I had a similar reaction. I was kinda on the fence about Riri before, but if that’s the sort of youthful exuberance we can expect from her than I’m on board. Makes me want her to meet Kamala

For what it’s worth, they’ve changed it from Atlantis to Talocan, the mythical Aztec city, and are leaning into the Central and South American mythology in order to differentiate from Aquaman.
I personally think the change is unnecessary but if they think it's the right move then I'll back it.

@@Nemisis007 It was necessary and it was the best choice they made. The Aztec/mayan culture of Talocan is way more interesting and beautiful than Bland Atlantis. The dresses, the drawings, the colors, the whole culture is just amazing. Atlantis is boring as shit .
So called Atlantis was never found, but there is a sunken city that was found off the coast of Central America.
Wow. That made me cry. And that "Wakanda...Forever... Wakanda...Forever..." in the music, just wow. Really floored me.

As for Tenoch Huerta as Namor, he looks amazing. God I can only imagine how well he would’ve played off of Chadwick. And Shuri as the new Black Panther looks badass. Hope Letitia Wright is ready to bear the title of Black Panther now, I know I’m rooting for her.

So just to confirm something, it's not called Atlantis in this movie/the MCU. it's called Talocan, based on the Aztec underwater realm Tlalocan.

It must have been SO HARD for everyone to film this movie without Chadwick being there, you know all the tears in this movie will be very real. I will probably end up crying throughout the whole thing lol I am SO STOKED for Suri Black Panther though and for IronHeart !!
So you noticed the Bassett possibility also huh? Here's my thought, I think the Queen dies or is seriously injured! If you notice the shot of Shuri crying, it looks like she's being comforted by Aneka and M'Baku, but where's the Queen?! I think the death or injury of Queen Ramonda is what finally pushes Shuri over the edge and forces her to don the suit!

the music note for the dora milaje makes me think that shuri is maybe not the one under the mask

I'm honestly betting that Namor is only gonna be the villain for the first two thirds then it'll be revealed the whole conflict between the two nations has been behind the scenes string-pulling at the hands of Attuma. I know Namor is more an anti-hero in the comics, and I bet hell still be an anti-hero in the movie. He and Shuri/Wakanda will probably have an uneasy alliance come the final battle. Attuma is a legit full villain in the comics, and I wouldn't be surprised since Marvel has done the secret main bad guy trope in their movies before. Namor may not end the movie being a good guy/exonerated from any crimes he commits, but he won't be THE main bad guy come the third act. But that's just my theory, it could just end up being untrue lol.

Namor may also be an example of the kinds of heroes that the general non comic reading audiences will not be able to accept. The whole little wings on the feet thing.
Not everything translates to the big screen. This is one of those instances where perhaps reinventing Namors flight power might have been the way to go.

I've never understood people's problem with the wings. It comes from ancient Greek mythology, of course, so I love the reference as a mythology nerd but since Namor has superhuman strength so would his little wings. Personally, I thought that shot of him flying in was rather terrifying and impressive and everything it should be.
What about Ironheart though? The whole thing just looks amazing.
These trailers have felt very different compared to the other Marvel trailers we've gotten. The raw emotion, the action, the characters...I have a great feeling this movie will be a masterpiece
I was holding it together until the very end where she drops down out of the ship just like T'Challa did the first time we saw him as Black Panther, then i lost it.

These reactions make me so happy. To see fans of all shapes, sizes and races excited for this movie. It's heartwarming, especially when we we made to believe that people will not be invested in movies with a predominantly black cast. I love how everybody has proven that to be untrue. I love the unifying force Chadwick Boseman has been in the world. RIP king. Wakanda Forever!
Spoiler: There are going to be lots of peoples complaining, crying and hating this movie because "is not t'he movie Chadwick deserved"... But I'm sure that this is going to be t'he BEST tribute to him and one of the most emotional and well-done films of the MCU. I have t'he feeling that everyone involved in this film was aware that is a tribute as far that a simple blockbuster.

I can't wait. This is by far the best movie trailer for any Marvel movie, and it was amazing.
Greatest reaction so far. No overreaction and acting..just pure emotion and excitement.
Based on the trailer, I don't think Namor's feet wings let him "fly" exactly. They can slow down a descent, but the thing i noticed was near the end. He charged one of Wakanda's flyers and he seems to leap around in the air rather than actually fly. Maybe their beating compress the air under him so he can "jump" off if them? I don't know but it looks cool either way.
In the comics he can levitate without moving them, they just help stabilize him IIRC
I'm so curious how Riri is going to play into all of this as well.

There's already suggestions that Namor appearing in this movie is like Black Panther showing up in Civil War: the buildup to a massive franchise.
Interesting that there's been relatively little of Nakia/Lupita across both trailers! Slight worry about Namor's VFX when he flies. Coogler for Secret Wars if he knocks this out of the park?!

This trailer actually has me excited to see this movie. I haven't seen a Marvel movie in theaters since before the pandemic, but this may be the one.

If they keep it somewhat canon, then Shuri DOES put on the mantle, but keep in mind she only donned the suit TEMPORARILY in the comics, she didn't stay the Black Panther! So saying it doesn't make sense really doesn't seem fair because we DON"T know how they will make it work.
....just keep an open mind.
Also, realize that Namor's "wings" help to propel him through water which provides a whole lot more resistance than air.
They showed Shuri as Black Panther in the trailer (outside chance it's Nakia) -- and the big reveal in the movie will be Doom. Doctor Doom killed T'Challa, and framed Atlantis. The two nations, or at least Namor/Shuri/Okoye/Ironheart/MBaku team up in the climax to fight Doom, he escapes, and we set up our villain for the future. After Kang, most likely. If there's anyone who can survive a multiversal war in the background, it's Doom. OR...Doom becomes the MCU equivalent of Master of the World in Kang Dynasty. Helps the Avengers survive Kang long enough for Secret Wars -- then it's gloves off.
Tenoch Huerta, I recently stated two important points, one: that Namor is a mutant, which makes him the second mutant in the MCU, and second: that Namor is an antihero in this movie
I'm sure this movie will be reaaally good ! It will be an emotional roller coaster, but damn, i'm soooo excited !!!
While I agree it's most likely Shuri, but what about Nakia? The big thing about this film is that it's going to be a chance for all of us to grieve the loss of Chadwick - I'm certain that there wasn't much acting required by the cast for the funeral scenes.

Angela Bassett doesn't make it out of the first act? Wow. I hadn't considered that, but if it happens to be accurate, that would be In. Sane.
Remember, Ramonda, states her "*entire* family is gone. So it's possible Shuri doesn't make it out of the first act, and Nakia is in the suit. The Dora Milaje call sound when the Panther drops down kinda hints at that.
I definitely think it's Shuri but also wouldn't be surprised if it was Nakia. That's the vibe that I got from the first trailer.

I am glad to see where you came from to where you are today i love it, what made you both change sides Adam was on the left side and Jay was on the right side, I was not watching you on your 100 Episode but I am now. The amazing thing for me was remembering that this is the MCU, they don't usually give away too much in trailers, so with everything that's packed in this one, I think our minds are gonna be blown by what they've still got hidden! This is gonna be awesome. 👍
