A similar situation happened to me when I was 15. I worked at taco bell and while I was on my break a customer offered me a job at the dollar store for almost $2 per hour more. I had to look after my investments.
So you wanna become a ruthless drug dealer who murders and intimidates and causes great detriment to society and has no limits for the sake of money.... So sad that this money actually inspired alot of people to want to become like this. I actually know people personally who used to idolise "Tony Montana" and grew up to be involved in gangs and end up dead after doing alot of evil things. It doesn't take balls to become a ruthless animal but it does to become a righteous decent human being. Fuck Tony Montana, people like him are the sewage of society.
Ethan Ward so being a "righteous decent human being" is being a corny fucking idiot who works in a cubicle 10 hours a day everyday to pay bills for a house they barely live inside? and then retire at age 70 and buy a mercedes or a small boat? wtf? i dont wanna be a criminal and most are pieces of shit, but i admire anyone that goes against the 'normal joe life' to become dead rich. its inspiring. explain to me how Tony's a piece of shit? did he kill any innocent people? no, he killed only those involved in the life. he peddled drugs onto to the streets but its not his fault that junkie motherfuckers keep buying it. go back and watch the scene where he refuses to blow up a mother and her kids just because his real target was in the car, he definitely has some morals. and the "bad guy" speech speaks volumes too.
FunnyVideoMaker77 wow, so gracious of him not to blow a car with an innocent woman and her children in it, he should be given a nobel peace prize. that is other than the fact that he was ok with killing a journalist who was gonna expose the drug lord. I really think you should reexamine your "morals". If Tony Montana was in front of me and I had a weapon I would should him right between the eyes without even thinking for a millisecond.
Ethan Ward I was using that scene as an example that he has some morals, dipshit. You still haven't explained what he did that makes him so bad. Peddling drugs isn't one, I already explained why. Killing other scumbags isn't one either. Abusing his wife is the only one I could think of.

