I'm sorry you're dealing with angry hairdressers - I'm in a situation where I literally do not have the free time to get my hair done, and being able to follow your butterfly cut tutorial did SO MUCH for my mental health and well-being. Without something simple that I could rely on, I would have 100% just hacked off most of my hair in stress. So THANK YOU.

I think this is wonderful! Low income families can't afford to take everyone to the salon every 8-10 weeks, and they still deserve good haircuts. It can make such a difference in the children's confidence and unfortunately, how they are treated. I worked as a truancy officer...among other roles and duties, for 10 years and so many children refused to go to school because they were embarrassed about their hair. I wish I could have directed the families to you and Brad then.

This! Especially the recent years. The last 3 years has been hell for me-from losing my brother, being victim to an affair, and the anxiety and depression that came with both to almost losing our home or being able to put food on the table for our family. Even when I could afford to go to the salon, I felt so down on myself I couldn't pull myself up to do anything. Brad is the only stylist I watch. I'm finally at a point in my life again where I'm going to do something for ME. Some of us have to pamper ourselves because if we don't, no one else will. ❤😊

I agree! My sister and I have been getting haircuts religiously since august of last year. However, due to bills, and the affordable connectivity program ending, bills and rent going up, school coming up, im looking to cut down as much as possible. $25 isn’t bad for a haircut - at ALL. BUT we all need to save where we can! so I may just invest in doing this!

I live in rural village in India and am a fashion girlie at heart. We literally do not have any good salons here or in the nearby towns. The ones that are available have ruined my curly hair a couple of times. Also most people don't know how to deal with curly hair. I learned to cut my own hair by watching your videos and did a better job than them. I am so so thankful for these hair and beauty vidoes because learning how to groom myself has upped my confidence so so much. I feel amazing now. So, if there is anyone who is hating for these educational videos, they can go f**k themselves. We small town girlies also wanna slay and sometimes this is the only way we can. Also, thanks brad.. muahhh😘

The last time I went to a hairdresser I said (sort of apologetically) that my split ends were probably a bit bad because I swim a lot and I'd left it way longer than usual to get them trimmed. She picked some up between her fingers like she was picking a fly out of a turd, gave me stinkeye and said "Yeah... don't do that again." @@savage_girl_07 it looks okay! I think it depends on your face shape also! I have a rounded oval so between oval and round and it can look really nice with my natural slight wave when I let it air dry around the sides of my face but when I blow dry it straight or it's got no life the face framing parts look dead and cut off my face. But I only think that. And when I see others with unstyled hair o don't think that's what it looks like! But a tip o use to styley hair fast, I put it up in a high pony and I spilt the hair into two and each section I grab a thick chunk and curl it away from my face on both sides with a loose curl and then take your pony out and your hair has the beautiful wave!

Let me tell you something… I love Brad Mondo’s tutorial and they are so helpful. Hairdresser are mad, but most of them don’t even know how to cut or bleach hair properly. They burn, damage, and cut like a sh*t my hair. I had to do a short ass bob to regrow my hair. Now, distance of 2 years I have really long and shiny hair and I’m cutting it on my own with Brad mondo butterfly haircut tutorial and I cannot feel more better. THANK YOU BRAD I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL❤❤❤❤

Brad, I love you for showing us this cut. I have been going through some really hard times this past year with money after suffering an illness that took me out of work. I haven't been to a salon in over a year now but with the butterfly cut video that changed everything. This cut has saved my hair and saved me money. Believe me, when things are better in the future I'll be happy to go to the salon again, but for right now I can't thank you enough for showing us this cut!

Hi Brad! I had to jump on here just to thank you!! I'm a 57 yr old woman who can't seem to find a beautician to cut my hair properly, like tgdydid in my youth, so I started watching your videos on the Butterfly cut. I finally got the nerve to do it yesterday thinking, I can mess it up just as good as any salon so I went for it! I'm SHOCKED!! I now have bounce and life to my hair.. AND KEPT MY LENGTH!! I took off about 4 inches or so from cutting equal parts (front and back) and it's exactly what I've been wanting for years! Had I known how it would have turned out I would have recorded...anyway, thank you SO much for all your help!!

My Nan died in Jan and with no care I hadn't had a proper wash for 3 months and my hair was a matted mess. My DARLING neighbours took 2 days teasing and combing it out for me... We managed to get me in the longest bath ever to relax my muscles as much as possible b4 she washed hair for me and then following the butterfly tutorial with me directing to make sure sections and pony's in right place.
Then I could just about move shoulders enough to do the actual cuts.
I managed to not even need to do any cuts to connect it, was just right... But I did a bit more face framing with some over direction cutting.
Thanks to YOU wonderful gorgeous brad. I may not have had my normal rainbow hair for ages, but I looked like a styled actual human for my Nans funeral.

