My first experience with EFI and getting the idle was not that difficult, just don't be afraid to make changes and observe what they do, I've attempted an advance ICF to get a more rowdy idle, would love to see what that should look like. I paid for your "tune the trilogy", money well spent, made getting the car running and running reasonably well way less frustrating.
wanted to thank you for your knowledge and sharing. i work at a classic vw/porsche shop, and were completing our first holley conversion on an air cooled porsche, in all honesty, thanks to your videos breaking it all down. ive been learning form you and hearing other tuners confirm your tuning theorys/with the holley parameters over tha past few months, and that gave us the confidence to venture into ecu tuning/swaping carburetors for the snipers... so thank you, many times over. youve impacted a my life. my workplaces future. and you secretly made a 914 porsche customer very very happy with his lil weekend ripper too!
"now you can drink busch light and grow a mullet" lol that is the quote of the week. thank you for good, honest, keep it real kinda videos. Its definitely helping me to get more comfortable messing with my sniper efi system being a tuning noob.
This was honestly super helpful, i assumed i “had” to have the correct iac type selected and the car is always very slow to return to target idle when putting it in gear , going to switch to fast or custom and get it dialed in !
Im still used to keeping my hand on the keyboard from using CAD and Solidworks so its more natural. When you select the row or column of cells you can press the letter R to interpolate the row and Letter C to interpolate the column or Letter S to smooth selected cells. All the hot keys make it so much easier to navigate the software. Letter O is for your offset of selected items.
Appreciate the content bro…Q&A-> i have a L8T gen v…thinking about going port injection and trying to keep the 6l90 i got with it…problem is the holley 6L controller only interfaces with the Term x max, do you ever see holley making the stand alone trans controller working with the HP/ Dom’s…
I bet the answer is get the "tune the trilogy" series, LOL! This is just a guess, but I bet it's this: 1) the engine has some off the shelf cam with 210 to 225 degrees intake duration at 0.050" lift. 2) the idle stayed the same speed while vacuum dropped, so timing was retarded and the IAC opened to keep the idle speed where it's set.
I've got this little annoyance I can't seem to figure out. 6 speed manual car with cable throttle body, go to creep the clutch out without any throttle to pull forward a few feet in a drive-thru, clutch back in to stop and it revs up just a smidge, and just for a second. Always sounds like I'm revving my shit like an asshole lol.
Sooooo, this is what Martian speak sounds like. Never been to Mars, but always wanted to learn to speak the language. I.e., if the IAC control is this complicated, better run back to the good old fashion carb. Going to take four Ibuprofens.
You and Steve Morris are the only vids I can watch that is just explanations of things...but still miss seeing your in car tuning vids too.

You put a sniper on a 914? 😁
Joe i really like the way you explain things. I will be getting your Tune the Trilogy when I am ready. Your dry sense of humor is great as well 👍
Your the best Joe I've learned so much from your videos

Fantastic video - it just makes me want to get over to the course and watch all of those videos too! ....I should probably go do that now.

could you do a video on mitigating low rpm bucking on cammed stick cars?
Thanks for all you do
Hell yea your videos are pure gold! I downloaded your PDF sheet and got my idle dialed in perfectly.
Thanks for taking the time and sharing your knowledge
Great video Joe. Thanks
Thank you Joe....

I wish I had a Holley equipped car to tune. One day if I do, I'll definitely buy Tune The Trilogy.
Joe, thanks for the video, but I have a question. What are you using as an engine simulator?
I have the same question
Side question. Can you control each injector on a 4150 Throttle body seperately?
When Soulja Boy came up I almost died laughing😂I was thinking the same thing
So....for a friend...how did you set up switch 2 idle... 😅
Do you have a course for hondata or fuel tech
Love the video
thanks joe
On setting no 2 , on the custom table how do you make it swing the timing to create that loppey idle ?
I bet the answer is get the "tune the trilogy" series, LOL! This is just a guess, but I bet it's this:

All you do is make an ADV table to control timing offsets
Thank you can I have the pdf

Hey man id like to inquire about tuning my car. Do you have a website
How can I get the tune switch on my vehicle
Were u at I need your help
Joe knows.
I almost get it , then it slips away, HAA HA . I see the value in just playing around with the settings, I can't ruin anything doing that can I?

Joe, I wish you could help me on my project… can you contact me?
