These people disgust me. Why didn't they say this to the public in November of 2020? If they had shown a little integrity, we could have avoided so much tragedy.
That would have interfered with any potential book deals they might have had. I actually liked that Navarro, not an attorney himself, is deciding to defend himself. I love that he put out a book detailing all about the time he spent in the Misadministration of Donnie Dimwit, and that he is claiming that he has some sort of "privilege" that applies to his testimony and documents. Donnie is not claiming privilege for Navarro, and neither is Biden, so there is no executive privilege applicable here. He is not, nor has he ever been, an attorney, nor was he Donnie Dimwit's attorney, or even an informal legal counsel. That means no attorney client privilege. He seems to think that him having to tell the actual truth under oath, thus discrediting every lie he told in his book somehow constitutes a privilege situation, but I don't recall ever running across a book publisher's privilege. These people who are at least seven cards short of a full suit of cards let alone a deck, these are the people Donnie Dimwit is relying upon for his coup efforts. And the proper question is why didn't they say anything about this in November of 2016, you know the first time he tried this BS?

If everyone who is speaking now had spoken up then (ESPECIALLY Ivanka), things might have been different. Most of them would still have believed that the election was stolen. However, I don't think that they would have been emboldened to riot. These people are mostly cowards. You can tell that by their behavior in court on the lowest charges possible.
That's the thing. They all knew it was BS and they had actually investigated it and found it to be BS. Yet, they let this go on and on. If they had said something and the Republicans (the sane ones, anyway) said something, then 1/6 probably would not have happened. Why did they never learn that you cannot just "humor" this sick man and think that he would just get with the program. Instead, they let it fester to the point where he is still insisting the election was stolen and millions of his cult members believe him.

He (they) knew how contagious COVID 19 was from the very beginning. Yet they spent months claiming that it was part of a a Democratic Party scam. They actively discouraged THEIR OWN SUPPORTERS from taking even the most benign preventative measures. Then, they discouraged them from getting vaccinated.
All the while telling everyone that might write a book how dangerous it was.
The part I liked best was when Ivanka admitted that she respected William Barr. The unstated corollary was that she didn't respect her father, and it makes me happy that he heard her say it.

I like how NBC Entertainment recognizes that Barr’s statement of “bullshit” is part of the historical record and doesn’t censor it, but bleeps out Seth repeating it to avoid allowing such language to inflame the truth.
Maybe it's because it's…exotic to me, not being in the US, but I think the bleep just draw more attention to it ~

This is how you do it: slowly accumulate data, slowly interview every single person that you can, and then present it to the public in a logical, rational, comprehensive way so that no one can accuse you of being a partisan hack or a propagandist. I am very impressed with how much they have accomplished…and they have many more hearings to go.

Actually, more than one of the Faux Propaganda hosts texted Meadows to tell him Donnie needed to stop this. And the point made during the first day of hearings that it was not Donnie Dimwit, but Pence that called in reinforcements was wonderful irony. Donnie Dimwit was too busy trying to jerk himself off watching the insurrectionists on television to do anything to stop it, even if he had wanted to, which he didn't.
Remember when Cohen went to jail and his two clients were Trump and Hannity lol. As members of the unofficial state propaganda Fox hosts always had a direct line to Trump to get ahead of negative stories and plan propaganda.
I've been enjoying the hearings a lot. That team has done a really great job in assembling and presenting all of the evidence so far.
I'm not sure I would say I'm "enjoying" them. The facts that are coming out are horrifying (and at the same time, not surprising). But, I have been very impressed. I hope that it is enough to dissuade that sick person from running again.

I think he's smart enough to understand that without any evidence for the election fraud allegation, maintaining such a claim for the purpose of contesting the election results would eventually lead to something like the current investigation. The supporters of the claim would be in serious trouble as he knows Trump well enough to understand his motivation. I think overthrowing democracy is not his line: he is doing this to save his skin. Don't forget that there are many of his earlier actions that are at best problematic.

For real though, everyone around Trump spent the previous 4 years telling him only what he wanted to hear, or at least spinning facts into the most agreeable possible (when they cared about facts at all), because otherwise he got nasty. I'm sure in time he stopped seeing them as advisors, they were his happiness managers. So the defense will be easy : when on the 6th they told him something he didn't want to hear, he simply didn't believe them, which should have been predictable to anyone since he never believes when it's inconvenient.
