Many thanks to Jim Roberts for sharing the original VHS tape.
This song is so true. As I can't go back to the girl I really loved. I was so stupid to leave her. As my life has been so empty ever since😢
this is so wonderful. stirs my soul to hear him sing like this.
Thank You...."BUFFY FORD"....For Keeping The Music Alive...."ANGEL RAIN"
Love this song. One of the best American songwriters ever. I'd love to know why someone gave it a thumbs down.
I love this video and come back to it whenever I need a reminder of just how special John Stewart was. He was at the top of his game here, his voice strong and his guitar playing magnificent. Thank you, John for all the music and all the hours of pleasure you gave me from the Kingston Trio days right up to Punch the Big Guy. You ran the ridges, showed us the new frontier and gave us a ticket to the stars.
I saw John Stewart about 5 times between 1988 and 92. Several of those were at The Backstage in Seattle. In that time his voice began to go. I still enjoyed every concert. As His vocal ability declined, he would sing"quietly" and his concerts took on a new intimate vibe. They were like poems and prayers from a wise old man. Great memories.
I think it is so great that stuff like this appears out of nowhere...I just wish there was a video of the Phoenix Concerts band...
GREAT video. John's voice is in great shape here. Thanks, Paul.
As I start to get older, this song hits me harder.
Absolutely stunning!
This was a great show. Obrigado!
It's way cool to see a show I attended. May 5th, 1985. The Backstage.
Too bad my buddy Thure is mostly hidden by one of the support beams.
BEAUTY THIS IS BEAUTY
One of his very best songs for me. (That Takamine EF591 is so versatile!) Thanks for posting!
And he called her Sweet Heart On Parade
that's how ya mix folk -with rock my friends.
Better arrangement than the album version. Haunting.
