Jamie’s message that friendships are “built in the nothingness” is exactly the permission I needed to hear. You guys have broken down yet another barrier in my head that was literally built on “should” phrases I didn’t realize were holding me back. Thank you. This is one way I can be a better friend. I think I’m going to call someone tonight 💜

Everyone is a 'sealed unit'. Nothing can be attached to you. The entanglement feeling is your own negative attachment reflected by the outside. Yes we inherit the belief's but the energy associated is our own. We are all sovereign beings, and have the power to utilise divine energy to be free. 🙏

This is the first time I’ve watched your podcast. Holy cow! I totally get this discussion. This is my life at this point. Turning within, feeling the joy, crying, releasing, sharing joy and smiling. It’s totally me!!! Thank you! Much love to all of you for doing such a wonderful beautiful session. Justin thank you for sharing about your trauma and how it effects your body. You have answered my question that I’ve been asking for months. 💜😊

What a raw and wonderful episode! I think you three should make more such episodes where you all share what's on your mind. Chasing happiness, healing, perfectionism or even the constant feeling of having to be there for everyone all the time and never saying no to others . It's so layered and in my opinion is what makes it so complex and interesting. This was a wonderful lesson on how friendship should be. Ahh, i always say i am there for my friends whenever they need me. I viewed that calling my friends randomly would probably not be a good idea because they could be busy or something..excuses that I tell myself to not want to call anyone but hearing 'Make Space for nothing with your friends' unraveled something within. What a beautiful reminder to make space for nothing within us and for people around us too to make sense of everything.
You three should truly do more such episodes and talk about all of your perspectives and asking each other questions like in today's episode and maybe have a theme centred around or even otherwise too. ❤️
Thanks again for making this podcast. I have become a much better human listening to your episodes ❤️

I felt awkward listening to the underlying criticism and need to challenge each other's healing journeys, and Liz revealed in a lovely and timid way what it was all about.
I sensed some boy's pride but hey, it was so very real! It may reflect something about my uncomfortable feelings.
I really hope you can get through more men, I keep sharing your podcast with my circle and clients.
Love your sensitivity Justin, I hope to meet someone as deep and soulful as you one day.

Jamey, Justin, and Liz thank you guys for this podcast. Growing up I went through a lot of Emotional and Physical abuse at the hands of my mother and step-father. Furthermore I went through a case of Sexual abuse from someone outside of the family and didn't feel safe enough to tell anyone. All of that to say is this podcast has really shown me what it means to be man enough. Along with therapy and spirituality this show has really been a source of healing for me. This show is very healing for not only men, but men who are black like myself, men who are in the LGBTQ+ community like myself. Also, I love the fact that you guys include women in the conversation. I'm a fan of this show for LIFE, and I'm also a fan of all of you as people especially you Jamey! Thank You!!!

I recently realized I need to heal and a few months after starting the journey I began that thought of “oh wait now that I’ve noticed these issues in me I can’t date or experience love until I “fix” myself and heal. But that’s so not true. I don’t have to be overdoing it in my mentality to aim for healing.

Sometimes I feel i live in a world where a lot of people are more in a hustle side (i dont judge it, but sometimes i feel that everything its dishonest and it makes me sad).
Im sure you have your hustle side (you are a company and we play the in the capitalistic arena), but I feel that you are really honest and intentional with the ideas that you want to transmit. Even if sometimes i dont agree with some guests o some of the ideas, i really feel the respect and the education so... Thank you. WOW! Nice episode gang!
Watched the doc STUTZ on Netflix yesterday where Jonah Hill digs into the process with his psychiatrist, presenting simple tools vis-a-vis Stutz's simple drawings to illustrate concepts to wade through feelings of inadequacy in the world. Seems to be a good tie in to this episode for anyone looking into therapy in an easily consumed bite of media.
And thank you for broaching the topic of how feelings get trapped in our bodies!!!! I don't even want to call it all trauma-based, but parts of life really that need to be processed out in healthy ways otherwise it turns into injury and disease as Justin described. Maybe you aren't supposed to drop names? but for anyone interested in what he was describing- Peter A Levine "Waking the Tiger", Bessel Van der Kolk "The Body Keeps The Score" and Gabor Maté "The Myth or Normal" are books worth investigating on this end.
Personally, this is what meditation has done for me - I don't sit empty-minded as I thought meditation was *supposed* to be- most times I sit and process feelings each day, let the thoughts pass up and through and out in a constructive way... I feel like my body is a little radiator, dissipating steam through a safety valve. It's been amazing actually and I've only been at it for about 8 months. On a side note- I have a meditation headband that rewards me with birds singing during meditation and it might sound idiotic, but I swear, when I'm out on a walk and hear a chatter of birds my mind now has a Pavlov response, the clouds in my mind instantly part at the sound.