Beautiful Scarface analysis: After watching the movie a million times, I realized what Tony's issue really is, it's so hidden but obvious, and this movie is so much more deep then many people realize. I'm gonna type a lot because there's a lot to it. Okay first of all, the main character and most important character of this movie is not even in the movie at all: Tony's father. It took me a while to catch on to this. When you realize this, you will see that everything Tony does is based upon his intense hatred, but need for his father. The phrase "the world is yours" is symbolic of a fantasy world that Tony created in his head because he feels so empty and powerless. It's a mental world he literally escapes to in his own mind. No one else really understands or sees this, except manny in the end. Tony will bow down to no man, especially if he won't for his father. So it's not a sexual desire for his sister, it's the fact that everything and everyone that's in his life is his PROPERTY. The world he created is his. As Tony said in regards to what's coming to him, "the world, chico.. And EVERYTHING in it". He meant that wholeheartedly. The reason he slapped Gina when she said she'll fuck who she wants is because in his mind, his "property is getting out of line and betraying me". Tony sees any other man as a threat to his property and taking his place as the most prominent figure. Tony will not come second place to no man because it's almost like his father has won. That's the reason he killed his own friend (manny) but later felt bad because he had snapped out of his world and back into reality. If you pay close attention, Frank represents the father and in such a way, Frank almost tries to take on that fatherly role, which is why Tony got extreme gratification and pleasure from killing Frank when Frank betrayed him by hiring people to kill Tony, as Tony's father had betrayed Tony by abandoning him. Those feelings were sparked. So when Tony had Frank's life in his hands, he finally felt in power of his father for the first time. Also, you will realize that anyone who "belongs" to Tony's father or Frank, such as Tony's mother and Elvira, is not Tony's property and this makes Tony feel powerless and beneath his father (because he wants to be above his father so badly). In the end, Tony realizes he can not control his mother or Elvira.... At all, and he almost cowardly avoids to do so. Tony's world is a cowardly escape from confronting his feelings about his father. Tony's father is only mentioned a couple times in the movie but the whole movie and almost every little detail is influenced by the father. This is also why Tony felt no need to explain himself to Sosa or anyone else. Also, when Tony kills manny, he feels bad because he then realizes that manny was the only one who filled that void his father left in him. Manny was the only one who had the qualifying characteristics to do so: A Brother. Because Tony's father is everything and nothing at all to him. It's very sad.
Additional analysis for those interested: I'm not focusing on the individual scenes itself, I'm focusing on The BIGGER picture. Him taking drugs only gave that much more of a reality to his fantasy world. That's WHY he took the drugs. He even became too much of a coward to be sober and face his own inner issues. Yes, He killed frank because frank tried to kill him, okay yes, obviously, BUT he got extreme pleasure as u can see in his eyes because he felt in power over frank, and therefore, subconsciously, felt power over his father. Frank reminded Tony of Tony's father. Frank did the same thing as Tony's father, taking on the fatherly role but then betraying Tony. Frank tried to teach Tony things like a father figure, to "fly straight", then he turned on Tony. This reminded him of his father which made it that much easier for Tony to kill frank and punk him out and take his lady. And yes, Tony told manny that gina is not for him, implying that Gina belongs to Tony. Everything in Tony's life "belongs" to him he feels. When he says the world is his, he's not talking about the actual world, but his own that he created in his head. He needs to feel in power and the top dog among anything and anyone who comes into his life. I'm not looking at the little obvious pieces that people are pointing out, I'm looking at the DEEPER, bigger picture, and the point of the movie itself. His hatred for his father is his drive for all that he does and the way that he thinks. His hatred is so strong that he died because of it. He said to Gina "forget papa, we never had one" (hatred). He will bow down to no one even if his life depend on it. Look at the way Tony looks at, interacts with, and senses emotions in men. Tony is constantly preying and plotting on how to dominate every male he encounters. When a man has no respect for their father, (who should be the top man in every son's life) then who will he respect? No one. So it's not incest feelings for gina. I thought it was until i kept watching the movie. I had to watch it like 30 times until i was like wait a minute....... I get Tony's issues now, and the root of his issues.... His father. This movie is so deep, it's not only just telling a series of events like people think. It's really emphasizing the importance of the role of a father in all of the events. That's why Tony only ever got very offended when Elvira compared him to Frank (Tony's symbolic father) or talked about how Tony wouldn't be a good father or husband (as Tony's father was a father and husband). This made Tony feel not as good as his father because he didn't achieve what his father had achieved.
Fun fact: In the video game, you can meet the daughter of the restaurant owner. She is just a minor character, a generic pedestrian. She will sometimes say that Tony looks like the dishwasher that worked in her father's restaurant.
Anyone else catch the driver telling Omar “Give him to the Colombians” right after Tony was saying he’ll kick his ass. Crazy proves that Omar did set up Tony.
Movies this smart and unorthodox get shit on. It is what it is. Same with hip hop. It was simply too raw and ahead of the curve for most critics. It wasn't your typical White guy film.
Learn from Montana and never act like whoever your boss is is doing you a favor by giving you a job, you do shit for him and he's paying you for that, so it's not a favor, I never took shit from your boss and I don't allow him to boss me, I'm the boss of me.
I see your point and it sounds bad ass but in reality with that kind of attitude I can only imagine it's going to be extremely hard to even get employed than it is now or get a promoted if you somehow do get one
thedarkknight646 A boss is not a mentor. If you have a boss, you're most likely working a job you don't like. If you have a mentor, that means you care about everything he/she tells you or advises you on.
CooManTunes you missed my point you're going to have to put up with some type of superior at some point in your life and you can't always give them the finger because some of them may have enough power to fuck you for life. Like a cop for example he can't give the administrator the finger just because he disagrees with him or try to out him because he's crooked because he knows that administrator has enough power and connections to ruin his career and make sure he'll never find a job again and just like ex cons ironically nobody likes hiring former cops either so they're fucked for life. That's just one example
it is really good you gonna love it if you're fan of gta series go check it out youtube scarface walkthrough from old ps2 game its still on youtube it might give you more taste even ifs ps2 graphic but good game in end of game you survive like they made it what if he kills all of them survives it is amazing game
I never realized the significance of him not liking Columbians or why they would have that in the movie until finding out a lot of the heavy violence in Miami in the early 80s was from a prolonged battle between Cuban and Columbians dealers.
Interesting little subtext that adds a little more flavor. Another interesting point I think, is Tony's downfall. Whenever he did things brutally, he got ahead. But when he finally has a moment of moral virtue, insofar as his unwillingness to kill an innocent wife and child, he signals his own demise. In other words, if you want to stay on top, you have to be willing to kill anyone. He was willing to kill his best friend for marrying his sister, but not "civilians". Although, it was Manny who suggested switching money-launderers, which got Tony pinched in the first place, so I could understand if Tony was a little pissed about that.
I've seen this movie easily 100 times, but watching this movie in hd was fucking mind blowing. I can't even imagine blu ray or whatever the highest quality is
Jersey John re using dishes is cheaper than throwing away disposable and this looks like a cheap ass restaurant to me. And tony was involved in crime in cuba as well as the army so im positive he was making more money
Omar: “What's with this dishwasher, chico? Don't he think we could've got some other space cadet to hit Rebenga cheaper, too? Fifty bucks.” Lol I quote this line a lot, especially when vendors are asking too much for their services.
actually it was in 1984 and he won the golden statue in 1985 academy awards ceremony, and many call him omar but his name is F.Murray ABRAHAM and his performance in AMADEUS is among some of the best performances ever put on screen, if it's not the best of all time
Love the movie, had the game it was good too. The soundtrack in the game was spot on and the song in the background of this scene was added to the game on everytime Tony steps into a diner or restaurant and when i hear it it comes back to this particular scene and the so called Dishwasher Man quote. LOL!!!
Tony Montana was working a thankless job as a dishwasher. I worked as one, in a few restaurants and a retirement home. They are never given the credit they deserve during quarterly meetings. It's a cook. A Waiter. A personal care attendant or something.
notice that as it cuts away from him throwing the gown, the hit on the hat was done by a camera man. it is not tony hitting him. it cuts away so it could hit his hat without hurting the guy.

