Troy and Ashley are both in this trailer too! Looks like Troy is playing David’s second in command James, and Ashley is playing Ellie’s mother, which is about the most perfectly poetic role she could have been given, because *how could Anna have been anyone else*?
Thank you!!! I kept going back going "Was that Ashley?!"
I had to watch a few times to find Ashley. Then I was like “Oh of course.”
Wait, are you telling me these series is only one season? Huh.
Jeffrey Pierce (Tommy from the game) and Merle Dandridge (Marlene from the game) will also be in it. Jeffrey is playing a rebel and Merle is playing Marlene.
@@JohnnyZenith the show will focus on the first game so yes the first season is the first complete game come to life
For those who have played part 2 the song choice in the trailer was very deliberate. Just makes me confirm they know what they are doing
Lol everyone’s like “oh this is gonna be really good but really sad show.”
TLOU2: Wanna see something real fucked up?
Side note: I just realized this show could build a better arc from part into part 2 than the game if they make us care for the doctor and abbey more before Joel handles business.
The guy that has written the story of both games works with them of course they know
VERY deliberate. I’m rooting for this show
@@Killerpeanut Why would we need to care for the doctor? I've never understood that logic. Abby is basically a traumatized girl trying to get revenge for her beloved father. Same with Ellie. No need to make Abby or her father more likeable. Just normal people getting fucked over and then fucking others over.
@@X5J2UY what I’m getting at is they can improve on it more. Spend more scenes with the doctor and Abby make it more emotional for what Joel does and how selfish it can feel. Really dig into the gray. That’s what TLOU2 set out to do.
BTW, I just read that Troy Baker (the voice of Joel) plays one of David's men (the cannibals) in the show, and Ashley Johnson (the voice of Ellie) plays Ellie's mom in the show (she's in trailer shot where she gives birth to Ellie).
Honestly, what a great way to have the original voices be a part of this in some way.
Troy is in the trailer too. He shows up in a blink and you'll miss it moment when they show David and his crew. Pause around 4:03 in this video and you'll see him to the left
Ashley giving birth to Ellie is *muah* perfecto.
I literally screamed over this trailer as soon as I realized there was dialogue and actual character moments. I also got emotional when I saw Henry and Sam.
Yeah when Henry and Sam hugged it gut punched me, it was amazing to see Ashley and Troy in there too and i bet they do fantastic in the show!
I was sold when Bella imitated a clicker. To me that feels like something Ellie would actually do at that age. It made me well up bc I knew if they can sell me on improv/uncharted scenes then the big scenes are gonna be light work for them. I’m 1000% sold. Joel and Ellie were the first 2 funko pops I ever bought. After this trailer I put them in hard stacks lol.
How small Sam is, it's going to be hard to watch 😭😭😭
If I had a nickel for every time Pedro Pascal has been in a show where he sees a child as cargo but grows to love them as a father, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's strange it's happened twice
Three times. WW 84. He has a thing about fatherhood
2023 is gonna be the year of Pedro Pascal protecting children. This in January and Mando S3 premieres March 1st!
this little quote was perfect here 😌
Sam looks even younger in the trailer, they're going to break my heart all over again :(
He’s so little. 😭Idk if my heart can take this
Pedro Pascal is adopting so many kids he might as well be batman.
To me, Pedro's voice reminded me of Nathan Fillion's voice as Mal in Firefly.
Sam and Henry gonna kill me again... I am not ready
And that ellie faking being a clicker scene is something I can see ellie doing in the game
So cool seeing Troy baker and Ashley Johnson in this trailer!!
Not only a Horizon series, but a God of War one as well if the rumors are true.
you guys are my comfort channel! whenever i’m not feeling the best, i always come to watch your videos. keep it up, you’re making tons of people happy :)
X2!
This has all the potential to be greater than the walking dead
The trailer is better than Walking Dead. At least the last several seasons. I liked everything up until when they beat Neagan.
Walking dead will forever be better but it will be good at least
@@Spiky-gs3eg no it won’t. It’s not even comparable. The last of us is miles better
@@justbeyondmythoughts So much better. Even comparing them should be a crime.
@@justbeyondmythoughts I don’t really see the point of comparing, they are vastly different from each other..
I am also scared for this show!! Not because of the zombies, but because of how sad it's gonna be! I'm not sure I'm ready to take on that level of a sad show, but I also know this is going to be incredible
They really showed Sarah and Riley back to back. 😢
This is gonna be the show that TRULY breaks the video game adaptation curse. Getting the original game director and creator Neil Druckman, and Chernobyl show runner Craig Mazin as show runners is already amazing but I still just can’t believe that we are getting the The Last Of Us adaptation I have always dreamed of.
For god’s sake, they made the Bloaters not only look just like in the games but they made them even SCARIER!
There are several moments from that game that stick in your mind. I'm envisioning lots of tears in the first episode (you know why) and the story of the brothers.
The real questions....
- Will they get to the Firefly Lab in season 1?
- Will there be a giraffe?
