In this video, we take a look at some Anti-Alatreon Builds for the Long Sword in MHW Iceborne. Remember that stats are stated while your character is idle with no active items or food buffs. While some jewel buff will be in effect like maximum might, the video should give you a sense of the type of build I'm going for.

Tbh they need to buff quick sheath skill or add an armor that gives quick sheath secret so we can go full on vergil mode
Judgment cutting the shit out of everything
Quick sheathe is great on normal sheathe but hot garbage when it comes to iai slash and after performing the spirit roundslash. luckily this was alleviated in MHR where quick sheathe actually makes a difference
Health Augment lvl 2 with Recovery Up lvl 3 is what i use to compensate the Health draining, it also gives you more health back from the Armor skill
It’s almost like they designed the gear from the monsters to help you specifically with the future monsters. For example Kjarr weapons and Safi armor can be used to great effect versus Alatreon, Alatreon’s weapons can be used against Fatalis, and Fatalis armor should be used against AT Velkhana. They all flow into each other perfectly
I finally got the Kjarr sword fire, it took me 30 hours of grinding KT to finally get it. Let’s go dude, now I got all the juicy weapons and armor sets. I’m ready to take on the blazing black dragon himself. The Kjarr sword fire is absolutely phenomenal, 20% affinity, 974 attack, and 540 element with built in critical element! With crit eye 7 and true dragon vein awakening you’ll be at 100% crit anywhere and don’t even need to tenderize, amazing.
By the time I get these fucking decorations, MHW2 will be out.
Steam works was how I got every jewel. Farm the zinogre quest that drops dragon coals. Use them at seliana steamworks and then all the steel silver and gold meld tickets use at the elder melder and you get shit ton of jewels👍
thanks, man. i hope for the best for people that haven't defeated it yet. i've been through there, so all that's left is to learn how to fight Alatreon, basically.
I think replacing Legiana's LS with Velkhana's LS would give an extra lv 4 decoration would be best in my opinion
Frostfang barioth longsword much better though
My build is very similar, I don’t use quick sheath as it’s not a big enough difference

I don't recommend Safii build on longsword, every time you sheath your weapon, it resets the heal counter.
then dont sheath ur weapon, just sheath when u get ur heal
@@insorioseanpaoloj.3482 On longsword you need to sheath your weapon with special sheath to guard point attacks and continue your combo after helmbreaker...
i hate when i cant breakhis horn and i stuck with a element that dont cancel judgement,
i am using dragon but the take 20 30 minutes each
Don't use dragon, it's really bad, you have a 0.1 multiplier when not in dragon mode and 0.7 multiplier when in dragon mode, but when in dragon mode ice and fire have a 0.5 multiplier so there's no reason to run dragon.

I made my first kill with dragon dps(full ham with kjarr dual blades and 5 safi) as I only had strong fire weapons. It was hard mode because as I went in the event with a fire weapon he was consistently mopping the floor, with dragon element you really struggle getting more than 2 elemental topples . I think it is worst than water and lightning for him actually ^^.
I suggest to use frostbang barrioth LS else that pegiana
Is it possible to use safifrost blade on the last build instead?
I basically made this build on my own it just about keeps up with alatreon but starts to suck once he shifts elements unless you can break his horns.
Hornbreak isn’t too bad. A wall slam usually breaks it on its own.
im using a classic teostra brachy stuff with element level 6 but it’s seems like the elemental dmg aren’t still enough! gonna try those one thx!
If you fast attacking weapons you’ll be fine, sns is the easiest

@@monsterhunterclips9845 all the weapons have modifiers the weapon doesnt really matter slow/fast u will weaken the ult no matter what unless u dont hit alatreon and run all the time
@@kitanoken7055 the modifiers help flatten the curve but faster weapons like db, lbg and sns will still put out more element than hammer or gs. I think it was rage gaming that did a video showing this with heavy mods to the damage/element and gs only got about 2 element breaks before kill but lbg got 6 before kill. The modifiers do help close the element gap, I also think this gap is widened by ala's trash element hitzones and squishy raw hitzones

WEAPON: Kjarr fire sword with health augment and elemental up augments
ARMOR: safijiva
SKILLS:
Fire attack
Attack boost
Agitator
Weakness exploit
Critboost
Health boost
Coalesence
MANTLES:
Run divine blessing or recovery up
Honestly if ur running safi set wouldnt it be better to use resentment over agitator cause of the armor passive that chips away ur hp

Hi i just started playing long sword and have the kjarr stream sword for my elemental build but i have level 5 attack in my build but do i realy need the attack skill on a elemental build? Or am i wasting jewel slots?

Rathalos LS is pretty decent if you can get it fully upgraded. Requires farming Silver Rathalos.

Why legiana ls and not frostfang?
i have 200 hours in MH world and farmed quite a few decorations quests, yet I greatly lack useful tier 4 decorations. Mine are almost exclusively garbage. How do you get the ones you need? Just farm more?
There are is a good way to farm decos, if steamworks has gold mending tickets in its pool:
1. There is an event quest for Zinogre, where he drops base fuel instead of monster parts. Farm as much of that fuel as you can.
2. Change the steamworks output to 10x. The farmed fuel should last you quite a while.
3. With the gold mending tickets, you have a very good chance of getting higher quality decos.
Can you do a anti-alatreon build for insect glaive
if you don't have a kjarr I'd recommend using the frostfang barioth weapon with 3 kaiser 2 raging brachy and agitator charm, build with attack boost 6 agitator 7 crit eye 3 vitality 3 weakness exploit, and 1 point in coalescence if you can afford, basically it is a raw build that uses the innate damage of the weapon to incidentally deal with the mechanic. Bring an ice kinsect and ice weapon on your palico. It does wonder. If you have kjarr ice, 5 pieces safi and either a frost charm and a fury charm 5(but you then need to put ice 6 on your decos ^^). Safi armor gives 40% affinity and profit from resentment, however keep in mind that kjarr weapon suck with sharpness so you'll need a sharp jewel and you don't have purple sharpness either(wich has impact on elemental damage as well). On your kjarr weapon I'd recommend using health and 2 elemental upgrades, it's qol going health but big qol. Honestly the frostfang barioth kinsect glaive is kind of amazing on Alatreon ^^.

The Kjarr Fire Katana is not dropping for me. I´ve tried the Kulve quest about 20 times, tried to create on melder too and now a have ELEVEN pages of Kulve weapons, but not the Kjarr Fire Katana :(.

Yes it works for Kjarr Ice. If you're skilled, you can elemental break him even with the wrong element. If not, just do as much damage as possible but don't break the head and die to the nova. He will switch elements if you don't break the head.
The best Anti-Alatreon tip is to improve your playing skill :)

I'm using the Legiana longsword since the Special Assignment starts with fire and I can shut down his element and stuff but man breaking his horn is so hard, I wonder what I'm doing wrong.
I think you can only break his horns when he's in the middle of shifting elements (glowing purple)
U can only break it in dragon active mode and u should try to either flinch shot it into the wall for a knockdown or be lucky enough to get the elemental knockdown in dragon phase. Otherwise just aim for the head as much as u can while its dragon active.
You have to use the games annoying gimmick of damaging the part with the clutch claw to break the horns fast, along with part breaker if you can fit it into your slots

Michael Lee the ice build is the legiana sword. The fire sword is Kulve Taroth drop
Now say something about tactics. LS has been my favorite weapon for Alatreon. But for God sake fellow LS users, stay the fuck away from the head in multiplayer!!

A truly good LS user would not have quick sheath or evade window in their builds as Foresight Slash gives you what you need in both cases. 2nd build was nice. Overall great recommendations
