I know there's no way he's ever gonna see this but kudos to Seth for adapting so well to the UA-cam format. It was a steep learning curve what with there not being an audience and having to adapt cadence and flow that he's used since probably SNL, right? It was a bit awkward in the beginning but I'm glad I stuck around. The slow descent into madness was very well played, props on point and like Eddy Burback said, keeping a joke going that the audience hates is peak youtube.

They are all quite direct and clear. There's also the Dear Leader Lord Feltersnatch I use, too. Don't know how many others may use it, though. It is kinda long and tiresome to type out as a hashtag, of course. I think most want a shorter and more evocative name for him. Hence the hashtags, LOL!

If you know anything about economy then you would know that the US is one of the few countries that has a strong enough of an economic feedback to fund as much of whatever it wants. This goes double for anything spent on the military or medical. The reason is a bit complex bit it has to do with the number of transactions a dollar passes through before being exported.
Anyway the reason medicine isn't funded in the US isn't because of the cost. Its because federal funding of Healthcare would drive down medical costs and reduce the profit margins of pharmaceuticals, education and especially insurance companies.
So these lobby to prevent expansions on medical spending by the federal government

@@cosesu8929 It doesn't. When it comes to government spending, how much is spent doesnt matter as much as who is being spent on. With the other biggest factor being non-monetary returns.
First where non-monetary returns are concerned, there tends to be an upper limit in most fields on how much money can be spent before it stops having an effect.
Super simple example, if you pay someone to hold up a post, you don't get any extra return if you pay a second person to help hold up the same post.
This often applies to construction and research. Research especially often tends to be overfunded in various areas (heavily underfunded in others), so you end up with dozens of scientists doing the same exact tests for no additional gains or q few highly overpaid scientists again accomplishing nothing extra despite the money spent.
The military and medical fields are special, and are called labor sinks. You can have as many people work in these fields as you want and never get a diminishing return on the investment.
As for the question of who is getting paid, you basically want the money to be spent on people who will turn around and spend that money. This is called a taxable transaction.
Super simple example. If you have $1 and you give it to someone, and write a receipt for it, then they give it back and write a receipt for that and then repeat this step 100 times. You will both end up reporting an income of $100. Thats a total of $200 of value gained from a single dollar. And the government taxes that for about $60. Of course don't do this or you'll be in debt $59 to the government.
But thats basically the idea. If the government spends its money on people who will spend their money fast enough, then the government can quickly recoup everything it spent plus extra in taxes.
The military is super good at this. And Medicine is almost as good.
You might argue that the people being hired to work as soldiers might be put to better use as nurses. But we have enough unemployment and underemployment that, we could probably triple the military's size and still find enough people to fill nursing and doctor roles.
If we could ever overcome the lobbyists preventing just that.

I was worried when Attic Seth and Captain's Quarters Seth was returning to the studio. He was by far the best late night host for the past six months. Well, nothing to worry about! This A Closer Look was hilarious (well, as funny as possible considering the subject matter 😩). Seth is really on top of his game, and I am loving it. And he didn't get his hair cut! Could September 8, 2020 get any better? Man I missed him the past two weeks 😊.

Lelynn, I watched Kimberly's speech live. It was very scary! Never heard anything like it. She sounded like an angry witch. It gave me an awful feeling listening to her. And after that, I understood why she and Don Jr. were together as a couple.