There's no chance Seattle is in Season 1. They would have to cover the entire first game and a good chunk of the second in just 10 episodes. Plus I would think they'd want Bella Ramsay to age up a bit.
@@pooty195 Oh, I some reason I thought the Firefly Lab was also in Seattle, but I see now that it was SLC, Utah. Been a whilee since I played. Agree, no part of Part 2 will be in this season.
@@pooty195 I mean if we get to winter we're pretty far along
HBO + PEDRO PASCAL = HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT
He looks so good as Joel dude.
I'm excited to see Anna Torv back in action again playing Tess. If you don't know her, she's an amazing Australian actress most notable for playing Olivia Dunham in Fringe...one of the best genre shows this century!
Yes! I love Fringe! Such an underrated show
Super excited for this show and to see you guys react to it! Along with the Surprise Nick Offerman, you guys might recognize the woman that was holding the newborn.
PIKE!
Joel when he captures a raider: "I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold..."
The last of us 1 is probably still is one of my favorite games. I heard things about this show early on that worried me but watching the trailer I can say I am genuinely excited and hopeful for this. Glad they added Troy and Ashley to the cast.
Take on Me being the song choice has me excited because that's a Part 2 thing, so they clearly are making this with Part 2 in mind, which they weren't able to do with the games because they weren't sure they were gonna do Part 2. Basically we could see Abby, Owen and other future characters with the fireflies even in this first season.
I think this show can be crazy popular, I’ve never played the games but could tell from all the media about it that the story is amazing.
Nick Offerman isn't playing a firefly, he's playing the character of Bill, friend of Joel's
HBO: Based on one of the best video games in history from the guy that gave you the Chernobyl miniseries: The Last of Us
Peaches: Sad show of 2023
Filmed in Calgary while I was still living there - looking forward to recognizing some locations.
You guys have no idea how excited your audience is to see you both cry every single episode
Yesssss been dying for y’all’s reaction since the second this dropped
I've got a Firefly tattoo, to say I'm pumped would be an understatement.
I'm hoping to be able to show this to friends and family who would never watch a lets play of several hours. This is a story that is worthwhile experiencing, and shouldn't gated by having to be a gamer to see.
True, this happened with my friend and I hope that in the format of a series she will finally want to give this story a chance.
Wednesday would be a really good reaction series guys…not enough channels are doing it, but the comedy and thrills are really good for reactions
I really enjoyed Wednesday
Our family was RV'in in southern Alberta when we stayed in Fort MacLeod. We watched them film lost of scenes. At first I thought it was Ghost Busters Afterlife re-shoots....lol
Y’all never fail to impress me…”games as art” is spot on and a lot is riding in this show…forever a peach 🤘🏼
Games should be art all the triple A titles that have been released in the last few years that sucked were driven by profit and treated like product by the executives . Micro transaction . Loot boxes ect when the devs make a game to be a game they usually do a good job . When a game is made as a product its usually not a good game . Look at the saints row reboot .
The Fullmeteal Alchemist reference was so real.
I love the fact they played the song that ellie sang to dina 🥺
Sou do PIAUI (nordeste do Brasil). Moro em São Paulo. E sou muit fã de vocês! Lindos!
Jay, LEGENDARY Hadestown reference at 9:10! "He saw how the world could be, in spite of the way that is"
Did you guys not realize that the woman giving birth is Ashley Johnson herself who voiced Ellie? I'm assuming she's playing Ellie's mom?
I wish I could make Jays whole dog bit as my ringtone. 😂😂 that made me laugh too hard.
I shouldn't love it, but Jay's punch drunk giggles give me life.
Perfect timing guys, I just finished your trailerpalooza 😆
Nick Offerman is playing Bill from near the beginning.
Looking forward to the Pike cameo
good news is January isn't only sad show, there's also Legend of Vox Machina
What I love about this trailer is there focusing on the characters n not just all the carnage and clickers. What I loved about the first game was how I was so surprised at how ingaged I was with the storey and not jus the zombie killing
C'mon guys! Nick Offerman is playing Bill!
Dead ass that looks hilarious when lit hits different my g
I'm the one who started the "Adam's in the stream...that must mean Jay has a trailer to watch!" joke over on Twitch. I was so proud when it actually turned out to be TRUE. 🤣
Sick Hadestown reference!
Sam and Henry, Joel and Sara. There are many things about the show I'm already anxious about. They were just so tense in game, but now it's a live action show. I am hyped for it.
Adams face when Jay says “Dog Fighting! We love it!” 😂
By the way… Bad Batch Season 2… about 10 days before this. And that will have a two-episode release. Thinking about yall then
Okay, when he said, "No, you're cargo," my brain told me to say, "I can bring you in hot or I can bring you in cold."
