According to Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, "All Out Life" was written as "a rallying cry for everyone ... about all of us getting together and saying, 'You know what. Let's not talk about old. Let's not talk about new. Let's talk about what is. Let's talk about what's good, what's real, and get behind that and start embracing things that matter because there's history there and not just because it's the next best thing."[4] Taylor also provided the following additional background to the composition of the song: "All Out Life" is a song that is trying to do two things: bring everyone together, but also remind everyone that the past is not something to be discarded with disdain. People are so eager to find the next big thing sometimes that they shit all over the bands and artists that have come before, thus making the past feel disposable, like a dirty thing. Fuck that: Why should we pay attention to your mediocre future when you can't be bothered to celebrate an amazing past? I'd rather listen to a guaranteed hit than a forced miss. "All Out Life" is the anthem that reminds people that it's not the date on the music - it's the staying power.
Lol I typed a whole paragraph about what I remembered from that interview before I saw yours. I was close but I totally should have just scrolled down and read this.
"All Out Life" was dropped as a gift to fans on Halloween 2018, almost a year before WANYK was released. It's only official release to my knowledge is as a bonus track on Japanese versions in of the album and as a digital single.
Hey guys, Jay Weinberg was just named Drumeo's metal drummer of the year for 2021. In honor of that, you should watch the drum cam video of chapeltown rag live.
THIS SONG GOT ME SO HYPED FOR WANYK, it was like lighting the fire for new music. I’m glad you two enjoyed this, and all the kids in the masks were actual maggots that were chosen by Slipknot to be in the video shoot
I know it's a very small point in the song, but the ride cymbal back to the high-hat intensified that second verse to an all new level. What a transition.
The only thing you can pull up that's pre-Corey is Mate Feed Kill Repeat, which is just a demo, because all of the tracks from it they rerecorded and polished up between the self titled and Iowa.
Awesome choice! The music video I think you were thinking of was Duality from the Vol. 3 album. Slipknot has said before that they have a every symbiotic relationship with their fans. Especially during live shows cause they are feeding off the energy of the crowd and we're feeding off the energy from their music! I think that's why Slipknot shows get so nuts. Love the reaction guys keep it up.
This was the hype track before they released WANYK. Yes it was a bit like "Duality" where they had fans show up to shoot a video, but I believe it was just Clown directing it as usual, and there was no music from what I recall. They just told the fans to go nuts. If that aint some weird shit to see you in a video later on going nuts to a song you haven't heard before and it's looks perfectly normal. You should def deep dive to the lyrics again. A lot of it is about the music industry and it's lamb to the slaughter mentality "New does not mean best" and also to walk your own path.
They gave away those outfits and masks when this song came out, AJ Good is major Slipknot fan who has a UA-cam channel (The House of Masks) if ya want to see his mask collection, which he has every mask used and have been used in Slipknot by all memebers past and present, even oddball ones only used maybe once or seen in videos.
NXT used this song to promote themselves and a ppv if im correct, they even recorded a video with the wrestlers and its both awesome and funny lol, you should check that one guys
I fucking love this song! I should, considering NXT used it as their theme song for 2 years! Also, the reason this video looked so familiar is because it's supposed to take place after "The Devil in I" video. That's why there was so much blood in that abandoned building at the beginning.
I feel like considering at the time, we only had the gray chapter to go off of, this song really cemented what Jay could do. Just destroying everything as the band as a whole try to make a statement about music and how, just like corey says, old doesn't mean dead and new doesn't mean best. I get the image of them saying to not disregard the past in favor of the new, but rather focus on the best music of any era and acknowledge the greatness of what you like rather than what's popular. Listen to what you want (and the song could be applied to actions in life in general) and if people don't like it, acknowledge that you are not like them and never had to be like them. And fun wrestling fact about this song, it was used in wwe for a few years for nxt, a brand run by triple h. They even used unsainted for one of nxt's special events. Really brought the energy to the shows and corey being a fan of wrestling definitely helps.
It’s so sad that NXT moved away from this song, this shit is a great intro for any wrestling show. Makes ya wonder why WWE canned it, probably for the whole NXT 2.0 relaunch and changing their aesthetic in general. Another reason why I prefer AEW, the music is superior and they lean towards heavy metal and hard rock. Also, the licensed themes like Where is My Mind and Wild Thing are great. Most new themes sound generic af in WWE.
