I wish there were more creative opportunities like this, not just in the video game industry. The world is robbed of so much potential and job opportunity because someone is voiceless and doesn’t have the means of reaching the masses.
When humans are perfected in unreal engine, we are going to be able to make entire movies from our bedrooms. With the only limits being our storytelling abilities!
the limit is imo the blandness. Realism is so easy and cheap already that everyone who can will shift away from realism, or fade into pile of equal looking things. Variation is key, if you want to stand out of the masses you have to be unique, your not unique if you just make Megascan worlds, with blueprint tech und metahuman characters, most things will look and feel the same.
@Numai Blandness? So realism is blandness to you? Isn't every live film uh, filmed in real life which -- according to you -- looks bland? If we can make our own material with realistic assets on the get-go we would save ourselves a lot of trouble traveling to actual locations, renting incredibly expensive cameras and filming equipment, etc. Perhaps some people just was to make realistic CGI films because they would much rather do it professionally in a real life setting but can't. Not everybody's story is the same. And realism can't be bland if you have interesting filters, rendering techniques, and camera angles with proper lighting to convey your message. There's so much you can do with just one tool.
@@thronosstudios no but the amount of realism available as games (also i talk about games not movies or shows). I don't give a shit about a realistic disney movie, i like the animations more (as the majority does according to sale numbers) I don't care about the most polished games either. Also Realism is realism, there is not much range you have to adapt your games and make them unique, and even if you manage to do them, with the amount of realism that pops up there will be lots of other games who do the same. I see that already more and more developer shift away from Realism, into a stylized approach in some way or another. But i expect players to be bored out by realism at some point, and realism, the synonym for cheaply made cashgrap games (thanks to megascans) - I might be wrong and i hope so, we will see soon enough.

Looks amazing. But it will take a while before mainstream can enjoy this type of graphics in realtime, as it will take a few years before RTX3090 power will be available for sub $300-$400. Also I hope they will fix the problems with VR soon so we can enjoy more advantages of the UE5 in VR.
You're right, it will take years before we see this in a AAA game. Most AAA games take years to develop and they are only just starting. As for the power of an RTX 3090? Not required for this fidelity. I've got a 3090, and a 3060 Ti (400 dollar card) and they both run this type of thing amazingly. The graphics cards coming later this year should bring this type of tech to the sub-300 dollar mark. Besides, this type of tech has already been shown off on CURRENT generation consoles, because they can use the software version of Lumen, and take full advantage of Nanite, Chaos, Niagara, Landmass, and all the other tech that's hardware agnostic. As for VR issues, if you're referring to Nanite and Lumen not being designed for VR, well I wouldn't hold my breath. They've already come out and said that's not something they're planning, since both pieces of tech would need to be redesigned to work specifically with two displays giving two different perspectives.
You are right. It will take a while but it won't take that long. Cloud computing is key here. I'm currently paying round about 30$/month for a Quadro P5000. Not very long and there will be complete ready to fire up cloud computing systems with the power of a RTX3090. I honestly don't think anybody will have a physical PC at home in the future.
There will be double the performance of 3090 in less than a year and quadruple in maybe 2 years. 3090 performance will be $500 or less in that time. But inflation might get in the way. Video graphics hardware will be making gigantic leaps soon.
@@PCorNPC no it wont, even 2080 performance isn't below $500 at this time, and it's almost 4 years since it was released. And the 4090 won't be double the performance of the 3090.

The engine truly deserves its name but also big props to the artists who made the assets and those who made the scenes.
My jaw was to the floor the entire time. This is absolutely incredible and makes me so excited for the future of gaming.
Yeah the wild thing is this tech is not slowing down , next GPU’s are going to be 2x faster around … that’s like every 2 years, 10 years they will be 32x faster if the trend continues, imagine what that will look like haha
@@thefoss721 Computing has advanced billions of times faster than any other technological medium since its creation, and as someone who loves video games, that only spells out good news for the future. I don’t doubt that someday we’ll legitimately be able to be INSIDE of games that are indistinguishable from real life.
@@jadonarey9019 it seems like things are going that way, that would be awesome, very tempting to live in though if you could transport to Everest or New Zealand, space, the moon 🌚
@@jle7647 I’m aware, that’s why I said “future”.

