- My setup, some thoughts, and some info on doing high alpha in the AtomRC Penguin. This is a great little basher of a plane. Keep it light and it stays very maneuverable. It's also the key to good performance for high alpha. Handles turbulence well, and is all around enjoyable to fly.

Thanks for making this video. You´re a good pilot who shows the real limits of models. A thing I often look for but do not find.
You're such a nerd. Love it.
You can buy plastic washers but I took a laundry soap bottle and cut out a chunk on a flat side. Left it in one piece. When I have the screw-falling-out issue, I drill a hole smaller than the screw and work the screw through it. Then I cut out a square and hot glue or E6000 it in place. Cheap. Works well. Occasionally needs replacing.
I love mine. I put some tiny rubber bands (the kind used for braces) on the screws to hold them in. Makes turning a bit tighter, but less likely to lose at the field. Glad to see someone share some STL's for this plane!
My dude, thanks for putting this together. I've been on the fence with this plane for a couple weeks, I loves me a twin tractor with stupid amounts of differential (apparently so do you!). Need a Quick question for a like-minded soul: Pull the trigger, or wait 'till the next great AtomRC?
Penguin is hard to beat.
Very interesting! I had no idea it could do that. Looks like a lot of fun!
Hi Respect Loving your terminology for Fukin Harrier High Alpha Modal Ind. Penguin 🐧 16;9 1000% plus
Nice timing buddy! Just setting mine up. Printable nose will be awesome!
You are going to like it.
Crashed my penguin yesturday after a motor burnt up. The stock nose shattered on impact. I printed the nose posted in this video. I have to say it worked great and fits perfect for walksnail. I normally design my own parts or modify existing design but no need for this one. It's perfect!
Glad it worked for you!
Nice
Your going to make me buy one aren't you? 🤔😀
hahaha made me get one...
Certainly an easy recommend from my view!
for the screw, use a rubber ring or print a captive c clip
I always put o-rings in those screws so they don't fall out.
the covering looks great. how did you do that?
Thanks for sharing. Just crashed my Penguin (needs only glue) because my poor 4 year old 4S Samsung INR 18650-30Q pack, rated max 15A, had to deliver 27 A full throttle and one cell changed IR to infinity.
Flying high alpha is fun, but I have a few different settings:
Where is you CG? I fly it now at the end of the big CG marks.
And how much expo do you fly with? I'm flying with motor mixer Yaw 0.3 and Yaw expo in INAV on 70%, this helped a lot..
this might have pushed me towards buying a flightlessbird.
Do you like it as much as the Dolphin? I like that plane, but the prop on the rear scares me since I got bitten hard by it and I tend to fly it less because of that.
Yes. I prefer it over the dolphin. It is very easy and safe to launch tractor twins because the props are in front of your hands for the launch. Plus they have so much power it barely needs a gentle toss.
Hi, thank you for sharing, are your PID OK with "default" motors ?
Yes, I'd suggest running iNav's autotune but default is certainly fine.
@@NotamedClosed It seemed to me that autotune only adjusted the FF 🤔 I have an RTH kit and the PIDs have nothing to do with yours.
@@NotamedClosedplease tell me what rates do you use?
Proper care includes flying quadcopters in to it
Gotta toughen them up!