hollywood 6ic "wtf just happened" me quoting the WAAF interview with corey taylor: "slipknot happened", if you know you know :P also if you want pre-pre corey, stone sour i cant believe 1994 demo
All Those People dressed up are actual fans. I remember when Slipknot announced the Music Video!! I put in to be one of them, but I didn't hear about it until it was too late
I remember when this came out. I played the shit out of this song lol. If I had to pick another song to react to it would have to be Gematria ( The Killing Name) or Three Nil is a very close second. Great reaction fellas🤘
Idk if you guys read these comments but I would just like to say you guys are my favorite reactors on youtube. I am disabled and get very depressed but I can always go watch y'alls videos and it takes me out of those dark places. I'm not lying when I say you have probably saved my life more than once. Because I am disabled I don't make enough money to join Patreon or can't afford the pay to play method. So I will try to pay for a request with my words and love. I have been trying so hard to get my favorite band reacted to. The Name of the Band is Dog Fashion Disco. You two in my opinion are the two most open minded reactors on youtube and I would love to see my favorite reactors react to my favorite band. I think you would love them. They are like a mix of System of a Down mixed with Faith No More. They are so original blending so many genres with metal. So I am humbly begging to please react to them for me. I know a lot of people have to ask for requests constantly but I'm hoping me taking the time to write this really means something and you guys take it to heart. Dog Fashion Disco have been fucking rocking for over 20 years. They were loved by SOAD so much that theybtried to start a label just to sign them but Rotten Records would not let Dog Fashion Disco out of their contract so all that came from that was Serj doing a free feature for them on a song called Mushroom Cult. But now Dog Fashion Disco has a new album that is soon to be released and have already released a single and video from that upcoming album called Grand Experiment. It is a mix of surf music, 1950"s horror sounds, metal, and even equipped with a rockabilly solo. Please guys do this one for me. I'll leave the link to the video at the bottom. Thank you for always pulling me out of dark places with your upbeat content. Whether you do my request or not I will continue to watch. If you read all of this I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Fingers crossed I get to see the reaction. Love you guys. ua-cam.com/video/BrXEmDziQ6E/v-deo.html
Its was recorded same time as .5 but dint make the album. The only reason its not on WANYK is coz Chris would have got royalty’s from it. Corey made up some story about it being a stand alone song that dint fit in with the new album
I think this song was about the public always needing something new. CT said there are so many great songs out there but they're just forgotten and tossed aside because they were last week. Lol I see a few ways the song fits that, but mostly I think it because that's what he said in a conversation about this song Btw my personal take is the song is saying give it your all. Don't sellout. Don't just go all out sometimes. Go all out in life! And if you think about it that kinda fits the song thing- artists are just throwing a bunch of junk out and it's good because it's new. Not because it's actually anything special. You're just following the masses and diminishing your self
Just found you guys, this series is sick! Do yourself a favour and check out disasterpiece, either the album version or the 2002 live in London one! Most badass song ever!
HERETIC ANTHEM you want an anthem for slipknot. well, this song is it. it's from the second album and by god is it heavy. Also surfacing if you want young, angry in your face slipknot.
U were talking ..Duality .. u guys ever listen to .. the pretty reckless .. in this moment ..who r doing the first leg of this year's tours ..piss me off as Toronto gets the 2nd leg .. or .. hailstorm .. my 3 favorite ladies of rock Taylor Munson .Maria Brink and Lizzy Hail .. or even Apocalyptica featuring Cory Taylor or Brent Smith from Shinedown . Or the dudes from either ..3 days grace .. or bush .. ☮️
Great reaction boys!!! Gotta get some of Joey's last album with slipknot and Paul's last album before he passed All Hope Is Gone. Probably their heaviest album in my opinion. U should react next Saturday to Gematria The Killing Name. Joey goes ham on this one
Stevie Ray always used a slapjack. Booker T would finish with a scissor kick, but if HH had to cheat to win usually Stevie Ray whipped out the slapjack
If you want a “Blade vampire EDM” scene feeling, then you should check out “Question Your Place” by Engel. They actually recreate that scene in the video
REACT TO TALLAH! If slipknot, mudvayne, korn, limp bizkit, and slayer had a baby, it'd be TALLAH. I reccomend the songs OVERCONFIDENCE, PLACENTA, WE THE SAD, or MURDER SEED. So Badass. Also, off this album, A LIAR'S FUNERAL is my favorite besides SPIDERS.
I know this is an older video but I think you guys should look at a band called I Prevail. They are a newer band but are absolutely amazing!!! Just a thought, I think that you guys would like them alot
Metabolic, surfacing and heretic anthem. Preferably the live versions from download 2009. Should react to every song from download 2009. Such an amazing concert.

