Actually Sagat is a great counter against Ryu.. But When a Ryu user became agressive Zoning with hadoken multiple times with the chip damage and finishing it with shinku hadoken once you open just a little bit of defense.. It could spell doom
I know this comment is pretty old (hell, I was 7 when it was commented), but if you haven’t been following him recently, he’s been playing a ton of Guile for the majority of his SFV career
Its not just that. Given that its very hard to chain combos very fast in SF2. Whats amazing is he could just continue to chain all regular moves with super and continue back to regular moves without missing a beat.
The thing that makes this video funny is that the audience is cheering not because Daigo is winning, but because John Choi was getting his shit ruined.
And you are okay with that, because you're a Daigo fanboy? Japanese hero worship? I'm Japanese, are you going to cheer for me for that fact? John is Asian himself, do you hate him because he was born in the USA?
@UCVocdrYKg12fK_llVIPShgg no you idiot, picking old sagat (the most powerful character in the game before akuma) and literally just spamming tigers after tiger is cheap as hell. John Choi is cheap as hell that’s why when you see someone cheap being absolutely destroyed it’s fun. Bare in mind Old sagat is frowned upon and banned in all decently high level tournaments in Japan (source is ryan heart who got his source from Daigo himself) so Daigo didn’t have much fighting experience against Old Sagat so tf you on about? This can help you in combos and you can use Standing Short cancelled into ground tiger to help pressure.

High Tigers can be avoided by crouching, low ones forces you to either take chip damage or make a move (into standing roundhouse / tiger uppercut ideally). Old VS New Sagat comparison can be found by Googleing "old sagat vs new sagat", first entry.

I know it's annoying to watch (and definitely annoying to listen to), but anything goes when playing for money. I often use O.Sagat. This character is very strong, because tiger shot is so fast.
Also his limbs was a big longer and he had fast recovery on many of his moves and the dmg.
Because his Tiger Uppercut did decent damage. As in, like, piledriver damage!
