I absolutely love George's sense of humor, which is so greatly displayed in this song. At least he was able to turn the whole 'My Sweet Lord' affair into something worthwhile.
annaaaabv If you haven't seen his performance of "The Pirate Song" he did, you should check it out since his humour really shines through so brightly there.
I had a Dark Horse Records just like that, but in beige. I was wearing it when I climbed twelve flights of stairs to sneak into Ringo's press conference for the movie Caveman here in Chicago at the Fairmont Regency in 1980. I just popped through a door and Ringo and everyone else just looked at me like, "Who the hell is this kid?". I was 17 years old. I asked Ringo if he had a copy of George's "I, Me, Mine" -- which was bound in leather, signed and limited to 1000 copies at the time and priced $240 in the US. Ringo quipped, "I cain't afford it!" Everyone laughed. I told Ringo that I had a copy. He was impressed. I was at the time, and still am, a huge George Harrison fan. I miss him terribly.
The lyrics to This Song are more than hilarious, they're brilliant!!! "Nothing Brite about it!" If I remember correctly, the company that sued him was named Brite (sp) AND unless I read a lie, in the end he owned that company!!! 😂😂😂 I'll gladly stand correctly if I've gotten any of this wrong. "This song is in E" So simple but what a clever way to create the just right rhyme!!! Oh, how I love and miss this man. ❤
Yeppers, he ended up buying the record label that was suing him, and once he took ownership, he dropped the lawsuit against himself. You go!!! George PS, kind of reminds me of when the Desert Inn, in Las Vegas, wanted to kick Howard Hughes out of their hotel because he was taking up to the top two floors of the hotel. So he just bought the damn place. Then lived there for 4 years.
There is a version of George singing 'Get Back' with Billy Preston really jamming out. Inveresting... Several times during the later solo years. He was the best at recreating 'The Beatle sound'..
Great way for George to have the last laugh on a bogus lawsuit. there is an MTV quality Video for this elsewhere, which was filmed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
This was George's reaction against the idiotic plagiatism attack for "my sweet Lord", He really couldn't care less, still on human level great postin'...R.I.P. George
Reminiscent of Wah Wah - his less than subtle knock back to Paul McCartney for ignoring his songs and delegating his key lead guitar (early) role to rhythm playing in the Beatles. It was co written with Eric Clapton who George also deliberately invited to Abbey Road to perform the solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps... now, try telling 'GOD' he isn't playing well enough. LMAO. Got to love George.
@@lisaa8795 I will grant George the 'unknowingly" part but there are way too many similarities with "He's so fine". Just as Paul told John that "Come together' was too similar to "You can't catch me",sadly no one was there to let George know. I must admit that "My Sweet lord" is a superior song to the other, though.
lmao. guy acknowledges ripping off a song (accidentally or not). while tons of artists do the same and side step the issue. 1 honest guy, hard to find these days. btw, this was a kick ass song to address the issue.....f
There's only 8 notes ( not including flats, and sharps of every note), so eventually two songs would sound the same. Did anyone else realize that maybe it happened by accident other than George? Ronnie Mack who wrote 'He's So Fine' was prolly a broke ass, and needed the money, so he accused George of plagiarizing. Listen to Dani California, and Mary Jane's Last Dance. Songs sounding the same happens, and I feel that George (his family) should get an apology for all the court bs George had to go
maddogoz08 A even better video of "live music" not so live is Alan Jackson at the 1994 ACM awards "singing live" ( yea right lol) "Gone Country " ( check out the drummer )
How in God's earth did they get George to stand in front of a studio audience and mime his way through this song? It seems completely out of character for him to do something like this.

! Qué guapo ! ¡ Cómo le brillan los ojos ! ❤ Eres un ser de luz ! Be happy George! ❤ !
Didn’t he ended up buying the company that was suing him over the my sweet lord fiasco and then just dropping the lawsuit.
It's been 20 years, George. You are still missed.
My favorite Beatle.
Mine, too! And I was a teenager when Beatlemania hit the U.S.
This was such a great song. George's genius is finally being recognized.

Crazy how you can miss an artist without ever meeting them
GEORGE HARRISON FOREVER
If l could tell George that he's the most amazing Singer,l love him with all my heart ❤

Truly, George Harrison’s music conveys a talent and depth not often seen in today’s musicians.
Today's music is no comparison at all. It's that awful.
@@LisaGemini Today's stuff is not even music. It's noise from the pits of hell.
He's so cute! I love this guy, I've never before seen this video, this is great!
What a sensation! An Ex-Beatle 1977 in german tv!!!! I‘d looked it live in tv with tears in my eyes! A great song too!!!
"Without you there´s no point to this song".
If George had been wearing glasses here, he would’ve been a dead ringer for Weird Al.
Oh yeah, the perm period!
Viva Harrison!
É BR tbm kkkkkk