Competition shouldn't make people angry, it should teach you to do better, think better and become just as good as the next person that is thinking outside the box. Competition should make you raise your bar higher in order to not lose customers. If you arent doing that, but Brad is, adapting himself and giving what people want, well that's their problem and the other hairdressers should not be looking for sympathy but for ways to become just like Brad or better. Brad - who is not a hairstylist even though he titles his videos “hairdresser reacts” - isn’t qualified to be giving the advice he does and has led to many “fails” (his terms, not mine) that I also see in my chair regularly. THAT is what hairstylists are upset about. There are SO many licensed professionals that provide hair advice on social media. Brad is just a regular person giving hair advice but calling himself a hairstylist and that’s the issue. Not that he’s giving advice- but that he’s claiming to be a part of a group that does not claim him as he has no credentials.

Alright, then if we go by that credentials or not, I have met hairdressers with "credentials" who have done a mediocre job on my hair. Credentials don't make you better than others, and even if he calls himself a hairdresser and you do not agree to this, then that's your opinion if that stuff apparently offends your bones. But my opinion on this, hairdresser or not, the guy has more talent than some hairdressers with credentials. So hairdresser or not, the guy has talent that hasn't failed me and makes me feel that I can be on his level and have his skills instead of being patronized by "qualified hairdressers with credentials". And that's what I want. Raw talent. And he has my credibility to back him up, so he does have credentials: mine :) so he is a hairdresser. He knows his shit. All the tricks of a hairdresser he knows it, so why not call him a hairdresser? He proved me he is one anyway.

Brad, NEVER apologize for helping out people that can't afford salons. There will always be lazy and/or rich ppl (or those that can't cut their own hair for various other reasons) that'll still keep salons open. For the rest of us, especially in this crap economy, we really appreciate tutorial videos like yours (and good lord, it's not like you are the ONE and ONLY person on social media doing that 🙄). I'm so glad you give zero effs and aren't apologizing to the bratty people complaining.
All throughout my 40 yr life, I only had TWO people do my hair that actually knew how to work with my hair type, which is both extremely fine in strand and extremely thin in amount (yay me). Going to salons were quite traumatizing for me otherwise since they treated my hair the way they would a regular person and that meant they ALWAYS cut too much off or cut the layers too thick. Then when my hair pretty much all but fell out completely and I started wearing wigs, I just started trimming what was left of my natural hair at home since I don't really care what it looks like anymore. Still, I do way better than 99% of stylists ever did. Then about 5 yrs ago, my mom, who used to go to salons all the time (her hair is normal), asked me to cut her hair since she noticed me cutting mine. I told her I have no clue what I was doing but she insisted. After looking up some tutorials (of which weren't even yours at the time), I attempted my first haircut on someone else. It wasn't terrible, but not great. Then after finding videos (again, not yours) of these ponytail tricks, I've now refined being able to cut layers on her and it now comes out the same or even better than what she would get at most salons! It's actually quite irritating how easy it is to cut beautiful layers using the ponytail methods only because I wish I would have known sooner! 😄😄
I'm sure hair dressers are just upset people learned a very easy trick that could save them hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. You weren't the first to show us and won't be the last. I think you're just being caught in the middle of their crossfire towards the general tutorial community because of your popularity, but it's definitely not your fault and you're helping BOTH stylists and people that can't afford them. So here's a long-winded thank you!! 😅😋😂

Love this! They all turned out so good! I would absolutely love a reaction video to Mia Maples chaotic haircut - that was a rollercoaster!!

Every time I see hairstylists ripping people to shreds for trying to do things at home it just makes me seethe. Not everyone has the funds, the physical ability, the transportation, the location access, ETC ETC ETC to go to a salon. You have no idea what someone has happening in their life, not everyone can “jUsT gO tO tHe sAlOn!!!!”

Nobody rips anybody to shreds, it's called criticism. It's your decision whether you take it in and let it make you insecure or not.

Honestly I’m glad you’re making these videos helping us do our own hair cause too many hair dressers fucked our shit up and we fed up 😂

As a hairdresser, I actually appreciate your tutorials because I have the opportunity to fix people's hair when they mess up! 😂

I actually enjoyed this more than the fail videos. It's so satisfying to see people be happy and proud of their results!
