Everything she is saying is reminding me of when I was in a months long psychosis episode. I believed certain people were tied to me, manifesting me, and sending me messages and signals either telepathically or seeing every small detail in my life as a "sign". I believed I could see auras, and that I also had a "spirit team". I would often talk aloud to them and ask them for guidance etc. I even believed I could communicate with entities from other dimensions, astral planes, and alternate realities. I thought the people I had believed to be my "soulmates/soulties" could communicate to me the same way she's explained, and that I would sometimes be under "spiritual warfare" which was whenever someone (an entity or person) was attacking my energy and spirit. In reality, I am just mentally ill lol. Since then i've mostly overcome those obvious DELUSIONS, but still struggle every so often with the intrusive thoughts and paranoia. However I am quite spiritual and I do believe energy can be healing, everything is energy, we are one with the universe type stuff, the level her and I and unfortunately many other people had gotten to with this "spiritual" stuff is in actuality just sad and concerning. It's a really fine line between being just spiritual and being straight delusional, which is extremely easy to trip over. Spirituality can be liberating and freeing, but it is a very personal and tricky journey to go through. Basically I think she just had a crush on this random guy from the internet and her brain has been coating every thought she had about him as a "communication" and a "sign" from him, but obviously quite a bit crazier.

Most signs point to a person's threshold/likelihood to experience is almost entirely genetic/hereditary, and while there are ways for a person to actively make it worse in both the short/long-term for themselves, people of all walks of life, regardless of "strength" can be afflicted.

If you bully someone, they become a victim, get defensive (it's what people do, everyone naturally defends themselves when hurt) and can ignore any valid criticism within the bullying. I’ve had psychotic breaks due to my practice as well. I had to learn to stress “mundane over magic” so that I wouldn’t go back into an episode. Grounding is so important along with other exercises to help with thought processing.

you can only help someone who wants it- if they’re not a danger to themselves or others (and they have to prove they are a danger to be considered one), they can’t be involuntarily admitted for treatment. even if she has people around her who think she should seek help, they could only do so much to help. I’ve spent almost the entirety of my twenty years on this planet being an unpaid therapist for my mom with an alcohol problem, and it is just a constant cycle. until they are ready to change and get better, there is no amount of reasoning, crying, begging, or screaming that you can do. mental health is a crazy thing, and to be a stable “normal” person (mental health wise) is an incredibly under appreciated state of being.

Of Herbs and Alters is in a similar religion and commented that in this type of spirituality there is a belief in bad spirits and tricksters that can pretend to be people in the mundane or 3D or physical world. Apparently there is some spiritual stuff you can do to make the bad spirits go away and you need a therapist for the delusions. She called it spiritual psychosis but psychosis can have a lot of religious features. My conclusion was that doing rituals to protect your energy from being harvested and banishing bad spirits sounds like it would give a placebo boost. Also she was very, very insistent on the psych help and giving more credence to what people say in the real world. I've seen relatives have something similar with Christianity in the belief that people irl were sending demons after them and making them sick. They were ultimately diagnosed with a severe mental illness and their priest was trying to patiently redirect the religious beliefs and ground them in reality. I think the priest got them into the psych ward honestly since we couldn't get through to them. Spiritual Tik Tok needs leaders like that who will drag you to the hospital when you lose it.

