🌿🌺🍃

please let me become your cheerleader, as a widow of 10 years, now i am 74 years old... i am redoing my backyard, alone..... i began gardening when my hubby died.. this year i decided to do away with 90 % of my grass.. thanks to the grubs that destroyed most of the sod... so here comes the lemonade!!!!! invest in a 40.oo drill. buy an agar, large drill bit that digs holes in the soil... i have planted over 150 plants,,, then decided i must invest in an agar..... the joy of doing this project is so gratifying my yard is so beautiful, i dont believe it is the same.. phase 2 is planting a rose garden.. go girl, you dont need a landscaper....blessings,annie

Tamara, I am praying for you and your daughter. God bless, protect and heal you both.

I want to see that! It sounds “love”ly!💕🌷💕🌷💕
All these comments are so supportive, kind and encouraging. I love this community you've built.

Same … no outside space either but I am loving Susan’s gardening journey !!

Oh I am sure your home is beautiful!!!
Desi bowties really rock. Desi was trying to keep his eyes open while you were talking. So precious.
The red belt was a perfect pop of color also, Susan - made your waist look so small.💃🏽
Desi is so stinking Cute!! You can tell he loves his new space. Also i really like the rugs you chose for the kitchen.
I am 70 years old and I plant my own plants including a vegetable garden every year
saved for 5 years to pay cash for my 6ft cedar fence. changed the look of my home. added a side garden bed and it's bursting forth this spring. planted several trees in my backyard and added a pergola to the deck. it's my private oasis ❤ it's taken 6 years and still adding on.
So glad your settling into your lovely new home. 🏡Thank you for your inspirational words.🙏 Sending ❤ Love from Rosie O🌹 from Devon England 👏🇬🇧
Enjoy.
Coffee is not CHEAP! I refrigerate my leftover coffee too for the next day!
The longer I am by myself the happier I am! 19 years and counting!
My first night completely alone. I cried everyday I knew it was coming. I will get through this. Your videos have helped me immensely ❤
THANK YOU & GOD BLESS
!
Desi is always the absolute best accessory
How long is the adjustment period? Asking for a friend. 😂
@@pamcornelius9122 Depends on the circumstances, for me it was very quick, just about a month, but I left a bad situation that I was ready to be away from for a long time before I actually left. I also know I'm truly not alone because of my faith. It's possible and worth it! ❤️
@@dotsonms Thanks for responding, I’m glad you’re in a better place!
Yay! Blue kitchen cabinets STAY!😊
There is NOTHING wrong or horrible about having a life on your own! I LOVE having a home with just my dogs. I love it!!! ❤
I feel just like you, Susan...how pleasant it is living alone.
Awesome! Thank you!
Alone too. I am free and thriving.
Then my girlfriend and I managed to Hall it home in the trunk of her car 🤣
Then it took almost a week to be able to dig the hole and plant that tree!!! Oh how I loved that little tree. When I had to sell our house and I had to leave the little tree behind I cried so hard 💔
I just pray that they kept her and she's growing strong and healthy today!
Love you little poet and of course Mr Desire too ❣️
PS your choice of rug's in the kitchen is perfect!

Exactly
Last time I looked via Google Earth it was still where I planted it.
Hi , so great to see you and Desi again, look how much you have achieved . I live alone and I love it. Enjoy my dear, enjoy ❤
Desi is SO happy and cute sleeping...I am sure he gets worn out, playing outside.
I found a Yoshino Cherry tree at Walmart for $24.99 after paying $499 for the same size at a nursery.
Desi clearly is enjoying his backyard! I think it wears him out. He's adorable. I got twin white sheets, some rod rings with clips, folded the top over until they were the right length and they are light and airy, no-sew curtains.
IT DOES wear the little guy out!!!! h eplays and plays and then comes in and naps...and it starts all over again!!!! Love to you!!!
Susan you are just beaming with joy in your new home. Congratulations on your 100,000 mark on UA-cam, you deserve. I’ve been watching for about a year & look forward to a new video each week. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Dear Susan,
I am truly happy for you and Desi.
Seeing Desi romp around in his yard is awesome. Good move Susan, and YOU apear to be soooo happy! You are blessed!
I agree with you, no need of constantly buying, esp, a landscape company. Have your family help you. ..
And an excellent Brand also.
It is so exciting to see your and Desi's new home come together. Take your time and enjoy the process!