Bruh I'm getting emotional looking at this. This is beyond video games and movies we are in an age of pure artwork. There's no limitations at this point.
I know Lumen and Nanite are not yet VR ready, but if these shown surroundings/scenes one day could be visited in VR……. 🙏🏼
Awesome work!
least when on vr, its heavy enough for you to realise its just a game :) but is it?
@@ascelot It's definitely more immersive than looking at a monitor.
the bigger problem with vr is that you're rendering twice as much compared to a PC, since you have 2 screens, so it's twice as demanding on the GPU and CPU, which leads to lower framerates
@@malcewicz for how long? i bet it wont be an issue in 5 years
@@AniSepherd972 well yeah, probably, but the main comment said it's not yet ready, not that it won't be in 5 years
the fact that i can't tell with some scenes whether its real life or not says a lot, this is insane can't wait for devs to use its potential
Omg .. as a world building nerd who loves to imagine places and write stories about them , this video makes me want to learn everything about 3d and ue5 just to make those places that are trapped in my imagination come to live so others can see them too 😭
Edit : you guys are so nice thanks for encouraging me i will do my best to start learning 💗💗
I think you should go for it
I feel ya, it's 100% worth it. Just do it
World building nerd here, literal Dungeon Master... I went into 3D a decade ago and there's never been a lower barrier than today. Don't go spend a bunch of money on education, just download UE5 and start making shit.
As a kid, me and my friends would write our own books each in the same universe. And we each had our own planet and characters. And as we got older we kept writing them, and they kept getting more and more mature for our age. And now we have a whole story and universe. I've always wanted to create games, and I really want to learn UE5 to bring that universe to life in a game. And from the littlest I've actually used Unreal. Quixel makes world building so easy. well easier. and just high quality. you should really learn it.
@Goood Human - You glowing creators are exactly what these products are meant to inspire, immerse, and get going. Take it! Use it! The tools are for you!
Truly breathtaking... so priviliged to be alive for this era of gaming and technology
Holy... So many places, and experiences... Amazing!
Not gonna lie, it got me tears up. It's absolutly stunning and I can't wait to see what type of game artists can create with that.
We live in a beautiful era for video games.
Amazing work, we need peoples like you !
Not trying to spread negativity, but these kind of graphics existed for like over 10 years now. The main reason we don't get to see games with these graphics is that it's not profitable enough to make them as most people can't afford the hardware. Todays software is way ahead of its hardware.
@@homelander4375 then you still don’t get Unreal Engine 5
The reason being that the hardware can stay almost the same and you’d still be able to get these high quality graphics and remain profitable because of Nanite and Lumen
I just wanted to give a huge THANK YOU! Thank you for sharing these amazing pieces of art with us, and a massive thank you to the artists for putting in the time and effort to showcase what level of creativity is possible!
It's mindblowing thinking that 30 years ago I was playing with Super Mario, and today we are achieving this level of details. Well done!
Thank you, Quixel team. You guys gave me purpose again in life. I really mean that.
Just rewatched this like 10 times and every time i notice something new. Absolutely UNREAL!
Like someone said in the comments, I too feel lucky to be alive. Being a creative with not a lot of money in hand, I had no access to softwares like these, until now :) I wake up every single day excited, This gives me the power to continue imagining, staying creative.
the amount of details and environment interaction is really something I have never seen before, wish you all the best.
Jaw dropping isn’t even the word I would use for this. UE5 is truly phenomenal.
Must be crazy to be able to do something like this. It is like dreaming while beeing awake. Awesome job to everyone involved
I wish there were more creative opportunities like this, not just in the video game industry. The world is robbed of so much potential and job opportunity because someone is voiceless and doesn’t have the means of reaching the masses.

well you're not wrong...
didnt expect to see you here
The uncanny resemblance gave me chills. So realistic and beautiful.
I remember playing Perfect Dark on N64, and being amazed by the mere slightest of reflections… how exquisite you’ve become.
These scenes are stunning.
I started 3D art a year ago and I dream to be this good one day....If ever!
This makes me want to cry. This is the closest thing we have to magic and seeing other worlds and it is beautiful.
@@CptBlaueWolke I'm having a hard time making my scenes look realistic, specifically nature scenes. Can you point me in the right direction please?
@@X-Prime123 go outside and look at nature
As someone who is starting to get into game development this engine is utterly insane and leaves me with shivers down my spine
Wow. If I was a 3D artist I'd recreate the scenes from my favorite books. Would love to see the beach scene in the Dark Tower series for example.
That sounds like a nice scene to start learning with 👍
The one with those lobsters? Didachik dunachum. God it's always good to come across a dark tower enthusiast.
A open world game with all details you know in Lord Of The Rings. Just feeling free to discover or to be part of the actual movie but in a game.
This is insane! I just hope I am not dead before we actually get to play games with graphics like this lol.

Awesome, now developers just need to learn how to develop enjoyable gameplay again and we're set!
How can we create something looking better than reality ? This is amazing
I have a laptop with a 3070. It runs pretty good on that.
@@PCorNPC no it wont, even 2080 performance isn't below $500 at this time, and it's almost 4 years since it was released. And the 4090 won't be double the performance of the 3090.