This made Tony feel not as good as his father because he didn't achieve what his father had achieved.
you must be really high

the whole cast of this movie is perfect. i’ve been obsessed for a while now.
Manny is cool while tony runs hot
Without Tony' s balls Manny wouldn't get much money .. but he would be alive.
Tony Montana you’re from uk?
Don't stay too fucking long man we gotta lot of work to do
That passion in Tony's eyes is what changes worlds.
The ultimate how to quit your job when you finally feel set for life right here.
Brilliant acting. F murray was only a small role but he was brilliant.
Pacino is an acting genius. slick mike corleone in 1 movie and tony in another? raw genius!
Legend has it there is still a lotta dishes to be washed to this day..
“Go pay bring it back Yea” 🤣 manny makes it sound so easy
Peeca cake!
It would have been this easy.. if they weren't Colombians.
It would have been awesome, if the whole movie revolved around Tony working at the food stand and his daily activities there....

i never noticed manny slaps Tony at 1:22 and Tony is so angry he doesn't even feel it.
"¡Pobrecito!"
Fun fact: In the video game, you can meet the daughter of the restaurant owner. She is just a minor character, a generic pedestrian. She will sometimes say that Tony looks like the dishwasher that worked in her father's restaurant.
The game was truly amazing and underrated

Anyone else catch the driver telling Omar
“Give him to the Colombians” right after Tony was saying he’ll kick his ass. Crazy proves that Omar did set up Tony.
Love Omar's opening word of the convo:
"Igotsomethingforyou."
13 people didn't like this scene? Ih Pobreciiiitos. You worry to much. You're gonna have a hearth attack.
"Space cadet" and then "dishwasher". Omar knows how to insult but the last laugh is on him!
Nice Cadillac, made in the days when they still made a quality luxury liner.
"THEY" meaning the DETROIT AUTO WORKERS? Yes. True.
oh god Miami in that time was so awsome
Scarface is one of the best movies ever made. It's a shame is got a razzie nomination. So undeserved. Scarface is pure gangster movie gold.
Movies this smart and unorthodox get shit on. It is what it is. Same with hip hop. It was simply too raw and ahead of the curve for most critics. It wasn't your typical White guy film.
It's the gold standard for gangster films
@@tochiRTA facts, critics stay sleeping on Scarface
quit the job like a boss LMAO
Manny and Tony should have stayed on until the restaurant owner could have found replacement help. That would have been the classy thing to have done.

Learn from Montana and never act like whoever your boss is is doing you a favor by giving you a job, you do shit for him and he's paying you for that, so it's not a favor, I never took shit from your boss and I don't allow him to boss me, I'm the boss of me.
The boss is doing himself a favor by giving you a job

Tony Montana rolf you know there is a pc port right?
TeCh ExPlOiTs Not everyone got a PC mang
KarateCaveman yes I know but psx2 is a pc emulator so I’m just letting him or her know that there is a native port for pc that runs much better

And to think this movie wouldn’t have happened if Omar just got some other space cadet to hit Rebenga
"I scared..."
This movie does such a good job of making the bad guys look creepy and coked out

1980. Miami, they call it Little Havana and only one man in a million...was hungry enough to pay
Omar: “What's with this dishwasher, chico? Don't he think we could've got some other space cadet to hit Rebenga cheaper, too? Fifty bucks.” Lol I quote this line a lot, especially when vendors are asking too much for their services.
Omar also played the role of "Salieri" in the 1981 Oscar-winning film Amadeus.
More recently, Homeland and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
actually it was in 1984 and he won the golden statue in 1985 academy awards ceremony, and many call him omar but his name is F.Murray ABRAHAM and his performance in AMADEUS is among some of the best performances ever put on screen, if it's not the best of all time
JWPetros and he was shot by Jack Slater lol
Who do you think we are baggage handlers. LOL HA HA
1:15 love the come back
His white voice comes out when he says I gotta look after my investment 🤣
Love the movie, had the game it was good too. The soundtrack in the game was spot on and the song in the background of this scene was added to the game on everytime Tony steps into a diner or restaurant and when i hear it it comes back to this particular scene and the so called Dishwasher Man quote. LOL!!!
Who do you think we are, baggage handlers? 😂
I love this movie never gets old
How many of us have had jobs we wanted to walk out on like that? "I retire" is bad ass. 👍
Tony Montana was working a thankless job as a dishwasher. I worked as one, in a few restaurants and a retirement home. They are never given the credit they deserve during quarterly meetings. It's a cook. A Waiter. A personal care attendant or something.
i remember being a dishwasher at a few restaurants smh i felt like doing that to my boss at almost all of the places i worked at lol 😂;
The restaraunt manager was running up Tonys stairs at the mansion at the end with a Mac-10 " Hey! Remember me vendejo!! "
You forgot the dishes vendejo!!!!
Anyone in 2024?
This is more of a comedy. Haha That chef though!
notice that as it cuts away from him throwing the gown, the hit on the hat was done by a camera man. it is not tony hitting him. it cuts away so it could hit his hat without hurting the guy.
Love how he bounces around fuming in anger!
