I've been cutting my own hair since I was like 16. Have only been to a salon a few times in the last decade. I love doing it myself! I did a version of the wolf cut to mine but a little less shag like. So really just a haircut with layers lol I'm happy with it and that's what matters, thanks Brad for your tutorials they always have me trying new stuff

former dog groomer + longtime DIY haircutter here: I know hairdressers are super particular about their shears + tools, but dog groomers are too! every groomer I've ever known has said they would never use their tools on human hair haha
Yep, sewers are freaking serious about their scissors and such, too! :-) I've got 40 yr old shears that have NEVER touched anything but fabric and thread! Used to teach sewing, and literally used a padlock on the handles of any scissor I brought to class so students wouldn't wander off with mine. hahaha
@@leapintothewild lol scissor people being serious about their scissors is really cute for some reason i just love the look of the really fancy ones and really get why you wouldn't want to cut anything but some stuff but i personally have cut my hair with any kind of them even with nail clippers lmao and it was okay
@@_sch_eme_ I agree, if the tool works, doesn't matter what it was "supposed" to be for! There's a reason I keep old knitting needles in the garage! hahaha BUT.... yes, some tools can be damaged if you use them for the wrong thing, so that's why scissor people are pretty uptight. :-) Some of my Gingher sewing shears are 45 yrs old and still perfect, even know how to properly sharpen them -- and they're about $75 to replace these days. I knew hairdressers with $500 scissors, and that was 20 yrs ago! But if you don't need such things, Sally has great hair scissors for $20 and Fiskars makes those orange-handled sewing scissors for about $15, though they won't make it through a sharpening. I'd love to see a nail clipper hairstyle!! Maybe an idea for a Brad video...
@@leapintothewild Sewer here! My ex BROKE my sewing scissors by trying to use them to pry some metal stuff! I cried.. lol Luckily he replaced them with an even better pair so I forgave him.. LOL

My cosmetology teacher in highschool preferred dry cutting over wet cutting she’s the only hairdresser i know with that preference but she was onto something tbh i love a good dry cut to this day
I like my hair dry cut because my hair forms ringlets and does NOT look good when cut straight across (stays heavy at the ends and becomes a weird shape) so I do best when I cut the strands unevenly so it’s more balanced. Every time I get it professionally cut, though, they do it wet and it looks bad for months until it grows out.
@@Iluvpie6 Yes!! I’ve personally had more success dry cutting on textured hair as when ur wet cutting it’s hard to consider the hair pattern as u go. Some curls dry tighter than others it’s hard to predict that on wet hair
You need an award for completely changing diy hair game and educating the masses. Like you’re a household name at this point lol. I’ve so enjoyed watching you over the years. You can truly see the changes in the hair community.
I always say that you are gifted with finding the most incompetent people on the planet but I may have to do back flips with this one. Congrats on finding people that actually follow directions 👏🤸♀️
Wow!! Thank you Brad! ❤ Your explanation about layers concerning thin hair finally cleared up years of confusion! I have thin hair but have always loved a layered cut.
My stylist knows me for my 6”+ chops. She LOVES it, the excitement she gets cutting off my pony or shaving in a Mohawk. ❤️ go for it if you are thinking about a big chop.
Just loosely followed this tutorial today after not having my longgg hair cut in 1.5 years and had bleach in it from then, which has grown out with brown roots. Best. Haircut. EVER. And the roots look like an on-purpose ombre. I went up to my chin with the layers and I still have my length. This was the perfect cut for my wild spirit, with fine hair that's naturally a little wavy and squirrely, that gets flat when it's too long (so the layers are perfect). I air dry my hair and this was the perfect cut. Thanks for all your videos Brad! Just found you when researching this. I feel like I have asked stylists for most of my adult life to cut it like this but they never would do it; always saying that my hair would look too thin...FALSE it gives it SO much more volume b/c of how my hair is. A word out there to others: it may actually be amazing even if you haver thinner hair (of course depending on the personal nature of your hair).