Everything she is saying is reminding me of when I was in a months long psychosis episode. I believed certain people were tied to me, manifesting me, and sending me messages and signals either telepathically or seeing every small detail in my life as a "sign". I believed I could see auras, and that I also had a "spirit team". I would often talk aloud to them and ask them for guidance etc. I even believed I could communicate with entities from other dimensions, astral planes, and alternate realities. I thought the people I had believed to be my "soulmates/soulties" could communicate to me the same way she's explained, and that I would sometimes be under "spiritual warfare" which was whenever someone (an entity or person) was attacking my energy and spirit. In reality, I am just mentally ill lol. Since then i've mostly overcome those obvious DELUSIONS, but still struggle every so often with the intrusive thoughts and paranoia. However I am quite spiritual and I do believe energy can be healing, everything is energy, we are one with the universe type stuff, the level her and I and unfortunately many other people had gotten to with this "spiritual" stuff is in actuality just sad and concerning. It's a really fine line between being just spiritual and being straight delusional, which is extremely easy to trip over. Spirituality can be liberating and freeing, but it is a very personal and tricky journey to go through. Basically I think she just had a crush on this random guy from the internet and her brain has been coating every thought she had about him as a "communication" and a "sign" from him, but obviously quite a bit crazier.
Honest question; could you possibly describe what it's like when you had those episodes? Like, it's hard to explain. The concept of things of that nature; psychosis and the genuine believing of illusions of grandeur that you, yourself, 100% believe to be true, but are in reality false. could you possibly describe what that's like? I don't mean for this message to come off as rude or anything negative, obviously I've never experienced something of that nature and I want to try and understand it from an actual person's viewpoint.
As a person who used to be super spiritual (still is tbh) I firmly believe that people like her are experiencing paranoid delusions. As a hoodoo practitioner and someone who is also medicated for my mental illness, listening to her story makes me sad. Despite my spiritual beliefs I understand that there's a such thing as being psychotic and delusional. Ive had similar psychotic breaks and once you come out of them it can be scary. I hope she gets the help she needs so she can find the balance between spirituality and the mundane.
I’ve had psychotic breaks due to my practice as well. I had to learn to stress “mundane over magic” so that I wouldn’t go back into an episode. Grounding is so important along with other exercises to help with thought processing.

you can only help someone who wants it- if they’re not a danger to themselves or others (and they have to prove they are a danger to be considered one), they can’t be involuntarily admitted for treatment. even if she has people around her who think she should seek help, they could only do so much to help. I’ve spent almost the entirety of my twenty years on this planet being an unpaid therapist for my mom with an alcohol problem, and it is just a constant cycle. until they are ready to change and get better, there is no amount of reasoning, crying, begging, or screaming that you can do. mental health is a crazy thing, and to be a stable “normal” person (mental health wise) is an incredibly under appreciated state of being.

I really think a lot of her “delusion” is really just her trying to externalize how obsessed she got with someone she’s never met. She wants someone to blame, so she decided that he was “attacking her in the spiritual realm”. I also think she was trying to justify her desire to spend money on his 1-1s, caused a vicious cycle because he wasn’t continuing the relationship outside of the business dealings.

All for spirituality and how people want to do it, but when you start blaming your issues/emotions on other people in the name of spirituality/energy/whatever that crosses the line into delusion. Unfortunately spiritual delusion is common in these circles and on Tik Tok. It is ignored far too often, and sometimes even encouraged by others in the community. (also I feel like she's low-key a narcissist or something along those lines which is made worse by her delusions and cannot handle rejection, hence the videos)

Of Herbs and Alters is in a similar religion and commented that in this type of spirituality there is a belief in bad spirits and tricksters that can pretend to be people in the mundane or 3D or physical world. Apparently there is some spiritual stuff you can do to make the bad spirits go away and you need a therapist for the delusions. She called it spiritual psychosis but psychosis can have a lot of religious features.
My conclusion was that doing rituals to protect your energy from being harvested and banishing bad spirits sounds like it would give a placebo boost. Also she was very, very insistent on the psych help and giving more credence to what people say in the real world.
I've seen relatives have something similar with Christianity in the belief that people irl were sending demons after them and making them sick. They were ultimately diagnosed with a severe mental illness and their priest was trying to patiently redirect the religious beliefs and ground them in reality. I think the priest got them into the psych ward honestly since we couldn't get through to them. Spiritual Tik Tok needs leaders like that who will drag you to the hospital when you lose it.
Completely. I love religion/spirituality, and encourage it in folks who want it, but you have to have a basis of reality. In my faith, there’s a saying, “Be in the world, but not of it.” Understand your surroundings and educate yourself on reality - science and spiritualism can (and do) coexist
