The way the lighting reacts dynamically is just brilliant. There's alot that goes into photorealism but the cornerstone of a convincing set is accurate lighting. This is definitely a leap in our ability to replicate realistic light behavior. Oh man I'm so excited for next gen games. Hellblade 2 is being made with this engine and the gameplay reveal looks unreal (pun intended).
I've always loved games that were able to showcase dynamic lighting abilities which also had an effect on gameplay. Horror and stealth games usually excelled at this aspect.

An SSD doesn't fix your download speed however it does speed up copying time but if the file sizes are huge still might take a min or 2

6:56 If you look closely, you can see the nanite techonology catching up as it opens. You can see individual polies there, and they quickly transpose into a coherent circle.
This is so syncronistic... I went and re watched this after more than a year and I also caught that before I scrolled down and saw your comment. Maybe my brain saw it this time since I played around in the Matrix demo with triangle view and saw how they update with distance. This was probably a glitch cus it was a cutscene and is not limitation of the engine since I havent seen anything like it in the Matrix demo.

This looks like a sci-fi fantasy version of Tomb Raider. The character even looks and sounds like Lara Croft a little bit. The graphics are pretty much photorealistic, and the lighting is fantastic.

A FOV covering high fidelity curved display or a Reverb G2 VR headset would be an enthralling experience. Especially with the spatial audio. I honestly can't wait for games to come out using this engine. Particularly survival and RPG titles. Like ARK 2 or that Wukong game. I wish I had taken the time to learn how to use this engine. I've had a chance since UT2k3 was a thing.

Who remembers "Euclidean Unlimited Detail" which attempted to simulate atoms? It failed. We now have this which makes me believe that reality is composed of polygons.

making a realistic character is very hard, just look at Star Wars, it's easier to make a stylized character and say it's not realistic because it's stylized than to try to make it look realistic
Actually, the character also looks extremely realistic - just with unrealistic facial features and motion.
Uncanny valley and so forth...
