Thank God my mom raised me on the music of John Stewart. His music continues to inspire me as a writer. Now mom gets to hear him play with the angel band.
I LOVE John Stewart. His music with the K Trio and as a solo artist. Welcome another angry soul into paradise Lord. Thank you John for all of your great songs and great memories.
I keep thinking that Johnny will drift away... that his memory won't hurt... that this song won't echo as the years rush by... I saw interstellar the other night and this is the song that should have been in that film.... and that John would have loved it... space is vast... loss is emptier than space.... this song will echo through the universe, we are blessed only at the chance that we might hear it.
He captures and conveys in a beautiful and gentle way, some of those private moments we all have as we grow old and really appreciate the beauty of the life we live, the dreams we have and the sad realisation that this life won't last forever. . . .
Godspeed, John. I once invited you to be my co-pilot, and you answered you couldn't do that, but that you would be my wingman. And you always were. I hope it's true that the road shines bright when you're going home. I will miss you daily.
Thanks ... I remembered him young, then the Sweetheart on Parade video, great but heartbreaking. This has John with his voice still brilliant. Much appreciated. Mary
Thank you so much for this video. It was the one that finally allowed me to find closure, and come to terms with, the loss of this man and his songs. It brings peace to so many of us who found solice in his vision.
vickiemarie. I grew up in Phx too. My older brother was also at those Phx concerts. His wife had a cassette tape of the show and though barely a teen when I discovered the tape quite a few years after the event, I have loved JS and wished your experiences could have been mine.
Thank you for your efforts. I love John Stewart, one of my greatest memories of him was realizing he was only a few feet from me at a casino in Lake Tahoe and I saw him performing his last show. I was so pissed that I didn't realize he had been there. I still remember the side image of him playing his guitar
John Stewart. Never a very good singer (young or old) so I've never been able to explain why I LOVE him so much. He's an enthralling storyteller that just creates the greatest mood. Love this video. Thanks for posting it,
can anyone tell me.....Is this song on any of his albums???.......I can't find it anywhere. What an amazing gift this song is. It's simple construction and deep emotion is powerful & subtle at the same time. I'm really blown away by it....Someone, should be recording this song....it deserves to be heard by many, many people....I got to see John at McCabes in Santa Monica, and another great KENNY RANKIN.... Both, were amazing storytellers...
The last time I saw John was a small Concert venue in a hotel in Lisle Illinois. The first half was bad, voice not good. Friends left, said this is terrible. We stayed. His voice was fantastic. Although I has seen him 7 times, he ended with Reason to Rise, one I had asked for at every concert. It was the only time I heard it live. Thanks John..
i love this song. john really sings this with heart and meaning. if anyone out there can upload his armstrong that would be great. theres covers out there but in my opinion they dont match john stewart.
S`funny, but every time I listen to him, I picture him sitting around a camp fire with his buddies somewhere out on the Praries, after a hard day Cattle herding , and singing after the campfire`s gotten low.....