I got a (official?) 7“ Vinyl single.
Or 10“?!? Have to search for the record...
7“ and „Unsainted“ is on the other side. Limited Picture Disc

This was so hype when it came out
This song hit so hard when I saw them last year!
If you guys are wrestling fans, this song was the theme song for WWE’s developmental show NXT for a year or two
THIS SONG GOT ME SO HYPED FOR WANYK, it was like lighting the fire for new music. I’m glad you two enjoyed this, and all the kids in the masks were actual maggots that were chosen by Slipknot to be in the video shoot

This official video definitely looked fun as hell to record
Guys , check out Stonesour , Absolute Zero. Corey is the lead singer of that band too
I love that song!!
This songs about Hollywood and the music industry from what I’ve been told
great song.. slipknot starts to grow on me..
Awesome choice! The music video I think you were thinking of was Duality from the Vol. 3 album. Slipknot has said before that they have a every symbiotic relationship with their fans. Insane asylum on a field trip. Funny as hell.
This song is a favorite. Wish I could have been one of those lucky fans to be a part of this video.
NXT used this song to promote themselves and a ppv if im correct, they even recorded a video with the wrestlers and its both awesome and funny lol, you should check that one guys
Since Smokey likes Blade, you've got to react to Bring Me the Horizon Die 4U. It's only been out a few months and it is a mini blade movie.
Slipknot- Surfacing
PREACH SMOKEY
I thought of Blade during the video. I loved those movies and didn’t even know there were more than three.
it was a teaser song for we are not your kind my favourite song from we are not your kind Nero forte
One of my favorite WWE/NXT Intros
Not sure if you’ve done them but Lech and Sarcastrophe off Grey Chapter are bangers!!
I fucking love this song! I should, considering NXT used it as their theme song for 2 years! Also, the reason this video looked so familiar is because it's supposed to take place after "The Devil in I" video. That's why there was so much blood in that abandoned building at the beginning.
It is like initaitng the new maggots! :D
I believe everyone rolling around on the ground in white is supposed to represent them being "Maggots"
Smokey, tell 'em brother minister!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
#rappersreact #trashtalkersutd #maggots4life #wanyk
The Harlem Hangover was the tag finisher
the breakdown is so fuckin hard
Duality is the video you were thinking of.
I was really disappointed that this track wasn't on the We Are Not Your Kind album.
I hope you guys check out 'Eeyore' (studio recording) by Slipknot.
I needed this for leg day today
🤣🤣🤣
Love them 💕 much love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕
Just to bring this up Blade had three movies with Wesley Snipes, tv series with Kirk sticky Jones and an animated series 🙏

Ur thinking about the video for duality

Was waiting for Smokey to recognize it since he’s a big wrestling fan. And old NXT is on par with AEW to me. Both great wrestling shows.

You were thinking of Duality by them
To me All Out Life is an anthem for how to live your life. Old does not be dead. New does not mean best.
Can we acknowledge how epic the Zelda hat is? 😂
Man you guys need to check out Surfacing from the red jumpsuit album
Its was recorded same time as .5 but dint make the album. The only reason its not on WANYK is coz Chris would have got royalty’s from it. Corey made up some story about it being a stand alone song that dint fit in with the new album

They released it outwith and ahead of the album as a rallying call. Clown 🤡 directs their videos.
My next suggestion is Deftones - Beware.
Found your channel cuz of them and seen u not reacting to this one yet so have fun.
You should listen to A liars funeral from slipknot it's off the same album as this
Just found you guys, this series is sick! Do yourself a favour and check out disasterpiece, either the album version or the 2002 live in London one! Most badass song ever!
The house party song is called Duality (:
HERETIC ANTHEM you want an anthem for slipknot. well, this song is it. it's from the second album and by god is it heavy. Also surfacing if you want young, angry in your face slipknot.
I can't believe they haven't done staples like The Heretic Anthem and Surfacing yet.
