Sean Glass is a former U.S. Navy SEAL officer, combat leader, and now a leadership instructor with Echelon Front. Sean spent 13 years in the SEAL Teams with three combat deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Eastern Africa. He led five SEAL platoons in Iraq against Islamic State forces during some of the most dynamic and demanding environments where he saw first-hand the power of leadership on the battlefield. Sean returned from Iraq to serve as Officer-in-Charge of training for all West Coast SEAL Teams where he spearheaded the development of leadership training and personally instructed and mentored the next generation of SEAL leaders.
Sean left active duty in 2019 and became the Chief Operating Officer of a successful venture capital backed construction technology startup, where he helped scale the company’s growth and established a highly successful decentralized, team-first culture.
Sean then joined Echelon Front where he serves as a leadership instructor, bringing unique front-line perspective that blends tactical and executive leadership experience from the military and business environments to help build high performance, winning teams that thrive in ambiguous, adverse conditions.

man .. the internet is such a blessing thing that we don't recognize the value of it, you can listen hours to people you like, have Intellectual consensus, learn from them in just a click on a screen. Two centuries ago we have to travel miles and miles to just listen hear, meet, talk to someone. Now it's much easier. I am 18 and I'm learning a lot. Thank you jocko.

I like listening, it boosts my basic thinking and creativity.. Like for instance simulated scenarios,new equipment etc
I could only imagine what the parameters of buds, the recruits and their over Lord commander's punishing them as they were punished an so on, that a group had yet to come together on an earlier stage devised a plan to over throw in a sense the punishers like a group of pows grabbing up the guards essentially becoming the ones putting on the classes n riding out the storm until grad day freeing all the ones captured essentially becoming a well oiled machine from the start. Would be kewl to see.
Excellent interview! Wow he’s squared away and such a great leader! He is also such a great speaker and storyteller. Wish we had more like him in our government instead of the clowns we have now. Love how he admits when he screwed up instead of blaming anyone else and then fixed it. I’m going to order some beef 🥩 from him this week and try it out.
I’ve had a tough time sleeping since coming home especially falling asleep. It’s crazy but listening to Jocko’s voice every night when I lay down always calms and relaxes me to fall asleep. Every night I fall asleep watching Jocko and I wake up to watching him.

I’m a 26 year old Combat Medic Army vet from Chicago with hopes of getting out of this awful city and move to be where I’ve always belonged in Texas. Hearing him talk about doing a summer as a ranch hand really makes me want to do it. I’m a city kid, no doubt about it, but I’m a blue collar city kid. I’m not afraid of hard work and when I make my dream move to Texas I’d love to earn my right to be a Texan by doing something like this. Anybody with experience have any guidance for me?

I'm late to the game and aware that this might not be the place for questions, but I am extremely curious about whether or not SERE training works and if it is something that one can get better at. My only experience of it is through movies, etc. and it is invariably portrayed in a way that simply looks like masochistic chaos.
Would be a great question to direct towards @GarandThumb too. He spent the end of his career in the USAF as a SERE instructor.
