Hi Kay, a tip from an old 66 year old 😉. One you have deep cleaned you oven shelves, l just pop them on the top shelf of the dishwasher every few weeks and it just keeps them from getting back to a bad state again. Love your homely, happy house x

This or you can actually get some washable covers to place on top of them when cooking. They have some that can withstand the oven heat.

@@MissAnyaDanielle I have heard these can mess up with baking, the heat is not equally spread.

To prevent streaks on your backsplash (or any stainless steel), after you clean it put a couple drops of baby oil or coconut oil on a microfiber cloth and use it as a polish. It works great!

You always motivate me to get up and get something done after a relaxing watch. I am sorry you were ill, and I'm impressed you were able to get so much accomplished feeling poorly - gives me even more of a push to get my cleaning done, since I feel fine! You have accomplished so much since moving in, and you always seem to stay positive no matter what you encounter. Have a lovely week!

My Mum swears by baby wipes and chopsticks for cleaning. If you wipe stuff down with baby wipes, as you see them, then you can avoid needing to do deep cleans. The chopsticks are good for getting your rag/wipe into weird or tricky spots, like the grooves on the skirtings.

We recently moved a few months ago and I’m still finding homes for everything and when I think everything is settled , I end up moving items about
We moved to bigger home too and new furniture as our old furniture wasn’t enough
Donated them to family, friends and fb market place aswell
I do weekly declutters too instead of monthly
I have a basket I use to items I no long need for charity etc
    It’s working well

We moved into our house in July she had a white fur cat so fur everywhere, but the most gross place was the oven it was full of grease and cat fur 🤢, i paid for a professional to come in and clean the cooker £50 well spent! dont get me wrong i tried to clean the oven but ive got a bad hip so unable to spend too long on the floor. We may never use it as i cook with a airfryer oven but its there if needed over Christmas. Hope you are feeling better take care and i look forward to the next video. X

Hi Kay, have you tried putting a couple of ice cubes on the carpet in your little boys room where the indentations are from the previous owners furniture? As they melt it relaxes the pile and with a little rub should restore the pile for you.then just hoover when it dries. Hope it helps and hope you feel much better now. lots of love

Hi Kay, not sure if anyone has mentioned yet but vinegar and water solution would be great for a streak free backsplash, I also use this for all windows and glass. If you don't like the smell you can pop in 15 drops of essential oil 😊

That carpet cleaning looked so satisfying, im with you on the new job prospects. Also most new ovens have doors you can take off so check yours out because it makes cleaning the inside of the oven so much easier. Have ever tried following any cleaning methods like The Organised Mum Method or fly lady. I try to follow TOMM and it does make life easier once you get into it. I’m stuck at the moment with a long term health issue so I’m struggling to keep up with my house but your video did motivate me 😀

Baby oil used sparingly on the cooker hood and splashback after you've cleaned it, works a treat x elbow grease wirjs amazingly on the cooker hood and anything with a layer of grease, no scrubbing needed just spray on and leave a whole then wipe off with a damp cloth x

  • @audreysutherland4739

Baby oil or WD40 will keep your stainless steel backsplash and hood looking shiny without streaks. Just buff until all the excess oil is removed. It sounds counter intuitive but it does work. Better than specific stainless steel cleaners. Also for your windows, it is easier to use washing up liquid and then a squeegee with a final buff using a glass micro fibre cloth is a quick and straightforward way to clean the finger marks. Well done Kay, a job well done x

For the backsplash behind your hob, try barkeepers friend cream. Leave it on for a couple of minutes then rinse it off and buff with a clean cloth. Melamine pads do a great job too. Or the TINIEST amount of baby oil rubbed all over it will get rid of the streaks and finger marks, and make it smell nice.

Love cleaning vlogs - always makes me think I want to clean - but then I lie down till the feeling goes away 😂 But yes it is genuinely motivating. I used to have a vax cylinder hoover when the make was fairly new and it was amazing - having curly hair that cast a lot the uprights were a nightmare to clean but the vax was amazing - and no replacement bags either. Just bought a cloth one and washed it every so often. I think we had it for 20 years until we had a blocked chimney and my husband had the great idea of using it for that - then work in the garden and it was relegated to the garage for all the messy jobs. Did you try Bacardi of soda and vinegar mixed to a paste and scrub the marks on the stairs with that ? I have used it before and marks came off after just leaving it for around 10-15 minutes. Also makes it fresh. Worth a try anyway 😊
