I recently had to cut all of my hair off, full buzzcut. I bleached and dyed it one too many times to the point where it wouldn’t even get dry because it was so desperate to retain the moisture. It could be called "Making the Cut." It's basically what you are doing now by watching all of these people cut their own hair, except you would be judging them in a competition. I would watch it.

When my hair gets dried out, it's holds onto oil for dear life and gets gross quick. But cutting it at that point has taught me to love on my natural hair as much as possible because my fro is so healthy and happy!

I'm a frequent watcher of first girl. She helped inspire me to get my Mohawk like 9 years ago and I always come back to her for tips on extensions and sometimes to binge watch whatever interesting things she does to her hair. The green was so nice on the first girl, I was def sad to see it go. But I totally get that feeling of wanting to chop all the damaged hair off your head. I shaved my whole head in December after dying and bleaching it probably 20 times. I’m 13 and have been dying it since third grade. It got so damaged that it was basically falling out. I am so happy and much more confident now, and have kept my head shaved since then! Planning to keep the buzz cut or at least keep it short and no more dye or bleach from now on lol!
3:11 the trick to shaving clean lines is to flip the shaver around...put the shaver at the line you want with the blades pointing straight to the scalp (it doesn't hurt)...once you are sure you have your line and the shaver is connecting with your scalp, ''scoop'' the shaver outwards, like, dont move the shaver so much as tilting it back to normal position, just move it enough so the blades dont connect to the long hair (away from the hair you want to keep and towards the hair you want to get rid of)...you really only need to make that scooping motion...once you have defined your line (ie. shaving a centimetre or three away from it) you can safely shave the rest of the shorties willy nilly. I remember having a full ass breakdown when I had the tips of my hair dyed pink, and it was so damaged. I was sobbing on the bathroom floor because I wanted my natural hair back. 3 years later I dyed my whole head blue. Times change I guess-
I completely damaged my hair for about 2 years... Bleaching and straightening and dying bright colors.. But then I decided to go natural because my hair is naturally extremely curly and I was tired of spending so much time straightening my hair and then it just poofing out and still looked terrible regardless of how much time I spent. I shaved all my hair off to get my curls back and start over. It's definitely worth the chop. I have beautiful tight and shiny curls now..

Love your videos Brad. My daughter destroyed my hair with bleach last year although her heart was in the right place. I had to keep it tied back in a pony tail whenever I left the house....Then I took the plunge and cut it to my shoulders but the ends were still a bit awful........then yesterday I did your butterfly cut and then using protection on my hair I straightened it since I have middle aged hair that gets a little wavy and fluffy....the end result was beautiful. I feel excited for work on Monday and wearing my hair down for the first time in a long time.
1 thing about wet hair is if you’re curly and/or don’t really know how to work with wet curls it can be so easy to get it too short and that’s a slippery slope 😝

@BradMondo I got my hair cut like the first girl just today as it is my go to cut. Has been for like 5 years now the menopause has finally come in on full blast. Yes, I had a hair stylist cut it. She comes to my home as my anxiety goes through the roof at salons. I don't bleach my hair (did that a few times and won't anymore for medical reasons) and I use to dye my hair with permanent colouring. It was so rough on my skin. I have decided after reading many articles and watching your fab vids to use semi-permanent (28 day colour stuff) No ammonia etc. And I just wanna say Thank you Brad for teaching me so much. I did this last week! 11 years of non stop dying and bleaching my hair. I had a few month regrowth and just chopped all my hair off, it’s quite short but i’m so glad I did it and I can’t wait for my natural hair to grow back to shoulder length🥰 I didn’t do it because it was damaged tho, but I just wanted to see my natural hair again and just felt like cutting it all off😅

I never understand why people cry when they cut their long hair. I usually let my hair grow until it becomes a bother, then just chop it off at chin length. Only recently did I get a different haircut lol, asymmetrical hairstyle gang where you at.

I remember having a full ass breakdown when I had the tips of my hair dyed pink, and it was so damaged. I was sobbing on the bathroom floor because I wanted my natural hair back. 3 years later I dyed my whole head blue. Times change I guess-

I completely damaged my hair for about 2 years... Bleaching and straightening and dying bright colors..
But then I decided to go natural because my hair is naturally extremely curly and I was tired of spending so much time straightening my hair and then it just poofing out and still looked terrible regardless of how much time I spent. I shaved all my hair off to get my curls back and start over. It's definitely worth the chop. I have beautiful tight and shiny curls now..

Love your videos Brad. My daughter destroyed my hair with bleach last year although her heart was in the right place. I had to keep it tied back in a pony tail whenever I left the house....Then I took the plunge and cut it to my shoulders but the ends were still a bit awful........then yesterday I did your butterfly cut and then using protection on my hair I straightened it since I have middle aged hair that gets a little wavy and fluffy....the end result was beautiful. I feel excited for work on Monday and wearing my hair down for the first time in a long time.
I recommend watching more of the first girl she has sooo many amazing hair videos.
1 thing about wet hair is if you’re curly and/or don’t really know how to work with wet curls it can be so easy to get it too short and that’s a slippery slope 😝

i literally love native hair products so much. my hair feels so much better ever since i started using it. i don’t have to wash my hair as often so the purple color in my hair stays longer before i have to do touch ups. literally love it

@BradMondo I got my hair cut like the first girl just today as it is my go to cut. Has been for like 5 years now the menopause has finally come in on full blast. Yes, I had a hair stylist cut it. She comes to my home as my anxiety goes through the roof at salons. I don't bleach my hair (did that a few times and won't anymore for medical reasons) and I use to dye my hair with permanent colouring. It was so rough on my skin. I have decided after reading many articles and watching your fab vids to use semi-permanent (28 day colour stuff) No ammonia etc. And I just wanna say Thank you Brad for teaching me so much. I do pass on your vids and tell my friends to watch you coz you are awesome! Even my hair stylist watches you and my Drag Queen nephew. LoL **Big hugs** from Canada. :)
There is something liberating about shaving your head. I went through chemo and I went to the first infusion GI Jane style. Felt badass.

I did this last week! 11 years of non stop dying and bleaching my hair. I had a few month regrowth and just chopped all my hair off, it’s quite short but i’m so glad I did it and I can’t wait for my natural hair to grow back to shoulder length🥰 I didn’t do it because it was damaged tho, but I just wanted to see my natural hair again and just felt like cutting it all off😅

I never understand why people cry when they cut their long hair. I usually let my hair grow until it becomes a bother, then just chop it off at chin length. Only recently did I get a different haircut lol, asymmetrical hairstyle gang where you at.
So, I used to have 2-3ft long hair. around Christmas of 2021, I cut off 1-2ft.
Kinda regret it but still love my hair!