This Song is from the album 33 & 1/3...which George did a lot of promotion for that lp
Decades later, still top-shelf clever
oh my god I just love his hair! ♥
Hannah Spackman ....and who does not ???
Dicen que era muy suave y olía rico y osea que si se bañaba y se perfumaba mmm😋
Great music value for us from George
Espetacular um Beatle.
hilarious "disco" by george!! he must enjoyed the irony of awkwardness of that! thanks for posting!
I still remember when I was watching this Geoge's performance in disco on ZDF in seventies as a teenager
gave it the up vote. Nice guy that He was.
Consider it done! 😀
I saw this when I was a teenager (long time ago now). I had a bit of a teenage crush on him!
What could he possibly be talking about? The most enigmatic track since How do you sleep.
Great way for George to have the last laugh on a bogus lawsuit. there is an MTV quality Video for this elsewhere, which was filmed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Love "This Song!!!
Definitely the coolest Beatle!
He sang along with the soundtrack. This is just for the picture - there's George, look, he's here
Never seen this one before!
Thank you for sharing !

Wah Wah was not co-written with Clapton.
It wasnt the idiotic attack so much as the idiotic decision - that a song-writer can rip off another, even unknowingly. Ridiculous.

Like everything from George - super!
Show, ouvindo agora do Brasil.
love you harrison
george: te amo, incluso con playback y permanente.
I love THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Definitely one that I'd like to cover one day
eu sou a pessoa mais apaixonada desse mundo
Mais um br por aqui kkkk
My beautiful angel...I miss your light so much!!!
If you don't dance to this, call the undertaker. YOU ARE DEAD. How could this audience not get up and dance? Good lord!
That's what I was thinking. Zombies would be more fun than this crowd. I mean this is GEORGE! 🤷🏻
Helps if it wasn’t a played over recording
Probably trying to keep him
Safe.
With the Bee Gees, & Abba dominating the charts, they see this as some old guy mouthing and strumming a dud.
He looks gaunt and emaciated.
¡Estoy flipando!💖
lmao. guy acknowledges ripping off a song (accidentally or not). while tons of artists do the same and side step the issue. 1 honest guy, hard to find these days. btw, this was a kick ass song to address the issue.....f
That just might be the best lip sync in the history or lip syncing. :)
I can't believe I've never seen this before!!! Did he do any other 33 1/3 songs on this show?
Quite the full mane of hair on George!
1:28 What a sh*t-eatin grin! Did this song help him recoup the costs of the He's So Fine lawsuit? Inquiring minds want to know.
Oddly enough it sounds just like the album version...:-p
Guitars not connected
George looking around on stage for the other Beatles
Клёво!!
RIP
wow he was in on a tv-show in germany(powert by ilja richter)

I can see the disconfort of George for the playback
Jeff Lynne did George's hair!! :-) hahaa!
@brianmayforreal
Glad George ran for the exits.
It's a shame. With not plugged in guitar and backing record to give a performance on TV, it's silly
This other version is longer and better quality
ua-cam.com/video/wyXvMMYpfKA/v-deo.html
Best lip syncher ever!
George Harrisons drip tho
George is not singing, hes mouthing the words.
Almost every TV show in the 70s was lip sync. Very rare to hear live music then, although in the US we had the Midnight Special.
The music video of This Song has Ronnie Woods in drag
Why have George on your TV show if you're only going to make him mime????
I guess this was lip synched on German tv and a better copy of it was added. Still enjoyable to see George again.
This video was posted 10 years after George got stabbed in his home, too painthful to think about the happening
Moustashes made him look 20 years older.
Looks like George plays most of the chords mid-neck.
HA his guitar wasn't even connected!
makes me wonder if he was really singing then
maddogoz08 A even better video of "live music" not so live is Alan Jackson at the 1994 ACM awards "singing live" ( yea right lol) "Gone Country " ( check out the drummer )
JR Ewing Who cares, Enjoy the performance....
kenc1161 i'm not complaining, i'm just pointing it out
Lol hell you could put George up there with a accordian or a flutaphone and I would still love this guy....Peace...
2x creates a different song
copyrigh is not Harrisongs is ZDF
@Upers1 its a tv show, duhh...
No plug, no chord hooked into the guitar.
Que importa, solo ver a George Harrison ❤es genial
This Song has as much bounce as Silly Love Songs. George got sued so he wrote a hit.
The late, great and and all so wonderful George Harrison LIP SYNCING in 1977?!?!?!? That's just SO WRONG.
How in God's earth did they get George to stand in front of a studio audience and mime his way through this song? It seems completely out of character for him to do something like this.
that perm was so bloody aweful. Thank god when it grew out.
se parece a santana george en ese look jajajajajaja
Good Eurovision song...??
The trolls havent found this video yet....I love George but I cant stop staring at the dislike button.
Because of the lyrics?
…perm days…lol 😂
Al lado de Lennon no existe
Lip synced it.
What was the point of this? Lol his guitar's not even plugged in!
Fish out of water
mike barnett that's not Chris squire
Big shame
i love george but what a nasty playback