Okay, this trailer convinced me that Bella Ramsey realy is Ashleys long lost little sister. Like holy moly the similarities in the way she carries herself, the voice and the looks (also making Ashley the perfect choice for Ellies mom in more than one way)... realy happy with that casting :)
Not sure if someone mentioned this (I did scroll a bit & didn't see anything), Nick Offerman is Bill
i don’t know if you guys have heard or seen his dark materials but season three comes out tomorrow! also i’m so excited for the last of us even though i know i will probably be sad each episode
As a huge Last of Us Fan and someone who loved both games this trailer looks very promising. If I would have to give a rating it is a 10/10 this trailer.
Worked on this show; it was a crazy experience. In my opinion, Last of Us is the best game ever, can't say whether the show will live up to it, but I'm pretty confident this will be great.
Nick Offerman is actually playing Bill!
I'm not a gamer but I've seen scenes from this game and I'm bracing for the hurt. Did Jay reference Hadestown at the end with the "it's a sad tale, but we"re gonna watch it anyway"?
6:11 Adam as you well know Jay is in his mid to late 40s.
I hope it does well, and believe it will. Video Game stuff ALWAYS gets ruined in TV/Movies where they have to change everything. I've never played Horizon but if Sony does more of their stuff I'd love to see a Resistance game (the one with the Aliens that was a launch title on PS3 I think)
ashley johnson giving birth to ellie is so poetic to me. isnt nick offerman playing Bill?
“Idk dog fighting, you heard it here first, we love it!” 😂😂😂
The fact that some of the team behind Chernobyl is involved in the Last of Us makes me optimistic. Chernobyl was heavy, sad, and even emotionally brutal, but I definitely recommend it as it was very well written, acted, and produced.
yet to be determined. I have some reservations about the casting...but Im going to watch either way.
I've never watched Full Metal Alchemist, BUT I have seen the part with that little girl and yes, it upsets me as well whenever I see memes and cosplays of her.
ahah Adam's face after the bloater was like 'nope, I'm outta here' lol
You guys make me laugh!
Adam gets it. Can’t wait and also dreading it.
I dont care what anyone says, the dog fighting joke was hit real clean
I don't know if they announced who plays him but I hope Troy Baker plays Tommy he's got the look and can definitely do the accent (as we know from Joel)
Looks like Troy Baker is playing one of David's people. Gabriel Luna is playing Tommy.
Troy is definitely playing one of David’s men, either James or the one that Joel tortures to find out where Ellie is
Given the hat he’s wearing in this trailer, I’d assume he’s playing James
@@childofbacchus I must have missed that I didn't even see him in thr trailer
I need a red dead redemption show immediately
llease react to the Gen V teaser trailer its a spinoff of the boys
The hook will be in when the first episode is over.
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
You guys should really react to Station Eleven
loved the show!~
Ashley playing her mom makes me so happy
I might just have to watch this, soley for Ashley Johnson. Then again, I can't get HBOmax in my country.
NINA AND ALEXANDER! It’s been years, it’s still too bloody soon. Hiromu Arakawa (who by the way, depicts herself as a cow, being from Hokkaido and all) must of known how utterly sad the fate of those two characters would be and how much it would stay with fans. At least, there was a point, though it wasn’t explored in the original series.
The Last of Us is at HBO. Horizon Zero Dawn is at Netflix. So, I will keep my expectations in check. and by "in check" I mean real low.
Preach, Jay!! No one should be allowed to dress their kid up as Nina! I literally start tearing up every single time! Trauma. 😭
pedro pascal solidifying himself as the internet's favorite dilf despite the fact that his is not a father at all is hilarious to me
" I hope this becomes the water cooler show ". Apparently these two never heard of House of the Dragon.
If I had a nickle for every time Pedro Pascal played an adoptive father to an orphaned child with a special gift, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't a lot, but its weird it happened twice.
Isn't Laura Bailey and Ashley Johnson in the games
Slack is the new water cooler. We’re all remote but we have our own chats going about what we’re all watching.
Great Reaction, but I gotta go to work now to talk about this reaction at the Water Cooler. Maybe in between Faxing my boss the quarterly figures I can check out the Blogs about it on the America Online. I just hope my wife doesnt Page me on my Beeper before I do....oh wait 🤔😜
Offermen is playing Bill
Nick Offerman is playing Bill ☺️
Was that Nathan fillian ?
I loved both of these games, even though I hate suspense. But I had to legit pause it at times because I was too scared 😂
Jay: hahahaha.That was hilarious!
Adam: Its a sad show.
Nick Offerman is absolutely NOT playing a firefly, he's playing Bill. It looks like they changed the story a bit so that his partner Frank is still alive, which makes sense given that they want to explore more depth with the various characters.
I have never owned a playstation and I have "evolved" (grown out of lol) game consoles at this point in my life. So I have not played the Last of Us. But I have always wanted to - can't justify buying a console for just that... but this show... this I can do. :D
I’ve not played the first game. After playing…or ‘living through’ the second game I’m not sure I can face it. Maybe watching this series will prepare me for it.
LOL you mean "surviving"🤣
Michael Vick just subscribed to your channel lol
Day one watch also the end OMFG
You guys are more excited for Netflix Horizone Zero Dawn or Amazon's God of War?