I feel like Justin. I think im done with the inner work... Then BOOM something inside of me requires more. 10 years of trauma therapy, traditional therapy and more... I don't know anyone else who does this much and feels like they need to keep going.
I haven't found a partner who can keep up yet....
I feel like the other 2 were a bit gaslighty, they don't understand this path. We don't know where it leads BUT we can't feel the joy UNLESS we feeeeeel through the pain as often as ot demands. It's not about perfecting the healing journey, its about choosing it ABOVE the other options presented us... It's more important to me than grad school and TikTok and romantic relationships etc...

Follow up question for Jamie as the friend who is always doing the checking up on people. Do you ever feel a way that maybe those people haven’t checked on you?
Something I struggled with during the pandemic was that I was working the front lines nursing and no one checked in on me. The first few months I checked in on friends, but no one ever checked in on me as the pandemic got worse. I felt pretty insignificant and as if my friendship really didn’t mean anything to them.
Any advice for overcoming those feelings?

    • @WeAreManEnough

That's really tough. It's a long, hard process to get to a place where you're so self-assured that you know that you're giving to the world without expectations that it will give back. We're all human and need support as well. Sometimes, you need to come out and tell people that you love and trust that you need them. People assume too often that strong, giving people don't need that, and they're usually wrong.

  • @amjad1_da969
    @amjad1_da969 Рік тому +1

In ancient mythology, the sun dies every day at sunset and goes to the realm of the dead and the underworld and goes through the journey of the soul every day and conquers all the forces of darkness and morning and is born again, the sun proves its dominance over all worlds every day
That’s why , this is what we must learn from the sun, not to hide our radiance and also not to hide our darkness and conquer it, and it is a journey for as long as we are still an animal meat suit walking around we still not figure it out yet

Jordan Peterson and Andrew Tate delve further into creating a healthy mindset while paying attention to where those who want to keep you ignorant hope you are blind to. A false sense of positive hope isn't going to help much, it's like lying to yourself. Gaslighting oneself isn't fair to you.

The doc on netflix "Stutz" that Jonah Hill produced and directed might be of interest - digs into the same X factor of life that JP and Tate address with an approach that is far from pollyanna (do people even use this term still?) but anyways quite rooted in the real world. check it out

@@margaretmulligan1393 I don't subscribe to Netflix....apparently their docuseries are scripted and more sensationalist with only some facts presented. They're not as legit as they appear when they're scripted. I think people like JP and Tate are more relatable than celebs seeking relevancy because they are genuine. Celebs have this bubble around them and know when to run away and hide/disappear and when to appear like magicians. But thanks for recommendation anyway, respect to you.

@@fatu1738 Tate is far from an authority on what a healthy mindset looks like- dude took one too many kicks to the head. I'm all for burning shit down, but Tate is NOT the answer, he's just an abusive asshole. If you want some solid educated critique, go check out Contrapoints on youtube, a better perspective comes from trans people on the sidelines anyhow, they see past hetero shit. You want genuine and educated, she's all that.
I've been watching docs for like 35 years and Netflix are pretty good actually, so not sure how you get that impression. The doc wasn't about Jonah anyways, he's only a conduit to having a conversation with Stutz.