Love you, Brad!😍 I took off six inches, pulled the sides over snip snip, and I am happy with the results!😁 I'm two hours away from the end of a 48 hour fast, lost 8 pounds of water off my ankles, and I'm ready for a CHANGE! Thank you, thank you!!! You have made me happy! Let me go try on those new pants I couldn't get in before! Sorry, I have no pictures to send.🙄
Brad is just so wholesome. If I ever decide to completely shake things up with my thick, curly hair, I will definitely be watching a ton of these amazing videos so I don’t screw things up!! Love you!!!! ❤️
I did it too turned out sooo good waaaay better than I expected thank you so much i live in place where hairdressers are rare so to have my dream hair is such big thing to mee
This gave me the incentive to go and give myself a haircut! I was due, after all. I’m so happy! It looks great! We’re on a tight budget, so I’m cutting my own hair now. I really appreciate your tutorials. I’ve learned so much, and your reaction videos have also taught me what not to do. You’re helping a lot of people, Brad. You should be proud. 🙂
I did your layered cut tutorial (with excellent help from my husband) and I am LIVING. My thin and fine hair is soooo much better, I enjoy it so much more! I can't afford to see a professional hairdresser, so you help so much. Thank you Brad 🧡
The last girl encouraged me to do the wolf cut! I also have thin hair and I was scared to do the wolf cut because I was hearing the same about layers on thin hair... But she looks so good! And maybe I'm gonna look that good too :D
Same! The last girl inspires me, too. I have very thin hair, especially on the top and front, so I hope some layering will bring a bit more life into it.
I've always had thin hair and my stylist when I was younger proved to me that layers are actually really really nice even on thin hair as long as they're done right. Go for it girl!
Everyone looks GORGEOUS and I'm emotional for THEM emotional for BRAD for making awesome tutorials that are executable this was such a heartwarming video to watch (especially after binging 6 bleach fail ones)

I also love the train wrecks lol it shows me what not to do too . lol I'm def going to try this on my long curly hair . Wish me luck !!
I have been doing this since I saw that video, and I always like it. I keep saying I am going to salon next time, but I am an introvert and giving myself one more wolf cut puts the social anxiety on the backburner for a while longer. Thanks Brad. You are a good coach!
I remember the first time my aunt cut my hair like this she literally cut like 5 inches off and I almost started crying and then when I let my hair down it actually looked like my hair had grown because the shorter layers make the longer parts of your hair look longer. Just go for it.
I just did this cut on my hair and cut off WELL more than 6-8 inches. I followed your vid to the letter, watched it 54 times & knocked it out of the park! I love it! My hair falls a few inches below my shoulders & I LOVE IT! And I swear I didn’t use kitchen scissors! Hehe ✌🏽
I followed Brad’s wolf cur tutorial when i cut my boyfriend’s hair and it came out really awesome, but since he has wavy hair the layers look so good!! I couldn’t believe it how awesome his hair looked when i took the off the hair band. In my opinion this hair style looks much better when you have wavy hair. Honestly I dont think it would look as good on my straight hair as it looks on my boyfriend’s .
Often layers blend better on straight hair if you soften the edge while it's still in the ponytail: just do a little point-cutting or use thinning shears about 1/4-1/2" from the new ends -- it keeps them from being too hard or choppy. (this also works great on really thick hair so it's not too chunky) Anyway, layers on straight hair can give you a lot of pretty movement! So cool that you cut his hair :-)
I have a genuine phobia of getting my hair cut so I have been trimming my own hair for years but my hair had got very long and was tough to make it look nice. My natural 2b/2c waves were lank as well. I have done the "unicorn" cut for years but I followed Brad's tutorials. I cut a couple of inches off the length first then followed the wolf cut tutorial and lost about 7" off my length. It was scary but the results were amazing! I now love my shorter hair, the curls are bouncy and it's easier to tie up. I absolutely love it!
Great job Brad! I have long curly hair and I've been wanting to get some layers for a while now. I'll try to follow your tutorial and hopefully ill succeed. Pray for me!
BRADD i was skeptical about following the wolf cut tutorial at first, but somehow it ended up AMAZING and ppl always ask me which hairdresser i go to(and i get to brag a little bit each time LOL) TYSM!!
Lol!!!! I just followed one of your tutorials yesterday!!!! And I did the shag/wolf cut with the bangs when that video came out! I was never allowed to have anything but long hair as a little girl! You’ve given me the confidence to follow your videos and go for it! My hair has come out perfect every time so far! ❣️❣️❣️ thank you brad!!!! 😍
Anyone else just watch these videos for hours almost every night until you fall asleep?!? 🤩 I literally want to try every hair style and color! So many hair styles so little time 🤣
Wait I'm so glad I came across this because I've been needing a hair cut and was about to go after my shower right now and now I'm feeling ballsy to follow your tutorial!✨💕 thanks Brad!!
