Thanks so much for the video, I have ML320- 2003 Sport Edition and do not hear any noise from bottom of my sits, however I know now if I do then what to look for.
I seem to only have creaking noises which i suspect to be suspension upon acceleration and braking. Could it be the torsion bar? Either way I'm going to replace these :P

Were you listening any noise when making turns? like a metal on metal noise ? I think you might have helped me find the origin of an anoying noise
Yes sir, 100% it's the metal on metal creaking noise that got into this job. Fairly easy job and well worth it because it makes the suspension quite again. Good luck!
Hi, I have a 350 w164 that has the same annoying creaking noise. But when searching for the torsion bar bushing, I can only see a listing for the earlier W163. Any ideas where I can source the bushes for my 2010 W164 I’ll be honest, I haven’t looked under the car to see if it’s even the same set up. Away with work atm.
@@gasNgears Very much appreciated for your quick reply. I actually have a brand new assembled pair of front struts to fit as I had an advisory last MOT So hopefully that cures the creaking as it’s one of those embarrassing noises when trying to park. Thanks again
I have a 2013 ml350 4matic no air ride suspension. I replaced shocks, struts, coil springs, CV axles, wheel bearing but still get a rough ride and front of car slants lower than rear. Also I sometimes hear a metal to metal noise on turns and creaking. MB nor anyone else can't determine issue. Any ideas?? I can't find any info for torsion bar part for my car.
@stephaniec2260 fairly certain that ML second generation (2007) and onwards do not have the torsion bars as they started making newer models unibody instead of body on frame like mine. Makes me wonder if your suv was ever in an accident! Or hit a crazy pothole that might have bent a control arm that is giving you all this trouble. But then again, I haven't seen it, so it's just a speculation. Suspension is a very finicky component, and minor change or alteration like that might go unnoticed, but under stress or turning, it would cause issues. Hope your issue gets sorted soon.
I used a generic auto glue called GOOP. Here's the link for it www.amazon.com/Amazing-GOOP-160012-Automotive-Adhesive/dp/B000CCID28 Hope it helps. Cheers
@mcsirias 2002 is a first-generation face-lift. That does not have rear torsion bars. It only has two torsion bushings, and they are super easy to replace. P
OMG, thank you for this video. I have good suspension but was still hearing unbelievable creaking. Now i know where to look.
Thanks for that it was very helpful I've got a w163 ml320 and absolutely love it .
Thanks for the lessons
You're welcome bud.

Hi @allanbarbour2879, W163 is a body on frame and has torsion bars, I am fairly certain W164 being a unibody uses struts instead.

@@gasNgears much appreciated.
Is there a website to buy these parts?
www.rockauto.com has it
Torsion Bar Unloading Tool
@@gasNgears Does it have a name or number for the piece?
2 front and 2 rear??
No bud, there's only two torsion bars and they are at the front so only need two. One per side. Cheers
@@gasNgears Oh my God, my mechanic told me that there were 2 in the back, on each side and in the front on each side...
@mcsirias is your Ml a first generation ( W163) or the second generation? I have never heard of rear torsion bar bushings on the W163 before bud.
@@gasNgears it is second generation, ML 320 2002
