I’m brand new to tuning and have to say between you and Joe Simpson I am a hell of a lot more informed than I was a week ago. Awesome stuff man, thank you!!
Wanted to say thanks Devin. Your directions on setting up smooth bump-in worked really well for me. On the street only staging around 3,700 rpm I had to lower my PWM to mid 50s to get movement, but it was very smooth. So bring on the 1 second reaction limit at Sick Week....
Thank you so much. This is such invaluable information. Really like the 20v inputs so you can tie two inputs to a single output. Learned a bunch just with the difference between pwm negative and positive.
I like this dictator style teaching we need more of it in this world. Lmao see the problem we have is everyone wants instant gratification and they wont read the instructions. Lol it's not that difficult. At least that's my opinion. Read people read lol
When wiring your solenoids, if you designate one has pwm negative and one pwm positive, do you still wire them the same. 12v positive from each one, and the other wires go to the input/output harness?
im super lost I want to use my button from my shifter for transbrake only..its set up in the holley already tuner said "you need a push button and wire one wire to ground and the other wire to input 2 (white/red stripe) then use output 3 (grey/black stripe) for ground signal to transbrake relay" how do I do this with a 5 pin relay or i will still need a SSR?
@@theholleyefiguy I've used Davis, smooth stage and tried the Holley right before I installed the Leash. I prefer the Leash. Once u fine tune the bump then u can program it to bump multiple times for one push of the button. Keeps u consistent and stops the car from rocking.Have u used the Leash one?
@@k20edef1 ive used them all. when done the way i set them up they dont bump, the creep. you hold the button and it slides into the second bulb. it also never has to be adjusted for leaving on more power or less.
Thank you Devin another good informative video. I had a question, Holley sells the kit for TransBrake connections. I expect that it is for stray voltage or something. I bought one and I'm still not sure about it and don't see it in your diagram. PT# 554-128 TB Input Protection...???
I love the sarcasm I had to pause the video so I could didn’t miss any thing. But I have terminator and use PWM out put and tie it to my TPS to control a PWM to roll in on the brake on the floor it’s 100% duty and as I roll off it starts to decrease till the car rolled forward then when I want to stop I push it to the floor agen and I’m staged.
Great video i have the msd ssr that has 4 outputs pos or neg triggered will that work for transbrake/ bump it is pwm capable already have it so if i dont have to buy a new ssr Thanks
Could I just use the MSD P#75643-HC solid state relay with multi channels and dedicate a channel to the trans brake? You can control the channel with a ground or a 12v source...
Great video! I have one problem on my terminator x on inputs I only have 12v, So set my trans button to 12v and bump button 12v because. It doesn't give me the option for 20v. Can I set both to 12v and still work?
if i have the terminator, regarding the (PWM -) coming from the SSR, should i hook it up to one the outputs and give it ground activation demand from the PCM?
How's your neighborhood with you testing the bump function on the cars you build? No retirees or young families I presume? Or is this in an industrial area?
How would you go about using the bump button as the scramble afterwards. I’d be Leary about using the trans brake button even with the wheel speed qualifiers.
So with this method do you not need to add in the 554-128 Module ? I know your older video you had it in there but that was a few years ago. Thanks for all the videos
Devin i got my new brake setup today exactly as you show but im having a strange issue. If i set the duty cycle on the bump above 72% it will not pulse the transbrake. Do you have any ideas on this?
Hey Devin, Which way is better to wire the bump? The older video you made with the TB switch between the 12 volt source and the relay or this current way in this video? Thanks for all the valuable videos!
Probably a dumb question, but if you use the optional button power 12v do you tie the orange wire of the SSR into that off the ECU instead of battery power
This is my first time ever messing with any kind of tuning but I have everything wired up just like the diagram and I’m setting it up in the software, where do I land the staging output? Does it land with the bump output or am I missing wiring something else as a separate output? It won’t let me pin map it with the bump output..
Same question I have. I don't understand how this enables the trans brake as well as the bump function when doing it on a TermX or doing V5 staging since you cant pin 2 outputs together. The way I understand it the TB would only ever be pulsed and never fully set, unless im missing something obvious im kinda stuck there.
@@YaM0MsAh03 when you setup staging it automatically creates the output and you just map it to whatever pin your transbrake is wired to…then the two inputs (brake/bump) control the one output. Transbrake button applies the solenoid and the bump button pulses the solenoid

Hey Devin, I see WHY you used the 20v input for the bump button. But I was wondering, would it be okay to just use the 12v input. Let me explain why I ask. I use a scramble button (I know you hate that) and I only have the option of assigning that button 12v or ground. My scramble button and my bump button use the same button on my steering wheel as I've used boost leash in the past but am now switching to holley. Could I not just use a 12v input and split it at 6.5 is 85%, etc. Not sure if it matters but I run a 16v battery with an alternator. Thanks for the content man!
For anyone else who had this question. I figured out why you need the 20V input, you can not display a 12v input on the PWM x or y axis table. Guess I'm not running a scramble button anymore.
I love the relay rant, I do industrial control work for a living and I just cringe every time I open a cabinet and see no name buttons and switches. Just buy the good stuff one time and be done with it.
Great video Devin! I followed your instructions to a T but I think I'm ahead of myself a little. I'm running the HP ecu. I set rev limiter #1 for launch RPM but where do I assign it to inputs....staging input #1 or staging input #2?
