Cool, we got our new Y in early May and love it. Going on a baseball trip soon to Oregon. Looking forward to traveling in our Tesla rocket 🚀

Is the dog a good driver? He's looking ready for a road trip!

Enjoyed the video as always Brian. Got my MYP back in Feb but have only had the chance to put 1800 miles on it so far. Love it just as much as you love yours, they're great cars for anyone considering a purchase. I would like to ask a question though. With traveling with your dog, do you use the pet seat covers I've seen on some channels, and if so what's your feedback on that? Thanks again for putting together a cool channel.

Thanks for the comments! I’ve only done a few short trips with my parents dog (around South Dakota). So, I haven’t looked into dog seat covers. Although, I did make a quick custom cover for the drivers seat. Nothing special but helps reduce some wear and tear

Hi Brian. I just watched this video and enjoyed it. I have a 2023 Austin-built Model Y LR and love the car. I bought it in February this year and have 10K miles on it. Last month we drove it from Dallas to Yellowstone National Park (stayed in Jackson, WY for a few days) and the car performed perfectly except for one thing: Severe phantom braking. The phantom braking occurred only on clear and very hot days (100+ degrees) in Texas and New Mexico when road surface heat reflection was significant. The phantom braking was so bad that I could not use the car's cruise control for hours at a time. On cooler, overcast days, we had no issues. I'm curious to know if you've also experienced this issue.
Btw, I scheduled service with Tesla the day this occurred and they remotely connected to my car and told me they don't see any issues or faults logged. I always keep my windshield and cameras clean so I'm wondering if this is a software issue?

Thanks! I’ve had some phantom breaking as well. Although, the worst of that for me was during the winter at the start of the year. Still, I’ll keep my foot over the go peddle if I’m using cruise control and another car is behind me (just in case). Hopefully, the cars keep improving with the continuous software updates.

Good morning Brian ! Super helpful video. I am in the market for a new car - really tossing between Tesla vs gas . I have done my research as far as cost of a Tesla ( yes pricier) but after tax incentives/ gas savings ect….. maintaining- which as you say is minimal on the Tesla - I am leaning more towards the Y. The long range 3 is only $500 cheaper at this point vs the Y.
My question is - do you do the referral code ? And thoughts on a model Y for someone who travels a bit ( not to any extent as you do ) but jealous of that 😊-
We would definitely like to take some longer trips - we are in MA - maybe CO ect . Thanks , donna

That’s my referral code. With it, you can get $500 off and other benefits. Thanks for asking 😊 The Model Y has lots of space compared to similar sized gas cars. It’s also been great for long road trips. Although, charging adds a little extra time. Maybe roughly an extra hour for an 8 hour driving day (depends on supercharger speeds, etc.). I just use the extra stops to stretch my legs. Also, once I got used to Tesla autopilot, I’m less tired after long drives. Autopilot doesn’t cost extra. It keeps the car in a lane and adjusts speed for you.

Thanks so much Brian ! My husband is dying for one ( it’s going to my car) . I was a little nervous at 1st thinking about - it’s a new thing. I am pretty Tech savvy so that shouldn’t be an issue. Change is tough but beautiful at the same time ! So glad you get to take some time off and enjoy this world of ours !! I’ll keep you posted - thanks so much . I’ll be following your adventures! Camping in it sounds awesome