No video, but I did this cut last night and it looks sooo good. I have hair down to my waist, so I took about 20cm off of the ponytail. The layering start at the middle of my shoulderblades, with the sides a bit shorter. I cut my already existing bangs like '70 bangs. My hair is naturally straight, but with a bit of thinning out (seen in another brad video) it just flows. I absolutely LOVE IT. Thank you Brad!
I was blown away by the third? Girl in the blue short…. She looked muuch older and… different before she started cutting her hair - then once i saw her face and that styke on her is LIT - Jennifer Garnder vibes fo sho ❤ gawgeous!
Ok Brad, can we get a easy boys haircut tutorial?! My sons are special needs and I "cut" both of their hair at home. Basically I use clippers and shave it down to one length. I think they need a upgrade! Help me out!
Yeah, that would be awesome! I cut my autistic son's hair the same way as you do. I'd like him to have it a bit longer on the top, but I have no idea how to cut it so it's still shorter around the ears and back of his neck.
I'm addicted to these videos..... i've been cutting my own hair since i was in my early 20's & now I'm 43, still cutting my own hair ....it gives me ideas how to cut my own hair.. in creative ideas
Brad I really need to do a video one of these days where I follow your tutorial because I've been cutting my own hair for 10years now and it was a game changer when I actually started doing more than trimming my own hair and cutting my hair short to actually following your tutorials for layers, layered framing, curtain bangs/bangs, shaggy bob to wolf cut. I just trimmed my hair and did a wolf cut this weekend and really need to video it next time.
Now that you have done the wolf cut tutorial and so many people have tried it and they have followed your instructions and got good results. I think its time for you to do another style tutorial. perhaps a BOB or a BOWL CUT or a PIXIE CUT .or perhaps a video tutorial on how to properly do FOILS when dying your hair. there are so many tutorials you can do. I love watching both your tutorials but also your reaction to people following your tutorials. anyone reading please like this comment so brad can see it. also comment other tutorials you would enjoy watching....or just comment and tell Brad how much you love him. Anyone who is a true Brad Mondo fan knows he like so many of us struggle with anxiety on occasion and he has A.D.H.D or O.C.D. i'm not sure which and it doesn't matter. the point is we love him and we don't expect or need perfection from you. if you are having an off day, say that in the video and don't feel like you have to perform for us. so many people suffer with different mental health issues and no one talks about it out of fear of how others will react to it. Or fear of being judged unfairly for it. we need more people like you, who have a large following and fan base to speak up. I can't tell you how much I love and respect you. THANK YOU BRAD. if you are still reading this thank you and I appreciate you. please like and or comment so Brad can see this
I think a bob would be really hard to do on yourself. I'm sure someone does it amazingly, but I can't imagine trying to cut such a straight line on the back of my own head, in the mirror so everything is backwards... I'm getting stressed just imagining lol. My impression is a bob is a real test of a hairstylist's skill, particularly a bob on straight coarse hair. It hides nothing - every mistake you make will be highlighted in a straight bob. Where as in my wavy, shaggy rats nest of a cut, I could probably chop a chunk off, and no one would notice except my hairstylist friends. 😅
Omg I love that you included Evelina. Her Brad tutorial was the only one I found where someone had hair as long as mine and didn't fuck it up 😂 Because of her, I did this cut myself a few months ago and HONEY the relief I got from having lighter bouncier hair. YES thank you Brad! ❤️🥰🙌
It was amazing to see this cut worked for hairstyles of all lengths, from the super long to the really short. I tried doing this tutorial on myself about two months ago (my hair is just at my shoulders and is a little more fine) and when I was done, I saw there was some layering, but not a lot. But now watching this video, I’m realizing how much more I needed to actually cut off in order for there to be layers. so I’m going to try it again and see what happens! So excited!
