Disney pretty much bought Star Wars purely for brand recognition, this was never about telling a compelling story. They stripped away the original canon and locked it away behind "Legends" but cherry picked aspects of the lore to shove into these series with no regard for coherence.
Star Wars is nothing more than a brand, a label to em so they can slap the name on merchandise. Not realizing part of the reason people bought OG Star Wars merchandise was because of the rich lore, universe, and depth the stories actually had in the extended universe. Disney never actually cared about the sequel trilogy, they just wanted to shoehorn in a trilogy to justify a new line of product.

While that's all true, there are fans who seem weirdly defensive of the brand itself. Dogshit new movies don't retroactively make the old movies bad, you cannot "ruin" Star Wars if the old stories meant something to you, you can only ruin a brand image.
Also I'm convinced Bob Iger and Kathleen has purposely been making Lucas' legacy characters a joke in favor of their new characters ever since Lucas said selling Star Wars to Disney was like "selling my children to the white slavers" in his 2015 interview with Charlie Rose.
Andor is the weird outlier where it has no Jedi or lightsabers and instead focuses on the normal everyday people and how they're suffering under the rule of the Empire. I almost forget it's Star Wars while watching.

i think the biggest issue is that hate watching has kinda mutated in the modern day, where companies are going out of their way to egg viewers on since it's easier to make them mad then it is to make enjoyable projects

No, they definitely want people to like what they make. It might be easier to make people angry, but believe it or not, a well-liked show/movie makes a lot more money. And it might seem like a crazy concept, but making money is the number one priority.

I’m still trying to figure out if it’s real because in older videos he has called her his wife but she was still referred to as his girlfriend in some videos after that. I hope it’s real but I haven’t heard anything about it except this.
I remember that things in the Star Wars books were different. That being said, not watching the movies, breaking their own lore, their own cannon…. That’s annoying. The reason why Peter Jackson’s lotr was so amazing was that he tried really hard to stick to the cannon. They weren’t 100% but he really tried. Saying you didn’t even try?? That’s the part that really hurts.
This show sums up modern society quite well. Victimizers are victims and the actual victims are not important. Nobody is ever to blame for anything and nobody is ever responsible for their actions.
There should be legal accountability in ruining so many peoples favorite things. the witcher, halo, star wars, every live action adaptation of an anime. These people are nefarious, the writers guild of America is secretly the legion of doom, ruining childhoods one self insert at a time.

People paid millions of dollars won't read/watch the source material is just beyond insane to me. The director of the 4th HP movie did the same thing. He didn't read the 4th book because it was too long, so he changed a bunch of things from the book to the movie that made no sense.
Do you mean the 5th? I feel like the movie followed Goblet of Fire pretty closely. In my defense there was a long gap between me reading the book and seeing the movie. I never made it through Order of the Phoenix, it was too boring.

Please leave the Old Republic out of it.... lol. I've been a fan of that era for quite a while and I DO NOT want Disney looking in that direction because I don't trust them at all. There are both comics and novels aside from the games that add so many established characters and stories from the Old Republic that could make awesome shows/movies if they would only stick with the source material, but they wouldn't... they would ruin it like they always do.

Just a point about some of the stuff he mentions around 11:30 mark, magic and like dark sorcery is a thing that's pretty well established in Star Wars. The main group that uses it is the Night Sisters who are a group of witches which is where Darth Maul comes from and part of the reason he is so powerful

when I first started watching Acolyte the one thing I didn't understand was that Maye or May however you pronounce her name, was demanding people to attack her and then proceeded to fight them when they had nothing to do with her. the first of the 4 Jedis she targeted was Master indara which had no intention of fighting her as she kept dodging Maye's attacks showing she had no intentions nor plans of fighting Maye. another Jedi Was in a state of full on meditation with a force field that she poisoned cuz again she was demanding him to fight her even tho he was in full mediation