I cut 6 inches 1st cut and i couldn’t even tell a difference it took around 8-10 inches but my hair was to my waist but now is just 3/4 down my back definitely love it. I tried the unicorn & pony cut 1st but loved this one way better
Yes! I did the unicorn & pony last night, cut about 10 inches. My hair is still down my back and ab shoulder length in the front but I want more layers so thinking of doing this one now!
i literally just did this the other day following your exact tutorial and i love how my hair looks! less wolfy and more layer-y, but i love it just the same! will probably experiment with a shorter wolfier cut soon 🥰

LOL
@SHARON Vad YAY! so happy to hear that Sharon! I bet it looks great :)
Brad, you should totally do a video reacting to people with curly hair following your wolf cut tutorial. You would luv to see that
Brad is like the teacher we all wish we had! Always proud of us for trying and always encouraging us to keep going and keep being adventurous and try new things with our hair! We love you brad! ❤️❤️❤️ xx
Look at Brad saving lives one successful wolf cut at a time. You love to see it 💛
You need an award for completely changing diy hair game and educating the masses.
Is it just me, or does everyone feel like Brad is their bestie when they're watching his videos...?!? 🤔🤩
The last girl's, "I look cool as fuck" moment was SO livable, I loved it lol.
Hey… there’s Evelina! She’s gonna go crazy that you reviewed her video. She always looks great with every hair change and look that she does.
I followed Brad's tutorial on the wolf cut and it went so well, I just love it. Thank you so much Brad, you're amazing.
I did it yesterday. turned out magnifically. really helps my wavy hair be wavy, because I have "too much hair" that becomes heavy and waveless.
Those ladies did incredible! Brad you’re amazing. I love your whole vibe and your personality is so endearing. ❤
Everyone looks GORGEOUS and I'm emotional for THEM emotional for BRAD for making awesome tutorials that are executable
this was such a heartwarming video to watch (especially after binging 6 bleach fail ones)
I've only recently found Brad Mondo and have been binge watching his reaction videos , love them . lol And I love when they go right for all the people who try his tutorials . I also love the train wrecks lol it shows me what not to do too . lol I'm def going to try this on my long curly hair . Wish me luck !!
Welcome to the club lol 😂
RECORD IT
I just did the wolf cut, honestly it gave me 80s rocker/Joan Jett vibes, loving it!!!
Ok but that first person would look SO GOOD with a completely slicked back look
So true
I have been doing this since I saw that video, and I always like it. I keep saying I am going to salon next time, but I am an introvert and giving myself one more wolf cut puts the social anxiety on the backburner for a while longer. Thanks Brad. You are a good coach!
I remember the first time my aunt cut my hair like this she literally cut like 5 inches off and I almost started crying and then when I let my hair down it actually looked like my hair had grown because the shorter layers make the longer parts of your hair look longer. Just go for it.
Literally crying over how sweet your reactions are. I love that you’ve gotten so famous because you are so genuine and you love your viewers
Hehe ✌🏽
You’re a legend! Especially being a hairstylist, giving people actual useful tips on cutting their own hair…well!🖤
I loved them all! Especially that last one. She looks amazing with the wolf cut!
Brad: “cut little bits at a time and you can always go shorter.”
Also Brad: “just chop it all off to begin with” 😂
I followed Brad’s wolf cur tutorial when i cut my boyfriend’s hair and it came out really awesome, but since he has wavy hair the layers look so good!!
Let us know. 😁👍 Good luck.
Let us know ahahahaah 😊💗
@@magilysm will do! 💜
@@Tabetha. Will do! 💞
BRADD i was skeptical about following the wolf cut tutorial at first, but somehow it ended up AMAZING and ppl always ask me which hairdresser i go to(and i get to brag a little bit each time LOL) TYSM!!
watching Brad's videos makes me want to impulsively cut my hair.
So many hair styles so little time 🤣
The last girl looks adorable!!! I am so glad she took the plunge because she changed everything. Bravo!!!!
Yes Brad slay with the outfit! Looking beautiful, gorgeous, stunning today 😍
Im so glad you finally reacted to the last video! I saw her video a few weeks ago and shes so wholesome and adorable lmao i love you Brad!! 😘
Thank you Brad!
beautiful day to watch beautiful brad ❤️ thank you for posting for us everyday !
I just did the tutorial!!!
Shoulder length ombré to super short super light hair w a wolf cut!
I love it ❤
I was blown away by the third? Girl in the blue short…. She looked muuch older and… different before she started cutting her hair - then once i saw her face and that styke on her is LIT - Jennifer Garnder vibes fo sho ❤ gawgeous!
Super great seeing some shorter hair versions. I have been wanting to do this but don't have super long hair and mine is fine as well!
@@noplacelikehome1361 You're both amazing parents.
I'm addicted to these videos..... i've been cutting my own hair
since i was in my early 20's & now I'm 43, still cutting my own hair
....it gives me ideas how to cut my own hair.. in creative ideas
For those in the back: If you do exactly what Brad instructs, you’ll end up with great results! 😉
😁👍 yes.
Believe me I could follow his instructions to a T and somehow things would end up horribly
THANK YOU BRAD. if you are still reading this thank you and I appreciate you. please like and or comment so Brad can see this
Just wrote a super long comment.
I would LOVE a bowlcut tutorial.
A bowl cut is one of my top requests too. Funny everything old is new again lol
Yay, finally reacted to Evelina! I'd love to see you reacting to more of her hair videos, she is amazing and I love her hair videos!!
So excited!
i would be SUPER into seeing you react to the turmeric hair dye, that sounds WILD!
I watch one of these this morning! where you reacted to people following your wolf cut tutorial and all looked good! Excited for these ones!!!
Bitch same
I cut 6 inches 1st cut and i couldn’t even tell a difference it took around 8-10 inches but my hair was to my waist but now is just 3/4 down my back definitely love it.
I just thought, within 30 secs of you posting, when your next video would be!
BOOM!!! There you were, Brad. Thank you for not leavin’ a girl hangin’! lol
Love brad mondo! Last night I finally gave myself the wolf cut and it might be the first hair cut that really has complimented my curls. I love it! Thank you brad!
this is crazy timing cause i literally just followed your tutorial yesterday and cut my own hair into a wolf cut and it came out AMAZING!! thank you for the tips!!
Brad, you said something about having a hard time with your hair here... I think it looks HANDSOME.
Awww yeah, get the popcorn ready!! 🍿
Best video of the day!!! I stress out over these ladies then I’am so relieved how fabulous they look!!!
I did one and it turned out great! I just didn’t film it 😅 went from black box dye with purple arctic fox on money pieces to natural copper red with wolf cut 🔥
My sister followed your tutorial perfectly
Watched this video last night, then watched the wolf cut tutorial video. And now I have a wolf cut as of today. Followed Brad's tutorial and oh my god it is the easiest thing ever and I am OBSESSED. Also, dyed my hair blue, green and purple sooo I look pretty cool if I do say so myself. Thanks Brad!
I always love a hair fail video but this was a nice change. Seeing people happy with their hair is surprisingly uplifting. But I guess you knew that.
Omg, they all look great. That last girl's shag is TOO cute on her! Brad you've gotta be so proud of your students ^^
I’ve been letting my hair grow out lately and it looks terrible. Kind of tempted to watch your tutorial video and see if it’s something I could pull off… 🥺

DID U DO IT
@@annafromhsm 😅 I did. But I hate taking photos of myself (my display pic was taken when I had 1 kid, instead of 3 lmao)
It came out really nice though. I even put a half pony up so I could get better layers, since my hair was already short. My bangs came out a bit wonky, but my hair is curly so it’s fine 🥹
I did the Wolf ✂️ 2 months ago, LOVED it. Colored my hair!! Then saw the butterfly cut 4 weeks later and did that IN LOVE!! THANKS BRAD!!
My mom literally just followed your tutorial on my sisters hair yesterday and it was so cool and easy to watch her do it
These women look amazing This is the proof that Brad Mondo home self hair cutting tutorials when followed PROPERLY really turn out brilliantly!

OBSESSED with these videos and I've been staying up way too late watching them. I want to go people-watching with Brad. In Montreal, where nobody shies away from fun colour and wacky cuts, no matter their age! Brad, are you listening?! 🤩
I tried this on my hair and it looks amazing
After watching one of your videos on this I decided to use this method to put some layers into my three daughters hair! Thank you! It’s not exactly like this but I did do the high pony to make the layers. 💞 it looks soooo gooood and made them feel so sassy! Lol
I am 52 and have been cutting my own hair most of my life, just did it again recently and went to a salon for color.... she checked my layers and I was off by ¼" in the back. With my curls, that's hard to see, and she literally did 3 other little snips where I missed a little
